Hobbies and interests are important in life and can be utilized as tools for stress management, increased socialization, and connection with others. When working with clients, I often emphasize the importance of leisure activities and socialization with others. For many trying new things can be difficult. In those situations, I suggest clients consider activities they participated in when they were younger and continue or engage in similar activities as adults. Often activities that we enjoy in younger years can provide us with satisfaction as years progress and situations in life change. 1. What activity did you enjoy in the past? 2. How can you continue to engage in the activity now? During this episode of Tea and Therapy, Dr. Kimberly and her dance friends (Elaina Conrad, Jillian Godwin, Catania James) as they discuss their journey to dance and how dance has sustained them through various stages of life.
