As Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's legal troubles deepen, attention has shifted to his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who are said to be “in a state” following their father's arrest. Sources close to the family describe the situation as “catastrophic,” with renewed scrutiny falling on the Yorks' past lifestyle, finances and proximity to the Epstein scandal. Reports have revisited Princess Beatrice's jet-setting twenties — including a year in which she reportedly took 17 holidays while earning approximately $26,000 — raising fresh questions about who funded the lifestyle and whether her father's dealings as trade envoy played a role. Recently released documents referencing Beatrice have only intensified the spotlight.Princess Eugenie, meanwhile, was reportedly skiing in Switzerland with her family hours before the arrest and is understood not to have known what was about to unfold. The images of a relaxed Alpine lunch now sit in sharp contrast to the crisis erupting at home.Commentators are also debating what this means for the sisters' future within the monarchy. Royal analyst Richard Fitzwilliams suggests the long-term decision may ultimately fall to Prince William, who is said not to be particularly close to his York cousins and could take a harder line when he becomes king. Royal Insider Deep Crown warns that while a slimmed-down monarchy may aim for efficiency, it still requires “reliable, unimpeachable bodies” — and with each new revelation, that pool appears to shrink.A new biography by Russell Myers claims William pushed for decisive action against his uncle following the BBC Newsnight interview, describing Andrew's presence as “a stain on all the family” and warning the crisis would never fade. The book suggests tensions flared behind palace doors as William argued that protecting Andrew posed a threat to the institution's survival.Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, Prince Harry launched the 2026 WellChild Awards, praising children with complex medical needs as “extraordinary,” while Meghan promoted her lifestyle brand — moves that have prompted fresh debate about timing. Sources close to Harry told People magazine he was frustrated by comparisons between himself and Andrew, insisting they were “never fair.” .Get episodes of Palace Intrigue by becommming a paid subscriber on Apple Podcasts. Prince Andrew was widely regarded as one of Jeffrey Epstein's most prized connections—a walking symbol of power, prestige, and access to the British monarchy. Epstein's entire operation revolved around influence, and having a member of the royal family in his inner circle lent him instant credibility in elite circles. Andrew's presence at Epstein's residences in New York, Palm Beach, and the Caribbean, along with their public stroll in Central Park, sent a message to the world: if Epstein could keep a prince close, he couldn't possibly be dangerous—or so many wanted to believe. That royal association helped Epstein further integrate into high society, recruit new victims under the guise of legitimacy, and deflect scrutiny from authorities and journalists alike. For Epstein, Prince Andrew was more than a social trophy—he was living, breathing protection. That relationship served as both a status symbol and a buffer, shielding Epstein from the kind of isolation that might have followed his 2008 conviction. Andrew, in return, enjoyed the benefits of Epstein's lavish lifestyle and the company of Ghislaine Maxwell, with whom he shared a long, murky friendship. Their ties were so close that Maxwell was even a guest at royal events, including Princess Beatrice's birthday party. Duncan Larcombe says Meghan will be wary of “guilt by association” and likely telling Harry, “keep your head down, don't get involved.”Harry is said to be especially distressed for Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, two of the few royals who maintained ties with him. Meanwhile, Meghan is preparing a carefully curated Valentine's Day publicity blitz for her As Ever brand, built around romance and nostalgia — even as speculation swirls about the couple leading increasingly separate professional lives.Reports claim the Sussexes are on “different paths,” with Meghan focused on Hollywood and Harry on Invictus and UK commitments. There are even whispers of contingency plans should things unravel. Add in Kim Kardashian drama, an EastEnders jam joke, and accusations Meghan is in “meltdown mode,” and it's another week of relentless Sussex headlines.Meanwhile, Prince William attempts to refocus attention on conservation efforts in Saudi Arabia — planting trees, praising ecological restoration projects and talking Arabian leopards — as the wider royal storm shows no sign of easing.Palace Intrigue is your daily royal family podcast, diving deep into the modern-day drama, power struggles, and scandals shaping the future of the monarchy."Crown and Controversy: Norway" is covering the trial of Marius Borg Høiby as the Norwegian Royal Family is faced with multiple scandals of their own.Check out "Palace Intrigue Presents: King WIlliam" here.

Prince Andrew's latest attempt at image rehabilitation was widely seen as one of his most brazen moves yet: quietly positioning his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, as emotional intermediaries to plead his case to King Charles III. Rather than confront the consequences of his own conduct directly, Andrew reportedly leaned on familial sympathy, allowing his daughters to emphasize his supposed remorse, isolation, and mistreatment behind palace doors. The maneuver was viewed by many as a calculated effort to soften the King's resolve by reframing Andrew not as a disgraced royal linked to Jeffrey Epstein, but as a wounded father figure deserving of compassion. Critics argue this was not an act of humility, but a tactical deflection that shifted the emotional burden onto two women who had no role in their father's scandals. The move was especially galling because it placed Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie in the uncomfortable position of advocating for a man whose reputation has severely damaged the monarchy itself. Observers saw it as another example of Andrew's refusal to accept accountability, choosing instead to hide behind his children while attempting to claw back relevance, security, and royal privilege. To critics, it underscored a pattern that has followed Andrew for years: when faced with consequences, he seeks protection through proximity to power and emotional leverage rather than genuine responsibility. The episode only reinforced the perception that Andrew remains more concerned with salvaging his status than acknowledging the harm his actions and associations have caused.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

