Relapse is one of the biggest problems people in recovery face, especially in the beginning. For most of us, it takes multiple attempts before we can stay sober. Today I sit down with Paul Schulte, an EMDR expert and trainer to talk about how EMDR can help with relapse prevention. Paul is bbased in Barcelona and he is coming up on 23 years of sobriety! He's the creator of the iMover app, a guided EMDR tool that helps with relapse prevention. This app has also helped people with extreme cases of trauma, like soldiers, refugees, and abuse survivors. In this episode, you'll learn: • How EMDR helped Paul finally integrate decades of unprocessed grief • Why talk therapy so often can't reach trauma, and how EMDR does • How childhood trauma gets hardwired in the nervous system and repurposed under adult stress • Why relapse, not the physical symptoms we usually name, is the real number one symptom of alcoholism Before we jump in, did you know we have a youtube channel with over 750 videos? It's called, you guessed it, The one day at a time recovery podcast! Oddly enough my team tells me that only 43% of listeners subscribe. So if you could do me a huge favor, and so that you don't miss new episodes, please hit that subscribe button. It costs you nothing, it only takes a second, and it's a huge help to me in getting the message of recovery out to those who desperately need it. Thanks friend! So without further delay, please enjoy this episode with Paul. SHOW NOTES: Guest Website: https://emdrbypaul.com/

You're eating more protein.Choosing healthier foods.Cutting back on sugar.Trying to do everything "right."So why don't you feel better? In this episode, Janell explores one of the biggest misconceptions in nutrition: that healthy eating is simply about choosing healthy foods. While food quality absolutely matters, it's only one part of the equation.Your body also needs enough nourishment, appropriate meal timing, healthy digestion, balanced blood sugar, and an eating pattern that supports your current season of life. A meal that works beautifully for one person may not be the right fit for someone else—and even healthy foods can't overcome chronic under-fueling, constant stress, or a nervous system that's stuck in survival mode.In this episode, Janell discusses:Why healthy foods don't automatically create healthy outcomesThe difference between healthy foods and a supportive eating patternHow under-eating can contribute to fatigue, cravings, weight plateaus, and poor recoveryWhy meal timing matters just as much as food qualityThe connection between stress, digestion, and nutrient absorptionHow fear of food and restrictive eating patterns can quietly undermine your healthWhy context—not food labels—should guide your nutrition decisionsIf you've been frustrated because you're eating "healthy" but still don't feel like yourself, this episode offers a more complete way to understand what your body may actually need.Related EpisodesIf this conversation resonated with you, you may also enjoy:The Hunger Food Can Never SatisfyFood Noise: What It Actually Means (And Why It's Not Just About Food)Why You're Exhausted... Welcome back to PART 3 of The Reconnection Series! My free five-part coaching journey for ambitious mums where each podcast episode explores one simple question designed to help you reconnect with yourself as your next chapter unfolds. In PART 1, we started noticing ourselves. In PART 2, we moved from awareness into connection, getting curious about who we are now and what makes us feel more like ourselves. In PART 3, we began rebuilding trust in ourselves. And now, in part 4, it's time to CHOOSE and LEAD ourselves through life. This week's juicy question to ask yourself is: What would the woman I'm becoming choose? When we're navigating change or standing on the edge of a new chapter, it can be easy to get stuck asking:What should I do? What makes the most sense? What does everyone else need from me?But what if you paused and asked a different question...one that was much more 'YOU-centred'This episode is an invitation to step out of the noise of the present moment - and instead connect with the version of you you're already becoming. Not some perfect future version of yourself. Just you, a little further along the road.Your Reconnection Experiment: A Message From Future YouImagine yourself a litte way into the future - maybe a few months from now...And imagine yourself living your life from a place where your current circumstances have shifted a bit.Perhaps life feels more aligned, connected and intentional. Really slow down enough to connect with that vision and that version of yourself...Then ask yourself:What would 'future me' want me to know right now? What would she encourage me to stop doing? What would she tell me to trust? What would she remind me matters? What would she encourage me to choose?AND: What does future me want to thank current me for?Capture your thoughts, however feels natural, and without overthinking it.You might be surprised by what comes through when you give yourself permission