Podcast that discusses Ohio State Buckeyes Athletics
We've got fewer than 100 days until brand new Buckeye football becomes available, but there's plenty to talk about as the offseason drags on. For starters, we open this episode with discussion of Ohio State trying to move the opener against Texas to prime time on Sunday, Aug. 31. The Longhorns said no, and we support that decision, as we are college football purists (and old guys who are set in our ways) who think college football should be played on Saturdays — except for MACtion.Aside from the date of the Texas game, we address the subject of noon kickoffs, which are OK, but admittedly there must be a lot more variety to keep the playing field level from a recruting standpoint. Ohio State prospects in Texas, California, Georgia, Florida, or elsewhere have to be able to play their games on Friday nights and have time to physically fly to Columbus for their visits on game days. The one thing nobody needs is a grandstanding population wasting everyone's time by trying to legislate away a television contract the universities signed up for in exchange for a lot of money. The Buckeyes have a new quarterback with an excellent name in transfer Eli Brickhandler. We don't expect him to play a lot, if at all, but we're here for the name and we hope he can at least get some snaps late in blowout games. Speaking of quarterbacks, Ryan Day says the competition is close, and we have no reason to doubt him, but we saw what we saw, and we still think Julian Sayin has the advantage entering preseason camp.Changes are coming to the seeding in the College Football Playoff. It may be a bit premature after one iteration of the 12-team playoff to start making changes, but it is what it is.Finally, we wish a speedy and complete recovery to Julian Fleming, who sustained severe injuries in an ATV crash and offer our deepest condolences to Julian for the loss of his girlfriend in the accident. We are in our monthly offseason schedule, but we could have more than one show a month depending on how much news there is. We will return to our weekly schedule in August, as camp opens and we get you ready for the 2025 Ohio State football season. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions via email at SilverBulletsPod@gmail.com. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:20 — Texas denies Ohio State's bid to move the game to Sunday, Aug. 31; noon kickoffs; and stupid legislation to stop noon kickoffs.15:25 — Eli Brickhandler brings his excellent name to the OSU quarterbacks room and the quarterback battle isn't over according to Ryan Day.31:50 — There's a change coming to the seeding formula in the College Football Playoff and we extend our deepest sympathies and well wishes to former OSU receiver Julian Fleming.
Spring ball is in the books and now we're in that long, dark teatime of the offseason when news is something you'd rather just not hear. For this episode, we looked at Ohio State dominating the 2025 NFL Draft. We looked at where the 14 selected former Buckeyes were picked (tying a school record) and wonder why there wasn't a 15th player — a consensus All-American and winner of a major individual award, no less — taken to give the school a share of the all-time draft record. We also walked through the draft spots of a couple of ex-Buckeyes who transferred to other schools and discussed the landing spots for some OSU undrafted free agents. With the spring practices coming to an end, we've probably seen our final black helmet stripe removal until preseason camp starts. We look back at the most recent players to lose their helmet stripes. We also touch on a couple of important transfer portal arrivals, as well as Ohio State's trip to the White House, where the vice president tried to mangle the national championship trophy and the foot of TreVeyon Henderson. Finally, we looked back at the 2025 Ohio State Spring Game. Lots of players stood out during this year's event, especially the running backs. Bo Jackson and C.J. McDonald looked especially good, and the quarterbacks performed well as a group. It may not have seemed like it, but there were some defensive standouts as well. We walk through where everyone was selected or signed as an undrafted free agent.34:18 — Ohio State news doesn't stop in the off-season. We touch on the final black stripes that were removed during spring camp and the Buckeyes' visit to the White House.44:42 — Finally, we look back at the Ohio State Spring Game and shine a spotlight on those players who stood out.
The offseason has been fairly quiet for the Ohio State Buckeyes over the last month, but the team has started spring practice, and storylines are sure to surface over the coming weeks. In the meantime, we reconvened to discuss important topics, such as Ohio State players switching jersey numbers. Several Buckeyes will be sporting new numbers on their shirts this fall, and we now know which number some of the incoming freshman and transfer portal players will wear. We looked at the Sunday league as well, to find out which former Buckeyes might (or might not) change jersey numbers, but have changed entire jerseys. Several Ohio State products have switched teams and some are still in the process of finding the next stop on their career path.Ohio State legend Eddie George is returning to the Buckeye State to coach Bowling Green. The 1995 Heisman Trophy winner is a solid candidate and could be on a bright career path trajectory, as some of the Falcons' coaches of the past have gone on to bigger and better things. This may be an Ohio State football podcast, but it's one that doesn't miss the opportunity to point out when things go wrong for Michigan. As such, we touch on former Michigan assistant coach Matt Weiss' 24-count indictment and what it could mean for the Wolverines, especially if any of it ends up tying into the ongoing sign stealing investigation. Finally, we discuss some big dates on the OSU calendar, including Ohio State's Pro Day and the Buckeyes' trip to the White House. We are in our monthly offseason schedule, but we could have more than one show a month depending on how much news there is. We're back for our February check-in after a few weeks to bask in the glow of Ohio State's national championship season. But the news rarely sleeps when it comes to Buckeye football, so we're back to get caught up on what's going on.We start with our discussion of a new position in the government for former OSU coach Jim Tressel. “The Senator” is just a Lt. Governor (for now, at least), and it's good to see the old ball coach finding productive things to do with his time. After Tressel talk, we dive into the changes on Ryan Day's coaching staff since our last show. Did the Buckeyes make the best hires they could? We won't know until we see how things shake out, but they were interesting additions. Some of the additions were merely promotions, and we're interested to see how comfortable Day really is when it comes to Brian Hartline calling plays.Next up, we chatted about spring football starting up and the fact that changes are coming to the spring game...sorry, Spring Showcase. There's