SO MUCH TO BREAK DOWN!! James Gunn finally speaks out on the Superman drama, addressing everything from box office projections and power scaling to that now-infamous VFX shot and why he intentionally made Superman vulnerable. In this week's Reel Rejects Podcast, Greg & the gang break down Gunn's candid remarks about Marvel's content struggles, Disney mandates, and his current Batman dilemma — including the future of the Matt Reeves / Robert Pattinson Batman, potential crossover, and why getting Batman right in the DCU is so difficult. We also cover 28 Years Later box office projections, fan reactions, and whether its darker tone and cliffhanger could hurt the sequel's future. Plus, F1's insane $200M–$300M budget, box office break-even targets, and the Tom Cruise hype engine. We talk Fantastic Four's confirmed lead-in to Avengers, concern over Marvel's Ironheart marketing (or lack of it), and the Saw rights returning to James Wan & Leigh Whannell — is a Blumhouse reboot on the way? Then the biggest news drops: Marvel Studios officially announces the director for the upcoming X-Men movie in the MCU! Upcoming DCU projects confirmed by DC Studios include: Superman (2025), Creature Commandos (animated), Waller (Viola Davis-led series), The Authority, Booster Gold, Lanterns (featuring Hal Jordan and John Stewart), Paradise Lost (Themyscira prequel series), The Brave and the Bold (new Batman & Damian Wayne movie), Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Swamp Thing, and more unannounced Elseworlds films (The Batman Part II, Joker: Folie à Deux).Confirmed MCU projects include: Deadpool & Wolverine (2025), Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts, Blade, Fantastic Four, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (retitled Avengers: Doomsday), Avengers: Secret Wars, X-Men (TBA), Spider-Man 4, Ironheart, Daredevil: Born Again, Agatha All Along, Wonder Man, Armor Wars, Marvel Zombies, Spider-Man: Freshman Year, and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. #Superman #JamesGunn #Xmen #Marvel #MCU #FantasticFour #Fantastic4 #BradPitt #28YearsLater #28DaysLater #Batman #TheBatman #Spiderman #Thunderbolts #Daredevil #BLumhouse #Jigsaw #Saw #Podcast #Review #Movie #moviereview Follow Coy Jandreau: Tik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@coyjandreau?l... Welcome back to the Marvel TV Cast on the Podcastica Network — where Jim and Kirk continue their coverage of Daredevil: Born Again, season one. This week, we're breaking down Daredevil: Born Again Episode 8, as the tension boils over and old identities are no longer hiding in the shadows. In Episode 8, Matt Murdock fully reclaims the mantle of Daredevil, both in suit and spirit. As Wilson Fisk tightens his grip on New York's political and criminal spheres, Matt teams up with Foggy and Karen once again, rekindling old alliances and trust. Meanwhile, Fisk's enforcer, Detective Cole North, begins to question his loyalty after witnessing the Kingpin's brutal methods. The episode's emotional core centers on Matt's struggle to reconcile his faith with his need for justice — leading to a final rooftop confrontation that reignites the Hell's Kitchen war. The final moments tease a return to classic Daredevil — red suit, billy clubs, and a moral line that's ready to be tested.—-------------------------------Join the Zedheads, or just show support to an amazing grou and get ad-free episodes: https://www.patreon.com/jasoncabassiJoin our Facebook group: facebook.com/groups/podcasticaWhen a show is in season, we put up a post for each episode to get your feedback.Email or send a voice message: talk@podcastica.comSocial: facebook.com/podcastica & twitter.com/podcasticaOr make a one-time donation for all of our awesome podcasts at buymeacoffee.com/cabassi (thank you!)—-------------------------------Theme Music: Created by Daniel Herrara who can be found on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@DanielHComposerNews Music:=====================Original music by Savfk ( / savfkmusic www.facebook.com/savfkmusic)Hell's Kitchen by Savfk - Music is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License (http://bit.ly/CreativeCommons4-0). / savfk Music promoted by Royalty Free Music Library: • Royalty Free Music Library ♫ Hell's Kitchen =====================Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

