Večer ima svojo moč. Sredino srečanje na frekvencah Radia Koper je dolgo eno uro. A mine kot bi trenil. Za to so krivi gostje, s katerimi se ob izbrani glasbi pogovarjajo novinarji. Bojan Roš je človek, ki je v življenju nosil veliko različnih vlog. Bil je zdravnik, pulmolog in diabetolog, dolgoletni zdravnik v Tolminu, kasneje tudi koncesionar. Je lovec, človek narave, vizionar, ki je na pobočju gore Kuk, s pogledom na Matajur, simbolom Nediških dolin in osupljivo doline Soče, soustvaril Nebesa – eno najbolj prepoznavnih turističnih zgodb Posočja. Najbolj je človek srečen, če je zdrav in če ima zdravo familijo. In celo familijo. Bojan Roš Rojen je bil v Hrastniku, odraščal v družini, ki jo je povojna razlastitev močno zaznamovala. Kot mladenič je hodil peš čez hribe v šolo, študij medicine končal z odliko, hkrati pa vodil enega najbolj znanih študentskih zbirališč v Ljubljani. Žena Katja je več kot 30 let pisala zgodbe za časopis Delo. Hči Maja je stopila po mamini poti, le da je za pripovedovanje zgodb uporabljala televizijsko kamero. Hči Ana pa je verjetno najboljša kuharska mojstrica na svetu. Bojan Roš je dedek in človek, ki še danes rad poprime za delo, pomaga sosedu in z zanimanjem spremlja svet okoli sebe. Z njim o  življenju med ambulanto in hribi, o zdravstvu nekoč in danes, o lovski etiki, družini, Nebesih in o tem, kaj človeka po vseh teh letih še vedno žene naprej.

Bil Lewis earned a Masters Degree in computer science at Indiana University in 1978, working in Integrated Development Environments and bioinformatics at Stanford, Tufts, MIT and Harvard.  He has taught at Stanford, Tufts, and MIT with a Sabbatical at L'ecole des Moines DuNanets. He is a Past District Governor for Toastmaster, an Eagle Scout, a Returned Peace Corps Officer, and an ecstatic graduate of Indiana University. Bil je ulični umetnik. Za mimoidoče je na evropskih trgih igral piščal, ali pa postal živi kip. Danes Argentinec Guillermo Daniel Escalante Rodríguez vodi lončarske delavnice v sklopu Slovenskega etnografskega muzeja. Slovenijo je pred petnajstimi leti izbral za svoj dom. Tukaj je ostal tudi zaradi Prešernovega trga; navdušen je namreč nad tem, da ga ne krasi vojskovodja na konju, temveč največji slovenski pesnik in njegova muza. To veliko pove o državi in o vrednotah ljudi, ki tam živijo.

S smrtjo se je nekoliko nepričakovano srečala, ko je za magistrsko nalogo v Maroku raziskovala starodavne sisteme namakanja. Družina iz vasice ob vznožju gorovja Atlas, pri kateri je takrat bivala, je medse sprejela brezdomnega sorodnika. Bil je neozdravljivo bolan. In tako je pod isto streho, kjer je delala, spremljala proces umiranja. Opazovala je, kako so umirajočega sredi hiše umivali, ga hranili in molili ob njem, medtem ko so se v istem prostoru igrali otroci. Smrt je bila skozi družinske in družbene rituale več kot očitno vtkana v življenje in nikakor ločena od njega. In v Sloveniji? Na prvi se pogled zdi, da je drugače: smrt zapiramo v institucije in umikamo v zasebnost, a Simona ugotavlja, da to ne drži v celoti. Pri svojem terenskem delu na podeželju severovzhodne Slovenije namreč preučuje, kje ljudje prihajajo v stik z mrtvimi. Ugotavlja, da najpogosteje v štirih prostorih: na pokopališču, doma, v sanjah in – presenetljivo – ob tamkajšnji državni meji, ki poteka v gozdu, in žive opominja na nasilne dogodke, ki so se tam odvili v preteklosti in s katerimi še vedno niso pomirjeni.  Sogovorniki so ji v pogovorih pojasnjevali, da pokojne predvsem začutijo: ko jim zadiši domač vonj tobaka, ko zaslišijo znan zvok ali pa imajo zgolj neopisljiv občutek njihove prisotnosti. V podkastu nam je pripovedovala o fantu, ki je del očetovega pepela raztrosil na domačem vrtu. Ko se znajde pred pomembno odločitvijo, gre tja, prižge cigareto zase in eno za očeta ter s pijačo v roki skupaj v pogovoru z očetom išče odgovore. Takšni drobni, osebni rituali nam omogočajo, da ohranjamo odnos z umrlim in da tudi lažje sprejemamo smrt – pri tem pa se tudi predstava, da je smrt absolutna, nekoliko omehča. 