a change right there! We follow that up sith some discussion about a potential expansion of automatic bids for the Big Ten and SEC. That right there is a slippery slope. Finally, we look at the former Buckeyes headed to the NFL Combine and which ones might miss particular drills or opt to showcase their talents at Ohio State's Pro Day. There sure are a lot of Buckeyes heading to the Combine, so it's a great year to watch it. We also touched on some former OSU assistant coaches and where their new jobs are, as well as a new number for a returning defensive back.We are in our monthly offseason schedule, but we could have more than one show a month depending on how much news there is. The college football season is over and the Buckeyes are the reigning champions after a thrilling 34-23 win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. It started and ended as a close battle, with a lot of OSU dominance in the middle. We look back at all the critical talking points, key plays, and notable statistics from the ninth championship in Ohio State history. We looked back at the players we picked to click and checked in on our score predictions, as we put a bow on a season that Buckeye fans will remember for a long time. After our game rewind, we hit the transfer portal news hard, with landing spots for Calvin Simpson-Hunt, Devin Brown, and George Fitzpatrick and another defensive lineman is headed out of town. We discussed Carnell Tate and Jeremiah Smith taking to social media to shoot down transfer rumors while Quinshon Judkins declared for the NFL Draft. We're also going to see big returns on the defensive side of the ball with Sonny Styles and Davison Igbinosun not yet ready to leave Columbus. We also had some thoughts on former OSU quarterback J.T. Barrett being named the quarterbacks coach for the Chicago Bears. One thing we didn't cover is the departure of Jim Knowles, as we recorded this episode at the same time the Buckeyes were celebrating their championship at Ohio Stadium on Sunday. So, if we reference Knowles during the show, we were operating under the assumption that no sane person would take a lateral move from Ohio State within the conference. We finished with a discussion of what 2025 might hold in store for the Buckeyes, with a lot of new faces in the starting lineup. We will return to our weekly schedule in August, as camp opens and we get you ready for the 2025 Ohio State football season. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions via email at silverbulletspod@gmail.com. The Buckeyes have advanced to the ultimate game — the College Football Playoff championship game — after battling to a 28-14 win over a game Texas Longhorns squad that pushed them to the closing moments of the game. While Ohio State made things a lote more difficult than they needed to be through a parade of penalties and an early third-quarter turnover, Texas deserves a lot of credit for making it a four-quarter struggle. Ultimately, Jack Sawyer ascended to the pantheon of all-time Buckeye legends with a play for the ages to seal the win.We look back at the Cotton Bowl's key plays and statistics, check in on our picks to click, and review our score preview from one of the best games of this year's College Football Playoff.Following our game recap, we looked at Ohio State transfer portal news with two more current Buckeyes headed into the portal at season's end. We also discussed Buckeye great Mike Vrabel's new coaching gig and congratulate a pair of former Ohio State players for earning All-Pro honors in the NFL.Finally, we look ahead to Notre Dame. Ohio State will face a familiar face in former OSU linebacker Marcus Freeman, who coaches a Fighting Irish team that looks a lot like the 2002 national champion Buckeyes. They've got a strong defense, better-than-they-seem skill players, a quarterback who isn't flashy but finds ways to get things done, and a team that won't ever quit. Ryan Day will have to beat Tresselball to win a national championship on Jan. 20. We preview the matchup, select the players we think will perform well for Ohio State, and give our score predictions. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions below in the comments section or send us an email. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:22 - We look back at a hard-fought Ohio State win over the Texas Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl.46:10 - Ohio State transfer portal news and big happenings for some Buckeyes in the NFL.56:05 - The Buckeyes move into the national championship game against a Notre Dame team that looks suspiciously similar to Jim Tressel's national championship Buckeyes.
Ohio State was able to ring in the new year the right way, obliterating the Oregon Ducks in the Rose Bowl to earn a place in the College Football Playoff semifinals. The Buckeyes opened the game white hot on both sides of the ball, carving up the Duck defense in just a few plays and harassing Dillon Gabriel when Oregon's offense tried to get things going. It was a few plays from being a perfect game from Will Howard, Jeremiah Smith, TreVeyon Henderson, Jack Sawyer, Caleb Downs, Cody Simon, and company. We looked back at the quarterfinal matchup, gladly ate some necessary crow over our score predictions from last week, checked to see how our picks to click performed (spoiler: one of us picked both the offensive and defensive MVPs of the game), and broke down the game's key plays. After our Oregon rewind, we discussed the other College Football Playoff games and bowl games involving Big Ten teams. The conference continues to show well against everyone else. SEC fans are quick to point out that it's for no reason other than the games being meaningless, though. The B1G couldn't possibly be having a good year, and there's no way the SEC took a half step down in 2024, so just get that thought out of your head right now. After checking the scoreboard, we discussed some transfer portal news. It was completely up to date at the time we recorded, but since then the Buckeyes have added a linebacker and lost a running back. Life, especially in the portal era, comes at you fast. Finally, we looked ahead to Friday's titanic tilt against Texas in...Texas. Yes, the road before Ohio State was stacked as much as it could be against the Buckeyes when this journey began, but that's what you get for losing to Michigan. We checked out the Longhorns' rankings and discussed Ohio State's challenges before selecting our offensive and defensive picks to click and making our score predictions. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions below in the comments section or via email at silverbulletspod@gmail.com. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:20 - A look back at a thoroughly satisfying revenge win over the Oregon Ducks in the Grandaddy of them All.35:21 - A walk through the other College Football Playoff games and B1G-centric bowl games with a side order of transfer portal news.1:04:31 - The College Football Playoff continues for Ohio State with a semifinal matchup against former Buckeye Quinn Ewers and his Texas teammates. We preview and predict it.