to listen to your own inner knowing.Because sometimes the clarity we're looking for isn't found by thinking harder about the present...it's found by connecting with the woman we're becoming.I'd love to hear what wisdom 'Future You' has to share with you - drop me an email or DM me on Instagram and let me know me!ABOUT YOUR HOST - Tamsin WilliamsonIf you're ready to explore this work more deeply, you'll find details of all the ways we can connect or work together below:Find out about my signature coaching and mentorship programme, The Gateway >> HEREExplore my 90-minute Springboard Session Experience >> HEREBook a FREE 30-min discovery call with me >> HEREDownload my FREE GUIDE - '20 Ways To Claim Your Comeback' >> HEREFollow me on Instagram >> HEREWelcome to Do Your Thing - a bold, beautiful celebration of modern Motherhood, on YOUR terms.Hosted by Tamsin Williamson, The Identity & Self-Leadership Coach for Ambitious Women Ready To Redefine Life Beyond Motherhood.Every week, join me for open and unfiltered conversations with awe-inspiring women (who also happen to be mothers) about how they do their thing - in life, work and everything in between.Together, let's throw out the rule book, shed expectations and shine a light on just how varied and vibrant modern motherhood can be. If you've been listening to the podcast for any length of time, you know that I love to support sober authors. When I got sober 32 years ago, there were exactly zero memoirs about recovering from alcoholism and addiction. I'm so grateful that nowadays, so many people are sharing their stories, so the people who are thinking about quitting can see that it's possible for them too. Today I sit down with Tracy Viola, author of Pretty Wrecked: Confessions of a Teen Addict, who got sober at 19, over 30 years ago, after a childhood shaped by her parents' divorce, an abusive stepfather, and an absent, alcoholic father. In this episode, you'll learn: • How Tracy's NERD mantra keeps her making the next right decision, one day at a time • The trash can metaphor she uses to describe carrying (and finally unpacking) trauma • How she made peace with her father by separating fault from responsibility • Why she teaches teenagers about the "red zone" and a "yellow light" approach to risk • How surviving a college sexual assault shaped the work she does with teens today There are a lot of insightful nuggets in this conversation, especially if you're early in recovery. If you need a basic breakdown of how to stay sober for your first 30 days, there's a free guide at odatchat.com. There's also links in the show notes for all the action steps and resources mentioned there, including Tracy's new book! So without further delay, please enjoy this episode with Tracy. Since it has been 10 years since I started the podcast, I wanted to highlight some of the most popular episodes with you. This one is with Dr. Anna Lembke. She is Chief of the Stanford Addiction Medicine Dual Diagnosis Clinic at Stanford University and author of the #1 Bestseller "Dopamine Nation: Finding Balance In the Age of Indulgence". Over the years, I have found myself repeatedly sharing what I learned from her book, to explain the role dopamine plays in addiction, why we get so depleted of dopamine after drinking and using, and how we can speed up the process of healing. If you are early in recovery and you're struggling you don't have to do this alone. There are many paths to recovery, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. If traditional methods haven't worked for you, you might want to consider coaching. I have been supporting people in early recovery for over 30 years now. In my process, I use methods like internal family systems, hypnosis, and goal-oriented coaching to help you get to the root causes and help you build momentum in sobriety. If you'd like to learn more, visit makesobrietystick.com to see if coaching is for you. So without further delay, please enjoy this episode with Dr. Anna Lembke. SHOW NOTES: Guest Website:

Renowned NYC-based plastic surgeon Dr. Lara Devgan joins us to explain what actually works and how to create a thoughtful, long-term approach to looking refreshed without looking overdone. In this episode, we cover: What women over 50 are really looking for: Why the goal is often not to look younger, but to look rested, healthy, vibrant, and like yourself, and how menopause changes the skin, hair, face, and overall appearance. Understanding the different types of facelifts: A clear explanation of full facelifts, deep-plane facelifts, vertical restore techniques, mid-facelifts, mini-facelifts, and neck lifts, and how a surgeon determines which approach may be appropriate for different stages of facial aging. Suture suspension and thread lifting: What suture suspension actually is, how it differs from traditional threads, who may be a candidate, and why there is so much disagreement among surgeons about these procedures. The aging neck: Why the neck can be one of the most frustrating areas for women in midlife and beyond, what happens to the