Ob prvi obletnici smrti beneškega duhovnika in profesorja Marina Qualizze, ki je bil tudi odgovorni urednik petnajstdnevnika Dom, bo več slovesnosti potekalo konec tedna. Bil je namreč duhovni oče slovenske skupnosti, moralna avtoriteta, ki ji je stal ob strani s svojo človeškostjo in modrostjo ter svojim globokim znanjem. V soboto bo tako maša pri Mariji Devici v Dreki in v Špetru, v nedeljo pa v rojstni Podutani. Dom ob letošnji 60-letnici pripravlja posebno knjigo o msgr. Qualizzi ter publikacijo o njegovem teološkem delu. To bo za marsikoga nekaj novega, saj se je pokojni v domačih krajih predstavljal le kot dušni pastir in zaveden Slovenec. Benečani čutijo njegov blagoslov glede slovenskega jezika v cerkvah in tudi sobotne svete maše po slovensko v špetrski farni cerkvi. Tam bo 30. maja k prvemu svetemu obhajilu pristopilo deset otrok, ki obiskujejo dvojezični verouk. Kot v aktualnem Domu piše odgovorni urednik Ezio Gosgnach, gre velika zahvala duhovnikom, ki niso Slovenci, a se našega jezika pridno učijo in laikom, ki si vsak teden prizadevajo, da se v cerkvah sliši Božjo besedo, se moli in poje po slovensko. Te je pokojni Marino Qualizza imenoval »Čedermaci današnjih dni«.

Anton Trstenjak (1906 – 1996) je s svojim razmišljanjem pogosto prehiteval čas. Bil je pionir pozitivne, klinične in pedagoške psihologije v slovenskem prostoru, avtor številnih knjig – med njimi znamenitega dela Človek in sreča (1974) – pa tudi raziskovalec zaznavanja barv, po katerem znanost pozna tako imenovani Trstenjakov zakon. Ob 120. obletnici rojstva in 30. obletnici smrti oddajo Glasovi svetov posvečamo življenju in delu dr. Antona Trstenjaka. Uvrščamo ga med največje slovenske mislece, intelektualce in humaniste. Tridesetega aprila pred 120-imi leti se je v Ljubljani rodil pisatelj Ivan Mrak – v Ljubljani je leta 1986 tudi umrl. Bil je poseben ustvarjalec, v slovensko literarno zgodovino se je zapisal predvsem z dramatiko, v kateri je oblikoval značilen tip tragedije o velikih mitskih, zgodovinskih in umetniških osebnostih. Ivan Mrak je bil tudi pomembna in vplivna oseba na prizorišču slovenske kulture, zato so njegovi spomini še posebno dragoceni. Pred tremi leti sem prvič v odraslosti od blizu spoznavala proces umiranja. Bil je boleč in težak. Spremljala sem umiranje očeta svoje takrat partnerke, zdaj žene, ki je bil dolgo bolan. V tistem časa nama je izjemno prav prišel podkast Ologies, v katerem je Alie Ward večkrat govorila o smrti, umiranju in žalovanju. Mineva 10 let od smrti in 110 let od rojstva Mirka Bogića. Mlad je prišel iz Šibenika v LJubljano in na Ljubljanici zasnoval Prvi slovenski jadralni klub. Pozneje se je preselil v Piran. Prejemnik študentske Prešernove nagrade in Bloudkove nagrade na področju telesne kulture, je bil zmagovalec številnih regat in njegovo barko L-5 Pi1500 še danes najdemo pred Pomorskim muzejem v Piranu. Profesor geografije, kustos v Zemljepisnem muzeju v Ljubljani, je bil velik poznavalec vremenoslovja in jadranja. Bil je pisec knjig in Ladijskega dnevnika. V oddaji slišimo tudi Mirkovega sina Mladena in predsednika Jadralske zveze Slovenije Sama Lozeja.

