The James Bond talk isn't over yet! I invite my friend and frequent guest Matt Lackey back to the show to discuss Licence to Kill, the 16th film in the Eon Productions Bond series and Timothy Daltons 2nd and Final outing as the 007 character.I love this movie and wanted to chat about it with someone who hasn't seen all the Bond movies. What would their reaction being to seeing Daltons portrayal for the first time in a post Daniel Craig Bond world? And without ever seeing any of the Roger Moore films? We both apparently had a lot to talk about and it made for a fun discussion. We also break the seal on a special bottle I got over the summer when I visited the James Beam Distillery. We're trying Little Book Chapter 8: Path Not Taken. This was the 2024 release of the series and features a blend of rye whiskeys ranging from 5 to 18 years old.Check out my ranking of all 25 Bond films Here.and my ranking of every Opening Bond Song.

When projects in Wellington get mooted, there are often artists impressions of the project showing Wellington on a brilliantly sunny day, with well-dressed joggers going past, sober teenagers discussing world issues and no homeless anywhere. The reality is different and council's artists impressions - with roofed bus stops and fences that aren't actually what will go there are being called into question. Dave Armstrong talks to Jesse about this and other issues he says need solving.

BBC TV Licence Is a Poll Tax – Time to Scrap It? BBC #TVlicence #Axethetax #BBCbias #JonGaunt#UKPolitics Is the BBC TV licence still worth paying in 2025 — or is it an outdated poll tax on British households? We debate whether the BBC's funding model should be scrapped in the digital age. I worked inside the BBC for years, winning three Sony Awards in one night as a top talk radio presenter. But I'm now ashamed of what it has become — from political bias and overpaid talent to a shrinking audience and competition from streaming giants like Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify. Mike Wills speak to Stephen Grootes — Money Show host on CapeTalk and 702, seasoned journalist, and sharp political commentator — who’s raising the alarm on what he calls the “driver’s licence card tyranny.” Grootes argues that our current licensing system is outdated, unnecessarily punitive, and may even be designed to sustain corrupt practices rather than genuinely serve the public. Presenter John Maytham is an actor and author-turned-talk radio veteran and seasoned journalist. His show serves a round-up of local and international news coupled with the latest in business, sport, traffic and weather. The host’s eclectic interests mean the program often surprises the audience with intriguing book reviews and inspiring interviews profiling artists. A daily highlight is Rapid Fire, just after 5:30pm. CapeTalk fans call in, to stump the presenter with their general knowledge questions. Another firm favourite is the humorous Thursday crossing with award-winning journalist Rebecca Davis, called “Plan B”. In early June 1994, 23-year-old Christene Skubish and her 3-year-old son, Nick, vanished near Bullion Bend on U.S. Route 50 in the Sierra Nevada. After days of searching turned up nothing, a local motorist, Deborah Hoyt, reported seeing a naked young woman lying on the roadside in the dead of night. The tip prompted a daytime search that uncovered their vehicle—Christene was dead, but Nick was miraculously alive after five days alone. The vision of a nude woman, repeatedly reported by strangers, had seemingly led rescuers to them. In March 2015, a car carrying 25-year-old Lynn Jennifer Groesbeck and her 18-month-old daughter, Lily, plunged off a bridge into the icy Spanish Fork River in Utah. The crash went undiscovered for nearly 14 hours—until local fishermen spotted the overturned vehicle. When four police officers arrived to investigate, each would later report hearing a distinct female voice calling for help. The voice led them to the wreckage, where they found Lily still alive, suspended upside-down in her car seat just inches above the freezing water. Her mother had died on impact. The haunting nature of the rescue—the chilling voice no one can explain. Was it adrenaline, shared