What do you do when it feels like your work, your prayers, your dreams—are going nowhere? In this soul-stirring conversation, Dr. Heather Thompson Day joins Ginny Yurich to talk about what it really means to live a life of passion, faith, and unseen impact. Drawing from her newest book What If I'm Wrong?, Heather shares deeply personal stories about her father's battle with Alzheimer's, parenting through pain, and the quiet generational weaving that connects our ordinary days to something much bigger. This episode is a reminder that success is not always measurable—and that the seeds we plant in love and obedience often bloom in ways we'll never fully see. If you've ever wrestled with doubt, disappointment, or the fear that your life won't amount to much, this episode will breathe fresh hope into your story. The world may measure impact one way, but heaven tells a different story. Even in your failures—especially in your failures—God might be doing His greatest work. **

Are you tired of living life scared or following the status quo? Maybe it’s time we remembered what it felt like to believe in ourselves before the world told us who we should be and what we should do. In today’s conversation, we will explore the chasm between the dreams we once had and the reality in which we are now living. Speaking from personal experience, renowned speaker, best-selling author, and today’s guest, Dr. Heather Thompson Day dives deep into her newest book titled, What If I’m Wrong?, to help us better understand what makes us feel overwhelmed or defeated by the hopes we once had, the disappointments we should have overcome, the goals we expected to accomplish, and the person we wanted to be. Somehow and somewhere along the way, we stopped following our heart and started listening to the lies in our head: It’s time you gave up on that childish dream. What makes you think you could accomplish that? Others see who you really are, so stop trying to be someone else. So we decided to play it safe and just accept our lot in life. And instead of feeling alive every day, we walk through our days numb and uninspired. But today’s conversation will help you understand that pursuing a painless passion means you have an insignificant dream, living a “normal” life is scarier than taking risks and embracing the unknown, being vulnerable and admitting mistakes can lead to success quicker, embracing failure might be the best thing that ever happens to you, staying motivated and confident when things go wrong gets easier with practice, and the person God made you to be is waiting to live life to the fullest! As Dr. Heather says, “Have you ever considered that the hardest things in life might be our greatest areas of passion, through which we find fulfillment in everything we do, from work to play to relationships to our faith? Fears and failures come upon us like relentless waves, pulling us to deeper water. Panicked, we believe we are going to drown. But what if we’re wrong? Maybe God is teaching us how to swim stronger, to pursue greater adventures, and to learn how to really live!” Find Out More About Dr. Heather: https://www.heatherthompsonday.com/ Purchase Your Copy of What If I’m Wrong?: https://www.amazon.com/What-If-Im-Wrong-Navigating/dp/1400341574 Link to Cross Communication: https://www.crosscommunication.com/ Check out Dr. Heather’s ‘What If I’m Wrong Podcast’: https://www.heatherthompsonday.com/podcast Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.

I'm joined by the brilliant and beautifully honest Dr. Heather Thompson Day for a conversation on spiritual wrestling. Heather's latest book, What If I'm Wrong? This conversation is a powerful example of how doubt and faith can co-exist. If you've ever wondered whether you're allowed to question your faith—or felt like you were losing your grip on God—this episode is for you. We explore: What happens when the God you believed in no longer matches your reality How therapy helped Heather not just psychologically but spiritually Why what feels like failure may be something deeper—and more redemptive The unexpected miracle Heather experienced at the end of her long season of doubt This isn't a story of tidy answers. It's a story of holding on, even when you're not sure what you're holding onto.

