There are moments in life that break us and moments that remake us. Mo Isom Aiken's story is one of both. From an Elite Division 1, All-American athlete to a woman haunted by trauma, addiction, and suicidal despair, Mo's life took a dramatic turn when a near-fatal car crash became the very altar where heaven met earth. What followed was a supernatural encounter with the Holy Spirit that not only saved her life, but ignited a transformation so complete it would ripple through her marriage, her motherhood, and her mission around the world. This isn't just a story of redemption. It's a call to awaken to the invisible spiritual warfare waging over every soul—and to the freedom that comes with surrendering everything. In this episode of the Revelations Podcast, host Reagan Kramer sits down with Mo Isom Aiken for an unfiltered, deeply moving conversation that spans trauma, healing, and the raw power of a life fully yielded to Jesus. Mo opens up about growing up in the Bible Belt, navigating father wounds and performance-based identity, and the spiritual warfare that nearly claimed her life. Together, they explore Mo's radical encounter with God in the wreckage of her Jeep, the prophetic call that led her family from a fifth-wheel RV across 48 states to the mission fields of Nigeria, and the power of intercession that reshaped her view of prayer entirely. This episode is for the believer who feels stuck in cycles of shame or silence, the seeker longing to hear God's voice again, or the weary warrior who needs to remember what it means to defect from the kingdom of darkness and live fully alive in Christ. Here are three reasons why you should listen to this episode:Gain deeper understanding of how a supernatural encounter with God can occur amidst unimaginable personal tragedy.Learn how radical obedience—like selling everything and living in an RV—can unlock divine provision and spiritual growth.Reflect on the importance of prayer, spiritual warfare, and intimacy with the Holy Spirit in a chaotic world.Become Part of Our Mission! That lie keeps us stuck, powerless, and numb to God's call.Cultural Christianity is an illusion; we should consider what full surrender actually looks like.Mo Isom Aiken, a former All-American athlete turned revivalist and prophetic voice shares her story of defection from darkness—and the fire of obedience that followed.[02:56] Mo Isom Aiken: Childhood and Early LifeMo discovered her identity through competitive sports.Despite being raised in a Christian household, her faith was cultural and lacked deep personal roots. She describes the impact of early exposure to pornography and the pressure of performance-based love from her father. Her struggle with an eating disorder and need for control remained hidden behind a mask of success.[12:22] Transition to College and Personal StrugglesAt LSU, Mo excels as an All-American goalkeeper but continues battling inward brokenness.[13:02] Mo: “How much of my true self and my true life can people handle? Because they have this picture of me, and yet I am destroyed inside.”Her father committed suicide, devastating Mo both emotionally and spiritually. She turns to sexual sin, secrecy, and self-harm, wrestling with suicidal thoughts and tormenting spiritual voices.Though publicly praised, she describes living with private torment and deep spiritual oppression.[20:54] Spiritual Awakening and HealingMo survives a violent car crash and has a supernatural encounter with the Holy Spirit while trapped in the wreckage. She describes the weight and wonder of God's presence as overwhelming yet freeing.[22:58] Mo: “The kingdom of darkness was literally mad because things had been set up in my life that my gifts, my talents, my destiny, my anointing, my very God, given fingerprint of God, purpose was going to be leveraged for evil was going to advance the kingdom of darkness, if not for the mercy of Jesus”In that moment, she chooses full surrender to Jesus and receives a baptism of fire. Her salvation marks a clear defection from darkness into God's Kingdom—spiritually, emotionally, and physically.[28:20] Recognizing God in the Midst of DarknessMo reflects on how God pursued her even during seasons of rebellion and bondage. She shares a deliverance session where a spirit confessed she had “defected” from its kingdom. The conversation highlights how spiritual warfare is strategic and real—but God's grace is more powerful.Mo encourages listeners to stop excusing bondage and fully embrace the invitation to be made whole.[33:22] Impact of Faith on Personal RelationshipsReturning to campus, Mo feels conviction and begins separating from old friends and sinful patterns. She committed herself to purity and obedience, even when it meant facing rejection and isolation.[39:07] Mo: “But if you won't separate yourselves from the ones who are holding you back from your destiny — then you've tightly gripped something God's asking you to open your hands about right? When you open your hands, when you let go of things, He will then, in time, refill what is His good portion.”Through FCA, she found a godly community, received a baptism at LSU, and experienced revival.A two-year intimacy fast sets the stage for meeting her husband, Jeremiah, and building a Christ-centered family.