I used to weigh 300 pounds. I tried every restrictive diet, became a vegan, and trained 90 minutes a day for 18 months with absolute zero results. Everything changed when I drank a cup of yak butter tea at 18,300 feet in Tibet. Within 30 seconds, my severe brain fog lifted, and my metabolism completely shifted. In this video, I break down exactly why adding sugar to your morning coffee is destroying your metabolism, spiking your insulin, and keeping you fat. I explain the hard science behind the alternative: blending "fat cubes" (grass-fed butter) and MCT oil into your coffee. I reveal how this specific combination of butyrate, CLA, and medium-chain triglycerides bypasses traditional digestion to go straight to your liver, instantly converting into ketones for pure brain fuel. You'll learn how eating more fat actually trains your body to burn its own stored fat, allowing me to hit 4.8% body fat at 50 years old with a biological age in my 30s—without hunger, without a 3 PM crash, and without living in the gym.Thank you to our sponsors!Suppgrade Labs | Grab your DAKE and Minerals 101 duo at shopsuppgradelabs.com and use code DAVEPOD for 15% off todayViome | Check it out at viome.com and use code 10DAVE for 10% off. Is your chiropractic practice actually a sellable business, or have you accidentally built yourself a job? In this follow-up conversation on preparing your practice for sale, Dr. Lauryn sits down with Dr. Jay LaGuardia to unpack the numbers, systems, and blind spots that determine whether a clinic becomes a valuable asset or quietly closes its doors.Together, they break down EBITDA, practice valuation, multipliers, profitability, private equity, succession planning, and why gross revenue alone does not determine what your practice is worth. Dr. Jay also shares why chiropractors need to increase their financial IQ, how strong systems and predictable cash flow raise practice value, and why waiting until you're tired, injured, or ready to retire may cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars.Key Takeaways:Your practice valuation is based on profitability, predictable cash flow, systems, team, brand, and future earning potential—not just gross revenue. A high-revenue practice can be worth less than a smaller, more profitable clinic if the business fundamentals are weak.EBITDA and multipliers are essential concepts for chiropractic practice owners to understand before they ever think about selling. The stronger your systems, documentation, team, cash flow, and patient base, the stronger your multiplier can become.Chiropractors need to start preparing for succession three to five years before they plan to exit. Illness, disability, burnout, and unexpected life changes can destroy practice value quickly if there is no plan in place.Financial IQ and business IQ are no longer optional for clinic owners. Learning how to read a P&L, understand payroll metrics, and make decisions from abundance instead of scarcity can dramatically change the future of your practice.Guest Bio:Dr. Jay LaGuardia has been an entrepreneurial enthusiast for more than 45 years, beginning his first business journey at just 12 years old. Over the course of his career, he has opened 18 companies across multiple industries, including chiropractic offices, coaching companies, real estate development, fitness studios, podcasting, and more. Rose Miller, aka @rosierollz, is everywhere on BJJ Instagram right now because she does something that sounds simple but is actually incredibly rare: she gives simple but helpful advice. In this episode of the I Suck at Jiu Jitsu Show, Rose and I talk about how to actually learn Jiu Jitsu faster, why so many people waste years training without a real plan, and how a black belt thinks about improvement differently than a beginner. We get into her start in Jiu Jitsu, losing a lot early, competing, getting injured, learning how to learn, teaching white belts and blue belts, creating BJJ content, CLA/ecological training, drilling, women leading in Jiu Jitsu, and why starting every round from your knees is probably making your Jiu Jitsu worse. This is not just a “do these 3 moves” episode. In this episode, the conversation dives deep into one of the most talked-about topics in modern basketball development: the Constraints-Led Approach (CLA). With so many new drills, methods, and opinions flooding the basketball coaching space, the episode breaks down what CLA actually is, what it is not, and why it matters for coaches at every level. Rather than treating the CLA as some revolutionary replacement for traditional coaching, the discussion reframes it as another valuable tool in a coach's toolbox—one rooted in helping athletes learn through problem-solving, exploration, and representative game situations. The episode also explores the balance between innovation and tradition in coaching. From small-sided games and perception-action coupling to the importance of repetition, confidence-building, and technical development, the conversation emphasizes