Welcome back to What If I'm Wrong? A show where we might not give you the answers, but we will ask some really good questions. This month, we're exploring the topic of passion—what are you so passionate about that you are willing to suffer for? And this week we are asking: What if you're wrong about your purpose? What if everything you've believed about your purpose turns out to be a misconception? How do you cope when your sense of purpose shifts or crumbles, and what can it teach you about yourself moving forward? Join host Heather Thompson Day and submission specialist Haley as they dive into a thought-provoking discussion about purpose. In Day in the Bible, Heather explores that Luke, a physician, wrote 27% of the New Testament, focusing on Jesus' healing ministry. She challenges us to reconsider our purpose, noting that God often calls unlikely people to do His work. Whether you're a nurse, teacher, or in another field, Heather asks, "What if you're wrong about your purpose?" urging us to be open to God's call, even if we don't feel equipped. Trust me when I say that I GET IT. I get that when years go by, and waiting gets tiring, giving up on having hope feels like the easiest and most reasonable thing to do. But rather than placing our hope in the result, what if we saw how God could minister to us right here, right now, today? My new friend Heather Thompson Day joins me to discuss this on the pod! Welcome back to What If I'm Wrong? A show where we might not give you the answers, but we will ask some really good questions. This month, we're diving deep into relationships—friendships, romantic connections, and family dynamics—and this week we are asking: What if jealousy isn't as bad as we think? Jealousy often gets a bad reputation, but is it always a toxic emotion, or could it be a natural, even helpful, response in relationships? Join host Heather Thompson Day and submission specialist Haley as they discuss how jealousy shows up in romantic and professional settings, breaking down the psychology behind it. In Day in the Bible, Heather explores the scripture Numbers 12:1, where Miriam and Aaron's jealousy over Moses' marriage to a Cushite woman reveals their underlying insecurity and feelings of betrayal, not racial prejudice. This passage highlights the importance of understanding cultural context Have a story to share? Email us at whatifimwrongpod@gmail.com. Welcome back to What If I'm Wrong? A show where we might not give you the answers, but we will ask some really good questions. On today's episode Scarlett Longstreet joins us again for submission discussions. Her non Christian background and realism makes this a well rounded analysis you won't want to miss. Scarlett Longstreet is a writer and content creator based in Detroit. She shares perspectives on divorce, copareting, relationships, and millennial womanhood. This month, we're diving deep into relationships—friendships, romantic connections, and family dynamics—and this week we are asking: What if ‘The One' Doesn't Exist? In relationships, the concept of soulmates is often seen as undeniable—but what if it's not as simple as we think? Join host Heather Thompson Day and submission specialist Haley as they explore whether ‘the one' truly exists. They question whether God has divinely appointed one perfect partner for each person or if love is shaped by free will, personal growth, and the choices we make along the way. In Day in the Bible, Heather discusses the symbolism of barrenness in the first century and how understanding these implications change how we read God's call to Abraham in Genesis 12. In relationships, compromise is often seen as essential, but what if it's actually a misguided approach? Welcome to the very first episode of What If I'm Wrong? A show where we might not give you the answers, but we will ask some really good questions. This month, we're diving deep into relationships—friendships, romantic connections, and family dynamics—and asking: What if we've been doing relationships wrong all along? Is it reasonable for married couples to live separately? Are long-distance relationships always doomed? What happens when relationships challenge traditional gender roles? We're not here to give answers, but we are here to ask some really good questions. Join host Heather Thompson Day and co-host Haley as they break down what it really means to love someone, react to shocking submission stories—including a dad dating his daughter's best friend—and explore how Jesus' communication style was built on asking great questions. Heather shared her perspective that all relationship is sacred, and that ministering the gospel is often as simple as reflecting people's human dignity back to them. We reflected on living with delight and purpose, inside the mundane limits of our actual lives. Heather unpacked the myth of self-reliance and explained how not all relationships have to be strong, intimate ones to still have profound value and sacred impact. If you're tired and have not much left to give right now, this one is for you.Order I'll See You Tomorrow: Building Relational Resilience When You Want to Quit, by Heather Thompson Day and Seth Day.Learn more about Heather's work at heatherthompsonday.com.Support the show and my other work, at jonathanpuddle.com/supportCheck out my trauma-informed 30-day devotional, You Are Enough: Learning to Love Yourself the Way God Loves You.Grab my latest book, Mornings with God: Daily Bible Devotional for Men (good for women too)Find every book or resource I've talked about recently on my Amazon storefront, in Canada, the United States or the United Kingdom.

