Wednesday 31st August, 2016 will go down the first day that the roof was employed inside the Arthur Ashe Stadium at the US Open, as The Tennis Podcast acknowledges in another of our daily shows. Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent, and Princess Beatrice of York came to watch with golf’s US Open winner Rory McIlroy. Spain’s and the USA’s Davis Cup teams for the quarterfinals were announced but included Wimbledon quarterfinalists Feliciano Lopez and Mardy Fish, and Novak Djokovic for Spain but Rafael Nadal declined.