It's our final show of the 2024 calendar year, and it's a doozy. We started it off by discussing the latest Ohio State transfer portal news, with the most recent incoming and outgoing names and what those transfers mean for the Buckeyes. After the portal talk, it's time to walk through the other Big Ten results from the bowl games that have taken place since our episode last week.Rutgers kind of blew it, but Nebraska and USC took care of business in the lead-up to the College Football Playoff quarterfinal games in the middle of this week (which start tonight with Penn State facing Boise State). Oh, and we also talked a little about the Pop-Tarts Bowl because it was a lot of fun, lack of defense notwithstanding.Speaking of the Nittany Lions and the Broncos, we gave our thoughts on what we think will happen as the three “other” big games this week pare the CFP pool down to just four semifinalists. Finally, it was time to weigh in on Ohio State against Oregon on New Year's Day. The Buckeyes will be out for revenge, but which OSU team will we see in the Rose Bowl? We talk about the offensive and defensive rankings in what looks to be a game that mixes physicality with skill on both sides, make our choices for our offensive and defensive picks to click for the Buckeyes, and give our final score predictions. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions via email at SilverBulletsPod@gmail.com. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:20 - Ohio State transfer portal arrivals and a quarterback departure (and where he's headed). Also, the Big Ten's bowl season so far.29:55 - The College Football Playoff schedule and matchups, as well as our picks to click and score predictions for Ohio State vs. Oregon.
Ohio State more than took care of business against the Tennessee Volunteers Saturday night in the first round of the College Football Playoff. Despite reports that the stadium was going to be half-filled with Tennessee fans, Buckeye fans showed out and were loud, spurring on an offense and a defense that clicked almost the entire 60 minutes. We opened this week's show with a letter from a listener, and then discussed the Ohio State transfer portal news from the previous week. Had we recorded Monday night instead of Sunday afternoon, there would have been a lot more arrivals to discuss. As it is, we talked about two more departures and the landing spots of two previous Buckeye defectors. Following the Ohio State news, we talked about the other College Football Playoff matchups, what home field advantage meant in the first playoff games on campuses, and the lazy narrative of which teams do or do not “belong.” If wins and losses don't matter because of schedules being weaker or stronger, we're not sure how to address that, because teams must play their schedules. The solution to being left out, as always, is win your games. Finally, we broke down the 42-17 Ohio State win that could have been more lopsided against the Vols. The offensive line held up much better than expected, the play-calling was aggressive and inventive, and...well, where was this a couple of weeks ago? We checked in on our picks to click and our score predictions to see how well we anticipated things. We also touched on the broadcast, which at times seemed to be gaslighting us about how many Tennessee fans were among the 105,000 people in Ohio Stadium, and at times seemed to be painting many Ohio State fans as insane for suggesting the team's head football coach should occasionally beat its greatest rival, especially when the Buckeyes have the much better roster. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions via email at silverbulletspod@gmail.com. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:20 - Ohio State news, including new portal additions and landing spots for guys who were already in the transfer portal a week ago.19:29 - Other College Football Playoff results and the tiresome “doesn't belong” narrative.30:12 - Our Tennessee game rewind and thoughts on enduring one of the most aggravating broadcasts.
It's College Football Playoff game week, everyone, and we've got plenty to talk about. That includes some of the angst over the thought of Tennessee fans buying up some of Ohio State's student ticket allotment. Is this a big deal? How many could it possibly be? I guess we'll find out on Saturday, but we're not worried. We touched on a stupid bill that would make planting an opposing team's flag in Ohio Stadium's turf a felony. Why is this necessary? Who is asking for this (aside from a legislator trying to score points with OSU fans)? We didn't spend much time on the topic, but it was still more than it was worth.Devin Brown is in the transfer portal...sort of. Brown declared he will enter the portal after Ohio State's postseason run is over, so that time could come this weekend or stretch into mid-January (or somewhere in between). There are a lot of Big Ten teams in bowl games this year, and we went down the full schedule of those matchups, throwing in a few other games of interest along the way. We think the B1G will show well in the postseason, but in the era of opt-outs and transfer portal happenings, it's never easy to predict. Finally, we turned our attention toward the Tennessee Volunteers. Our preview includes what we think Ohio State will have to do to get a win, which mostly consists of not letting preventable history from repeating itself. We also selected our offensive and defensive picks to click and made our final score predictions. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions via email at silverbulletspod@gmail.com. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:21 - Ohio State news, including Devin Brown entering the transfer portal, and a complete rundown of all the Big Ten's bowl matchups.47:32 - Our preview and predictions for Ohio State vs. Tennesee in the Shoe on Saturday.
We start this week's show with news and notes from Ohio State, including a brief look at the Buckeyes' 2025 recruiting class. Although we don't fancy ourselves as “recruiting guys,” there are still some conclusions we can draw from looking at Ryan Day's latest class. We also touched on a few Ohio State players who chose to enter the transfer portal and some guys who were honored for having standout seasons in the Big Ten in 2024. The transfer portal decisions weren't terribly surprising, and we didn't even get to touch on Devin Brown, who made his announcement while we were wrapping up our recording. After the news segment, we discussed the Big Ten title game that pitted Oregon against Penn State. The Nittany Lions acquitted themselves well, but still didn't play the Ducks as closely in Indianapolis as the Buckeyes did in Eugene. That didn't matter much to the College Football Playoff Selection Committee. The final poll came out and the Buckeyes found themselves at No. 8. We talked about what we didn't like about that decision, what we liked about other decisions, and then we broke down the bracket. Ohio State has a difficult road to the semifinals, and the committee did No. 1 Oregon no favors either with the way the bracket is set up. Let us know what you thought of our analysis of the CFP bracket as we look forward to seeing 12 teams in the postseason for the first time.We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions via email at silverbulletspod@gmail.com. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:21 - Digesting Ohio State's class after National Signing Day, Buckeyes in the portal, other Buckeyes who won awards, and more.22:27 - The B1G championship, Ohio State's difficult draw, and the College Football Playoff bracket overall.
