Tara Erickson, Andrew Gordon, & Aaron Alexander react to 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, the long-awaited continuation of the Rage virus saga that began with 28 Days Later. The franchise returns to its raw, grounded horror roots — desolate landscapes, feral infected, survivor brutality, and the haunting tension that made the original so iconic. In this reaction, we dive into the biggest shock moments, the most intense infected sequences, the eerie Bone Temple imagery, and how this new chapter evolves the post-apocalyptic world nearly three decades after the outbreak first changed everything. Monique Tepe left the Big Ten Championship game at halftime, upset about "something involving her ex-husband." She was 200 miles away in Indianapolis when surveillance allegedly captured Michael McKee at her Columbus home on December 6th, 2025. According to the Columbus Dispatch, video showed him going into the home and leaving "a few hours later." Twenty-four days later, Monique and her husband Dr. Spencer Tepe were found shot to death in their second-floor bedroom. Their two young children—ages 1 and 4—were asleep in the house, unharmed. A newly unsealed affidavit details eight years of alleged threats. Witnesses told investigators McKee said he could "kill her at any time," that he would "find her and buy the house right next to her," that "she will always be his wife." These aren't the words of heartbreak. They're the words of ownership. Witnesses also told investigators that during the marriage, McKee allegedly strangled Monique and forced unwanted sex on her. Strangulation is the single greatest predictor of future lethality in domestic violence cases. Yet Columbus police confirmed there were no prior reports filed. No restraining orders. Nothing on paper. McKee, a vascular surgeon, was arrested at a Rockford Chick-fil-A eleven days after the murders. He's pleaded not guilty to four counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated burglary. If convicted, he faces life in prison. This episode examines the psychology of someone who refuses to accept that a relationship has ended, and the brutal reality that doing everything right—leaving, divorcing, rebuilding—doesn't always protect you from someone who never recognized your right to leave. December 6th wasn't the start. It was the final confirmation that he could reach her whenever he wanted.#MoniqueTepe #SpencerTepe #MichaelMcKee #UnsealedAffidavit #BigTenChampionship #DomesticViolence #TepeMurders #ColumbusOhio #TrueCrimeToday #AggravatedMurderJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? "I wasn't even sure I believed in God. But when I saw the miracle of the sun with golden raindrops falling off of it, I knew that God existed and that he loved me." ---------- In the Bible, the number forty shows up when something is being tested, purified, or prepared. Forty days. Forty years. It is never random. It is the stretch between what God promises and what finally comes to life. When the music that bubbles up in my head began to take me back to a story from 40 weeks ago, I pushed back. Why would I do that? Wrong question. Just trust. OK. This episode returns to the conversion story of Michael Campanelli, a man who went to Medjugorje not even sure he believed in God. What happened there was not flashy or emotional hype. It was uncomfortable. A call to confession. A confrontation with long buried sin. A moment of grace that broke through his resistance and changed the direction of his life. That moment became a turning point. Skepticism gave way to surrender. Confession led to healing. And eventually, Michael found himself helping guide others on pilgrimages through his Padre Pio ministry. This is not a rerun. It is a return. Forty weeks later, what was planted has been tested long enough to begin bearing fruit. ---------- Share Your Story If you have a Touched by Heaven moment that you would like to share with Trapper, please leave us a note at https://touchedbyheaven.net/contact Our listeners look forward to hearing about life-changing encounters and miraculous stories every week. The second film of the 28 Years Later trilogy has been out in cinemas for a good few weeks now and, unfortunately, I hadn't been able to make it to a screening until yesterday. I love the original 28 Days Later - it might just be the absolute pinaccle of 'infected' horror stories onscreen. I even have a bit of a soft spot for 28 Weeks Later so I was pumped going into 28 Years Later last year. And overall, I would describe my experience with that film as mixed-positive. A lot of the individual pieces could be no shortage of moving, horrifying and surprisingly poignant... but as a whole, I really think Danny Boyle sacrificied some story flow and chaarcter for the sake of overstylization. I know I'm in the minority with that, and I LOVE Dannoy Boyle's work usually... but I was expecting to love it more... well, in comes 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. Is it the best sequel in the franchsie? Find out in this review!28 Years Later: The Bone Temple:Directed by: Nia DaCostaWritten by: Alex GarlandProduced by: Andrew Macdonald, Peter Rice, Bernard Bellew, Danny Boyle, Alex GarlandExecutive Producer: Cillian MurphyMusic by: Hildur GudnadóttirDirector of Photography: Sean BobbittEdited by: Jake RobertsCasting by: Des Hamilton, Leah HarrisonProduction Design by: Carson McColl, Gareth PughCostume Design by: Carson McColl, Gareth PughCast: Ralph Fiennes, Jack O'Connell, Alfie Williams, Erin Kellyman, Chi Lewis-ParrySynopsis: Dr. Kelson finds himself in a shocking new relationship - with consequences that could change the world as they know it - and Spike's encounter with Jimmy Crystal becomes a nightmare he can't escape.