that great coaching is not about blindly following trends or rejecting old methods—it's about understanding when and how to use different approaches. Coaches are encouraged to stay open-minded, continue learning, and ultimately build adaptable systems that serve the individual athlete in front of them.00:00 – Why the Constraints-Led Approach has become confusing in basketball coaching04:27 – The range of opinions on CLA across all coaching levels04:58 – Coaches have always used constraints, even unintentionally05:18 – The difference between using constraints and coaching through a constraints-led approach05:49 – Improving as a coach through innovation, research, and learning science06:06 – Simplifying the scientific definition of the CLA06:33 – Teaching through problem-solving instead of constant verbal instruction06:59 – Environmental, individual, and task constraints explained07:22 – Avoiding survivorship bias in player development07:42 – Why coaches should stay open-minded to new methods07:46 – What the CLA is NOT: misconceptions coaches have08:04 – Why CLA is more than just small-sided games08:21 – Representative learning and why players need game-like environments08:58 – The value of on-air training within a constraints-led framework09:35 – Examples of using constraints in shooting and finishing drills10:33 – Why CLA does not eliminate coaching or verbal teaching10:59 – The “order of operations” for teaching and learning11:27 – Guiding players through questions instead of giving answers11:55 – Removing coach ego from the learning process12:26 – Feel-based decisions vs IQ-based decisions in basketball13:09 – Why some decisions cannot be coached verbally in real time14:12 – The misconception that CLA ignores technique14:35 – Functional movement variability and adaptable skill execution15:06 – Building technique without overloading players with cues15:50 – Repetition, block training, and motor learning16:31 – Confidence-building and groove shooting within skill development17:21 – Why detailed coaching knowledge still matters18:18 – When coaches should explicitly teach versus let players discover19:37 – Adapting coaching styles to different athletes and learning histories20:13 – Why slower learning can lead to better long-term retention21:00 – Balancing quality and quantity of repetitions21:41 – The importance of confidence work in player development22:15 – Why simply “rolling the ball out” is not CLA coaching22:40 – Intentionality and specificity in designing constraints23:09 – Developing a balanced coaching toolbox through continuous learningMake sure to check out our BRAND NEW coaches platform as well as our other resources:Website - https://byanymeanscoaches.com/Book - https://byanymeanscoaches.com/blueprint-bookIf you enjoyed this episode, make sure to subscribe, leave a review, and share it with another coach who's looking to improve their teaching and player development process. Are you planning on the sale of your practice to fund your retirement, but waiting until you're already exhausted to think about it? In this episode, Dr. Lauryn sits down with Dr. Ruth Mannschreck to talk about why practice owners need to start preparing for a future sale years before they ever plan to leave.Together, they discuss how to increase the value of your clinic beyond revenue, why selling on an upward trend matters, and how owner dependency, weak systems, referral risks, and team uncertainty can hurt your resale value. Ruth also shares what she learned from selling two practices, why your team should be part of the transition conversation, and how to build a clinic that is more turnkey, more transferable, and more aligned with the legacy you actually want to leave behind.Key Takeaways:Preparing your practice to sell should start long before retirement. The strongest sales happen when the clinic is still growing, energized, and positioned as a valuable opportunity—not when the owner is burned out and ready to escape.Your practice value is about more than revenue. Referral systems, team culture, intellectual property, patient retention, vendor relationships, and documented SOPs can all help make your clinic more attractive to the right buyer.Owner dependency can kill a future sale. If the practice runs entirely on your face, your name, your hours, or your personal relationships, a buyer may see it as purchasing a job instead of a business.A successful transition protects more than your paycheck. The right sale considers your team, your patients, your culture, and the next owner's ability to succeed after you leave.Guest Bio:Dr. Ruth Mannschreck is a dentist, practice management strategist, and owner/founder of Shoreline Strategies LLC. After building a successful dental practice from the ground up, a life-altering family experience led her to reduce her clinical hours from 40 to 25 per week while maintaining and eventually exceeding the practice's previous production levels. That shift inspired her to create a streamlined business model focused on strong