Our show opens with a quick visit from Wing King Drew Cerza, Founder and Promoter of The National Buffalo Wing Festival, the world's largest chicken wing festival,talking about this year's Festival and my induction into the NAtional Buffalo Wing Hall of Flame.  Then, my guest is Stacy Peterson, Chief Technology Officer for WingStop, the world's largest chicken wing restaurant chain. Hiram plans to go see some horse racing and dress to the nines.  We continue with our headlines starting with my review of Wingstop's Thighstop menu.  It all sounded good until we opened the packaging and found some tiny thighs.  It might be pigeon meat.  We also talk about Sir Richard Branson and his plans to go to "Space".  We compare his planned fight to the upcoming flight from Jeff Bezos and what will Elon Musk do to top them.  We discuss the Texas Cook'em High Steaks in Edinburg and thank Ronnie for the sweet spot we got under some trees behind the 9th Green.  Really helped out in the 100+ degree weather.  We talk about the whole set up for the day and some onsite interviews we did with some of the cooking teams and Brett Gallaway from Steak Cookoff Association.  Also my brother Eric joins the podcast for the first time.  Jaime and I showed up for the night Easton Corbin concert at night.  We talk about the Snake River Farms brisket that Alma (Queen of BBQ) cooked and how great it was.  Johnny reveals all of the secrets behind the 4th place steak and 2nd place chicken out of 90 teams.  He gives you the bbq pit, charcoal, seasonings, cooking temp.  It's like you are cooking side by side with him.  Aaron Lesley gets another mention in the podcast. ***Check out part two to hear the rest of the episode. To combat the shortage and increasing chicken wing prices, Wingstop has looked at the rest of the chicken. Wingstop partnered with delivery app Doordash to create the virtual brand Thighstop as a ghost kitchen -- serving thigh versions of their famous chicken wings. Wingstop is evolving given the recent chicken wing supply shortage with a new venture, Thighstop, a virtual kitchen that delivers chicken thighs via DoorDash. Alexandria has renamed 2 of its schools effective July 1. TC Williams will become Alexandria High School and Matthew Maury Elementary will be renamed to Naomi L. Brooks Elementary School after an Alexandrian educator, leader, citizen, wife and mother who died last year. Montgomery County Park announced that they have placed 13 selfie stands in different parks around the county. The locations were selected based on scenic views and the diversity of landscapes around the park system. Cat Cafe opens in Georgetown. Crumbs & Whiskers is DC's first kitten & cat cafe, which partners with local rescues to save homeless cats from euthanasia and to provide them with a comfortable, clean, free-range environment. Human visitors enjoy guilt-free, fun, educational and personal experiences with adoptable cats. The DC area has another Olympian! 31 year old Christina Clemons from Wheaton, MD. She placed in third-place in the 100-meter hurdles and became viral because she was wearing Doritos earrings during the race.