Er der mere at hente i zombiegenren - eller er den ved at være løbet tør?I dette afsnit har Jacob Ege Hinchely besøg af Anders Bøtter og sammen kaster de sig først over Netflix-filmen The Rip (2026), instrueret af Joe Carnahan (The Grey, The A-Team). Her genforenes makkerparret Matt Damon (Jason Bourne, Good Will Hunting) og Ben Affleck (Good Will Hunting, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) i en hæsblæsende actionthriller om to undercover-agenter, der må udgive sig for at være kriminelle.

The First Part in our Faith in the Wicked Trilogy 28 Days Later has aged like a fine wine but perhaps 28 Years Later hasn't aged enough as audiences unfortunately seemed to tune out the latest entry in this franchise 28 YEARS LATER: THE BONE TEMPLE. We discuss the franchise as a whole (mostly skipping 28 WEEKS LATER unless one host gets a chance to bring up THE BEACH) and how much love we have for Ralph Fiennes, well-endowed zombies and a dance sequence with Satanists. 065 - 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, Dir. Nia DaCosta In 2002, 28 Days Later made Zombies scary again. They were faster, more relentless, and stronger than any other franchise, redefining what made "Zombies" scary. With a low budget, Danny Boyle was able to create a very scary atmosphere with a wonderful cast of characters with a wonderful end sequence with an iconic score thats stretched over every film since. 2007 brought us 28 Weeks Later with a bigger budget and larger scope of the outbreak with a bigger cast and more action. 2025 brings us 28 Years later- the first film in a planned Trilogy that rewrites some of the rules of the universe and undoes much of the good that the original gave us. 2026 brings us The Bone Temple- a very divisive 2nd installment in the 28 Years Later Trilogy. He was in the room. He was off his medication. And now he says he doesn't remember anything. Newly released court documents reveal that the 16-year-old stepbrother suspected in Anna Kepner's death has reportedly told his parents he has no memory of the night she was strangled aboard the Carnival Horizon cruise ship. Text messages entered into evidence show his mother writing to her ex-husband: "He just keeps repeating over and over he can't remember anything." The teen had been prescribed medication for insomnia — medication his mother testified he hadn't taken for two consecutive nights on the cruise, including the night before Anna's body was found hidden under a bed, wrapped in a blanket and covered with life vests. Anna Kepner, 18, was a cheerleader from Titusville, Florida, who dreamed of joining the Navy. Her death has been ruled a homicide by mechanical asphyxiation. Eight weeks later, the FBI has made no arrest and released no public statement. The stepbrother was sent to a psychiatric facility immediately after the ship docked and is now living with relatives while undergoing evaluation. In this breakdown, we examine the memory loss claims, the troubling text messages between his parents focused on keeping things quiet, allegations that Anna was scared of her stepbrother before the cruise, and what the FBI may be waiting for. Twenty-eight years after the Rage virus first tore through the UK, director Danny Boyle and writer Alex Garland return to the franchise that redefined zombie horror. 28 Years Later picks up on a remote island where survivors have carved out a fragile existence, only to be drawn back into the mainland's quarantine zone—where secrets fester and the infected aren't the only threat. With a cast led by Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes, the film dives deep into the psychological toll of survival, the ethics of containment, and the terrifying evolution of humanity itself.Join the crew as we dissect the film's themes of isolation and resurgence, compare it to its predecessors (28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later), and debate whether this third installment delivers on its legacy—or simply mutates it. We also explore the film's visual grit, Young Fathers' haunting score, and the implications of a new trilogy in the making. So grab your hazmat suit and tune in—because the Rage virus isn't done with us yet.
