What is the difference between religion and relationship? The stories that are told between us.  Religion focuses on rules and adherence to those rules. While people sometimes use the term "the church" as shorthand for the Vatican or the magisterium, the church is, strictly speaking, all its members, regardless of gender or vocation. So, while Catholic women are barred from holy orders and from most ministerial and leadership roles in the church, that doesn't mean they have no voice in the church.  Catholic women teach theology, catechetics, and preaching. They manage schools and universities. They serve on dicasteries and advisory boards. Women religious take the lead in social justice initiatives. Catholic women work as editors and journalists in religious media.  Some Catholic women even help train priests. And many do tireless—often thankless—work to keep parishes running smoothly.  But does all this mean that women have an equal voice in the church? On this episode of the podcast, the hosts talk to award-winning journalist Heidi Shlumpf. For three decades, Schlumpf has covered religion, politics, and women's issues. Currently senior correspondent at Commonweal magazine, she has also worked as columnist, correspondent, executive editor, and vice president at the National Catholic Reporter, and as managing editor at U.S. Catholic. She has written for multiple other outlets and is the author of Elizabeth A. Tripp is a former Radio DJ with 20 years of experience, most of that taking place in Memphis, TN where he was raised.  Now that Tripp lives in West Michigan, he currently serves inside the Kent County Jail with Reach the Forgotten Ministries. He also reaches out to other incarcerated folks inside the State Prison in Muskegon. In the past, Tripp has interacted with a number of evangelistic ministries, all of which helped develop his faith and equipped him to share the Gospel with those who don't yet know Him.  He also trained with Living Waters Ministries about doing open-air preaching. And, recently, Tripp did an open-air service in Indianapolis, Indiana during the Final Four basketball series held in that area around Easter time.  Finally, another one of Tripp's interests is theater. He loves acting in plays and even serves on the Board of Directors of Master Arts Theatre here in West Michigan.  In this podcast, Tripp shares how, while his parents raised him in the church, he never became a true follower of Jesus. Twenty-five years ago, Tripp married Nhung, who was a true Christian. She soon realized her husband had only been faking his faith, so she began to pray earnestly that he would soon become a true Christ-follower. It took 10 painful years of addictions and other awful issues to finally see God answer Nhung's prayers. And not only did Tripp then come to Christ, he began to be on fire for Jesus, and that passion continues to this day! He absolutely loves sharing the Gospel with anyone who needs to hear.

God gives us only happiness. He gives us the way to transcend the body and the mind's projections of conflict onto it, and all pain it experiences. God has a higher Will for Joy that is His Will for us. "God's Will for us is perfect happiness." DO we accept that? Have we projected "fear" onto "God" which is the Source of Happiness? We must share in that happiness to realize it, and rise aove the "pains of the body's experience." We are asked to Identify with the Spirit. The natural state of that true Self-Identity is JOY. We choose this as our own will. A mind looking toward Spirit forgives and overlooks the painful experiences of the body, and the mind's misperceptions that brought them on.

LESSON 102I Share God's Will For Happiness For Me.You do not want to suffer. You may think it buys you something, and may still believe a little that it buys you what you want. Yet this belief is surely shaken now, at least enough to let you question it, and to suspect it really makes no sense. It has not gone as yet, but lacks the roots that once secured it tightly to the dark and hidden secret places of your mind.Today we try to loose its weakened hold still further, and to realize that pain is purposeless, without a cause and with no power to accomplish anything. It cannot purchase anything at all. It offers nothing, and does not exist. And everything you think it offers you is lacking in existence, like itself. You have been slave to nothing. Be you free today to join the happy Will of God.For several days we will continue to devote our periods of practicing to exercises planned to help you reach the happiness God's Will has placed in you. Here is your home, and here your safety is. Here is your peace, and here there is no fear. Here is salvation. Here is rest at last.Begin your practice periods today with this acceptance of God's Will for you:I share God's Will for happiness for me,and I accept it as my function now.Then seek this function deep within your mind, for it is there, awaiting but your choice. You cannot fail to find it when you learn it is your choice, and that you share God's Will.Be happy, for your only function here is happiness. You have no need to be less loving to God's Son than He Whose Love created him as loving as Himself. Besides these hourly five-minute rests, pause frequently today, to tell yourself that you have now accepted happiness as your one function. Many of us first believed because of what our parents taught us; but then we heard for ourselves, and we believed. You cannot live on another's faith in Jesus. We must hear the Gospel for ourselves and come to the Lord in our own faith. As Paul tells us in Romans 10:16-17: “But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, ‘Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?'. So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." You will stand before the Lord alone in judgment – you will speak for yourself with only Jesus to speak for you. There are seasons in life when we feel full—full of gratitude, strength, purpose, and blessing—and seasons when we feel painfully empty. In our daily prayer and devotional, Keri Eichberger reflects honestly on times when life seemed to drain every ounce of energy, joy, and margin she had. In moments like these, even thinking about blessing others can feel impossible. Yet God’s Word calls us to a beautiful truth: sharing is not about abundance—it’s about obedience.Scripture reminds us that even the smallest act of kindness is precious in God’s sight. Luke 21:1–4 records Jesus watching a poor widow give two tiny coins in the temple treasury. Though her gift was the smallest, Jesus declared it the greatest because she gave out of her need, trusting God with everything she had. This story reminds us that we never give “too little” when we offer what we have to God. Even if all we feel we can give is a gentle smile, a kind word, a short prayer, or a helping hand, God can take small offerings and multiply them into abundance. And as we share—even from places of weakness—we often find unexpected strength returning to our souls. When we bless others, God restores us.When we pour out, He fills us again.When we give a little, He turns it into more than enough. Whether you feel full or empty today, God invites you to share His blessings—especially the simple ones. Every act of generosity reflects His heart and brings Him great pleasure. Today's episode of the sunshine would like to remind you to continue to seek and share God's word. Chaos is all around us, but God can give us peace in the midst of a storm. I love you with the love of Christ and want to remind you to share your sunshine?

The spiritual laws of the kingdom are available to all—but are we operating in true relationship with Christ or just working spiritual principles for our own gain? While following God’s ways leads to life and abundance, we see these principles can be operated outside of relationship. We see this with:
 * Unrighteous people who seem to prosper outside of loving God and others
 * New Age seekers who tap into spiritual laws without Christ
 * Believers who mix truth/ministry with manipulation, compromise, and personal agendas Operating out of intimate relationship with Christ causes us to not only experience life and abundance as He defines them, but do the one eternal thing that ultimately matters: love as He loves. The sobering reality? Any of us can fall into the trap of valuing things above relationship with Him That’s why Jesus warns: Matthew 7:21-23 (TPT) “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into heaven’s kingdom... I will say to them, ‘Go away from me, you lawless rebels! I’ve never been joined to you!’” God only relates to who we truly are: not the false deceitful manipulative and fallen ways of beings and false identities - they will not last the fires of His Love. To Become a Follower of Jesus, You Must Have Faith; and Your Faith Comes From YOU Hearing God's Word MESSAGE SUMMARY:  Others to whom you minister, such as your children and friends, can her about the Lord and the Gospel from you – for the first time or in reinforcement; but they must hear for themselves and believe for themselves to be saved. Many of us first believed because of what our parents taught us; but then we heard for ourselves, and we believed. You cannot live on another's faith in Jesus. We must hear the Gospel for ourselves and come to the Lord in our own faith. As Paul tells us in Romans 10:16-17: “But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, ‘Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?'. So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." You will stand before the Lord alone in judgment – you will speak for yourself with only Jesus to speak for you.
