    1️⃣ Content, this HAS to be your number 1 priority. Clients will accept not so brilliant lighting or not having the best camera in the world BUT your content has to flow in the right order, sequence and has to be easy to digest. DON'T FILM a thing until you have completed a journey map (a line), that takes your client from A to Z marking out each step until they get to Z. 2️⃣ AVL, this is important but NEVER as important as most people think. If you have sold a few of your courses like I suggested you can now afford to upgrade IF needs be. Remember the client wants a RESULT, not fancy videos. A (Audio), keep it simple, if you don't have a mic, go for a simple decent lapel mic! It doesn't have to be fancy if you are just starting out. V (Visual), if you have latest iPhone this is more than good enough. I wouldn't spend any money on a fancy camera yet! Save your monies for other essentials (the client acquisition piece). L (Lighting), natural is best if it easily available if not then keep it simple, a few soft boxes are fine. You may need these as you can't rely on the consistently of natural light. 3️⃣ Additional Resources, these are brilliant to keep engagement up. There is nothing worse than a course that just has videos. Spend the time to craft worksheets, cheatsheets, templates etc. Your clients will love it if you have gone the extra mile to make their lives easier! 4️⃣ Hosting, your course needs to sit somewhere on the internet. Now I am not going to be getting into a big debate of which platform is best. Just use the one you currently have for now. Example if you have a ClickFunnels account, just use that for now and upgrade later to something like Kajabi. Don't use Wordpress unless you know coding, it's just so clunky, you'll thank me later

    “I can't afford it right now”, “I'll think about it”, “I'll have to speak to my partner”. These are all the classic objections you get when it comes to selling over the phone/Zoom. I have been selling one way or another since 2000. I loved talking to people and helping them, over the years I climbed the ranks in the retail space BUT it became less about selling and more about polices and procedures. It was only when I became a business owner & coach in 2016 that I had to sharpen my skills again but not after long I was back in the game. What most people don't realise is that sales is a skill. And just like the gym you have to get the reps in, in order to improve that close rate. Here are my top tips when it comes to handling objections when selling on: ✅ Be prepared: I have listed a few classic objections above but they are more. Since most of them are common, you can learn them and understand how to respond. ✅ Ask great question: this is a science and an art. Science, if you ask a great question, there is a 50% chance you will know the answer in advance. Art, knowing how to navigate and adjust on the fly when needed, the other 50% ✅ Never get personal or confrontational: Your initial instinct might be to be defensive, don't be, the minute you do, you lose control of the conversation. Accept what the prospect is saying then respond with a killer question ✅ No: It's not a dirty word, it's part of the process. Get used to rejection, it's ok! This gives you feedback on where you need to improve. ✅ Talk less: I have done it, and I am sure you have too! Talked too much/talked yourself out of the sale.     Ring Ring Ring… “Oh man, I hate answering the phone”. This used to be me back in 2017. I had an absolute fear of answering the phone or calling prospects or clients. I would ignore it and text back a poor excuse that I missed the call. The weird thing is that I have been in sales (in one shape or another) since 2000. I am warm, friendly and great face to face but on the phone, I would melt. Fast forward to now (and since 2019), I love jumping on the phone or a Zoom. Learning how to feel confident on the phone was a game changer. Especially since taking sales over the phone (and/or Zoom). These are the key tips I took to build that confidence that allows me to close sales worth £1,000s. 1️⃣ Start small - sounds silly but start with utility bills, ring up your provider and ask if there is a better deal than you are on. Imagine you are talking to your best friend. This will help break the ice 2️⃣ Answer the phone - take the next 5 calls on your mobile regardless of who they are from, this will help you feel more confident in having conversations over the phone 3️⃣ Think service - before a prospect take the focus off you, you are only there to help and serve. This will in turn take the pressure off you and put the focus on serving the prospect 4️⃣ Use a sales script - this helps to keep you on track and focussed otherwise you can veer off track and lose control of the conversation. 