Vit Pohanka je češki novinar, trenutno sodelavec radia Prague International. Novinar je že več kot 32 let. V tem času je živel v šestih različnih državah in bival na 27 različnih naslovih. Bil je dopisnik v Združenih državah Amerike. Med drugim pa je navdušen skakalec s padalom, z letala je skočil že 232. Povsem mirno pa govori tudi o tem, da so ga leta 2004 v Iraku ugrabili. Nicolasa Hermana so v času tridesetletne vojne v 17. stoletju ujeli Nemci. Obtožili so ga vohunjenja in ga obsodili na vislice. On pa je svojim krvnikom mirno izjavil, da se smrti ne boji, ker je njegova vest čista. Bil je tako prepričljiv, da so mu verjeli in ga izpustili. Herman je čez nekaj let vstopil v red bosonogih karmeličanov v Parizu, kjer je dobil meniško ime brat Lovrenc od Vstajenja. Kmalu po njegovi smrti so njegovi sodobniki zbrali njegove misli v knjigi, ki zaradi predanosti in zaupanja, navdihujejo še tri stoletja pozneje. Tudi Robert Prevost, zdajšnji papež Leon XIV. je rekel, da je to knjiga, ki ga je življenjsko zaznamovala. Besede meniha, ki je bil samostanski kuhar in čevljar, nagovarjajo tudi nekrščanske kroge. Piše Robi Šabec, bere Jure Franko. Z izrazom svinčena leta (italijansko anni di piombo) je v zgodovini Italije označeno nemirno politično obdobje od konca šestdesetih do prve polovice osemdesetih let 20. stoletja, ko so predvsem fašistične teroristične skupine izvajale številne ugrabitve in bombne atentate. Na političnem prizorišču je bil cilj vseskozi jasen: državo je bilo treba obvarovati, kot zadnjo braniteljico pred deželami 'bogoskrunskega komunizma'. Očuvati jo je bilo treba pred levico in to na vsak način – tudi z uporabo že v drugi svetovni vojni preverjenega fašističnega nasilja. Če je to veljalo za Italijo, je še toliko bolj očitno držalo za mesta neposredno ob meji. Kot je navedeno v samem naslovu romana Trst, 1974, je osrednje dogajanje romana postavljeno v srčiko italijanskih svinčenih let, v leto ko je bilo, kot navaja avtor Massimiliano Stefani, na Apeninskem polotoku na političnem prizorišču izjemno napeto. Pomlad se je začela s sojenjem šestim skrajnim desničarjem za pokol v Peteanu dve leti prej. Štirinajst dni pred tem se je v Catanzaru začelo sojenje za pokol na Trgu Fontana v Milanu leta 1969, ki so ga izvedli člani fašistične organizacije Ordine Nuovo. Prav s tem krvavim dogodkom naj bi se začela italijanska svinčena leta, ki so močno zaznamovala tudi dogajanje v Trstu. Deževnega večera 27. aprila je pri Svetem Ivanu v Trstu na slovenski šoli odjeknila eksplozija – bombo so podtaknili fašistični skrajneži. In prav ta prizor (ob orisih predhodno navedenih atentatov) je pisatelj uporabil kot uvod v roman Trst, 1974 oziroma v razdelek Pomlad. Delo je namreč razdeljeno na tri večje razdelke: Pomlad, Poletje in Jesen, ki jih spremljajo dodana uvodna poglavja, s katerimi avtor osredotočeno predstavi dogajanja v Trstu, ob tem pa izpiše še širšo družbenopolitično situacijo v Italiji. Tovrstni dinamiki ostaja zvest vse do konca. Tudi Poletje se začne burno: uvodno poglavje Italicus govori o enem najhujših bombnih atentatov, ki so kdajkoli pretresli Italijo. 4. avgusta ponoči je na vlaku, ki je iz Rima peljal v München, eksplodirala bomba. Umrlo je 12 ljudi, 48 potnikov pa je bilo hudo ranjenih. Čeprav je odgovornost za atentat prevzela že znana fašistična skupina Ordine Nero, krivcev za tragedijo niso nikoli izsledili. Zadnji razdelek romana (sklene ga le še končni epilog z naslovom Božič) se začne z jesenjo in s prihodom režiserja, pesnika, pisatelja in gledališkega ustvarjalca Piera Paola Pasolinija na konferenco v tržaški študentski dom. Prihod slavnega režiserja je pomemben vsaj iz dveh vidikov. Bil je izpričan levičar in zagrizen borec proti fašizmu, leto zatem pa umorjen verjetno prav zaradi ekstremne kritike fašizma v znamenitem filmskem delu Salò ali 120 dni Sodome. Če k temu dodamo še enega izmed protagonistov romana, istospolno usmerjenega mladeniča Lorenza, pa je prihod slavnega pesnika v »mesto v zalivu« še toliko bolj utemeljen. Dodatno dinamiko dogajanja v romanu je Massimiliano Stefani vnesel še s sprva zapriseženim tržaškim fašistom Ruggerom, ki se zaljubi v Majo, Slovenko po rodu, ta pa v svojem ljubezenskem hrepenenju