LOTS OF CATCHING UP TO DO!
The Festival of Hungry Ghosts is upon us – and today on Script Apart, we're betting it all on black. Ballad Of A Small Player is the casino-set new drama from director Edward Berger and writer Rowan Joffe, adapted from the novel of the same name by author Lawrence Osborne. It follows Colin Farrell as a character who introduces himself as Lord Boyle – an aristocratic charmer, who we soon come to learn is seriously, existentially adrift amid the slot machines and baccarat tables of Macau's gambling houses. As Boyle's true self – and name – is revealed, we tumble with him down a neon-splashed, teal-and-red rabbit hole of addiction and emptiness. And it was this emptiness I was particularly eager to discuss when I sat down recently with Edward and Rowan, across two separate conversations. Rowan is the creator of the TV show Tin Star, and the writer of films like 28 Weeks Later and Before I Go To Sleep, which he also directed. He's also, as tells me in this conversation, a recovering alcoholic, sober for many years. Edward, meanwhile – well, if you've followed the Oscars and indeed this show over the last few years, Edward needs little introduction. Conclave, his 2024 drama about the election of a new pope, and All Quiet On The Western Front, his 2022 Best International Picture-winning war epic, have seen him rocket to modern cinema's top table in terms of respected auteurs. In the midst of that success, though, Edward has described finding himself plagued by an empty feeling. And in this episode, he tells me how that informed this latest story. We get into the curiosity that drives his storytelling and also clear up something I read long ago about Ed's love of rollerskating – and I also hear from Rowan about what it is that he thinks casinos represent in our culture; the capitalist tendencies they act as temples to.Script Apart is hosted by Al Horner and produced by Kamil Dymek. At first glance, the sequel to the zombie movie 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later is not an obvious pick for a podcast about Arthurian movies. However, after watching a few minutes, it's fairly evident that the movie isn't just a commentary on post-Brexit Britain, the weaponization of nostalgia, and the dangers of Little Englanders, it's playing with all of British history, from the end of its place as part of the Roman Empire--an end that leads to the creation of the Arthurian legend--to the Viking incursions, to the Henry V, the rise and fall of the British Empire, World War II, and the decrepit ruling class that protected monsters like Jimmy Savile and Prince Andrew. Beyond that, it's a meditation on death and compassion, one which asks us to, as the Latin phrase goes, memento mori. Starring Alfie Williams, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, Ralph Fiennes, Edvin Rydig, Jack O'Connell, and Chi Lewis-Parry. Written by Alex Garland. Directed by Danny Boyle. 28 Days Later was chosen by show supporter Dylan — and it's one of the most defining British horror films of the 21st century. Directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland, the film was a bold reinvention of the zombie genre, injecting it with raw energy, political undertones, and a sense of realism rarely seen in horror at the time. Shot primarily on digital video using Canon XL1 cameras, Boyle and cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle created a gritty, almost documentary-style aesthetic that captured a hauntingly desolate London. The small budget of around $8 million forced the team to rely on guerrilla-style filmmaking, often closing off sections of central London for only minutes at a time during early mornings to achieve its eerily empty cityscapes.Production began in 2001 and was marked by a collaborative, experimental spirit. Boyle and Garland drew inspiration from a mix of sources — from George A. Romero's Dead series to British social realism and viral outbreak fears of the late 1990s. The cast, led by relative unknowns at the time, brought grounded performances that added emotional weight to the film's chaotic energy. With its pulsing soundtrack, handheld