Welcome to The Art of Success Podcast - join Ebony on a journey to uncover what it really takes to achieve success and tap into our potential. In this podcast series, Ebony interviews successful people from the world of Sport, Business and Politics to distill key insight and tools on how to get ahead in work, life and tap into our potential. Ebony is a former international cricketer and World Cup Winner, who has gone on to work in the media in various roles; predominantly a broadcaster on the BBC's flagship programme 'Test Match Special and is also Director of Women's Cricket at Surrey County Cricket Club.     In today’s episode I sit down with Gearoid Towey, 4 time Olympian,  Irish Rower and former World Rowing Champion to discuss his journey.      Gearoid is now director and founder of ‘Crossing the Line’ supporting elite athletes in transition. In this episode Towey breaks down the key to a success mindset including how to win with a negative mindset. He also recounts his life changing moment when along with Ciaran Lewis he attempted to cross the Atlantic Ocean in 2005 in a 23 ft rowing boat. After 40 days at sea, having endured two tropical storms and a hurricane on the way, their boat was pitch poled by a 10 meter wave, leaving the men adrift 900 miles from land. They were rescued in the middle of a force 9 storm.

    This week on the podcast I sit down with Ellie Simmonds OBE, five-time Paralympic Champion and numerous World record holder. Ellie shot to fame when she won her first Paralympic medal at the age of 13 years and nine months. This was the start of a string of firsts for Ellie as she went on to become the youngest winner of the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year in 2008 and then the youngest recipient of an MBE at the age of 14. Since her meteoric rise into the public eye, Ellie has continued to dominate her sport, winning 13 World titles, 10 European titles and breaking various World records along the way. In addition to these achievements, Ellie competed at the London 2012 Paralympics, winning four medals, including two Golds, and broke a further two World records. Her Gold medals were won in the S6 400m Freestyle and SM6 200m Individual Medley and she won Silver in the S6 100m Freestyle and Bronze in the S6 50m Freestyle.     This week on the podcast I sit down with Mark Colbourne MBE former Welsh Paralympic Cyclist. In 2009 after falling 35 feet whilst paragliding, Mark broke his back in a near death experience. He was hospitalised for nearly 100 days motionless and the accident left Mark with a disability.  Within 3 years this man was standing on the podium with 3 medals around his neck in the London 2012 Paralympic Games. He won 3 medals for Great Britain in: * Silver 1km time trial - track * Silver - road Time Trial - Road * Gold - Individual Pursuit C1 - track In 2013 Mark was awarded and MBE and has gone on to become an international speaker and business man.
