"Which Way are YOU Going?" This Salvation Meeting - the 35th in the series I have produced for Fortress Radio since the Covid-19 Pandemic struck in March 2020 - is all about walking our life's pathways with Jesus.Do you walk with Him? Talk with Him? There are many times when it is difficult for all of us - and many of us have been directly affected by the virus, of course.Rest assured, that whatever might happen to us here on Earth we, as Christians, are always promised a joyous eternity in Heaven with our Lord and Saviour. Some parts of the meeting are based on some writing I encountered earlier in the week by Commissioner Harry Read - and we also hear his lovely song 'Become Aware of Him'.The band piece is an all-time classic, Ray Steadman-Allen's 'In Quiet Pastures' and some of the songs from that piece are either sung in the service or referenced in my talk.Other music is provided by groups including Wood Green Singing Company, the International Staff Band and Songsters, the Canadian Staff Band, The Melbourne Veterans Band - and there is a lovely solo from Canadian Salvationist Dayna Curtis. All that - and an excerpt from a much-loved Gowans/Larsson musical.God bless you all - and thank you for listening.Marc
Interested in providing menopause coaching services? Whether you're dreaming about having a job you love getting out of bed in the morning for, or you want to ditch your cubicle (or shall we say, kitchen) life right now? Or you love the idea of using your skills and talking to women who want, need, and deserve support… menopause coaching services may just be for you. Before you dive in though you need absolute clarity about 3 things. You need absolute clarity about 3 things: Where you get your leads How you convert them How you deliver the transformation they want Now each of those can go into even more depth. Take leads for example That is all about knowing your avatar, or ideal client. How well do you know what your audience wants, hates, needs, and has already tried? What is it that you will give them that is so enticing that they will want to learn more from you and voluntarily give you their email address? How quickly can they consume it and get a quick win? Clarity here is important too. Is your message absolutely clear to them? Then we can look at the way that you convert leads into customers. Do you email them and then make an offer? Do you set up a phone consultation? Do you offer an in-person consultation, first session, or assessment? And… how good are you at converting them? Do you know what you're going to say, how you're going to say it and have confidence about that? Last of those three things you need to be absolutely clear about is how you deliver the service. Take for instance our Advanced Flipping 50 Fitness Specialists. They can coach via phone, Skype, Facetime, Zoom or in person if that's convenient for the client. It depends on the nature of your service and on the geography between you and your client. I, for example will meet via Skype or Facetime with my international clients. We are going over exercise plans, but we're not working out. I'm writing a plan for them, and then may provide just that, ask for video of them doing moves to assess them, and I may provide video for those less inclined to follow workouts on their own. I've been training this way since the mid 90s. It's Training Peaks style, though I use my own website and member area. What Speed are You Going? Next up, I'm going to walk you through speed. Speed is going to be important for you to look at now and consider whether it's a match for what you need to happen. If for instance it takes you a long time to even get leads that you need to fix right away. I'm sure you can see that as a problem because without what we call traffic whether it's walking in the door or hitting your website, no traffic means no customers sooner or later. Is It Your Livelihood? And if it takes you weeks or months to convert most of your customers, what are you going to live on and eat meanwhile? The goal would be that once you've listened to what your ideal customer wants to buy, you've created that and you'll sell that and they've been waiting and excited to get it. Or if they're new to your list, then they will want to buy it within a predictable time because it's a great fit for exactly what they wanted. When it's predictable how long it will take you to get new customers after you get leads you can relax a little about having a stable revenue. To increase it you'd do more advertising! That's easy! Effective? You then have to talk about how effectively you're doing these things. What is the rate of conversions on your leads? Because if you're only converting a small number (less than 40% of people who come through) there's a gap in the quality of leads that you're attracting or in the messaging and that's something you want to dig into. Measuring What Matters The biggest question is, are you measuring what matters? The number of leads within a certain time period. The number of those leads that converted within a specific period depending on your campaign. The number of those leads that convert later. Depending on the sophistication of your CRM or customer relationship management, in other words, your email and data tracking, you can track these numbers there. And you can also track where your money is coming from. Then from those products and services you can look at how much time it took you. You'll learn if there's really a profit margin for you when you take out your expenses. Menopause Coaching Service A menopause coaching service like that of the Flipping 50 Fitness Specialist is a business. You want to treat it like one, whether you coach 10 hours a week or you coach 40. Customers expect a level of service that can only come from you investing in yourself, your business, and delivering the best over time. I'll link in the show notes to a master class where you can get more information about how to learn more about the business side of personal training and health coaching. I can definitely spare you a few mistakes, and help you find your distinguishing factors that make you exactly the coach someone is looking for. The Christian who follow the patterns of Jesus Christ often ask themselves these questions. What Are You Doing and Where are You Going. The questions help to keep the Christian focused and stable in God Word and Prayer. Many times the Christian have formulars they follow daily like prayer, bible study, and helping others, it is a part of their life and it help them walk a certain way so God is pleased. The world will not understand all of this and they think it is by their choices and own power. The Christian know without God they can do nothing, he wakes them up each day, the dead in Christ is at peace, and nothing goes on that God does not allow. Christians do something called counting up the cost, they also often take self inventory, and always humble. Never thinking more of themselves than they should think. The Christian remembers God eyes are in every place beholding the evil and the good and hear it all. He have angels he has assigned to complete many task concerning his people.

