The episode begins with sports discussion of the Olympics, we were plugged in and happy to watch Steph Curry bring home the gold for USMBT. (3:00)We move on to entertainment where we have a brief discussion of the unfortunate news that Joaquin Phoenix has backed out of an exciting and racy film 5 days before shooting, leaving Todd Haynes holding the bag. (21:00)After that, we give a quick spoiler free review of the newly released BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER. What worked? What didn't? (25:00)We proceed into D23 Announcements thereafter, including Avatar 3, Pixar's upcoming slate, and TRON 3 news. This also includes brief MCU discussions of Daredevil Born Again, the new Fantastic Four suits and the show AGATHA ALL ALONG, coming next month. (33:30)After that, it's Star Wars time. We discuss the Skeleton Crew trailer, and the teaser for The Mandalorian and Grogu. (44:30)On to our Science Segment; where Joseph give us the ins and outs of the workings of the massively important and incredibly innovative JAMES WEBB TELESCOPE, and he gives us hope for its future. (1:01:00)We begin to wrap up the episode with each of our announcing our ALBUM OF THE WEEK (1:24:00)And we conclude with our segment ON THE SPOT, where each of us put each other on the spot with a question about sports: How can the MLB make their game more marketable on television? And what Olympic event do you think you'd have the best shot at competing in if you dedicated your life to it for the next few years? Everyone once in awhile I will throw a "Science Segment" in, where I explain what a supplement does in the body, how the body works, biochemistry, physiology, etc,... all to strive towards a greater understanding of health, fitness and longevity. . . This episode I talk about Coenzyme Q (CoQ10) and why I take it. It essentially boils down to improving mitochondrial efficiency and it's antioxidant properties. Tune in, I will explain. This is for people of ALL levels - surface level biochemistry, energy utilization, how it plays into the mito, CoQ10's - Q cycle and much more! . . Did you know that there has been a slow oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico that started after Hurricane Ivan destroyed a platform in 2004. The platform was owned and operated by Taylor Energy. Since 2004, the company has not had to pay anything in fines even though the leak was discovered in 2010 during aerial surveys during BP's Deepsea Horizon disaster.  Both the stories today highlight the importance to put elected officials in office that will do the right thing when managing natural resources and reducing climate change impacts.  Let me know your thoughts on this episode in the Facebook Group.  Enjoy the Podcast!!! This week on Cellar Door Skeptics our intrepid hosts begin with a somber discussion on mass shootings and Ken Ham's reluctant acknowledgment that the United States is becoming less religious; closing the first segment out with a challenge from Christopher Tanner to the Faithful. The Science Segment for this week looks at the current state of bees and if there really is a Beepocalypse happening. Then in a new Political Science segment Chris and Christopher talked about the historical perspective switch between the Democratic and Republican parties in the US and when it happened. And Finally, this week's show closed out with the controversy of Sam Harris's quote about Ben Carson which, through research, led to the true animosity between Harris and Noam Chomsky. Often the most interesting scientific questions are the ones which are hardest to test. The challenge is to, like Albert Einstein, be very creative in the ways that we try to answer them. One such question is this: what lies beyond the event horizon of a black hole? (Think of the event horizon as the boundary of a black hole.) It's an interesting question, because we can't go into a black hole, and nothing within a black hole can come out. How can we think creatively to answer it?

Microwaves bounce back and forth as, well, waves. Depending on the size of the wave, some spots are hot and some are cold. This is why most microwave ovens have turntables -- the heat is more evenly spread out. How can Brian, Sierra and Mary show that this is what's happening inside the microwave?