This is not the podcast we wanted to have, but it's the podcast we've got. We look back at a calamitous day filled with bewildering coaching decisions in Ohio State's latest loss to That Team Up North, look back at our score predictions and our picks to click, and try to make sense of such senselessness. After our Michigan rewind, we look back at the other scores around the Big Ten to see how everyone else made out. It turns out Purdue did poorly again and now Ryan Walters is out as head coach. That's hardly surprising after such a brutal season. Wisconsin failed to achieve bowl eligibility under Luke Fickell. Penn State took care of business against a bad Maryland squad. Rutgers rolled. The end of the season is always a time to look back on preseason predictions, and we took a look at how the Big Ten shook out compared to how we predicted it would. We were close on a lot of the final standings but also way off on a few. Finally, we discuss Ryan Day's prospects for coaching at Ohio State beyond this season. Does it depend on a postseason run? Does it depend on a deep postseason run? Does his future depend on a natty? We discuss where Ohio State could even go from here if the Buckeyes move on from Day. We throw a few names around. Let us know what you think. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions via email at silverbulletspod@gmail.com Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:20 - The Buckeyes almost couldn't lose The Game and did it anyway. Our list of things that went poorly is long.30:46 - Our look around the rest of the Big Ten scores is interrupted briefly by the news that Ryan Walters is out at Purdue.53:55 - We compare our preseason predictions for the final B1G standings to what actually took place. We won some, we lost some.1:12:00 - Where does Ohio State go from here? Not in terms of when and where are the next game, but if/should Ryan Day be let go, who are the people who should be in the discussion as a replacement?
Ohio State started slowly again, but the Buckeyes took care of the previously undefeated Indiana Hoosiers in a game we thought would be closer but could have been even more lopsided than the 38-15 score indicates. We broke down the game's key moments, looked at the statistical data, checked in on our score predictions, and learned that all of our picks to click actually clicked. It was a comprehensive victory by the Buckeyes and it's entirely possible that despite its accomplishments this year, Indiana might not be for real.Following our game recap, we looked around the rest of the Big Ten to check in on all the other scores, including a rivalry battle out in the City of Angels and Nebraska finally becoming bowl eligible. Wisconsin is left needing a win in a rivalry game of its own this weekend or the Badgers won't be going bowling. Rutgers was a minute from victory and ended up losing. Minnesota threw a big scare into Penn State. Poor seasons for Purdue, Maryland, and Northwestern didn't get any better over the weekend. Finally, we turned our attention to Hate Week. That Team Up North has played solid defense all season but the offense is a one-trick pony. We talked about TTUN's statistical numbers on the offensive side of the ball, made our picks to click for The Game, and tried our best to predict the final score. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions via email at silverbulletspod@gmail.com. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:20 - The Buckeyes needed some time to get going, but then had little trouble with the Hoosiers.50:00 - The other schools in the Big Ten offered up few surprises this week and even fewer games that were fun to watch.1:05:08 - The Buckeyes who returned for another season to take care of “unfinished business” have a shot at doing that starting Saturday at noon when TTUN comes to Columbus.
[Note: My apologies for the audio, as Chip sounded great and I did not. Unbeknownst to me, everything was running through my external laptop microphone, so I come off a bit echoey.]Ohio State didn't come out of the gates convincing against the Northwestern Wildcats at Wrigley Field, but the Buckeyes eventually settled in and took care of business in the final road game of the regular season. The Buckeyes ultimately won comfortably but it took a couple of quarters and a huge Northwestern mistake to get things moving in the right direction. We break down the key plays and moments in the game, check our picks to click, and look back at our score predictions to see how we well we foretold the matchup in the Windy City. After our Northwestern rewind, we looked at the other matchups around the Big Ten this weekend, including a close one at Camp Randall that had the Oregon Ducks on upset alert for much of the afternoon. We also tell you which teams have arrived at bowl eligibility and discuss what USC needs to do to be more competitive in the conference. Finally, we looked ahead to a huge game against Indiana, which is not something we expected when the season started. The Hoosiers have been impressive, regardless of which teams were on their schedule. The Buckeyes are sure to have their hands full on Saturday in the Shoe. We preview the game, select the players we think will click for Ohio State, and make our score predictions. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions via email at silverbulletspod@gmail.com. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:52 - The Buckeyes struggled at times in the early going but took care of business against the Wildcats. Our recap and analysis.18:05 - A look around the Big Ten, to see how everyone else made out.42:25 - The Buckeyes host the Indiana Hoosiers in a game much bigger than we would have predicted at the start of the season. We preview it.
Ohio State took care of business Saturday as the Buckeyes returned home and beat the Purdue Boilermakers 45-0 in the Horseshoe. Some old heroes (TreVeyon Henderson) and new heroes (Eddrick Houston) shone brightly, lots of backups played, some experimentation took place on the defensive side of the ball, and Carnell Tate continued his meteoric development in a decisive home victory. We checked to see how our picks to click fared, looked at our score predictions, and discussed all of the game's key plays, talking points, and players. It was good to see an Ohio State team not struggle in the follow-up to a win over Penn State. After our game rewind, we went through the other scores from the weekend in Big Ten action. Rutgers stopped the bleeding at the expense of Minnesota, Michigan lost yet again, Indiana improved to 10-0, Penn State bounced back, Maryland gave Oregon more of a fight than expected, and who knows what to make of Iowa? Finally, we looked ahead to Ohio State's trip to Chicago to face Northwestern in a baseball stadium. The Wrigley Field game still doesn't tickle our fancy, but we are a couple of old men yelling at clouds. Money grab aside, the Buckeyes have one more week to handle their business before things get more difficult against Indiana and Michigan to close the regular season. We discuss the state of the Wildcats' offense and conclude that the OSU defense should have another good day. Plus, our picks to click and score predictions. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions via email at silverbulletspod@gmail.com. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:21 - The Buckeyes avoided a letdown game after the Penn State win with a comprehensive beatdown of Purdue.46:02 - A look around all the other Big Ten games from the weekend and several ranked teams around the the country caught an L.54:44 - The Buckeyes visit the Northwestern Wildcats (sort of) at Wrigley Field in Chicago. Our preview and predictions.