Business Relationships and How to Really Make Them Beneficial to You Going to events, meeting people, getting their contact info, and then what? Building relationships are easy for many entrepreneurs, the bigger challenge is making such relationships beneficial to business. Johnathan Grzybowski, a rogue-risk-taker-turned-serial-entrepreneur and host to the #1 business podcast, shares the story on how his venture turned big right on its first year. Being naturally extroverted, he started talking to people and getting to “every single networking event on the planet” for a 3-year period that he built a ton of network of people. This large group was especially useful when he was about to launch his graphic design platform – pitching them the idea, asking for their feedback, and getting them involved and invested in a way. He does admit that at first, he had to hard-sell his business on every person he meets. Somewhere along the way, he went for more lasting and stronger links by building friendships first. Johnathan also talks about the following: -The demographics to focus on when you are just starting up and grow from there. -The vision beyond revenue. -The beginnings of his first podcast. Listening to this young mind is going to be worth it!
Comments? 888-563-3228 Today is episode 614 of the School of podcasting and we are talking about the most important question a new podcaster should answer before they start. We also have a cool resource for royalty free music. I also share my thought in podcast sponsor markets. The Three Questions I Ask Every Podcast Client 2:29 Tyler Primavera asked me, "I discovered your SOP and ATPC shows and I really appreciate them! I'm slowly working my way through them, sorry to hear about Bernie the cat. I really want to start a podcast in veterinary school (starting in the fall), but I'm afraid of the time commitment. I really think podcasting is a great idea (I wrote in depth about it here at my blog https://wp.me/p9MJTj-1U), but I'm afraid of the commitment. How do I decide to podcast or not? Thank you for your time, Tyler" 1. Why Do You Want to Podcast? If you can't answer this, then don't spend a dime on any equipment. To this Tyler says Through my podcast, I hope to speak (and live) the message that personal well-being is an absolute must during veterinary school, and that no vet student is ever truly alone. He also says: I want my podcast to improve the lives of veterinary students first, and the veterinary field second. I want to do my little part in tackling the big problem of veterinary mental maladies. 2. How Will You Know if It is Successful? While I realize this can change. By answering this question as a consultant I can steer the podcast in the right direction. I can shape the call to action, etc. I can also see if the topic is in alignment with the goal of the show (cause that is not always the case). 3. What are You Going to Quit Doing to Make Time For Your Podcast? This is my main point of this episode. Unless you have a large budget and are farming this out, your podcast s going take more time than you think. While I normally say use a four to one rule (a one hour podcast will take four hours to create start to finish), that number could easily be five to one when you're new. With this in mind, unless you have a time machine there are still only 24 hours in a day. Most of us do not start a podcast because we are sitting around watching Dr. Phil and being bored. It is typically quite the opposite. In the article Tyler says this, "Right now, I have plenty of time to make a podcast, because I am not in veterinary school. How will I be able to attend school for 40 hours a week, study, workout, maintain a long distance relationship, and do a podcast? I have no idea. But supposedly, if there is a will, there is a way." This is not always true Chances are you are going to be likely giving up something. Will it be: TV Video games Sleep Family time Exercise Work other hobbies If you have no margin in your life, then you are going to have to stop doing something to make time for podcasting. This is not an opinion, it is a fact that there are only 24 hours in a day. The Three Things You Need to Podcast I've mentioned this before. You need your attitude, your health, and support of your family. When you stop sleeping, you health fails which may lead to a bad attitude. If you don't have the support of your family, then that also kills your attitude (and the stress can lead to health issues). If you don't have the right attitude, it may come across the microphone, and overall kill the motivation to put out great content. With this in mind, what are you going to give up to podcast? When I was in my 20's I was on a few bowling leagues. I gave up time watching TV (but I was with my family). When I was in a band, I gave up time with my family to go to practice. Being in a band also made me give up sleep as I often didn't get home until 3 am. Podcasting is no different, so when you are excited to start a podcast you need to look at the amount of margin in your life and see if you have the time to create a podcast, or the budget to farm it out. Where I Will Be This Week 16:03 Cincinnati Podcasters Meetup on 4/18 Podfecta Podcasting Event 4/20 - Nashville Tennessee Craft Content 4/21 Nashville Tennessee Cool Resource For Royalty Free Music 16:52 Thanks to Steve Stewart for turning me on to this in his Podcast Editors Club Facebook Group who told me about MelodyLoops.com where the music is about $10 a track and you can go back into the track you purchased and have it generate a longer/shorter version of the music. Dave What Do You Think of Podmosphere? 