"Daredevil: Born Again" continues the story of "Daredevil" following its cancellation in 2018 with Charlie Cox reprising his role as Matt Murdock / Daredevil from Marvel's Netflix television series and prior Marvel Studios productions. It was a long journey to get to this point, but the superhero show was met with critical acclaim when it premiered on Disney+ earlier this spring, with season 2 currently in production. Cox was kind enough to spend some time speaking with us about his work and experience making the series, which you can listen to below. Assembling this team of super editors happened through various means. Stephanie credits her introduction to Marvel through a mentor, while Melissa explains how her work in Marvel's SECRET INVASION showcased her skills in creating grounded action sequences, helping to streamline both budgets and timelines. MOON KNIGHT veteran Cedric, on the other hand, found his way to the series through fortuitous timing during a project lull. DAREDEVIL BORN AGAIN begins several years after the events of the Netflix-hosted DAREDEVIL (2015–2018) and a year after blind lawyer Matt Murdock stopped his activities as the masked vigilante Daredevil. In the new series, Murdock continues his fight for justice as a lawyer while former crime boss Wilson Fisk is elected mayor of New York City, putting the pair on a collision course. CEDRIC NAIRN-SMITH In addition to his work on DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN, Cedric is known for his work as an editor on; MOON KNIGHT (2022), LISEY'S STORY (2021), THE BOYS (2019-2020) and BATES MOTEL (2015-2017). The Guys are well over 300 episodes into Season 1 of this podcast, which begs the question: at what point does it become, “Guys of a Certain Age, Born Again?” The bigger question may be: is the world even ready for that? (See show notes around episode 400 for details.) This episode begins, as usual, with exciting news from the world of geekdom. You heard it here second. Superman is ever closer with a tremendous trailer released, with some subtle changes and fodder for a product tie-in you might not have expected. MAX seems to be channeling Prince and his identity crisis. One iconic hero may get an extended cut, while another planned trilogy seems destined for a duology. There's a lot going on this week. And not long ago, Daredevil: Born Again, Season 1 completed its run, and that's what The Guys hash out today. Reviews are mixed among the gentlemen co-hosts, but no thumbs were down. Even with a bit of “it was fine” in the air, there's still hope for Season 2, "Born Again Anew.” Please listen to this episode, then again.

Bonjour!Today you have Jake flying solo to use you all as proxy therapists for his Peter Pan issues...I mean I am going to discuss the state of the MCU and why things are worse now than ever before. The MCU is moving into irrelevance faster than any could have imagined with well-reviewed shows and movies like Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Daredevil Born Again and Thunderbolts all failing to make money or draw eyeballs in meaningful ways. Rumors and leaks from Spider-Man 4, Avengers Doomsday & Secret Wars, and Fantastic Four paint a very dour picture as Feige and his MCUnderlings JUST realized this week that they might have a creative quality issue and not just a production timing/quantity issue. With Andor's strong reception and good hype surrounding Gunn's upcoming Superman film, Marvel and the MCU are in danger of falling from their perch above Nerd fandom and I am beginning to doubt if Feige can do the one thing he needs to in order to get back on track -- make a good movie THAT PEOPLE ACTUALLY WANT TO SEE.Ball don't lie my friends and right now the MCU has zero game.
Daredevil: Born Again season 1, episode 10. Everything comes to a head in the season finale. Fisk and Vanessa's plans are explained, and old friends return. Matt as Daredevil takes on a new role. See you guys next season!