[46:45] Fifth Wheel Missions and Family LifeMo recalls receiving a prophetic word in college about living in a fifth-wheel RV and going on mission.A decade later, she and Jeremiah sell everything and travel the U.S. with their four kids, sharing the gospel. She shares how moments of humor and hardship—like a sewage overflow—shaped their faith and resilience. The RV season prepared them for deeper obedience and future international missions.[56:44] Mission to Nigeria and Angelic VisitMo recounts a dream where an angel tells her she'll go to Nigeria to forge a deeper connection to the divine.Initially resistant due to fear for her children, she surrenders and receives confirmation from her mentors. The family spent eight months in Lagos serving under Nigerian spiritual leaders.Their time becomes a season of discipleship, humility, and spiritual equipping for future ministry.[1:14:19] The Power of Prayer: Greatest Takeaway from NigeriaMo describes prayer as the single greatest lesson from their mission season. In Nigeria, daily prayer was non-negotiable—fostering spiritual strength, wisdom, and breakthrough. She challenges Western believers to move prayer from a fallback to a foundation.Prayer, she emphasizes, is the gateway to discernment, power, and intimacy with God.[1:21:24] Teaching the Next Generation to Prioritize PrayerMo and Reagan discuss the difficulty of maintaining a prayerful life amid Western busyness and distractions.Mo explains how she and Jeremiah are raising their children to see prayer as essential, not optional. They commit to resisting hustle culture and modeling devotion in everyday life.Mo calls for prayer warriors to arise—those who walk in reverence, not performance. [1:32:39] Spiritual Warfare and the Call to Live Fully SurrenderedMo prays a powerful blessing over listeners for renewal, healing, and sanctification.Revival begins in surrendered hearts, not just pulpits; it is in living God's Word to be kind and loving to all those around you.It is our time to live fully awake, defecting from darkness and advancing God's Kingdom with boldness. A former all-American goalkeeper at LSU, Mo encountered the living God in a near-fatal car accident that became a divine turning point. With more than 14 years of experience speaking, teaching, and discipling, Mo now carries a powerful anointing for deliverance, prayer, and spiritual awakening.Alongside her husband Jeremiah and their four children, Mo lives as part of a family on mission—mobilizing across America in a fifth-wheel RV before being prophetically sent to Nigeria through an angelic encounter. In this deeply personal and unscripted episode, Nancy McCready takes us behind the scenes of a season devoted to content creation at NMM—a season marked by creative resistance, spiritual agitation, and the pressing call to stay aligned with the Father. She opens up about the messy tension between productivity and dependency, and how real transition exposes our deep need to stay rooted in Him, not just inspired by Him. Nancy contrasts the flood of content, trends, and distractions vying for attention with the call to be living witnesses—those who don't just admire Jesus but embody Him. Through a powerful reading from her book From Trauma to Trust on Cross Christianity versus Cultural Christianity, and the Message Bible's introduction to Acts, she invites listeners to reject performance and imitation and embrace being made into the message itself. This episode is a sober and stirring reminder that the point of view we carry must be forged in oneness with the Father. Not everything that sparkles is light—and not every message builds the house God desires. In this pivotal time, Nancy asks: will we simply spectate, or will we step fully into our place as living witnesses? Thanks for Listening! You were created on purpose and for a purpose—but the question is: who are you becoming? In this episode, Daron challenges us to rethink what it really means to follow Jesus in a world full of noise, influencers, and distraction. It's not just about believing in Jesus—it's about becoming like Him. Key Takeaways: • You become what you follow—so follow wisely. • Discipleship is about being with Jesus, becoming like Him, and doing what He did. • Belief without transformation misses the point of the Gospel. • Cultural Christianity focuses on performance—Jesus focuses on proximity. • The goal isn't getting into heaven someday, it's bringing heaven to earth today. Quotes: “Jesus didn't come to make Christians—He came to make disciples.” “You're being shaped by your feed more than your faith.” “This is an invitation into imitation that leads to transformation.” “What we follow, we become.” “You only get one life. Don't waste it becoming someone you were never meant to be.”

