As believers in Jesus, we are called to bear witness to the light of God amid an increasingly dark and weary world. What does it mean to be a witness for Christ? When people look at us do they see the goodness and love of God? If you are searching for a study that reveals what it means to resemble our Savior, Tara Beth Leach has a six-week Bible study experience in the letters of John that dives deep into what it means to Live in the Light. Tara tells us more about her study in the letters of John, pointing to the incredible love of God and His desire for us to live out that love with one another on Mornings with Seth and Deb. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In this conversation, Tara Beth Leach shares her personal journey of discovering a deeper relationship with Jesus as a teenager, moving beyond a "cultural Christianity" to truly affirming her faith. She emphasizes the importance of living in Christian community and bearing witness to the love and grace of God, rather than just fighting against culture. Tara Beth also discusses the challenges faced by the early church, as described in John's letters, and how they relate to divisions and strife in the church today. She highlights the need to cultivate the fruit of the Spirit through practices like abiding in Christ, following a rule of life, and discerning truth through a Jesus-centered lens. Ultimately, Tara Beth issues a call for the church to return to the radiant teachings of Jesus and repent of any posturing or baggage that has caused the church to lose its witness in the world. This is a powerful and timely message for the church today, as we seek to be a light in the darkness and embody the love and grace of Christ. Join us as we learn to live in the light. This week we are with pastor and author Tara Beth Leach. Tara Beth has been massively influential in my faith. Recently she has released her new book called "Radiant Church". It's clear that the western Church is sick, something is wrong, but not all hope is lost. God is calling us to lament abuse, nationalism, individualism, and the many other signs of sickness we are seeing in our churches. It's time to begin to repent, and in doing so we can pick up the call to be the radiant Church that God is calling us to be. We hope you enjoy this episode!

What does it mean to be a radiant witness for Christ? In this episode, Heather talks to Tara Beth Leach about the difficulties of being a woman in ministry as well as the struggles of being a faithful Christian in increasingly divided times. Tara has endured attacks on her witness both online and offline but has continued to pour her heart into the work to which God has called her. Despite the battered reputation of the North American church, Tara is optimistic about the church's future. She is honest, reflective, and blunt about the present state of evangelicalism, while affirming the abiding hope that Christians have in Christ. About Our Guest: Tara Beth Leach is a pastor, preacher, and writer. She speaks widely at conferences, retreats, and universities across America on church leadership, women in ministry, and the call to be a “radiant witness.” She is a pastor at Christ Church of Oak Brook in the western suburbs of Chicago and previously served as senior pastor of First Church of the Nazarene of Pasadena (“PazNaz”) in Southern California. In this episode, Jenn welcomes Author, Speaker, & Pastor Tara Beth Leach to the podcast for an in depth conversation on church; what is looks like, challenges it faces, and how to partner with Christ in bringing Heaven to Earth. We dive into some themes found in her recent book, Radient Church; including "Restoring the credibility of our witness". The church has faced a lot of challenges in the last couple years, but this conversation will encourage those in church ministry, church leadership, or church attendees that God is still working and moving through the church. Tara Beth Leach is an author of popular titles such as Emboldened, Kingdom Culture, and Radiant Church and is a Pastor of Christ Church in Oak Brook, Illinois.
Something is not right. The witness of the church in North America is eroding. Many Christians are alarmed by the decline in church attendance and seek a culprit. Too often, we point the finger away from the church, make culture the enemy, and build walls between us and others. But our antagonism and enemy-making are toxins that further eat away at our witness. Is there a better way? Tara Beth Leach joins Lynn Cohick and Sareen Musselman to give practical advice on how the church can reclaim her witness. Tara Beth Leach could easily be one of those millennials giving up on the church. Instead, she is a pastor who loves the church and is paradoxically hopeful for its future. In an era where the church has lost much of its credibility, Leach casts a radiant vision for Christians to rediscover a robust, attractive witness. We need to name the toxic soil we've grown in, repent for past wrongs, and lean into a better way to become the church that Jesus proclaimed we would be.

In this episode, we had a great conversation with Tara Beth Leach about what the Church can be. Tara Beth is a pastor, speaker, writer, and encourager, who has served as a pastor in the Nazarene tradition in Pasadena, California and suburban Chicago. She is the author of Kingdom Culture, Emboldened, and most recently, Radiant Church: Restoring the Credibility of Our Witness. She calls herself a “prisoner of hope” — with a vision for seeing the Church find itself in revival in our day. That heart comes through in this conversation. We hope you listen.
Suanne & author, pastor and influencer Tara Beth Leach discuss Tara Beth's new book, Radiant Church. Learn why Tara Beth calls the church to lament and repent, and to be the kind of people who reflect the goodness and grace of God in a polarized world. We also discuss how rooting ourselves in the wrong story can tarnish our witness, what some of those false storylines are and how we can root ourselves more deeply in the story of Christ.
On this episode of Hope Unabridged, Kasey & Angie focus on a new book entitled, The Radiant Church, written by Tara Beth Leach. On top of being an author, Tara is also a pastor at Christ Church of Oak Brook in Chicago. The Radiant Church delves deep into the idea of rebuilding our credibility as "the Church", and shifting to become the radiant Church that God intended for us to be.