A big game deserves a big podcast, so this week's show is a little more supersized than usual. We apologize for nothing, because hey, no extra charge for you. (Not that we charge.)Ohio State went on the road for its second Top 5 matchup away from home this season and this one went better than the last one. The Buckeyes made nearly the same amount of mistakes at Penn State as they did at Oregon, but this time they came away with a win by a touchdown instead of a one-point loss. Many (including us) thought this might be Penn State's year to get a win in the series, but the Buckeyes got some key stops from the defense and a massive game-ending drive to grind out the final five minutes of the clock. We break down all of the key moments of the game, check back on our picks to click, and see how our score predictions turned out (spoiler alert: we're happy to say, the latter went poorly). After we wrap up our Penn State game discussion, we turn our attention to the other scores from around the Big Ten. Michigan lost again and remain short of bowl eligibility. Indiana finally trailed but ultimately destroyed the Spartans. Nebraska lost at home to UCLA to remain bowl ineligible. Purdue took Northwestern to overtime but then didn't do anything else after that. Oh, and Wisconsin is bad again. Finally, we looked ahead to Purdue's visit to the Horseshoe on Saturday. We look at which Boilermakers the Buckeyes will need to watch for, make our “picks to click” selections, and try again to predict the final score of the game.We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions via email at silverbulletspod@gmail.com. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:21 - The Buckeyes started poorly but finished well in a 20-13 road victory over Penn State in Happy Valley.46:02 - A look around all the other Big Ten games from the weekend that was.54:44 - The Buckeyes host a struggling Purdue Boilermakers squad. Will they sleepwalk through another noon game or take care of business?
We got the Ohio State offensive line answers we were looking for, but that doesn't mean they are the ones we wanted. The Buckeyes looked terrible up front without Josh Simmons and struggled offensively in a 21-17 home win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers. A few big plays wallpapered over a poor day running the football and Chip Kelly's worst playcalling of the season. The Huskers played hard and it was almost enough, as the Buckeyes did not play like the angry team Ryan Day promised would take the field on Saturday. We break down the game, discuss all the key talking points, check our score predictions, and see if the Buckeyes we picked to click did just that. After our Nebraska rewind, we looked at the other games around the Big Ten. Oregon continues to roll, and the Wolverines and Spartans continue to save their worst moments for when they're off the field. Oh, and Indiana won again. Finally, we looked ahead to Ohio State's trip to face the Penn State Nittany Lions in Happy Valley. After what we saw on Saturday, we're not feeling great about the Buckeyes, but perhaps they were just exhibiting their usual sleepy post-bye-week play or nearly fell victim to a trap game. Or maybe they're just not good. One thing is certain: Penn State's defense is less forgiving than Nebraska's, so the offensive line must find some answers. We provide our score predictions and choose the Buckeyes we think could have big games on Saturday. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions via email at silverbulletspod@gmail.com. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:21 - The Buckeyes did not look great in Saturday's win over Nebraska, nor did they respond like the angry team Ryan Day promised. We discuss.38:22 - A walk through the weekend's other scores from around the Big Ten.51:56 - The Buckeyes travel to Happy Valley to take on Penn State's formidable defense. But who will be under center for the Nittany Lions?
With the Ohio State Buckeyes on their second bye week of the 2024 season, it provided a great opportunity for us to focus on some of the other teams around the Big Ten. With that in mind, we opened this week's show with a trip around the other B1G results to see how everyone was doing. It was a bad weekend to be an Iowa Hawkeyes or a Michigan Wolverine — is there ever a good week to be a Michigan Wolverine though? — and the wheels seem to have come off for Rutgers. On the flip side, Michigan State notched an important win and Indiana looks as formidable as it has been in my lifetime. We discuss some of the key talking points. After looking around the conference and the country, we turned our attention toward the Buckeyes' upcoming game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The Huskers were humbled on Saturday and will be looking to bounce back with a much stronger defensive performance than they had against Indiana. Dylan Raiola, a former OSU quarterback commit, will no doubt feel like he has something to prove to Ohio State fans, even though it wasn't the Buckeyes' fault he decided to flip — not once, but twice. Raiola started the year strong but has not looked great the last two games. We made our score predictions and selected the players we thought might have good games on Saturday against Nebraska. We also looked at the Ohio State players who were named “Midseason All-Americans,” although we don't agree that that's actually a thing, and we had another black stripe removal to discuss. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions via email at silverbulletspod@gmail.com. Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:21 - The Buckeyes were off over the weekend, but there was plenty of drama around the rest of the Big Ten.33:01 - The Buckeyes get set to take on a Nebraska Cornhuskers team that just got humbled by Indiana — and a former OSU quarterback commit.
Ohio State went toe to toe with a good football team in Eugene, Oregon on Saturday night, but that team made a lot fewer mistakes than the Buckeyes and that culminated in a 32-31 win for the Ducks over the Buckeyes. While the loss doesn't prevent Ohio State from still being able to achieve its goals for the season, it was a disappointment seeing the Buckeyes become their own worst enemies. The loss in Oregon could serve as an important opportunity to learn and grow for the team if the Buckeyes can handle their business in the right way.We analyze the things that went right and wrong for Ohio State and look back at our predictions and picks to click from last week's show to see how we did.Following our breakdown of the Oregon-Ohio State matchup, we turn our attention around the rest of the Big Ten conference to see how the rest of the league was doing. It was another good week for Luke Fickell's Badgers, whose slow start seems to be a thing of the past. It was, however, not good for Rutgers. Purdue did some good things on offense but still didn't get a result because of its porous defense. Lincoln Riley continues to make curious decisions and non-decisions out in Los Angeles. UCLA threw away a lead, meaning the Bruins are still looking for a B1G win, while Iowa bounced back from its loss to the Buckeyes. We've got all of that and more.We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions via email at silverbulletspod@gmail.com. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:21 - The Buckeyes were fine once the offense stopped hurting itself against Iowa.35:20 - The other Big Ten results from the weekend, including a couple of overtime thrillers. Plus, what is up with spitting on an opposing player?