systems, high-performing teams, and magnetic company culture. Today, Dr. Ruth helps practice owners build clinics that can run more efficiently, support a better life, and prepare for a stronger eventual sale.Get your free Prep Your Business To Sell ChecklistFind out how you can work with Ruth by visiting Shoreline StrategiesFollow Ruth on LinkedInResources:Follow Dr. Lauryn: Instagram | Facebook | LinkedInFollow She Slays on YouTubeMentioned in this episode:Holistic Marketing HubWant to attract ideal patients to your clinic? Why does your clinic still fall apart, stall out, or wait for you to make every decision? In this solo episode, Dr. Lauryn breaks down the hidden owner dependency patterns that keep practice owners trapped as the answering machine, fixer, manager, and emotional support system for their entire team.Dr. Lauryn unpacks how clinics become dependent on the owner, why taking tasks back teaches your team to rely on you, and how hover parenting, unclear delegation, and lack of project management skills keep your practice from truly running without you. She also explains the difference between working in, on, and over your clinic, and gives listeners an owner dependency audit to start identifying where their team still needs them too much.Key Takeaways:Owner dependency is often created by the leader, not the team. When practice owners answer too quickly, take tasks back, or silently fix mistakes, they train employees to wait for direction instead of developing initiative.Delegation requires clarity, not vague frustration. Your team cannot fully own a task until you clearly define what needs to be done, what good execution looks like, and what level of decision-making they are responsible for.Moving from operator to CEO means teaching your team how to think. True clinic freedom comes when employees can solve problems, bring solutions, use SOPs, leverage AI, and manage projects without constantly relying on the owner's brain. An owner dependency audit is the first step toward freedom. By tracking the questions, decisions, tasks, edits, reminders, and emotional load that still come back to you, you can see exactly where your clinic is still built around your involvement.Resources:Follow Dr. Lauryn: Instagram | Facebook | LinkedInFollow She Slays on YouTubeMentioned in this episode:Holistic Marketing HubHolistic Marketing HubTo learn more about CLA and the INSiGHT scanner go to the link below and enter code SHESLAYS when prompted.CLA

In this week's episode, we're joined by Dr. Dave Collins for a wide-ranging conversation on coaching, skill acquisition, practice design, and the importance of knowing when different methods fit.As ecological dynamics, the constraints-led approach, cognitive science, and predictive processing continue to shape modern coaching conversations, Dave brings a balanced and practical lens to the discussion. Rather than treating any one approach as the answer, he pushes coaches toward a more useful question: what are we trying to achieve, with this group, in this moment, and why?The conversation explores how coaches can blend different approaches across the season, from early skill development and player understanding, to building shared mental models, anticipation, team coordination, and decision-making under pressure. Dave also discusses the role of film, small-sided games, representative practice design, and the value of moving between “thinking slow” and “playing fast.”We also dive into resilience, failure, and the “informed art” of coaching, including how coaches can design challenges, debrief effectively, and help players learn from both good and bad days without turning every setback into a vague motivational slogan. For coaches interested in ecological dynamics, constraints-led coaching, cognitive science, predictive processing, player development, anticipation, practice design, and team learning, this episode offers a grounded look at how theory can become more useful inside real coaching environments. What You'll Learn How ecological dynamics, cognitive science, and predictive processing can all fit inside a coach's toolkit Why the best coaching answer is often not “which method is best?” but “what does it depend on?” How coaches can build shared mental models within a team Why film still matters, even inside representative and constraints-led practice environments How to use small-sided games, whole-part-whole teaching, and purposeful practice design Why anticipation is shaped by experience, scouting, understanding, and focused attention How coaches can move players from “thinking slow” to “playing fast” Why resilience is often overused, misunderstood, and better treated as an outcome than a fixed trait How to design challenge, failure, and pressure without overwhelming players Why adaptive expertise may be one of the most important qualities for modern coachesTo join coaches and championship winning staffs from the NBA to High School from over 70 different countries taking advantage of an SG Plus membership, visit HERE!