visuals, and visceral tone, 28 Days Later became both a critical and commercial success, revitalizing interest in the zombie genre and influencing a decade of horror and apocalyptic cinema that followed. If you enjoy the show, we have a Patreon, so become a supporter here.Referral links also help out the show if you were going to sign up:NordVPNNordPassTrailer Guy Plot SummaryA deadly virus. A deserted city. And a handful of survivors left to face the unthinkable. From director Danny Boyle comes a new vision of terror — raw, relentless, and shockingly real. When the world collapses overnight, one man wakes up to find that civilization is gone… and something unspeakable has taken its place.28 Days Later — from the ashes of humanity, fear runs faster than ever.Fun FactsThe opening hospital scenes with Cillian Murphy were filmed in the empty Day Ward of a real London hospital that was being decommissioned. The haunting shot of abandoned Piccadilly Circus required the crew to block traffic for only 10 minutes at sunrise, with police assistance to keep curious drivers away.Christopher Eccleston joined the film fresh off his acclaimed role in The Second Coming and brought a darker, militaristic edge to his performance. The movie's terrifying “infected” movement was achieved by casting trained dancers and athletes to create unnervingly fast and fluid motion.Composer John Murphy created the now-iconic track In the House – In a Heartbeat, which went on to be used in Kick-Ass and The Last of Us trailers.Danny Boyle avoided traditional zombie makeup — instead, red contact lenses and digital blood splatter were used to keep the infected design grounded and cheap. The Rage Virus was spread through monkey blood in the film, but the opening sequence with real chimpanzees was filmed under strict animal welfare supervision.28 Days Later was the first horror movie to film inside the UK's M1 motorway tunnels, normally off-limits to filmmakers. The movie was banned in several Asian countries for its extreme violence and realistic depiction of viral infection. The success of the film led to a comic book spin-off titled 28 Days Later: The Aftermath, which bridged the story to the 2007 sequel 28 Weeks Later.thevhsstrikesback@gmail.comhttps://linktr.ee/vhsstrikesback

Day 18 – Episode 168: 28 Years Later (2025)On Day 18 of The Conner & Smith Show's 31 Days of Halloween, Ryan and I dive into 28 Years Later — the long-awaited and utterly breathtaking continuation of Danny Boyle and Alex Garland's apocalyptic saga. What we expected to be another grim survival horror instead left us both deeply moved, even brought to tears by its haunting beauty, humanity, and poetic sense of closure. The film honors the legacy of 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later while evolving into something profoundly emotional — a meditation on time, trauma, and the cost of rebuilding. This isn't just another sequel; it's a requiem for the world we once knew.Support The Conner & Smith Show on Patreon here:

Send us a textKatie and Bridget refuse to get on the train to the quarantined zombie land as they re-watch the 2nd installment in the series: 28 Weeks Later! We're back in London where apparently all the zombies have starved out and now the AMERICAN ARMY has come in to take over because that JUST. MAKES. SENSE!(?!) But unfortunately our beloved characters from the 1st movie are nowhere to be seen. Instead we've got siblings Andy and Tammy who are being reunited with their Dad, who shall be known as "Fucking-Don". When they find their Mom alive and well after their Dad gaslighted them into thinking he didn't leave her for dead, chaos ensues and yet another god damn zombie apocalypse commences. Although this time we at least have Jeremy Renner and Idris Elba to look at throughout it, so that's cool. We've got loads of questions, unlikeable/unknown characters, and little to no fun ethical conversations in this sequel to 28 Days Later, which doesn't really compare in the slightest. Released in 2007, it stars Jeremy Renner, Rose Byrne, Robert Carlyle, Harold Perrineau, Catherine McCormack, Idris Elba, Imogen Poots, and Mackintosh Muggleton.