platysma muscle as we age, and when Botox, a Nefertiti-style approach, or surgery may make sense. Tired-looking eyes: Why the eyes can make you look older or more exhausted than you feel—and how to think about upper and lower blepharoplasty, under-eye puffiness, dark circles, hollowness, and the role (and limitations) of eye creams. Hollowing, volume loss, and facial balance: How menopause-related changes in fat, bone, skin, and soft tissue affect the face, and why simply adding more filler isn't always the answer. What noninvasive treatments can, and cannot, do: A realistic look at skincare, lasers, injectables, biostimulators, regenerative treatments, and other nonsurgical options for women who aren't ready for surgery or don't want it. How to combine surgery, noninvasive treatments, and skincare: Why the best aesthetic plan isn't necessarily one procedure. Learn how women can think about their face and skin as a long-term investment, combining the right surgical procedures with nonsurgical treatments and a strong skincare routine over time. Red flags when choosing a plastic surgeon: What women should look for when evaluating a doctor, how to think about credentials and experience, why seeing before-and-after photos matters, and warning signs that a surgeon may be selling a procedure rather than creating an individualized plan. Skincare for mature and postmenopausal skin: The importance of protecting the skin barrier, using targeted active ingredients, and protecting against environmental damage—and how to approach vitamin C, retinoids, hyaluronic acid, sunscreen, and other popular anti-aging ingredients. Whether you're considering a facelift, neck lift, eyelid surgery, injectables, lasers, regenerative treatments, or simply want a better skincare routine, this conversation offers a practical roadmap for navigating plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine after 50—to look like the best, most rested version of yourself. Dr. Devgan trained as a classical artist before medicine — Yale, Johns Hopkins Medical School, Columbia and New York Presbyterian for residency and fellowship. She operates on the principle that beauty is in the details. Millimeter-level changes. Not transformation — enhancement. Her most fulfilled patients aren't the ones who look younger. Most people believe trauma is healed through insight. That if you understand your patterns, identify your triggers, and process your story cognitively, change will naturally follow. But in reality, many people discover something confusing: They understand their trauma… but their body still reacts as if it's happening now. In this episode, we explore the gap between psychological insight, subconscious rewiring, and nervous system regulation and why true healing requires more than cognitive understanding. You'll learn why trauma is stored not just in thoughts, but in physiological and nervous system patterns, and why strategies like NLP, mindset coaching, and awareness work can fall short when the body is still organized around survival. We also explore what it actually looks like when change becomes embodied, not just intellectual, and how practitioners can ethically integrate trauma-informed coaching, subconscious work, and nervous system awareness without overstepping scope or oversimplifying complex trauma responses. This episode covers: Why trauma is not resolved through insight alone The difference between cognitive awareness and nervous system regulation How subconscious patterns are reinforced in the body Why clients "get it" but still feel stuck The intersection of NLP, trauma work, and coaching What ethical trauma-informed practice actually requires Why behavior change fails when the nervous system is still in survival What real integration and embodied change looks like If you are a coach, therapist, or practitioner working with trauma survivors, or someone who has done extensive self-development but still feels stuck in reactive patterns, this episode will help you understand what traditional frameworks often miss. Send Ken a Text Message about the PodcastEpisode 50: Four Years of Surviving Alzheimer's and What's Next" HOW DID I GET HERE ?"In the 50th episode of the Surviving Alzheimer's podcast, recorded August 9, 2026, the host marks four years since launching the show, noting 50 episodes, over 33,000 downloads, and strong listener feedback. He explains a recent slowdown in releases (only six episodes in 2025 and three so far in 2026), partly due to Shanna's slow progression and the emotional difficulty of revisiting past journal entries. During that time, he continued leading a Surviving Alzheimer's support group, attending another group, and providing one-on-one coaching. To reach more people, he plans to add an indexed, topic-based episode catalog to survalz.com, offer webinar-style classes for caregivers, and produce more frequent, likely shorter, educational episodes that share coaching guidance for common caregiving situations.00:00 50 Episodes Milestone02:03 Why Episodes Slowed03:39 Support Groups and Coaching04:27 Making Episodes Easier to Find06:39 Webinars and Group Teaching07:47 Shorter Coaching Style Episodes09:07 New Educational DirectionGet the FREE Guide to Responding to Repeated Questions Visit the Surviving Alzheimer's Podcast Website (survalz.com) to Register for the Support Group, Newsletter and more ...Visit the Podcast Facebook page