20:39 Caine Dorr asked me about my thoughts on Podmosphere. So here it is I've never heard of podmosphere, and when I look at their site it looks like the same site I've seen over and over again. Here is the concept. You sign up your show and list your approximate downloads per episode. You list what your fee in CPM which stands for Price Per Thousand Downloads. Most of these sites have an example like this (straight from the podomosphere website) "Podcasters sign up their account. They type in info about their podcast as genre, language the podcast is in, what country the podcast has a majority of their listeners from, CPM($/1000 listener), amount of listeners(last 3 episodes amount of listeners added up and divided by 3. Example podcast A has 1500 listeners on their last episode and 2000, and 1000 on the two episodes before. This means that 1500+2000+1000=4500/3=1500 is their average amount of listeners), upload a image with their statistics of amount of listeners(a photo of the statistics page that clearly shows how many listeners the podcast had on their last 3 episodes). When Podmosphere then verifies the podcast if the numbers are correct, the podcast shows up in the search engine." When I pasted that paragraph, my Grammarly went nuts (upload a image....). Podmosphere takes 25% of if you are charging $30 per episode, and you get 300 downloads here is the math $30*.75 is $22.5 for your CPM after Podmosphere takes their cut. That calculates to $22.5/1000 = .0225 per download .0225 X 300 downloads = $6.75 per episode. I've seen some of these before, if you go to sponsororama you will see a message: "Thanks for visiting The Sponsorama sponsorship marketplace shutdown in September 2017" Cast.Market is a Ghost to Me This is a company that spends money on branding (I often see their items in a swag bad, but I've never met them in person at ANY podcasting events). On their website (and I'm not making this up) it states: cast.market is a free service. We don't charge podcasters anything. Through the campaign, creator businesses can pay podcasters directly to sponsor their show. Our credit card processor charges 2.9% + .30 cents for this. cast.market adds an additional 7.1% So its free except for the 7.1% of the income you are taking. Here is What is Wrong With These Podcast Advertising Marketplaces They are based on CPM, and the more niche your show is the more you should charge. However, so far it doesn't seem to be working. There is one BIG thing missing from these marketplaces: sponsors. Sure it sounds like a good idea, but in the end, if there are no sponsors it doesn't work. Why is there no email saying, "He this month we paid out X amount of money to podcasters? Also be sure to notice things when you go to cast.market and look at their news section and see the latest update is from April 14 of 2017. So there has been nothing newsworthy for a year? For the most part CPM pricing does not work for 92% of podcasters (unless you're happy making $27 a month and adding another hour of time for the paperwork). I have not looked into Podbean's offerings and marketplace yet. As the one thing these services are missing are advertisers, if the rules of supply and demand are in effect it may be worth looking into advertising your show on another show. It's an idea. Question of the Month 28:14 As I record this it is April 1. The first quarter of 2018 is over. What had you planned on doing in that first quarter that didn't, and what are you going to do differently to make it happen in this quarter. You can leave your answer using the options on the contact page I need your answer by April 26th Podcast Rewind: Should I Start a Podcast Episode 97 29:45 I appeared on episode 97 of should I start a podcast talking about THE COMMON PODCASTING MISTAKES YOU NEED TO AVOID Podcast Rodeo 30:33 The podcast rodeo show is where we grab a random podcast and see how long we can hang on. Spotify and Amazon want your files to be exported at 14 lufs. Many podcasters were exporting at -16. Apparently -14 is louder. How much louder? Is it a big deal? When I took a wave file and exported the same original file in the different formats, it was about 2 db louder (here is a screenshot where you can see the -14 lufs is louder. For me, I was riding my bike this week and some podcasts I had to strain to hear over the traffic. I'm going with the louder setting.
