About Mark London and Mad Cave Studios: I grew up addicted to movies and comic books. If you want to talk about, fantasy, storytelling, Conan, Transformers, GI Joe, or Japanese Animation, I'm your man. Perhaps it's the filmography of Jean Claude Van Damme, Arnold Schwarzenegger, or Sylvester Stallone. As a kid, I loved it. As an adult, I still love it. I've channeled that passion into my independent comic book publishing company, Mad Cave Studios, which I established in 2014. From the beginning of our studio's inception, I've reached for nothing short of the best in terms of artwork, storylines, and team members. That level of quality has shown in what we've produced and in the things we've achieved the last three years. We've exhibited at Wizard World's Chicago Convention (2016), New York Comic Con (2016, 2017), WonderCon Anaheim (2017), and Megacon Orlando (2017). Our medieval fantasy comic, Battlecats, will be distributed by Diamond Comic Distributors and was featured in their December 2017 edition of Previews World. Now we are working simultaneously on six comic book series as we release Battlecats, Midnight, and Knights of the Golden Sun throughout 2018. We have big plans for Mad Cave Studios in 2018 and beyond. Learn more about what we're doing by visiting madcavestudios.com or clicking on the links below. Established in 2014, Mad Cave Studios is an independent comic book publisher from Miami, Florida driven by madness and committed to creating the most fun and diverse comics on the market. With our roots founded in a medieval fantasy world, every Mad Cave series is incepted by us before it is filtered through the feedback of our readers. We attend multiple conventions each year to talk with our fans and learn what they are excited about. The result is a comic book experience that is second to none, transporting our readers to a world that comes to life with beautiful artwork and a story that carries a hidden, purposeful meaning. Every single person hired by Mad Cave Studios carries a passion for the industry. Our writers, editors, artists, graphic designers, marketers, and PR/Communications professionals are all dedicated to this work.

After attending all 3 days of WonderCon 2022 we sit down with a couple of beers and chat about all things WonderCon 2022 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Comic-Con took over the show in 2002 and moved it from Oakland to downtown San Francisco in 2003. After 15 years as a Bay Area event, WonderCon was forced to move to Anaheim in 2012, due to construction at its San Francisco home, the Moscone Center. Since 2012, the event—now called Comic-Con International Presents WonderCon Anaheim—has been held in southern California, at the Anaheim Convention Center. While it is still the hope to one day return the show to its San Francisco and Bay Area roots, WonderCon Anaheim has continued to grow in its southern California home. This year we were invited as "PRESS" and we had such an amazing time!

WonderCon has developed and evolved from what was primarily a passive ‘experience’ delivering show into one which companies and creators can now bring new projects and share updates on brand new content – we have been lucky to have a couple of correspondents visiting the show as Press, catching up with a number of these fresh stories. As Sam discovers, an editor's role on a book like this is complex, collaborative and incredibly rewarding. One such correspondent is our resident comics guru Samantha Maybe (@SamanthaMaybe) who met up this weekend with comics legend Rob Liefeld who returns to the X-MEN fold with a new book and a new character: Major X, an antagonist that promises to life particularly hard for our heroes. “Major X introduces a new character who is certain to mix up everything in the X-world. He hails from another existence, which is called the ‘X-istence’ — a mutant Shangri-La, a safe haven that has been a realm where mutantkind has lived in peace and harmony. They escaped there following a tragedy that befell mutantkind, and built this community. There are some familiar faces that he has forged this other society with. But then a terrible event happens within the X-istence that causes Major X to cross over and land in the Marvel Universe that we know. But he doesn’t land in the spot he was hoping, so in the first issue he is in 1991. We progressively get him where he needs to go. By the conclusion of the story, we catch up to modern-day Marvel.” Here, in this brief chat with Sam, Rob talks about his approach to writing this new chapter in X-MEN lore, as well as working with former creative partner Whilce Portacio, and also colourist Brent Peeples. One such correspondent is Dan Berry (@fatj00) who met up this weekend with Terri Lubaroff, the COO of multi-platform community-based entertainment company LEGION M, an organisation that we at The Convention Collective have been a fan of pretty much from its inception. LEGION M has been behind one of the most impressive and fastest-paced revolutions in the way that properties have been developed and produced, pulling from the support and funding of its thousands of backers – fans and consumers, all – creating such instant masterpieces as BAD SAMARITAN (David Tennent / Robert Sheehan, dir. Dean Devlin) and MANDY (Nicolas Cage / Andrea Riseborough, dir. Panos Cosmatos)… Whatever LEGION M have put their hand to, from films, television, comics, fan events and more, it’s been a fun ride watching the family grow and thrive with each passing release. And there’s more to come. Here, Dan Berry talks to Terri about the latest developments at LEGION M, what new projects they have to present to fans – including the involvement with highly anticipated cinema release TOLKIEN, the new partnership in Kevin Smith‘s latest film, JAY AND SILENT BOB REBOOT, and the GIRL WITH NO NAME comic book – and what more we can expect from the community: Find out more about LEGION M at their website, https://legionm.com/ Thanks to Terri for taking time out of her very busy con to talk, and also to Dan Berry for bring the interview to us. WCA 2019: IN CONVERSATION WITH TESS FOWLER (RECORDED AT WONDERCON ANAHEIM, 30TH MARCH 2019) Comic-Con International‘s sibling convention, WonderCon (29th-31st March 2019, Anaheim Convention Center), has over the years grown and developed into a truly epic event in the North America comic convention calendar, selling out over its entire weekend and bringing thousands of talented creators, publishers, artists, writers, cosplayers, actors and actresses and much more to Anaheim in California. WonderCon has developed and evolved from what was primarily a passive ‘experience’ delivering show into one which companies and creators can now bring new projects and share updates on brand new content – we have been lucky to have a couple of correspondents visiting the show as Press, catching up with a number of these fresh stories. One such correspondent is Dan Berry (@fatj00) who met up this weekend with comics artist Tess Fowler, who has been on the most incredible creative ride in recent years: not only being part of the superstar team behind the incredibly successful and critically acclaimed KID LOBOTOMY (Black Crown/IDW) with Peter Milligan, as well as being a hugely popular component to the CRITICAL ROLE fandom and community, but also now providing art for the brand new DUNGEONS & DRAGONS comic from IDW Publishing, A DARKENED WISH, written by B. Dave Walter and coloured by Jay Fotos. A DARKENED WISH is a sprawling, epic ensemble book which very much plays into Tess’ wheelhouse, as well as her love of tabletop gaming. Here, in this chat with Dan, she talks about how the book came about, what drives her towards these styles of stories, how her loves and fandoms feed into her work, and teases where the seemingly limitless story of A DARKENED WISH could possibly lead us. Find out more about DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: A DARKENED WISH at its comiXology page, as well as following Tess and B. Dave Walters on social media – they’re quite rightfully very proud of the book and talk about it a lot (as well as lots of other things, such as eating out in L.A.!) Thanks to Tess for taking time out of her very busy con to talk, and also to Dan Berry for bring the interview to us. Intro Music: ‘Punky’, bensound.com