New claims from a source cited by Andrew Lownie allege that Jeffrey Epstein discussed a plan to “take out” Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, as fresh emails released by a United States congressional committee show Epstein calling the former duke “great fun” and referring to him by the codename “The Duke.” Andrew is seen in public for the first time since losing his titles, riding on the Windsor estate while negotiations over his move continue, and reports suggest King Charles has struck a private deal to protect Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie's future roles. Andrew was born second in the line of succession to the British throne and is currently eighth.Andrew served in the Royal Navy between 1979 and 2001 as a helicopter pilot and instructor and as the captain of a warship. During the Falklands War he flew on multiple missions including anti-surface warfare, casualty evacuation and Exocet missile decoy. Andrew married Sarah Ferguson in 1986, and was created Duke of York on his wedding day. They have two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Their marriage, separation in 1992 and divorce in 1996 attracted extensive media coverage. Andrew served as the UK's Special Representative for International Trade and Investment from 2001 to 2011, resigning amid scrutiny over his expenses and associations with figures including Saif al-Islam Gaddafi and the convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He continued to undertake official duties on behalf of Elizabeth II until 2019.In 2014, Virginia Giuffre alleged that, as a 17-year-old, she had been sex trafficked to Andrew by Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, the latter of whom was convicted of child sex trafficking in 2021. Andrew denied any wrongdoing. Amid growing criticism of his associations with Epstein and Maxwell, he permanently stepped back from public roles in May 2020. Between August 2021 and February 2022, he was the defendant in a civil lawsuit over sexual assault filed by Giuffre in the United States. The lawsuit was settled out of court, and Andrew paid an undisclosed sum to Giuffre without admission of liability. In 2022, Elizabeth II removed his honorary military affiliations and royal charitable patronages, and he stopped using the style "His Royal Highness". In October 2025, amid ongoing controversy surrounding Andrew's association with Epstein, Buckingham Palace announced that "a formal process" to remove his style, titles, and honours had been begun by Charles III. He was also served with a formal notice to leave his home, Royal Lodge. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 02:50 UTC on Saturday, 1 November 2025.For the full current version of the article, see Prince Andrew on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm generative Danielle.

Andrew's presence at Epstein's residences in New York, Palm Beach, and the Caribbean, along with their public stroll in Central Park, sent a message to the world: if Epstein could keep a prince close, he couldn't possibly be dangerous—or so many wanted to believe. Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell's presence at major royal events hosted by Prince Andrew exposed just how deeply enmeshed they were in elite British society—long after Epstein's reputation was already clouded by disturbing rumors. One of the most glaring examples was their attendance at Princess Beatrice's 18th birthday party in 2006, a lavish affair held at Windsor Castle known as the "Dance of the Decades." Despite Epstein being under active investigation by U.S. authorities for sex crimes involving minors at the time, he and Maxwell were welcomed as guests of honor. Their inclusion at such a high-profile royal gathering wasn't a fluke—it was a reflection of their deep personal connection to Prince Andrew, and a shocking disregard for the allegations that were already swirling around Epstein. This wasn't an isolated incident. Even as late as 2011—three years after Epstein had been convicted of soliciting sex from a minor—Maxwell continued to receive royal invitations, and Epstein was still being entertained by the Duke of York in private settings. These appearances make it difficult to believe Prince Andrew and those around him were unaware of Epstein's reputation; instead, it suggests a willful blindness, or worse, a casual indifference to the crimes Epstein had already been linked to. The royal family's ongoing association with both Epstein and Maxwell, even after credible accusations and legal action had begun to surface, wasn't just a lapse in judgment—it was complicity through normalization, helping launder their reputations in the most exclusive circles on Earth. To contact me:Bobbycapucci@protonmail.comSource:https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9082827/Official-royal-program-reveals-Jeffrey-Epstein-Ghislaine-Maxwell-Prince-Andrews-guests.htmlBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

Dara is one of those people who lights up the room she walks into.  As a Taiwanese-American architect and designer, renowned for her innovative contributions to contemporary architecture, Dara was born in Florida to Taiwanese immigrants, where she pursued a master's degree in architecture from Harvard University.   In 2013, Dara founded Design Haus Liberty, an international architecture and design practice based in London, with additional offices in Hong Kong. The firm offers a wide range of design services across residential, commercial, hospitality, and retail sectors, establishing itself as a tastemaker and game-changer in the industry. On a personal note, Dara was previously engaged to British property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, with whom she shares a son, Christopher Woolf Mapelli Mozzi, affectionately known as "Wolfie." Despite their separation, they continue to co-parent amicably, with Wolfie also being the stepson of Princess Beatrice.  Follow Dara on social media here. Follow Alexa Curtis here.