About "I'll See You Tomorrow" In a culture where people easily and hastily cancel relationships rather than cultivate them, discover what the Bible has to say about how we need to keep showing up for one another—even when we feel like walking away. We are surrounded by choices. If we want to watch a movie, we have multiple platforms we can choose from. If we grow tired of a friend or conversation, we leave them on read. It's never been easier to tune out and make a switch when something doesn't go perfectly or when we are offended. It's easy to cancel something from our lives when it comes to technology, television shows, or choices of food and drinks. But what about canceling friends or family members when we are disappointed or offended by them? In I'll See You Tomorrow, communication professor Dr. Heather Thompson Day and Seth Day tackle difficulties that people face in relationships and help them navigate through relational disappointment, conflict, and fear. The dangers of a relational cancel culture are a timely one.

Theologian and monk Thomas Merton once wrote, “The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them.” We were designed by God to live life with and surrounded by people. But to successfully do so, we have to learn what makes others tick. We have to know how they move, and how we can speak love and understanding into their lives. Truly loving people comes with knowing that they are flawed, but resisting the desire to “fix them” to some standard of our own. When we choose to let others be perfectly themselves, we begin to understand God's unconditional love toward all of us. Our guests this week are people who've truly come to the realization that in order to make a relationship thrive, acceptance and resiliency are so important. Beatboxer, cellist, and singer/songwriter Kevin Olusola from the acapella musical group Pentatonix talks about what it takes to make space for his bandmates through their differences, and how they move beyond those differences to make beautiful harmonies together. Husband and wife duo Seth and Heather Thompson Day speak about the tensions they've experienced with their individual families and how as a couple, they are committed to the hard work of living relationally with others and with God. This doesn't make any sense, but I can't deny that I feel like you're leading me here. I don't know if it's forever, but I know I at least have to follow this right now.'” - Kevin Olusola “I don't think any of us knew that it was going to lead to all this. We're five such different people in such a beautiful way. That's what makes the sound interesting. We're all bringing our different ideas of musicality to make one joyful noise.” - Kevin Olusola “If God Almighty is the one that has put the plan in place for you to be successful so that His glory is known, you better believe that God will create a way for you to have success not just in your career, but also in your family, also in your health. He's created a way because God wants a holistic, loving, joyous life focused on Him.” - Kevin Olusola “I don't know why we struggle to speak life into ourselves. But when I met Heather, I was able to speak life into her. And she was able to speak life into me.” - Seth Day “I think the beauty of the Christian experience is we actually can allow our spirits and our brains and our bodies and our hearts to be transformed in the hands of God. And I've seen that firsthand in my own family.” - Heather Thompson Day “One of the things that Heather has done by willing the good for me is that she's valued my pain. But she's also definitely valued the promise that God has over my life.” - Seth Day “I think that's what all of us need to do in our lives, is to look to people who have done it when things weren't ideal, to build our confidence, and go, ‘Well they did it. So can I.'” - Seth Day ________________________ Enjoy watching these additional videos from Jesus Calling YouTube channel! Listen in as I chat with Seth and Heather Thompson Day about these issues on the show. Seth and Heather provide a framework of what the Bible says about showing up for one another—even when we feel like giving up. They also share just how important it is to stop waiting for the “perfect” time to move forward in our lives. Heather Thompson Day is an Associate Professor of Communication at Andrews University. She is passionate about supporting women and runs an online community called I'm That Wife, which has over two hundred thousand followers. Heather's writing has been featured on outlets like TODAY and the National Communication Association. She believes her calling is to stand in the gaps of our churches for young people. She is the author of seven books, including It's Not Your Turn and Confessions of a Christian Wife. Seth Day is a graduate student of Educational Psychology. He has been a pastor and campus chaplain. His background in Human Service Counseling and ministry brings an important spiritual component to their most recent book, I'll See You Tomorrow. Listen in to hear all about: How communication drives relationships and what it means to be wired to be in relationships with other people. How messages and experiences we have in childhood affect our relationships into adulthood What weak ties are and how we can value them in our lives. Favorite quotes: ~Our experiences in life, what we go through as children; we are constantly seeking affection. We are going to adapt our coping styles to whatever way helps us get that affection and the unfortunate part is that we carry this to our adult relationships. ~It starts with you! I can only control what I choose to do. The reality is it starts with YOU making the commitment to start living life again ~Narcissists don't want love, they want adoration. ~Weak ties matter. If we spend all our time saying we don't have any best friend relationships we will miss the relationships that we have. ~People who are part of a church community are healthier and happier.