Ohio State remained undefeated by passing its biggest test of the season (so far) on Saturday, beating Iowa 35-7. The Buckeyes showed they could run and throw against a competent defense designed to limit big plays and force teams to be patient, slow, methodical, and mistake-free. The OSU offense was every bit of that on the first drive and not so much of it the rest of the first half. However, once the team regrouped at halftime, the Buckeyes did well to mix the run and the pass, weaponizing Jeremiah Smith and Emeka Egbuka once Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson showed the Hawkeyes they could pick up first downs. We looked back at our picks to click and score predictions from last week and discussed all the key moments of Ohio State's win. After our Iowa rewind, we looked around the league to see how the other Big Ten teams did over the weekend. Michigan lost at Washington despite turning to new quarterback savior, Jack Tuttle. Wisconsin got well against Purdue, while Minnesota pulled off a surprise upset. Plus...Rutgers played Nebraska. I guess. Finally, we looked ahead to the game many have been looking forward to since the schedule dropped, as Ohio State goes on the road to play a formidable Oregon Ducks team. Both of these teams could make the College Football Playoff, so it'll be a good measuring stick. We select the players we think will have big games for Ohio State and try our hand at predicting the final score. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions via email at silverbulletspod@gmail.com. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:21 - The Buckeyes were fine once the offense stopped hurting itself against Iowa.35:45 - The other B1G results, including a barn burner in Lincoln, and by that I mean a game that literally makes you want to go outside and set fire to something when you watch it.51:55 - Our preview and predictions for a trip to Oregon to play the Ducks.
A win on the road in the Big Ten is rarely easy and Ohio State's trip to East Lansing was not without its struggles, but the defense stiffened, the offense kept scoring, and Jeremiah Smith kept doing Jeremiah Smith things in the Buckeyes 38-7 victory over the Spartans of Michigan State. We break down the good, the bad, and the ugly from the road win, digest the Buckeyes' statistics, check in to see if our Buckeye picks to click did just that, and looked back to see who came closest to predicting the final score. After our Sparty rewind, we took a look at the other games around the Big Ten over the weekend, including a tale of two halves at USC, a defensive struggle in Happy Valley, odd officiating that will make no Gophers happy, and the Bizarro World of a 5-0 Indiana team. Finally, we look ahead to what is easily Ohio State's most difficult opponent so far this season. The Iowa Hawkeyes will visit Ohio Stadium on Saturday, bringing an army of tight ends to run free through the Buckeye secondary and a defense that will make Michigan State's look like Western Michigan's. We expect Iowa to be a pain in the neck on Saturday. Another blowout win for Ohio State would not be unwelcome, just unexpected. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions by email at silverbulletspod@gmail.com. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:21 - A big road win over Sparty in the Buckeyes' conference opener.32:31 - Other results around the B1G, including some officiating shennanigans in Ann Arbor.53:40 - Our look ahead to the Iowa Hawkeyes with predictions.
Ohio State improved to 3-0 on the season but it wasn't the most crisp performance. It seemed as if the Buckeyes went ultra-vanilla on defense against Marshall and simply relied on the offense to make plays. It worked, because the Buckeyes won by five touchdowns. Despite the offense looking like improved, the concerns have moved to the defensive side of the ball, although whether it's a case of not showing all Ohio State's cards yet or an actual weakness of the team remains to be seen.We break down the victory over the Thundering Herd, look back at our score predictions and check to see if our OSU picks to click impressed on Saturday. We might have gushed a little about the running game, too. After our Marshall recap, we looked around the league to see what everyone else was doing. There were more conference games this week pitting B1G vs. B1G, including one of the most entertaining games of the season so far in Illinois-Nebraska. We were not impressed with USC's first road game to the midwest, but the Trojans still would have won had Lincoln Riley perhaps paid any attention whatsoever to clock management or the trends in the game. Finally, we looked ahead to Ohio State's 2024 Big Ten opener on the road this weekend against the Michigan State Spartans under the lights. The Spartans have a new head coach, a new quarterback, and lots of talented guys. Will it be enough? Will Ohio State's defense come to play with some different looks? Will Tyleik Williams play? We will find out Saturday night. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions below in the comments section or send us an email at SilverBulletsPod@gmail.com. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:20 - A 49-14 win over Marshall that was not without its struggles at times.28:20 - Other results around the B1G, including an entertaining affair between Illinois and Nebraska.47:00 - Our look ahead to the Michigan State Spartans.
With Ohio State having a week off, there was no game for us to recap. So, we dove straight into the rest of the results around the Big Ten. It was a pretty good week for the conference unless you're a Bruin or a Husky, and let's face it, those guys are barely B1G. In fact, if UCLA is going to play like it did Saturday against Indiana, Bruins fans may end up wishing they'd stayed in the Pac-10. Oregon finally looked like Oregon, Michigan bounced back in less-than-impressive fashion, and Maryland got a key road win out of conference. Outside the conference, LSU at South Carolina was an entertaining matchup, although the Gamecocks ran into some bad luck with a quarterback injury and didn't help themselves with play calling late in both halves. After we checked in on other scores, we turned our attention to Marvin Harrison Jr. and his breakout game Sunday. The former Buckeye and current NFL rookie with the Arizona Cardinals went off for 130 yards and his first two touchdowns as a professional, helping his team win big over the Rams. Finally, we turned our attention to Ohio State's opponent on noon Saturday, the Marshall Thundering Herd. Our preview includes which players to watch for, a brief overview of Marshall's season to date, and our predictions for the final score. We also selected offensive and defensive Buckeyes that we think will have big games in our “picks to click” segment. We'll be back next week to break down the game and get ready for Big Ten play against Michigan State. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions below in the comments section or send us an email at silverbulletspod@gmail.com. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:21 - Without a Buckeye game to recap, we discuss other scores from the Big Ten and around the nation.25:00 - Marvin Harrison Jr.'s big game and our preview of the Marshall Thundering Herd.