hallucination… or something beyond? This Whispering Woods episode explores the facts, the folklore, and the lingering mystery that surrounds the rescue of Baby Lily Groesbeck.OBSCURATA - Apple Spotify AmazonThe BOOKBY US A COFFEEJoin Sarah's new FACEBOOK GROUPSubscribe to our PATREONEMAIL us your storiesJoin us on INSTAGRAMJoin us on TWITTERJoin us on FACEBOOKVisit our WEBSITEResearch Links:https://www.cbsnews.com/news/officers-who-saved-baby-in-icy-river-heard-mysterious-voice/https://www.deseret.com/2015/3/16/20560936/voice-heard-by-baby-lily-s-rescuers-came-from-her-mother-s-love-family-sayshttps://abc30.com/utah-miracle-baby-river-spanish-fork/551935/https://news.sky.com/story/babys-rescuers-heard-mysterious-cry-for-help-10368394https://time.com/3745101/lily-groesbeck-rescue-video/https://time.com/3741642/baby-river-utah-hospital-lily/Thanks so much for listening, and we'll catch up with you again on Wednesday.Sarah and Tobie xx"Spacial Winds," Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licenced under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licencehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/;;;SURVEY Hosted on Acast. In this week's episode, we travel deep into the misty Pennsylvania woods. Just outside Malvern lies a stretch of old railway known as Duffy's Cut – a place where 57 Irish immigrant workers vanished during the summer of 1832. Official records blamed cholera, but whispers of violence and a mass grave persisted for generations. Locals spoke of green and blue ghostly lights dancing through the trees and spirits denied a proper burial.OBSCURATA - Apple Spotify AmazonThe BOOKBY US A COFFEEJoin Sarah's new FACEBOOK GROUPSubscribe to our PATREONEMAIL us your storiesJoin us on INSTAGRAMJoin us on TWITTERJoin us on FACEBOOKVisit our WEBSITEResearch Links:https://www.historyireland.com/revisiting-the-ghosts-of-duffys-cuthttps://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/feb/23/ireland-woman-buried-us-repatriatedhttps://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-ireland-massgrave-idUSTRE59H3EG20091018https://www.spookystuff.com/blog/how-a-thanksgiving-ghost-story-solved-an-old-mysteryhttps://astonishinglegends.com/episodes/2021/1/27/massacre-at-duffys-cuthttps://nwlocalpaper.com/duffys-cut-buried-historyhttps://paweekendfun.com/the-saga-of-duffys-cut-tellus-360https://thecemeterytraveler.blogspot.com/2011/06/duffys-cut-57-massacre.htmlhttps://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3231994-the-ghosts-of-duffy-s-cutThanks so much for listening, and we'll catch up with you again on Wednesday.Sarah and Tobie xx"Spacial Winds," Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licenced under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licencehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/;;;SURVEY Hosted on Acast. In this week's episode, we explore two extraordinary reincarnation cases backed by serious research. In India, Titu Singh began speaking at age two about a past life as Suresh Verma, a murdered business and in Sri Lanka, Purnima Ekanayake recalled life as a male incense maker killed in a traffic accident, offering eerily accurate knowledge of his trade and family.OBSCURATA - Apple Spotify AmazonThe BOOKBY US A COFFEEJoin Sarah's new FACEBOOK GROUPSubscribe to our PATREONEMAIL us your storiesJoin us on INSTAGRAMJoin us on TWITTERJoin us on FACEBOOKVisit our WEBSITEResearch Links:https://psi-encyclopedia.spr.ac.uk/articles/toran-titu-singh-reincarnation-casehttps://www.indiatoday.in/magazine/society-the-arts/story/19881231-boy-in-up-claims-to-be-reincarnation-of-slain-agra-businessman-797838-1988-12-31https://reincarnation-research.com/titu-singh/https://theparanormalguide.com/portfolio-view/the-reincarnation-of-titu-singh/https://web.archive.org/web/20080213012041/http://www.childpastlives.org/library/singh.htmhttps://psi-encyclopedia.spr.ac.uk/articles/purnima-ekanayakeThanks so much for listening, and we'll catch up with you again on Wednesday.Sarah and Tobie xx"Spacial Winds," Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licenced under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licencehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/;;;SURVEY Hosted on Acast.
