Hi friends, happy Wednesday! Did you know one of America's deadliest riots actually started inside a theater in New York. But instead of a drunk senator causing the chaos--I'm looking at you, Lauren Boebert--it was caused by two actors, with decades of beef between them. And this beef turned into blood in the streets...and I *NEVER* hear anyone talking about it! I appreciate you for coming by, and tune in next week for more Dark History. Want some cool Bailey Merch? Tonight's sleep story is Twelfth Night as retold by Edith Nesbit. You might know the story of twins, a shipwreck, and the love triangle of Orsino, Viola, and Olivia originally written by William Shakespeare. This adaptation by Edith Nesbit condenses and simplifies the story. If you're still awake, the stories are The Tempest, The Winter's Tale and Cymbeline.Interested in more sleepy content or just want to support the show? What better way to get ready to ring in 2019 by grabbing 2018 by the balls and flinging it as far away as possible with another bonus minisode from the ON!LC vault? ...This metaphor may have gotten away from us. In this episode, Megan has a petty pet peeve over famous miscontextualized phrases from literature and people's habits of getting them tattooed on their bodies. Meanwhile, RJ embraces the inherent meaninglessness of the universe, and we learn that the person meant to watch the watchmen is supposed to be keeping them from having sex with someone's wife...yup.

The We Got This! Podcast, created and hosted by Hal Lublin and Mark Gagliardi, settles such important and earth-shattering cultural debates as what is the Best Donut, the Best Toilet Paper, and Best Muppet. But recently, with the help of the RSC's own Austin Tichenor, they settled something truly important: What is, actually, Shakespeare's greatest play. This week we present to you the abridged version of Episode 113 of the We Got This! Podcast, featuring truly lively banter, questionable priorities, varying definitions of ‘expert,' Shakespearean references to both Scooby-Doo and Freddy Krueger, living with mistakes, the legacy of Henry V's St. Crispin's Day speech, adherence to the Aristotelian unities, the challenge of appreciating Shakespeare's greatness without acknowledging his flaws, suggested new opening lines for Twelfth Night, and ultimately a shocking (or maybe not-so-shocking) result. (Leave your comments below.) (Length 30:10)
You guys, this show is a whole year old! In celebration, we bring you, from the depths of Shakespearean obscurity: Titus Andronicus, the play that asks “What if Shakespeare was possessed by Eli Roth and then wrote a play?” and “Can you do a Michael Caine impression without a tongue?” and also “Are goth kids still a thing?” Enjoy the murder, mayhem, and monologuing that only Big Willy can provide.
Big Willy Shakespeare returns! We learn about Amleth, the original Norse myth that’s better in every way, just how bad the “Bad Quarto” version of the play is, and why when your ghost dad tells you to stab your uncle in the taint you really shouldn’t overthink it. Featuring a special segment dedicated to discussing the NY Public Theater’s current production of Hamlet, starring Oscar Issac – and more importantly – Oscar Isaac’s butt.