Sure, we're a little late in dropping this week's episode due to some vacation travel, but we haven't forgotten to give you a brand new episode of the Silver Bullets Podcast. Ohio State improved to 2-0 on the young 2024 season by virtue of a 56-0 smackdown of the Western Michigan Broncos. Against Western Michigan, the Buckeyes looked like the team we expected to see in the opener against Akron, but they say the biggest improvement during the college football season comes between Games 1 and 2. The Buckeyes played with energy from the jump and were relentless throughout the game in putting pressure on the Broncos on both sides of the ball. We broke down the game, discussed what we liked and what we would have liked to have seen more of, checked on the performances of the players we picked to click, and compared our score predictions to see who got closer to calling the final score correctly. After our Ohio State-Western Michigan rewind, we ran back the scores from all the other games involving Big Ten teams, as well as some surprises around the upper echelons of college football. Illinois picked up a big win, Penn State and Oregon were less than impressive in narrow home victories, and Michigan was humiliated at home. Notre Dame's playoff chances took a big blow on Saturday as well. It was a crazy weekend. The Buckeyes have the weekend off, so there's no preview this week, but we'll be back in our usual time slot early next week to discuss the happenings around the program, how the rest of the league made out during Ohio State's bye week, and the upcoming matchup with Marshall. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions below in the comments section or send us an email. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:21 - We break down the Buckeyes' 56-0 win over the Broncos in Week 2.28:39 - A walk through the other Week 2 scores from around the B1G.
Week 1 is in the books and Ohio State eventually posted the blowout win over the Akron Zips that most people predicted. It just took a while to get there. The offensive line, in particular, struggled at times, especially in the first quarter. We do our best not to overreact to Saturday's occasionally problematic dispatching of the Zips and break down Ohio State's victory. There were success stories (kick and punt returns, Jeremiah Smith, Will Howard, the defense not only getting takeaways but also turning them into points, etc.), and plenty of issues that the coaching staff can work on to improve the team as the season progresses. We also looked back at our picks to click and score predictions to see how well (or unwell) we envisioned the game. After our game recap segment, we took a trip throughout the Big Ten to see how the rest of the conference fared on opening weekend. The only exception was the USC game, which we could not discuss because we recorded Sunday afternoon. We did not see the Trojans pulling off the upset against LSU, but we're not mad about it.Finally, we looked ahead to Saturday's meeting with Western Michigan. The Broncos were sitting in a good position in the fourth quarter at Wisconsin when an unlucky bounce on a Badger punt turned things around in Madison. Ohio State will need to be better against Western Michigan to avoid the Broncos hanging around like they did in Madison. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions at SilverBulletsPod@gmail.com. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:30 - We break down the Buckeyes' win over the Zips.40:39 - A walk through the other Week 1 scores from around the B1G.58:50 - The Broncos gave the Badgers a scare. Can the Buckeyes avoid the same?
It's finally game week and we couldn't be more excited. Before we get you ready for Ohio State vs. Akron, we start this week's show with the latest news out of camp, including the latest Buckeyes to get the black stripes removed from their helmets. We also discussed Nick McLarty winning the starting punting job in preseason camp. The NCAA has delivered its official notice of allegations to Michigan and we discuss the slowness of that process, why we shouldn't expect any punishment to happen this season, and the potential for the Wolverines to qualify for repeat offender status.College football started over the weekend with Week 0, and we quickly touched on Georgia Tech's upset of Florida State in Ireland and an entertaining game between Montana State and New Mexico. We conclude our predictions for the 2024 Big Ten final standings with a look at which teams we think will finish in the conference's top half. Our lists were similar, but we did have a few slight disagreements. We agreed on the top two finishers, however, and you can let us know if you think we got it right or wrong. Finally, we looked toward Saturday's matchup between the Buckeyes and the Akron Zips. We provide our picks for the players we think will have standout games (our “picks to click”), and do our best to predict the final score. We don't expect a close game. We'd love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions below in the comments section or send us an email.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:20 - A look at the latest Buckeyes to have their black stripes removed, the new OSU starting punter, and the NCAA's notice of allegations is delivered to Michigan.16:19 - A little Week 0 discussion, our predictions for finishing positions one through nine in the 2024 Big Ten, and our Akron preview.
We're finally back to our weekly football season schedule here at the Silver Bullets Podcast. It's been a long offseason, but there's plenty to talk about. We start with Ohio State's starter at quarterback. Ryan Day is not going to let the quarterback battle spill into the regular season in 2024, as he has named Will Howard his guy to lead the offense. We discuss the ramifications of that decision and how we expect that to inform the OSU attack for the upcoming year.Howard wasn't the only player making news since our last show. The Buckeyes have named four captains for the 2024 campaign as well. We talk about whether the right or wrong choices were made both in the personnel involved and the number. We also have a new recipient of the Block O jersey and we feel like it's a good choice.Several more Buckeyes shed their black stripes and are now “official.” Kourt Williams was forced to take a medical retirement from the game, which is the unfortunate news in this episode. We wish Williams the best of luck in the next step of his journey. Finally, we take a look at the bottom of the Big Ten. We can't do our usual divisional ranking predictions this season, as there are divisions in the conference no longer. With 18 teams to rank, it would make for quite a long episode to go from bottom to top, so we're starting at the bottom and rating the teams that we think will finish in positions 10 through 18 in the Big Ten. Next week, we'll finish things up by making our bold picks for the teams that will finish in the conference's top nine positions. As always, feel free to tell us what you think we got right or wrong. We'll know for sure at the end of the 2024 season. We'd love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions below in the comments section or send us an email.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!0:20 - We catch up on all the big news since our last show, including Will Howard being named starting quarterback.22:23 - Our predictions for the bottom nine spots in the 2024 Big Ten standings.