5️⃣ Compelling offer - create a non brainer offer so irresistible that you feel that everyone (your dream client) HAS to have it therefore you feel it's your moral obligation to sell it 6️⃣ Having a why - Simon Sinek said it best in his book, Start With Why. In March 2020, the world pivoted to online which meant the competition got REAL! My wife and I had to make a decision on how she could stand out from the crowd of Personal Trainers especially since Joe Wicks was doing FREE workouts online. We repositioned the business from Personal Training to Nutrition (she had just qualified) and to helping Busy Professional Women only. This help us not only to stand out but to flourish too. These are the key steps we took: ✅ Be specific, NOT generic. Know who you are serving, call them out in your posts, videos, social media profiles, ads etc! It's way easier to speak to 1 person vs 1,000s ✅ Be clear, what result can you deliver, this will help with marketing your message ✅ Share your why! This will help you stand out for sure as there is a reason why you became a coach, this is SO unique for everyone so share your origin story. ✅ Branding, keep it clean, clear and consistent! This will help people to recognise you ✅ Be yourself, sounds cheesy but it works. If you have a hearty laugh (like me) then show it off, if you are a bit cheesy go with it. Now we are back to some kind of normality (minus the pandemic) and “back to work” it's time that the rubber meets the road. Many of you have probably set financial goals for this year which is brilliant. This inevitably means selling more than you did last year. Now here comes the sticky part, asking for the sale.     The other day I wrote a post on How To Plan Your Week For Client Acquisition Success, today I want to take that a step further. A plan of action is a given when it comes to building business success BUT without this next step, it is POINTLESS! This step is self-discipline. This step is VITAL but SO difficult if you don't have non-negotiables in place. In order to set yourself up for success you need to do the following: 1️⃣ Sticking to the plan - sounds obvious but it's hard to do day in day out and this is where SELF-DISCIPLINE is needed 2️⃣ Set up your war room - aka your environment, do you have water nearby, a comfortable chair, a clear desk, a whiteboard, pens etc! 3️⃣ Getting rid of any distractions - phones mainly, you can access 99% of what you need from your laptop or with a pen and paper, put the phone in another room altogether if needed 4️⃣ Let others know - since most of us are working from home, let other family members know what your plans are and include them so each of you know when it's work time and when it's play time, this includes letting the kids know too 5️⃣ Stick to the time allotted - If you said you are going to read for 30 mins or write for 1 hour or take an hour break then do so, DON'T let the work overrun!     As an online coach, there are many pitfalls that cause an online course to fail, I have been there. In December 2017 I launched an online fitness program that flopped. I spend hours creating it including Xmas eve and Xmas day and pretty much didn't spend any time with my family. I was obsessed with getting it out before New Years ready for the influx of people who overate over Xmas! Hundreds of hours later and thousands of £££ spend, I didn't sell a thing. That feeling of failure was overwhelming! My pride has been dented, my business was now struggling. This meant I had to get 2 part-time jobs, 1 as a cleaner and 1 as a pizza delivery guy. It was during that time where I learnt the fundamentals of online course creation and now this is what I teach at a higher level. Here are the 5 fundamentals when it comes to the course creation part… 1️⃣ Customer research - Use Google, email list, comment sections on social media, answer the public, Ubersuggest to help guide you on what results your dream client is after! It's time to understand your dream client better than they know themselves 2️⃣ Build a compelling irresistible offer - Only offer what people WANT - make sure it's scalable and repeatable but offers SO much value they can't say NO! 3️⃣ SELL it before creating it - Have a launch date BUT only create it once a few (5 or more ideally) have bought it! Otherwise, you'll waste a bunch of time I like did! 4️⃣ Teach it LIVE - This shows great expertise, allows them to ask questions as you go and therefore you can make realtime adjustments! You only have to be 1 day ahead of those you teach BUT be honest about the process 5️⃣ Proof of concept - Now you have several case studies, testimonials and evidence it works! Now it's time to tweak and improved and resell at a higher price