In this week's episode of That Comic Podcast, we're diving deep into all the latest breaking news and nerdy goodness shaking up the comic and cinematic universes! We kick things off with the official delays of Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. Marvel's big hitters have shifted to December 2026 and 2027 respectively — and trust us, it might be a blessing in disguise. Better CGI, polished scripts, and more room between Marvel and Star Wars drops? We break it all down. Then, we go full throttle on the Ghost Rider casting rumor — no, it's not Nic Cage, but the Russos are allegedly cooking something spicy with the Spirit of Vengeance for Avengers: Doomsday. Could Ryan Gosling be the next flamehead? Next up, rumors swirl around Spider-Man 4: Scorpion, Boomerang, Tombstone, and maybe Mister Negative? We talk casting, leaks, and the potential return of Better Call Saul's Michael Mando. We also discuss Krysten Ritter being spotted on the set of Daredevil: Born Again, and Disney+ going all-in on Emmy submissions for Daredevil and Agatha All Along. Plus:
Christian Bladt welcomes back to the show Katie Kawamoto to talk about Thunderbolts*, but not before they run throgh all of the latest Marvel news, including Doomsday & Secret Wars rescheduled, Jessica Jones in season 2 of Daredevil Born Again, Vision Quest, Ironheart and a Deadpool-Batman team-up. This week on Grumpy Old Geeks: FOLLOW UP kicks off with Manus madness, a $2 million ticket to Trump's crypto cash-grab, and Elon's Boring Company worming its way into an $8 billion Amtrak boondoggle. Meanwhile, CryptoPunks gets handed off to a nonprofit like an expired Groupon—proof the NFT hype cycle ends with a 501(c)(3) and a shrug.IN THE NEWS, Microsoft trims another 3% of its workforce while a former Metaverse engineer delivers DoorDash from a trailer—living proof that “the future of work” is just working for the apps. Klarna quietly admits AI sucks at customer service and hires back actual people, just as OpenAI's reasoning models hit the brakes. The Pope wants to exorcise AI, Elon's backfiring Copyright Office coup leaves him empty-handed, and YouTube starts banning AI-faked trailers that made Screen Culture money off Marvel lies. Jamie Lee Curtis goes full Final Girl on Zuckerberg, and Tesla drama ramps up: robotaxis under investigation, employees revolting, and one poor dealership manager gets canned for telling the truth about ol' Musky. Oh, and scientists say the universe might die sooner than expected—cool cool cool.In MEDIA CANDY, Murderbot arrives May 16, NIN launches the Future Ruins Festival, and Star Trek and Star Wars both dig up classic soundtracks for some retro feels. Jessica Jones returns in Daredevil: Born Again, Fallout gets Seasons 2 and 3, and even Nobody 2 is back for more murder-dad mayhem. In THE DARK SIDE WITH DAVE, Mr. Bittner shares two truly bleak customer service horror stories and gets bamboozled by a flower shop on Brian's birthday (happy birthday, Brian!). On this week's new episode we discuss the latest installment in the MCU: Thunderbolts*But first, why does Cody always need to have the first word? Did this movie have stereotypical MCU humor? Is Marvel back? Did Florence Pugh have an amazing performance as Yelena? Does knowing about The Sentry beforehand spoil the movie? Is Lewis Pullman a nepo baby? What did we think of Wyatt Russell as US Agent? Do we care about Taskmaster? Was this movie overhyped or is this the best post-Endgame movie? Does Jake regret seeing this in theaters? How does this stack up to Captain America: Brave New World and Daredevil: Born Again? What's our post-Endgame rankings? Is the way the movie handles depression too ham-fisted? Did we like Sentry's costume? How does this compare to The Suicide Squad? How does this movie mirror other aspects of the MCU? Did Bucky have Terminator vibes? Should Baron Zemo have been on the team? Which of us are Team U.S. Agent? Who would we be on the Thunderbolts? Was Julia Louis-Dreyfus a great villain? Did Anthony expect them to be called The Dark Avengers? Who's on Sam Wilson's Avengers? What was Wilson Fisk doing in the Void? Does this movie require a lot of previous MCU knowledge? Did Thunderbolts have good post-credit scenes? Is God Emperor Doom coming? Can the Avengers beat Sentry?Check out our website: https://www.comicsandchronic.com/New episodes every THURSDAYFollow us on social media!