We will return to our weekly schedule in August, as camp opens and we get you ready for the 2024 Ohio State football season. We'd love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions below in the comments section or send us an email.Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod.As always, thanks for listening!

They also discussed the topic of possibly expanding the College Football Playoff to 14 or 16 teams even though there hasn't even been a single season yet with a 12-team playoff. Finally, they weigh in on the likely matchup with Northwestern at Wrigley Field.
We've got a lot to discuss on this episode of the Silver Bullets Podcast at the end of an eventful January. We start with a discussion of the biggest Big Ten news of the month, as Jim Harbaugh has departed Ann Arbor and will no longer have to face the consequences of his actions. He's even taking the assistant most likely to share in the penalties. We break down the possible ramifications awaiting Michigan when the NCAA investigation is complete and discuss the possibility that Sherrone Moore could also face sanctions and may not be being set up for success. Who is to say which base he was actually born on and how he thought he got there? We are to say, and we do.Ohio State has made some coaching staff changes since the season ended and we run through those and discuss some the changes that may still come. After talking about the coaches, we turn our attention to the players. Ohio State got tons of good news this month from players deciding to return for the 2024 season. Aside from a few guys, almost everyone who could come back is going to do so. Plus, there are some big-time transfers coming to Columbus is well.In addition, Ohio State has a new athletic director, and we touch on some of the pros and cons of Ross Bjork's appointment to the position. Sure, he's the guy who gave Jimbo Fisher a ridiculous extension, but he's also a guy who can help Ohio State get to the next level with fundraising for NIL issues. Finally, there are a lot of incoming freshmen enrolling early this year, which is exciting because it's an excellent recruiting class.
Michael Citro and Chip Minnich unpack Ohio State's dismal performance against the Missouri Tigers in the Cotton Bowl, check their score and player predictions, discuss the portal and NFL decisions through the New Year's weekend, and go through the OSU coaching staff to determine which staffers are doing a good job and where Ohio State can make improvements. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/2626049/advertisement

Ohio State survived a difficult road test in a tough environment with Saturday's 17-14 win at Notre Dame at literally the last second. The Buckeyes may have taken six years off our lives in that nailbiter that didn't seem to need to be one for much of the game, but at least the team emerged with its undefeated record intact. It was a fantastic growing experience for quarterback Kyle McCord, who put on his big boy pants and led the team down the field for a clutch winning touchdown on the road, converting multiple gotta-have-it plays on the final drive. We break down a win to remember with all of the key plays, big performances, and curious coaching decisions (from both sides) that contributed to the outcome of this game. We also look back to see how our predictions and picks to click made out.Following our lengthy discussion of an absurdly entertaining Top 10 matchup, we discuss how the rest of the Big Ten teams made out over the weekend. There were some surprising scores around the league, but perhaps none bigger than Minnesota blowing a three-touchdown lead against Northwestern. Indiana got a scare but prevailed, and Iowa didn't show up in Happy Valley against what had previously been a vulnerable-looking Penn State squad. And Maryland is off to a great start, while Michigan State is in free fall. We'll be here with you every week from now until the end of the 2023 Ohio State football season. The Buckeyes' 2023 season is underway. Although it began in underwhelming fashion, it's the first outing, on the road, with a new quarterback and a mostly new offensive line. It was never going to look crisp right out of the box. Far be it from us to tell you not to panic — you may do so if you wish; that's your prerogative — but we simply have more things we'll be keeping an eye on as the season moves forward. We broke down Ohio State's 20-point win at Bloomington, including the key plays, players, and mistakes, and checked back on our score predictions and picks to click to see how we did. It was the first game for everyone, so we haven't quite zeroed in on this team yet.Joel Whetzel from The Vindicator and Tribune Chronicle was our guest this week. He popped on with us to give us the scoop on Ohio State's opponent this Saturday, the Penguins of Youngstown State University. What are the Penguins good and bad at? Who are the players to watch? What style can we expect? These questions get answered expertly by Joel and we appreciate his time. Finally, we looked ahead to Saturday and came up with our score predictions and our picks to click for this Saturday's matchup. Will the Penguins get as many stops on defense as the Hoosiers did? That's not what we're expecting. We have similar ideas to how this game will unfold to what our guest described. We'll be back next week to dissect Ohio State's home opener against Youngstown State and look ahead to a matchup with Western Kentucky. In fact, we'll be here with you every week from now until the end of the 2023 Ohio State football season. It's game week at last and we're ready to go after seeing some Week 0 games this past Saturday. The Buckeyes are going through their final preparations for the upcoming season and it starts with a Big Ten East showdown in Bloomington this Saturday. We begin the show with some news, including the naming of Ted Carter as the next president of The Ohio State University. That was the first domino that needed to fall in order to get a new athletic director hired to replace Gene Smith in the position next year.Ohio State also has a new stadium voice. We touched on that briefly before getting into the latest group of official Buckeyes who saw their black stripes removed from their helmets within the last week. These are guys who are showing that they came to Columbus to put in the work and we love to see it.Colin Lavery from Crimson Quarry then jumps on with us to tell us about the 2023 Indiana Hoosiers, and to say that he's not feeling optimistic about his team's upcoming season might be an understatement. Tom Allen refuses to name his starting quarterback and there are 40 new faces on the Indiana roster, which could make for a bumpy 2023 season for fans of the Hoosiers. Finally, we dive into our picks to click for Saturday and make our first score predictions of the new college football season. Both of us feel we're erring on the conservative side as the Buckeyes go on the road with a new signal caller. The game might start a little sluggishly for Ohio State, but we expect the Bucks to get stronger as the game goes on.We'll be here with you every week from now until the end of the 2023 Ohio State football season.