Cultural Christianity is bad in the Church, but really good in society. If that is true, then we need real christians in church producing culture that impacts society. We can't have fake christians and deists as our only ambassadors to the world. They will fail because they don't know Christ. They don't have the Holy Spirit within them. They don't have the Father's favor.Introduction (00:00:00 - 00:02:09)* Opening Dialogue: The hosts engage in a brief, cryptic exchange about spiritual and metaphysical questions, referencing a psychologist's inability to address good and evil without Jesus as the answer.* Podcast Welcome (00:01:05): Introduction to the Kingsplaining Podcast, self-described as the "I Told You Show," hosted by the two kings of the "Rube Empire."* Hosts introduce themselves as right-wing extremists, supernaturalists, and Christian bigots with a humorous tone.* Philosopher King: Claims 51% of the power, resides in the "Ivory Tower," and shares a satirical rumor about nicotine and caffeine producing protein.* Strong One: The "people's champ," references missing "Dusty" (a recurring figure), and emphasizes his grounded perspective.* Episode Setup: The hosts express readiness to dive into controversial topics with their signature unfiltered style.Segment 1: Marriage and Public Perception (00:02:09 - 00:08:12)* Topic: Marital disputes and public image, with a focus on French President Emmanuel Macron's alleged altercation with his spouse.* Key Points:* The hosts discuss their long marriages (15 and 19 years) and how time flies in a fulfilling relationship.* They pivot to a hypothetical marital dispute scenario, emphasizing the importance of resolving conflicts privately, especially under public scrutiny.* A controversial anecdote about Macron being “manhandled” by his “he-wife” (a derogatory reference to his spouse, Brigitte Macron) before exiting a plane, highlighting the embarrassment of public disputes.* Reference to Candace Owens' podcast, which claims Brigitte Macron is transgender, sparking a discussion about media narratives and public perception.* Comparison to Donald Trump's advice (from an interview with Elon Musk) to resolve disputes before facing the press, contrasting Macron's embarrassment with Trump's media savvy.* Themes:* Public image and political optics.* Gender roles and traditional masculinity.* Criticism of progressive narratives and media manipulation.Segment 2: Atheism and Jordan Peterson's Debate (00:08:12 - 00:29:15)* Topic: Jordan Peterson's debate with 20 atheists and his inability to defend a Christian worldview.* Key Points:* The hosts mock atheists' selective outrage against Christianity (Yahweh) while ignoring other religions like Buddhism or Islam, suggesting atheists target truth (Jesus).* Discussion of Peterson's intellectualism, labeling him a “king of gobbledygook” who relies on psychological archetypes rather than affirming Jesus as the divine truth.* Critique of Peterson's deist stance and failure to embrace Christianity fully, referencing his recent interviews and a podcast with John Rich (of Big & Rich).* The hosts argue that truth and reality are symbiotic, and atheism (like Peterson's intellectualism) abandons both by rejecting God.* Comparison to other intellectuals (e.g., Thomas Sowell, G.K. Chesterton) who critique over-educated “imbecility” and scientism (e.g., Neil deGrasse Tyson, Bill Nye).* Anecdote about Destiny (a streamer) taking his son to Auschwitz to counter Holocaust skepticism, illustrating the futility of arguing without a foundation in truth.* Themes:* Rejection of intellectualism without faith.* Defense of Christian truth as the ultimate reality.* Critique of atheism and scientism as grounded in denial.Segment 3: Cultural Shifts in Music and Media (00:21:30 - 00:24:11)* Topic: The decline of positive music and its psychological impact.* Key Points:* The Strong One shares a study claiming 99% of 1980s and 1990s music had positive lyrics (e.g., Def Leppard, Run DMC), compared to only 12% today.* Discussion of how modern music is formulaic, robotic, and degenerate, contributing to cultural decay.* Brief tangent about the hosts' music preferences (grunge, metal, country) and a humorous debate about rap as a “psyop” funded by undisclosed entities.* Themes:* Cultural degradation through media.* Nostalgia for positive cultural influences.* Suspicion of corporate agendas in entertainment.Segment 4: Toxic Masculinity and Political Alienation (01:28:10 - 01:39:19)* Topic: The Democratic Party's alienation of young men and the concept of toxic masculinity.* Key Points:* The hosts argue that Democrats have demonized masculinity, rewarding “feminine” boys and punishing natural male behavior, leading to resentment.* Critique of media and education (unionized, Democratic teachers) for promoting “toxic masculinity” narratives and undermining traditional gender roles.* Discussion of a failed Democratic campaign ad featuring “burly” men supporting Kamala Harris, mocked as inauthentic and “zesty” (a slang term for effeminate behavior).* Assertion that men have a “gaydar” (instinctual disgust toward homosexuality), backed by a cited study claiming 98% of men react negatively to same-sex displays.* Advice to Democrats: To regain male support, they must embrace America-first policies, traditional families, and stop promoting progressive ideals (e.g., abortion, transgenderism).* Themes:* Defense of traditional masculinity.* Political polarization and male disenfranchisement.* Rejection of progressive social policies.Segment 5: Entertainment as a Cultural Wake-Up Call (01:39:19 - 01:46:57)* Topic: The role of entertainment in awakening men to cultural decline.* Key Points:* The hosts pinpoint the “woke” overhaul of entertainment (e.g., Star Wars, Arnold Schwarzenegger's “Screw Your Freedoms” comment) as a turning point for men rejecting progressive narratives.