While training a puppy or new dog with treats is essential for dog / puppy training basics, you don't have to rely on food forever. In this episode, I break down the best way to reward your dog without treats by leveraging environmental rewards and intrinsic motivation.Whether you are looking for essential puppy training tips, figuring out how to train a new dog without food during walks, or wanting to know how to reward your dog using the world around them, moving beyond treat training a dog is entirely possible. In this episode, you'll learn:The difference between extrinsic rewards in the environment (like a stick in the woods) and intrinsic motivation. Why some dogs naturally transition off food rewards easier than others, and how to identify what motivates your dog.The truth about sniffing on walks: when it acts as calming enrichment versus when it triggers over-arousal.How to handle foraging and "leave it" without overworking your dog's cognitive bandwidth. The distinction between emotional reactivity and arousal control, and how self-regulation actually works.Timestamps:0:00 - 2:41 2 Ways to Use Environment as Reward2:42 - 5:43 When Sniffing is More Valuable than Treats Outside5:44 - 8:07 Arousal Control vs Dog ReactivityMORE DOG TRAINING (for free!)
One of the first questions I get almost every time someone calls the clinic is whether I take insurance. The answer is no. But that answer deserves the full context. Not just the logistics, but the structural reality behind why that question matters so much, what it reveals about how we have all been conditioned to think about healthcare, and what it actually takes to build a model that produces different outcomes. This is the episode where I am going to be completely honest with you about the model, the investment, and what this work actually requires. I am not going to try to sell you on anything. I am just going to tell you the truth and let you decide if this is the right fit for where you are right now.Inside this episode, we cover:The critical difference between direct primary care and functional medicine, and why conflating them creates expectations that do not match realityWhy the insurance model is structurally incompatible with root cause medicine, and why that is a design problem, not a values problemWhat prior authorizations are actually doing to clinical care, and why the administrative burden is consuming time that belongs in the room with patientsThe Medicare letter about civil penalties for ordering labs I consider clinically essential, and what that reveals about how the system is actually designedWhy the reference ranges are as broad as they are, and who benefits when everything stays in the normal rangeWhat this work actually requires from the patient: time, active participation, and financial investment, addressed honestly and without softeningWhy the women who see the most significant outcomes are almost never the ones with the simplest clinical picturesWhy operating outside the insurance model is not a workaround. It is what makes the depth of the clinical work possible. Why I left conventional medicine, and what fifteen years inside the system taught me about what it was and was not designed to doA transaction is when you pay someone to do something for you. A transformation is when you do the work together. That distinction is the whole difference between what the conventional model provides and what this one is built to produce. If you have been drawn to this work, consumed the content, resonated with the framework, and found yourself wondering what working within it actually looks like, this episode is the honest answer to that question.Share this episode with one woman who has been asking why root cause medicine is not covered by her plan. In this episode, she breaks down the communication skills, mindset, and courtroom strategies that make the difference. Heather covers what attorneys actually want from an expert witness, why depositions are now being treated like trial cross-examinations, and why credibility has less to do with confidence and more to do with cognitive empathy and preparation. She also explains the difference between being an expert and being an authority, and why that distinction determines whether the jury believes you. You're doing the work. You're investing in yourself. You're making better decisions. You're healing. You're setting boundaries. You're building healthier habits. So why does it still feel like you're behind? One of the biggest mistakes high achievers make is believing growth only counts when there's something visible to show for it- aka a promotion, more money, a thriving business, weight loss, or another milestone. But that's not how transformation actually works. In this episode, I'm breaking down the three stages of growth that almost no one talks about: internal growth, maintenance growth, and external growth. You'll learn why the biggest changes often happen long before your life looks different, why maintaining progress during difficult seasons is a form of growth, and why so many ambitious women quit just before their results begin to show. If you've been wondering whether all of your hard work is actually paying off, this episode will change the way you measure progress forever. 1-1 Coaching Consult: www.chatwithjess.com FREE Guide- 50 Trauma Informed Coaching Questions: https://jessicademarchis.myflodesk.com/50questions Stay in Touch: www.jessicademarchis.com IG @jess_demarchis_coaching