Are you leading your business… or slowly becoming the bottleneck holding it back? Why do so many healthcare entrepreneurs end up exhausted, resentful, and trapped inside practices they built themselves? In this episode, Dr. Lauryn sits down with leadership expert and author Jim Brown to unpack the hidden leadership patterns that quietly destroy culture, momentum, and fulfillment inside growing businesses.Together, they discuss the dangers of “hero leadership,” why perfectionism and control create disengaged teams, and how collaborative cultures are intentionally built. Jim breaks down the four stages of organizational health, including leadership accountability, strategic momentum, and talent magnetism. Lauryn also shares her own evolution as a clinic owner, learning how to stop leading every conversation and start empowering her team to think, solve problems, and lead alongside her.Key TakeawaysStrong leadership culture requires collaboration, vulnerability, and accountability—not control, perfectionism, or micromanagement.Business growth happens faster when CEOs stop being the bottleneck and start empowering high-performing teams.Strategic momentum is built through realistic goals, team ownership, and consistent wins that create confidence and trust.Healthy workplace culture attracts top talent naturally, reducing turnover and creating long-term organizational growth.About the GuestJim Brown is the founder and CEO of OrgHealth and a former consulting partner with Patrick Lencioni's Table Group. From Motivation to Incentivization: How PPFG Changes Everything Most practice owners try to motivate their teams, but motivation is unreliable and short-lived. Incentivization, on the other hand, is structural and drives consistent behavior. When incentives are unclear or misaligned, teams default to average effort instead of tapping into discretionary energy. Dr. Pete and Dr. Stephen break down how to intentionally connect outcomes, behaviors, and rewards so that performance becomes predictable and scalable. By aligning incentives with what truly matters and using the PPFG (Personal, Professional, Financial Goals) framework to uncover what drives each team member, leaders can create an environment where people are fully engaged, retention improves, and growth becomes inevitable. In This Episode You Will: Understand why incentivization drives performance more than motivation. Learn how to connect behaviors to outcomes through clear KPIs. Discover how discretionary energy separates good teams from great ones. Clarify how alignment unlocks higher performance and fulfillment. See how personal, professional, and financial goals fuel retention and growth. Episode Highlights 02:23 - Explore how alignment between purpose, performance, and profitability unlocks sustained energy and engagement. 03:43 - Discover how discretionary energy represents the hidden performance multiplier inside every team member. 04:50 - Examine the structured process of linking outcomes to behaviors as the foundation for effective incentivization. 06:26 - Differentiate alignment as the true driver of success beyond effort or activity alone. 09:02 - Uncover how removing judgment allows leaders to better understand what truly motivates individual team members. 11:05 - Identify the importance of creating mechanisms that ensure consistent and meaningful incentivization conversations. 14:15 - Reveal how lack of clarity around personal, professional, and financial goals leads to disengagement and eventual turnover. 17:26 - Clarify how a humble, relationship-first approach strengthens trust and opens the door for deeper alignment. 21:31 - Understand that helping people achieve their goals becomes the strongest driver of long-term retention. 22:41 - Recognize that failure to grow is the most expensive outcome, reinforcing the necessity of aligned incentives and performance systems. 25:06 - Dr. Chris is joined by Success Partner, Dr. David Fletcher of CLA to explore how neurocentric scanning technology transforms chiropractic communication and practice growth. They discuss using objective nervous system data to improve retention, scale with team leverage, increase PVA, and strengthen certainty in care planning. CLA's technology enhances attraction, conversion, collections, and long-term scalability. Demasiados "demasiados". Es lunes, perdón.

Families are complex, and family dynamics and the emotional undercurrents that run through the relationships among family members present a unique challenge for both clients and professionals in our field. Dan shares his experience on how families get to the active conflict stage, and he describes the common pathways and the ways family members and their family offices can recognize them. In many cases, significant changes – and resulting conflicts – within a family are triggered by the death of a key family principal. So, one practical consideration is to distinguish between pre-mortem and post-mortem conflict situations. Dan talks about the main differences between family conflicts that take place before vs. after a major death in the family. Active conflict can be very painful for families. Dan provides an outline of the options available to families for managing and resolving active conflict, including the different professional channels and techniques they can resort to. Don't miss this illuminating conversation with a leading expert and practitioner in the field of family conflict management and resolution.