koleba med njim in študentom, komunističnim aktivistom Maurom. Tu je še Majin brat Saša, ki v zgodbo vključi lokalnega norca Angela in z njim potrebno psihiatrično sceno, družno s psihiatrom Francom Basaglio, s katerim je pisatelj zaokrožil dodobra naphane tržaške razmere sredi sedemdesetih let. V tako nastavljeni atmosferi avtor poznavalsko drsi med ideološkimi nasprotji, nacionalistično-fašističnimi ekscesi in čustvenimi mladostniškimi iskanji identitete. Poudarjajo jih precizni opisi tržaško-italijanskega vsakdana, saj vključujejo vse od bencinskih bonov do tedaj priljubljenih televizijskih oddaj. Pisatelj nas zanesljivo vodi po mestnem središču in okolici, od doline Glinščice prek Barkovelj k Sv Ivanu, v Ljudski vrt, pa vse do znamenite promenade na Ulici 20. september, kjer je bil njega dni tudi sedež fašistične drhali. Predstavlja nam romaneskno potovanje po večnarodnostnem in očarljivem, pogosto tudi strašljivem Trstu, prežetem z nemiri in družbenopolitičnimi napetostmi sedemdesetih let. Delo, ki je kar se da mogoče vpeto v konkreten čas in prostor, se pravi Trst, 1974 kot Italija v malem.

Alojzij Zupančič je bil dolgoletni vodja Sektorja za carinske in davčne postopke pri Carinski upravi Republike Slovenije. Bil je predavatelj in predsednik izpitne komisije pri izobraževanju delavcev carinske službe in carinikov ter špediterjev. Kot uslužbenec carine je bil navzoč pri nastanku nove države, pri pripravah na vstop v Evropsko unijo in pri uvedbi evra. Kot upokojenec je napisal knjigo o vlogi carinske službe pri osamosvajanju Slovenije, sicer pa se v pokoju ukvarja tudi z rodovniki. V oddajo Storž ga je povabila Cirila Štuber.

11. februarja 2026 je umrl Cees Nooteboom, nizozemski pesnik, pisatelj, potopisec, esejist. Bil je eden izmed osrednjih literatov ne le na Nizozemskem, ampak v svetovnem merilu, zadnja leta na vrhu lestvice kandidatov za Nobelovo nagrado. V slovenščini lahko beremo njegove romane Rituali, Naslednja zgodba, Vsi sveti in Raj, izgubljeni. Ta je izšel pred desetimi leti v okviru festivala Fabula založbe Beletrina in Cees Nooteboom je bil eden izmed gostov. Tadeja Krečič Scholten ga je povabila pred mikrofon. Eğer cennete girdirilmezsim, o zaman da seni asla göremiyeceğim..." Bunun üzerine, bu âyet-i kerime nazil oldu."Biz hiçbir peygamberi, Allah'ın izniyle kendisine itaat edilmesinden başka bir hikmetle göndermedik" (Nisa. 63)Sıddîk, sıdkı (doğruluğu) âdet edinmiş olan kimsenin ismidir. Bir fiil bir insanın âdeti olur ve o insan bu fiili ifade eden kelimeyle tavsif edilir ise, o vasıf fiîl vezni üzere gelir. Mesela hımmîr (çok şarap içen) denilir. Her kim, şekke düşmeksizin herhangibir dini tasdik eder (doğrular) ise, o sıddîktir. Bunun delili, "Allah'a ve peyamberlerine iman edenler (yok mu!), onlar sıddîklerdir" (Hadîd, 19) âyetidir.Sıddîk, Hazret-i Peygamber (sallallahü aleyhi ve sellem)'i ilk önce tasdik etmiş ve böylece, bu hususta diğer insanlara öncü olmuş kimsenin ismidir.O, Hazret-i Peygamber (sallallahü aleyhi ve sellem)'i tasdikte öncüdür. Eğer şehâdet, sadece kâfir tarafından öldürülmekten ibaret olsaydı, onlar, Allah'tan bu öldürülmeyi istemiş olurlardı. Oysa ki bu caiz değildir.Çünkü, kâfirin onu öldürmesini istemek küfürdür.Hazret-i Peygamber, "Karın ağrısından ölen şehiddir; boğularak ölen şehiddir" Müslim, İmare, 164,Salih, itikadında ve amelinde iyi, dürüst olan kimsedir. Çünkü, cehalet itikadda bir bozukluk, günah ise amelde bir bozukluktur. Bu böyledir, çünkü itikadı doğru, işi de mâsiyet değil taat olan herkes sâlihtir.Bil ki Cenâb-ı Hak, Allah'a ve Resulüne itaat eden kimsenin peygamberler, sıddîklar, şehidler ve salihlerleberaber olduğunu açıklamış, sonra bunlardan hangisi olduğuna pek önem vermeyip, sadece onlarla beraber refîk bir arkadaş olmanın kâfi geldiğini bildirmiştir, Biz daha önce, "refik" kelimesinin, hazarda ve seferde kendisinden istifade edilen kimse manasına olduğunu zikretmiştik. Böylece Cenâb-ı Hak, bu itaatkâr kullardan fayda sağlanacağını açıklamıştır.” Razi