Send us Fan MailIf taking more than a long weekend feels impossible, the problem is rarely your work ethic, it's the structure underneath your business. We're running a blunt but freeing 30-day test: if you disappeared for a month, what's the first thing that goes wrong? What breaks first? When you answer honestly, you stop guessing and start building a business that can breathe without you.We share a hard lesson from Jen's early years in the beauty industry: a business can look wildly successful and still be worth nothing without the owner. That leads to a critical distinction many entrepreneurs never get taught. There's one path where you build clients and revenue and end up with a demanding job that pays only when you show up. There's another path where you build an actual company, with standards, decision-making, and delivery that hold steady whether or not you're in the room. Even if you never plan to sell, the “could it sell?” question is the sharpest way to test if your business has a life of its own or if it's borrowing yours. Then we walk through four layers you can score in minutes: delivery, decisions, money, and relationships. You'll get simple micro moves for each layer, like writing a 10-step SOP for your most repeated task, creating decision rules so your phone stops being the bottleneck, automating one recurring invoice, and visibly looping a team member into a key client relationship so trust transfers before it's urgent. The goal isn't to feel bad about your score; it's to find your weakest layer and rebuild it fast.Listen, pick one micro move to do this week, and tell someone your score so you don't do it alone. If this helps, subscribe, share it with a friend who can't unplug, and leave a review so more small business owners can build a sellable, livable company. Thanks for listening! Connect With Me:

Today's guest is Lee Schwartz , a speaker, author, advocate, and proud father of two former NFL players. In his book Raising Giants, Lee shares the real-life story of how love, discipline, and vision helped shape his sons, Jeffrey and Mitchell, into elite athletes and grounded men. He serves on the West Coast Advisory Board of the Concussion and CTE Foundation , which is dedicated to researching the causes of CTE. Lee joined the podcast to share his powerful story and advocacy. In this episode, Lee discusses his family's journey with football and his growing passion for CTE advocacy. Lee shares his "sobering" experience attending the CTE summit, which inspired him to join the advisory board of the Concussion and CTE Foundation. He discusses the difficult reality that CTE is currently only diagnosable postmortem and the importance for parents to be aware of the risks to their children of playing contact sports when young.Key Topics Discussed:Lee's Journey: How writing the book Raising Giants led him to the Concussion and CTE Foundation.Youth Sports & CTE: The critical need for parents to educate themselves about the risks of contact sports, emphasizing the statistic that approximately 1.1 million high school football players exist, yet only about 11 go on to play 10 years in the NFL.The Science of CTE: An explanation of how the brain moves and sustains damage from both concussive and sub-concussive hits. A recent study mentioned in the episode found that "neurodegenerative mortality was nearly four times higher in NFL players."Warning Signs: Symptoms to watch for (like memory issues, headaches, depression, and personality changes) and a reminder that the youngest case of CTE diagnosed so far was in a 15-year-old.Relevant Prior Episodes:Interview with Julia Manning from the Concussion and CTE Foundation.Interview with Laura Dyer (personal story of a brother diagnosed with CTE).Resources MentionedLee's Book: Raising Giants: My Extraordinary Journey with TWO NFL Sons Author Website: www.raisinggiantsbook.com Social Media:X (Twitter): @RaisingGiants_Instagram: @raising_giants_bookFacebook: Raising GiantsFoundation: Concussion and CTE Foundation (formerly Concussion Legacy Foundation) Website: concussionfoundation.org Free Support: Available via the CLF HelpLine (free, personalized support via phone, text, or email): https://concussionandcte.org/helpline/Connect with Bethany:Website: https://theconcussioncoach.com/Free Guide: "5 Best Ways to Support Your Loved One Dealing with a Concussion" on the websiteFree Consultation: https://theconcussioncoach.com/free-consultation