What does it really take to pay off massive student loan debt? Is aggressive repayment the smartest move—or just the most freeing one? In this from the vault episode, and the second installment of our three-week student loan series, Dr. Lauryn and Kirby revisit their own journey of eliminating $175,000 in student loans in five years, sharing the mindset shifts, sacrifices, and lessons they learned along the way. If debt feels overwhelming, this conversation will give you clarity, hope, and practical direction. They break down income-driven repayment plans, interest traps, budgeting strategies, lifestyle downsizing, staying aligned as a couple, avoiding comparison culture, and using raises, bonuses, and extra income to accelerate payoff. They also reveal what they wish they had done differently while still in school, and why becoming debt free changed their lives far beyond money.Key Takeaways:Student loan repayment starts with knowing your numbers. Understand your total balance, interest rates, repayment options, and how much of each payment actually hits principal.Paying off debt fast often requires lifestyle tradeoffs. Smaller housing, cheaper cars, tighter budgets, and resisting comparison can create massive long-term financial freedom.Windfalls should become wealth builders. Raises, bonuses, tax refunds, and side income can dramatically shorten payoff timelines when redirected toward debt.Debt freedom is emotional as much as financial. Removing a six-figure burden can reduce stress, improve relationships, and create future flexibility.Resources:Follow Dr. Lauryn: Instagram | Facebook | LinkedInFollow She Slays on YouTubeMentioned in this episode:To learn more about CLA and the INSiGHT scanner go to the link below and enter code SHESLAYS when prompted.CLAHolistic Marketing HubHolistic Marketing Hub

I was delighted this week to visit again with Alexandra Dunn, President and Chief Executive Officer of CropLife America (CLA), and my colleague Jim Aidala, to discuss some of the issues facing the crop protection industry. Alex's amazing career has prepared her well for her demanding job. After graduating from law school and a brief stint in private practice, Alex served as general counsel for the National Association of Clean Water Agencies, then went on to become the Executive Director and General Counsel of the Association of Clean Water Administrators before serving as Executive Director and General Counsel of the Environmental Council of the States. In 2018, Alex served as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 1 (New England) Administrator and was, in 2019, appointed Assistant Administrator of EPA's Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention (OCSPP), where she served until 2021. Alex returned to private practice here in Washington, D.C. before becoming President and CEO of CropLife America in 2024. Last year, Alex was appointed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to serve on the Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee for Trade. As if this were not enough, Alex has served as Chair of the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Environment Energy and Resources, as Dean of Environmental Law Programs at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, has served on the Board of Directors of the Environmental Law Institute (ELI), and is current President of the American College of Environmental Lawyers (ACOEL). Jim is Senior Government Consultant at B&C and, like Alex, a past Assistant Administrator of the EPA Toxics Office, known now as OSCPP. Alex, Jim, and I discuss agriculture and trade policy, how CLA has been addressing "Make America Healthy Again" (MAHA issues), crop protection and agricultural chemical communication issues, some pesticide registration challenges, preemption, and even some Endangered Species Act (ESA) issues. Farmers in Northern Ireland have been holding tractor protests and blocking traffic. They're asking for more financial help as they face rising fuel prices. The government in the Republic of Ireland has told farmers there, that 100 million euros are being made available to support them. The huge rises in fuel costs since the war in the Middle East, may be putting pressure on households across the UK, but farmers say their costs are being pushed so high, they could be facing a crisis for their businesses. The Country, Land and Business Association, the CLA, has revealed it made two bogus applications for licensed waste carrying. Businesses can apply for these licences and then charge people to take away their rubbish. The CLA made the applications to prove the system is flawed, one application was made on behalf of a cow called Beau Vine and another for a fictitious character called Laurie Load, both were approved by the online system, with no checks. National Parks are celebrating 75 years of existence and we're talking about them all week. Today, we're heading to the Black Mountains in Bannau Bryceiniog or the Brecon Beacons as it's also known, where a peat land restoration project is making a big difference to the landscape.Presenter = Anna Hill Producer = Rebecca Rooney

Why do so many doctors feel stuck when it comes to building a personal brand? Is it lack of time, confidence, or just not knowing where to start? In this episode, Dr. Lauryn sits down with Dr. Tara Carlson to unpack the real reasons healthcare providers stay on the sidelines—and what finally pushes them to take action. If you've ever thought “I should be doing something online… but I'm not ready yet,” this conversation will hit close to home.Together, they dive into Tara's journey from years of hesitation to finally launching her brand, how personal experience shaped her niche, and why perfection is the biggest thing holding doctors back. They also discuss overcoming fear of being on camera, why B-minus work wins online, how to stop chasing views, and why 2026 is the year doctors start reclaiming authority in the online health space.Key Takeaways:Perfection is the enemy of consistency in personal branding. Doctors often delay starting because they aim for A+ content, but consistent B-minus execution is what actually builds authority and traction online.Your personal story is your most powerful marketing asset. As more doctors enter the online space, early adopters still have a massive opportunity to establish authority and capture attention.About the Guest:Dr. Tara Carlson is a chiropractor specializing in nervous system health and metabolic healing.