* Examples include Luke Skywalker's emasculation, Rose Tico's arc in The Last Jedi, and sports controversies (e.g., NFL kneeling, pink shoes for breast cancer awareness).* Argument that men initially tolerated progressive changes to please women but rebelled when their heroes were vilified, stripping them of aspirational myths.* Connection to broader cultural hatred of masculinity and Christianity, driving men toward traditional values and faith.* Themes:* Cultural betrayal through entertainment.* Reclamation of masculine archetypes.* Spiritual awakening through cultural pushback.Segment 6: Embracing Christian Extremism and the Overton Window (01:47:00 - 01:58:08)* Topic: Rejecting compromise and embracing a radical Christian identity.* Key Points:* The Strong One declares himself a “right-wing Christian nationalist extremist,” inspired by Kanye West's song “Hail Hitler,” which he interprets as a defiant response to being labeled evil for wanting to see his children.* Critique of the Overton window as skewed toward Satan, with cultural Christianity unfairly demonized by figures like Tim Keller.* Defense of cultural Christianity outside the church as a net positive, preventing societal ills like transgenderism, abortion, and “sodomy” celebration.* Rejection of seeker-sensitive compromise, advocating for unapologetic Christian truth to shame wickedness and restore societal norms.* Examples of being demonized for rejecting COVID narratives (masks, vaccines) and public schools as “dens of Satan.”* Call to run toward Jesus without meeting the world halfway, citing Psalms 4:7-8 for peace and safety in God alone.* Themes:* Uncompromising Christian faith.* Reclamation of cultural Christianity.* Defiance against secular labels and norms.Closing (01:58:08 - 01:59:58)* Prayer (01:58:13): The Philosopher King prays for empowerment to speak truth, avoid cultural Christianity in the church, and foster a national Christian culture through the Holy Spirit.* Outro (01:59:27):* Reiteration of the podcast as the “I Told You Show” and home of the “Rube Empire,” where taxes are voluntary, and the hosts serve Jesus.* Call to action: Like, share, subscribe, buy merchandise, and support the show at Kingsplaining.com.* Sign-off: “Peace out. God bless.”Notable Quotes* “Truth and reality are symbiotic. They have to be together. You can't have truth without reality.” (00:19:15)* “I'm done trying to fit into the Overton window of right and left... I'm an extremist. Cool beans.” (00:52:17)* “I want liberty because that's what Christ died on the cross for. Freedom from sin.” (00:52:26)* “I want some of that cultural Christianity back because you wouldn't have tranny madness.” (00:54:31)* “I'm not meeting you in the middle anymore. You can look at my rear end the whole time.” (00:57:23)Themes and Tone* Core Themes: Defense of traditional masculinity, unapologetic Christian faith, rejection of progressive ideologies, and critique of cultural compromise.* Tone: Provocative, irreverent, and confrontational, with frequent use of humor, sarcasm, and derogatory language to challenge secular norms and “woke” culture.* Target Audience: Conservative Christians, particularly men, who feel alienated by modern societal shifts.Additional Notes* The podcast frequently references pop culture (e.g., Star Wars, Arnold Schwarzenegger) and political figures (e.g., Trump, Macron, Obama) to ground its arguments.* The hosts' self-described “extremism” is framed as a biblical mandate to reject compromise with a sinful world.* The show's unfiltered style is acknowledged as potentially shocking to “normies” (mainstream listeners), with Dusty (a recurring figure) cited as a moderating influence.Support the Show: Visit Kingsplaining.com to subscribe, share, or purchase merchandise.Next Episode: Tune in next week for more unfiltered commentary from the Rube Empire. In this compelling episode, Pastor Karl dives into Romans 14, exploring what he calls "Applied Christianity." This chapter challenges both seasoned and new believers to navigate the balance between personal freedom in Christ and public restraint for the sake of others. Pastor Karl unpacks the concept of spiritual maturity, emphasizing private liberty and public restriction as biblical principles rooted in love. He addresses the tension between those strong in faith, who live in the freedom of grace, and those weak in faith, who adhere to stricter rules, using the historical context of meat sacrificed to idols to illustrate disputable matters. Through practical examples like alcohol, Halloween, and homeschooling, Pastor Karl highlights how non-essential issues should not divide the church. He introduces the "law of love," urging listeners to prioritize others' faith over personal freedoms, and explains the Bema Seat judgment, where Christians are rewarded for their sacrifices, not judged for salvation. Join Pastor Karl for a thought-provoking discussion on living out faith with grace, love, and unity.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm
Discipleship can be both rewarding and challenging, especially in today's ever-changing church landscape. As leaders, we often find ourselves navigating cultural shifts, combating spiritual apathy, and seeking new ways to foster genuine community. In multi-site churches, these challenges can be even more pronounced, requiring intentional strategies and innovative approaches to ministry. In this episode of Group Answers, we invite you to explore how one church is addressing these very issues. Host Brian Daniel sits down with Matt Vairetta, Executive Pastor of Ministries at Church of the City in Franklin, Tennessee, to discuss how they are combating cultural Christianity, building strong community groups, and equipping leaders in a multi-campus environment. As he unpacks these priorities, he wrestles with what to keep, what to challenge, and what bones to "spit out” along the way.