Here are the show notes for this episode:How many times have you been told your labs are normal while your body was telling you something completely different? That disconnect is not in your head. It is in the test. Specifically, it is in the difference between what those tests were designed to measure and what your body actually needs someone to ask about. There are two standards operating in medicine right now that most patients have no idea are different. One is normal. One is optimal. The gap between them is where most of the women I work with have been living for years. Below their potential. Above the disease threshold. Invisible to the system.Today I am walking through exactly what is being missed, why it is being missed, and what it actually takes to close that gap.Inside this episode, we cover:Why standard lab reference ranges were built from population averages that include a lot of sick, depleted, and metabolically compromised peopleWhy TSH alone is not a thyroid evaluation, and what a complete thyroid panel actually requiresFerritin: the storage iron marker almost never ordered, what the functional optimal actually is, and why a woman at eleven will be told her iron is fineFasting insulin: why this inexpensive, widely available test catches insulin resistance a decade before fasting glucose rises, and why it is almost never orderedWhy a single morning cortisol value tells you almost nothing about the rhythm that governs your energy, sleep, hormonal health, and metabolic functionVitamin D, HSCRP, and homocysteine: what the conventional thresholds are missing and what the research actually supportsThe functional tests that fill the gaps: four-point cortisol curve with DHEA, hair tissue mineral analysis, comprehensive stool analysis, functional blood panel interpretation, and genomicsWhy functional testing is not supplement selling. It is pattern recognition. The story of a patient who came in with five years of normal labs and a folder full of happy faces on markers that were anything but optimal, and what the data revealed when someone finally asked the right questionsThe data was always there. The question just needed to change. You deserve to know what is actually happening in your physiology. Not just whether you have crossed the disease threshold. That information is more accessible than most people realize, and it is the foundation of every meaningful intervention.Share this episode with one woman who has been told her labs are normal and still does not feel fine. Anika sat down with Tim Lindsay to explore what it really takes to build a publishing company from the ground up—starting with negative net worth and zero safety net. The conversation revealed the realities of bootstrapping Tellwell Publishing to over 6,000 books, the critical differences between traditional and self-publishing, and how a 128-day NICU crisis tested his leadership. Tim's journey offers a masterclass in resilience, scaling teams, and understanding the true strategic value of writing a book.In This EpisodeQuitting a day job with massive credit card debt and mastering the art of bootstrappingThe evolution of self-publishing and why traditional publishing gatekeepers are losing their gripThe three core motivations for writing a book: Give, Build, and JourneyScaling a team from 1 to 12 (the honeymoon phase) versus the painful jump to 30 employeesNavigating a 128-day NICU crisis while keeping a growing business from collapsingWhy the "Guide" function is the missing link in the modern publishing landscapeWriting The Call to Authorship in just 30 minutes a day before the second cup of coffeeThe importance of team cohesion and why traditional HR rules often miss the markTimestamps00:00 Introduction: Bootstrapping a publishing company from nothing01:34 The leap into self-employment with $50,000 in credit card debt07:04 How Amazon and Print-on-Demand revolutionized the publishing industry10:40 Understanding the real reasons people write books (Give, Build, Journey)12:25 The incredible story of The 10-Year-Old Man and publishing for impact21:44 The honeymoon startup phase and the chaos of scaling past 12 employees29:29 The parallels between starting a business, writing a book, and starting a family32:53 Tim's personal writing routine for The Call to Authorship36:58 Surviving a 128-day NICU crisis without burning out the business43:56 Why the "Guide" function became Tellwell Publishing's secret sauce48:34 Redefining book success: visibility and strategy over royalties51:14 Why team cohesion matters more than traditional management55:08 Atomic Habits and a powerful William Blake quote on taking actionKey Insights & TakeawaysInsight 1: The Three Core Motivations for Authorship (Give, Build, Journey) People don't just write books to make a profit. The drive to publish typically stems from three areas: "Give" (serving the reader or society), "Build" (using the book as a strategic tool to grow a