To Become a Follower of Jesus, You Must Have Faith; and Your Faith Comes From YOU Hearing God's Word MESSAGE SUMMARY: Others to whom you minister, such as your children and friends, can her about the Lord and the Gospel from you – for the first time or in reinforcement; but they must hear for themselves and believe for themselves to be saved. Many of us first believed because of what our parents taught us; but then we heard for ourselves, and we believed. You cannot live on another's faith in Jesus. We must hear the Gospel for ourselves and come to the Lord in our own faith. As Paul tells us in Romans 10:16-17: “But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, ‘Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?'. So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." You will stand before the Lord alone in judgment – you will speak for yourself with only Jesus to speak for you. These are ministers of Satan as they seem to be "angels of light," deceiving churches. Paul says: II Corinthians 11:13-15 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. Some years ago, I heard the Catholic pope say on TV news that he didn't see anything wrong with homosexuals. I screamed out: "What about the Bible." Romans 1:26-27 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. The scriptures glorify God, showing God's view of the situations. The Catholic pope glorifies himself giving his views. A divorced woman wanted to remarry. She went to a pastor to see if she, being divorced, could remarry. The pastor said, "My sister divorced and remarried. I don't see anything wrong with this." So this woman remarried after divorce. Later she was born again and began reading the Bible and saw by the various scriptures that the divorced woman who remarries commits adultery. The pope and the pastor lead people into damnation, failing to present the Word of God on the issue. And they glorify their own selves by their own opinions. Ministers of God glorify God by presenting the views spoken by God. Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 10-12 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Damnation to every minister who speaks his own opinions and fails to share the words of God on the matter at hand. The Words of God are salvation to us who believe, and those Words glorify God when we speak them. ***** In today's church, ministers of Jesus are called by Jesus from heaven. The apostle Paul tells king Agrippa about his calling by Jesus from heaven to be a minister of Jesus. Acts 26 Paul says: 12 Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests, 13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me. 14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou ME? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. 15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And HE said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. 16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; 17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, 18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in ME. 19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: Today, each minister of Jesus is called from heaven by Jesus, as was Paul, and put into the ministry offices by Jesus according to the will of God. It is not by his own will that a minister to the New Testament church goes into the ministry. It is by the call of the Spirit of Jesus. Ephesians 4 8 Wherefore HE saith, When HE ascended up on high, HE led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. 11 And HE gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into HIM in all things, which is the head, even Christ: *** But today many ministers are ministers of Satan. They, by their own will, not by the call of Jesus, put themselves into the ministry. II Corinthians 11 13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. *** Jesus says, concerning the last days: Matthew 24:4-5 Take heed that no man deceive you. We glorify God when we share God's Word and those things told us by God's Spirit. I've found the majority of church people do not want to hear that which God has said and that which God has done. They want to praise their pastors and other humans. I Corinthians 2 1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and HIM crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. ***** Concerning homosexuals and lesbians: God's views: Romans 1:26-28 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; *** Concerning divorce and remarriage, God's views: Matthew 5:32 Jesus said: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. - The divorced woman who remarries commits adultery but her husband who divorced a faithful wife is the cause of her adultery. - The man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery. I Corinthians 7:10-11 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. I Corinthians 7:39 The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. Mark 10 2 And the Pharisees came to HIM, and asked HIM, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting HIM. 3 And HE answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you? 4 And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away. 5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. 6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. 7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; 8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. 9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. 10 And in the house HIS disciples asked HIM again of the same matter. 11 And HE saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. 12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery. Romans 7:1-3 1 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? 2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. 3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. *** Concerning fornication, God's views: I Corinthians 6 15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. 16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith HE, shall be one flesh. 17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. *** Sins committed by a "brother": I Corinthians 5 1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. 2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. 3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, 4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. 6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? 13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. *** Concerning those who will not go into heaven, God's views: I Corinthians 6 9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. *** Revelation 3:5 Jesus says: He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before MY Father, and before his angels. Revelation 22 Jesus says: 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and MY reward is with ME, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14 Blessed are they that do HIS commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. *** If you share your own opinions or opinions of other people, you glorify humans. But if you share what God says, you glorify God.

There are seasons in life when we feel full—full of gratitude, strength, purpose, and blessing—and seasons when we feel painfully empty. In our daily prayer and devotional, Keri Eichberger reflects honestly on times when life seemed to drain every ounce of energy, joy, and margin she had. In moments like these, even thinking about blessing others can feel impossible. Yet God’s Word calls us to a beautiful truth: sharing is not about abundance—it’s about obedience.Scripture reminds us that even the smallest act of kindness is precious in God’s sight. Luke 21:1–4 records Jesus watching a poor widow give two tiny coins in the temple treasury. Though her gift was the smallest, Jesus declared it the greatest because she gave out of her need, trusting God with everything she had. This story reminds us that we never give “too little” when we offer what we have to God. Even if all we feel we can give is a gentle smile, a kind word, a short prayer, or a helping hand, God can take small offerings and multiply them into abundance. And as we share—even from places of weakness—we often find unexpected strength returning to our souls. When we bless others, God restores us.When we pour out, He fills us again.When we give a little, He turns it into more than enough. Whether you feel full or empty today, God invites you to share His blessings—especially the simple ones. Every act of generosity reflects His heart and brings Him great pleasure. But just as You delight in blessing me, You also desire that I bless others, even in small ways. Help me to become more aware of Your blessings. Give me courage to share what You’ve given—whether much or little. Thank You for the way You multiply every offering and for the fullness You return to my heart when I obey You. The spiritual laws of the kingdom are available to all—but are we operating in true relationship with Christ or just working spiritual principles for our own gain? Right before Jesus the Passion of Christ, what did he do? He prayed for us. What would you pray for us if you knew you were going to die soon? What did Jesus pray for? No, WHO did Jesus pray for? To Become a Follower of Jesus, You Must Have Faith; and Your Faith Comes From YOU Hearing God's Word MESSAGE SUMMARY: Others to whom you minister, such as your children and friends, can her about the Lord and the Gospel from you – for the first time or in reinforcement; but they must hear for themselves and believe for themselves to be saved. Many of us first believed because of what our parents taught us; but then we heard for ourselves, and we believed. You cannot live on another's faith in Jesus. We must hear the Gospel for ourselves and come to the Lord in our own faith. As Paul tells us in Romans 10:16-17: “But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, ‘Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?'. So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." You will stand before the Lord alone in judgment – you will speak for yourself with only Jesus to speak for you.