2025 has been a doozy in so many ways. And climate news has been no exception. Climate One hosts Ariana Brocious and Kousha Navidar look back at what the year has meant for climate progress: the good, the bad, the ugly — and the joyful. According to the World Meteorological Organization, 2025 will go down as one of the ⁠top three⁠ warmest years in the 176-year observational record. Climate-change-fueled extreme weather continues to wreak havoc on communities across the world. And yet, it's not all bad news.  As Bill McKibben points out, we now live on a planet where the cheapest form of energy basically comes from pointing a piece of glass at the sun. And globally, renewable energy surpassed coal for the first time ever. Despite the federal government's attacks on climate science and policy, local climate action is still happening across the country and globe, and each of us holds power to make change. As we mourn the tragic loss of sixteen pure neshamot who were killed in Sydney, Australia, we are reminded once again that in every generation they rise up against us. We are reminded that we are still in galut, yearning for the coming of the Mashiach, when we will no longer experience terror or sadness. Those who were murdered al kidush Hashem are now in the highest realms of Gan Eden, basking in the radiance of the Shechinah. Their friends and families, however, are left reeling from the tragedy, struggling to understand how their loved ones could be taken in such a horrific way. As we begin the holiday of Chanukah, we must internalize that although it is impossible for us to comprehend the ways of Hashem in this world, we know this is yet another part of His master plan. Hashem is the One who takes lives, and He is the One who will restore them. He has always protected us throughout the generations, though at times we needed to experience forms of affliction beforehand. He is the One who obliterated the Egyptians after they enslaved us for centuries. He saved us from Amalek when we were caught off guard. He saved us from Balak and Bil'am whcen we did not even know how much danger we were in. He saved us from Sanheriv's army, killing 185,000 soldiers in a single night without us lifting a finger. He saved us from the hands of Haman and Ahashverosh. The mighty Greeks issued decrees to tear us away from our Torah. They, like all the other nations, were jealous of our connection to Hashem and sought to destroy it. And once again, Hashem sent heavenly assistance to His people to defeat the strongest empire in the world. The celebration of Chanukah was not that we were physically saved. The celebration was that the light of our Torah and mitzvot was going to continue shining brightly. To make it clear that it is our Torah and mitzvot that are the most precious things we have in this world, Hashem made an additional miracle and kept the flames of the menorah burning for eight days and nights. Our nation is eternal. Our adherence to Torah and mitzvot are the keys to our success. Our response to tragedy must be to redouble our efforts in the performance of mitzvot. A small amount of light can push away a large amount of darkness. Right now, a thick cloud of darkness hovers over us. We ache for our brothers and sisters who are deeply affected by this devastating event. A time of joy has turned into one of grief. We must empathize with those in pain, pray for the injured, and beseech Hashem to console the mourners. We must also use this moment as a personal calling to come closer to Hashem. It will be our collective efforts that bring about the greatest day in history—the day of Bila HaMavet LaNetsach, Umachah Hashem Dima Me'al Kol Panim. The day when there will be no more death, and Hashem Himself will wipe away the tears of all who have suffered. For now, we are still in the dark. But the candles we light on Chanukah will pierce that darkness. Every mitzvah we perform and every word of Torah we learn adds more light to the world. Let us linger a bit longer by the nerot Chanukah, praying for those who are suffering. Let us devote more time to our families, offering chizuk and inspiration to help them grow in the ways of Hashem. Our Torah and mitzvot are our greatest tools. May we be zocheh to witness the greatest light of all—the Or of the Mashiah. Then all the nations of the world will recognize the glory of Hashem and understand that we are His treasured children.