The guys gather to debate a hot button issue in this edition of "Pick A Side" focused on cultural Christianity. The proposition on the table is, "The death of cultural Christianity would be a net positive for everyone." Everyone picks a side and then defends their position. It forces us to ask tough questions: What impact has Christianity had on our culture? What does it mean to be a "cultural Christian" and what are the downsides? What might a culture without Christianity truly look like? How can we foster real belief and obedience amidst the cultural noise?Pick a Side and join the conversation!
Jeff Tharp was raised in a Christian home, but at seven years old, his parents divorced which brought instability to his life for some time until he encountered Jesus at the age of eighteen. A year later, Jeff found himself in a situation where he was groomed by a closeted homosexual man, which the Lord delivered him from. Since then, Jeff has married his beautiful wife, Lauren, served on missions with YWAM, become the host of ElijahFire, and walked with the Lord faithfully for over twenty years. Send us a textCultural Christianity is a very dangerous place. It mixes a lot (or a little) of the truth with just a tiny twist of the spirit of the age. I made a list of six red flags to look for when trying to find a church to call home or even when you meet someone that talks about Jesus. Because it may not be the right one. Denies the diety of Christ Mixes creationism with evolution Doesn't use all scripture for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction Promotes New Ageism Promotes feelings over factsDoesn't teach repentance, but that you can come to Jesus as you are and stay that wayI used a lot of references today and I have a lot more I could've thrown in there. If you want my list, especially about who the Bible says Jesus is, just message me! Thanks for listening today! Feedback is always appreciated. The "cultural Christianity" argument says that atheists might not like Christianity, but they like a culture which depends on Christianity. They like open, free, thoughtful, liberal, beautiful, virtuous societies. Unmoored from a connection to Christanity, a society will gradually have less of those goods, until even atheists are unhappy. Therefore (continues the argument), atheists should be cultural Christians. While they can continue to privately disbelieve, they should support an overall Christian society, which they can dwell contentedly on the fringes of. I think this is sort of where Ayaan Hirsi Ali is coming from. https://readscottalexander.com/posts/acx-against-the-cultural-christianity
Did you know 1/3 of all adults who grew up in church but have since left said pastoral sex scandals played a significant role in their decision to leave?Over the past 15 years, we've seen cover up after cover up within the American church. And it's all for the same reason: churches were scared of losing their cultural influence if they fired the pastor who abused his position. This week we talk about how this has impacted evangelical culture, what a healthier approach would be, and what actual restoration looks like.Content warning: we do go into some details on a few of the scandals. Being a cultural Christian used to be an insult, but more people are embracing the label with pride. The Holy Post crew unpacks what's behind the growing affection for cultural Christianity, and they explain why it's more important than ever to embrace the weird, supernatural beliefs of the faith. Historian Kristen Kobes Du Mez is back to discuss her new documentary, “For Our Daughters,” about the sexual abuse scandals that have shaken the faith of many in the church. She sees a link between the theology and culture that created and covered-up sexual abuse in the church, and the rise of political idolatry within evangelicalism. Also this week—hurricanes are now political, and a Haitian pastor in New Hampshire with a sense of humor invites pets to his church. “If today's church were more like the early church, we wouldn't have all of these problems.” Ever heard people talk like this? Many Christians today assume that the earliest Christ followers were zealous converts who were much more devoted to their faith than typical, modern-day church-goers. But today's guest, Nadya Williams, is here to explain how cultural sins have always been a part of the church's story. Nadya is a historian and the author of “Cultural Christians in the Early Church.” She first explains what it means to be a cultural Christian. She then details how Roman culture was different from 21st-century American culture and provides examples of early cultural Christianity. Plus, why should we care about this today? And can politics bring about the kingdom of God? Listen now! Have you benefitted personally from Truth Over Tribe or seen it have a positive effect on someone you know? have you used the podcast, book, or blog as a catalyst for conversation on polarizing topics?