business or speaking career), and the "Journey" (personal healing, expression, and meaning). Understanding your primary motivation changes how you write and market the book.Insight 2: The "Guide" Function is the Missing Link in Publishing While self-publishing offers higher royalties and creative control, it can be an isolating and overwhelming process. Tellwell succeeded by institutionalizing the "Guide" role—a mix of advice, project management, quality control, and emotional encouragement that empowers authors without removing their creative autonomy.Insight 3: The Danger Zone of Scaling is Between 12 and 30 Employees Growing a team to 12 people feels like a honeymoon phase where everyone communicates like a volleyball team in a huddle. But scaling past 20 requires building a functional management team. This transition drains cash flow, demands rigorous hiring, and risks creating a negative flywheel if bad hires lead to customer issues and low morale.Insight 4: A Book is a Strategic Tool, Not a Lottery Ticket Competing against millions of books and streaming platforms makes getting rich off royalties incredibly difficult. The modern author wins by using their book to gain visibility, establish credibility, and generate leads for speaking engagements or consulting services, rather than waiting to become the next Oprah book club pick.Insight 5: Consistency Trumps Free Time Tim wrote The Call to Authorship while running a scaling business and managing a family. His secret wasn't taking a sabbatical; it was dedicating 30 minutes a day to write 500 words before his second cup of coffee. Small, daily habits build momentum that eventually results in a completed 50,000-word manuscript.Insight 6: The Soft Stuff is the Hard Stuff in Business Reflecting on his journey, Tim realized he underestimated the importance of team cohesion. It isn't built at an annual retreat; it's forged in daily interactions, dropping guards, and building trust. Without that personal connection, communication breaks down and business decisions suffer.Resources & Links MentionedTellwellPublishing.comThe Call to Authorship (Tim's book)Free Guide to Self-Publishing Atomic Habits by James ClearAbout Tim LindsayTim Lindsay is the founder and CEO of Tellwell Publishing. Send a text for comments or topics ideas! Do you ever find yourself eating when you're not physically hungry? If so, you're not alone—and you're certainly not lacking willpower. In this episode of Direction Not Perfection, Lindsey sits down with clinical psychologist, mindfulness coach, and host of From Both Sides of the Couch, Dr. Laurie Bruce, to explore what emotional eating really is—and why understanding it is one of the most important steps toward lasting health. For many women, emotional eating isn't simply about food. It's a learned coping strategy that develops over years of managing stress, overwhelm, loneliness, anxiety, perfectionism, and the constant pressure to care for everyone else before themselves.Rather than focusing on guilt or restriction, Dr. Bruce shares how mindfulness, nervous system regulation, self-compassion, and rebuilding self-trust can help us create a healthier relationship with food—and with ourselves. If you've ever wondered why you know what to do but struggle to follow through, this conversation will leave you feeling understood, hopeful, and equipped with practical ways to begin healing from the inside out.

I am already getting exciting feedback. Yolanda is my number 1 user and she reported the biggest win since I launched the app. She told me "Some really good things have happened, and it could be a coincidence, but I just signed a new client that had been stalling, with a contract value of $2,500/mo!" Be Unmessablewith: The Podcast hosted by Josselyne Herman-Saccio
In this episode of Be Unmessablewith, Josselyne Herman-Saccio breaks down the difference between emotional satisfaction and real, measurable satisfaction. She challenges the idea that feelings like satisfaction and fulfillment come from emotions alone and instead encourages listeners to focus on what they are actually accomplishing in the real world.Satisfaction: It's not about feelings, which can be fleeting and unreliable. Satisfaction is about satisfying measurable goals and outcomes.Fulfillment: It's connected to your vision of life, such as peace of mind or freedom. Fulfillment isn't a goal you "complete"—it's an ongoing space to live in, one that you can cultivate at any moment.Josselyne also shares practical ways to focus on true satisfaction and fulfillment, encouraging you to measure your progress in the real world and create spaces for fulfillment like peace of mind or freedom, no matter your emotional state.Download the Free Guide of 5 Daily Practices To Be Unmessablewith Checklist Connect With JosselyneWebsite: https://www.beunmessablewith.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beunmessablewith/Linkedin: http://linkedin.com/in/josselyne-herman-saccio-9b9752aFacebook: http://www.facebook.com/unmessablewithnessEmail: joss@theartofbeingunmessablewith.com
