In this episode of Transforming 45, Lisa Boate sits down with leadership development expert Kaneshi Hart for a grounded, honest conversation about what leadership looks like in this season of life — when identity is shifting, energy is changing, and the old ways of pushing through no longer work. This episode is especially for women in midlife who are: stepping into new roles questioning how they've led in the past navigating menopause, burnout, or reinvention craving a more human, values-led way of leading Kaneshi shares why so many new leaders struggle — and how midlife can actually become a powerful reset point for leadership rooted in clarity, confidence, and self-trust. What You'll Learn in this Episode Why 60% of new managers fail — and what midlife women can do differently How self-leadership becomes essential during times of transition Why traditional leadership models often fail women in midlife The role of values clarity when everything feels like it's shifting How to rebuild confidence without forcing or performing Why vulnerability and accountability are leadership strengths How to lead with more humanity, not more hustle Why relationships and community matter more than ever How to give yourself grace while redefining who you are becoming Leadership in midlife isn't about proving yourself. It's about leading from truth, experience, and self-awareness — and allowing that to evolve as you do. This conversation is a reminder that: You're not behind You're not failing You're in a season of redefinition And that's where the most meaningful leadership begins. What if the longer periods of darkness during winter could be our teacher? In this episode, host Elizabeth Mintun reflects on stillness, renewal, and possibility during late December. Drawing from timeless wisdom - the Northern European tradition of the Twelve Nights and the Inuit story of Sedna's descent into the deep - Elizabeth explores how darkness, pause, and reflection are essential parts of growth. These stories illuminate the ways that slowing down, observing inner patterns, and cultivating clarity prepare us for meaningful beginnings. This episode is perfect for anyone seeking calm, grounding, and mindful presence during a season that can feel emotionally heightened, complex, or tender.Key TakeawaysBy honoring the quiet and slowing down, you create space for clarity, renewal, and the unfolding of what's next.Though the spaces of uncertainty during times of change, transition, or decision-making can be quite uncomfortable, it can be very helpful to breathe through the discomfort rather than trying to “hop over it”. Notice if you're experiencing a push for “resolutions” and see how possible it might be to offer yourself ease and open curiosity about how you'd like to unfold in the coming year. Cut Through the Noise: Finding Clarity in Your Marketing | Orly Zeewy | 1180

Ever feel like your marketing message is shouting into a crowded room? Every day, your customers are bombarded by thousands of messages—from family, friends, and brands all vying for their attention. So how do you make yours stand out? I chatted with Orly Zeewy, a speaker, educator, and facilitator of those “aha” light bulb moments, about one of my favorite topics: clarity. Orly helps entrepreneurs turn fuzzy ideas into sharp, memorable messages that connect and convert. As she put it, “What's clear for you is not necessarily what's clear for the person you're speaking to.” And that's the heart of the problem—most of us start by explaining what we do, when we should be showing people why it matters to them. We explored how clarity isn't just a nice-to-have. It's what helps people remember you long after they scroll past. And, Orley reminded me, true clarity starts with understanding who your message is for and what they actually need. Here are a few takeaways from our conversation: Start with your audience. Everyone says they market to “anyone,” but that's a fast track to blending in. Get clear about who really needs what you offer. Fix your elevator pitch. Stop saying what you do and start saying what problem you solve. “I design websites” doesn't stick—but “I turn fuzzy content into clear messages that cut through the noise” sure does. Own your superpower. Women especially tend to undervalue what comes naturally to them. Just because it feels easy doesn't mean it isn't valuable. Avoid being a hammer looking for a nail. When you don't define your audience, you end up marketing to everyone—and connecting with no one. If you've ever felt like your message gets lost in the noise, this episode will help you find your voice, sharpen your story, and finally get your marketing to click.  Because let's face it—when you make the fuzzy clear, everything else just falls into place. About Orly Orly Zeewy is an author, speaker, educator, and a facilitator of lightbulb moments. Her superpower? She makes fuzzy clear. She helps entrepreneurs clarify and communicate their zone of genius, so they can attract more of their ideal clients and go from invisible to memorable in 3 weeks. She has lectured at Wharton and taught in The Close School of Entrepreneurship at Drexel University, and the University of Pennsylvania. Her book: Ready, Launch, Brand: The Lean Marketing Guide for Startups was published in 2021 and was endorsed by Seth Godin. Her new book: Why NOT Me? Creating Organizational Cultures That Actually Work In this episode, Michael and cultural anthropologist Jitske Kramer dive deep into the heart of organizational culture. Michael shares a story from a startup he supported, where a crystal clear sense of purpose created unity, loyalty, and a genuine feeling of belonging. Employees stayed because they felt connected to something bigger than a job description. Jitske expands on this by highlighting how leaders shape culture through the behaviors, values, and norms they model. She stresses that culture is never an accident. It is a series of daily choices and conversations. When leaders fail to engage with their teams or invite them into meaningful decision making, organizations lose clarity and people lose their sense of belonging. Both Michael and Jitske agree that leaders miss countless opportunities to build trust simply because they are not intentionally engaging with their people. Transformative Leadership and the Power of Human Connection Michael brings up a powerful metaphor involving an orchestra conductor to show how communication and knowledge flow can transform the relationship between leaders and their teams. When the conductor shifts from directing to connecting, the entire ensemble transforms. The energy changes. People take ownership. Collaboration becomes natural rather than forced. Jitske builds on this idea by contrasting transactional interactions with transformative ones. Transactional moments keep the lights on, but transformative moments build the future. She emphasizes the need for what she calls campfire conversations. These are the unhurried, human centered discussions where ideas form, trust deepens, and innovation actually has space to emerge. They conclude that the most successful organizations are the ones that prioritize human to human connection over rigid systems and corporate scripts. Finding Clarity in the Messy Middle of Change Jitske introduces her latest book, Tricky Times, which explores liminality. Liminality refers to the messy middle stage of change when the old story no longer works and the new story is not yet formed. She describes this phase as uncomfortable but deeply necessary. She explains that societies worldwide are wrestling with a kind of midlife crisis. People are questioning the expectation of nonstop economic growth and the conflict it creates with environmental and social realities. In these liminal spaces, power dynamics shift. Cultural identities get rewritten. Leaders are challenged to redefine what truly matters. Michael shares how timely these insights feel, especially given the current political climate in the United States and abroad. He highlights how difficult but essential conversations shape whether we move forward with intention or stay stuck in old patterns. Leading with Courage in Tricky Times Jitske describes the leadership challenges she writes about in Tricky Times. She warns against leaders who act like tricksters, constantly pushing boundaries without offering guidance or stability. True leadership requires bold honesty, grounded decision making, and the willingness to enter uncomfortable conversations. She emphasizes that balanced leadership is essential. Leaders must be willing to question assumptions, tell the truth about what is working and what is not, and invite their organizations into deeper reflection. Tricky Times has become a bestseller in the Netherlands, and Jitske is sharing its message with influential political leaders who are navigating uncertainty on a national scale. The book is available as an e-book on Amazon and offers a grounded, human centered framework for leading through cultural transformation. Jitske Kramer is a renowned Dutch corporate anthropologist who translates real-world lessons from communities around the globe into practical tools for modern workplaces.    She travels the world to learn from traditional healers, innovators, random passers-by, and everyday communities, studying how humans bond, lead, and resolve conflict — and brings those insights into the boardroom.   Her latest book, Tricky Times (a #1 Dutch bestseller), explores what it takes to lead in “the messy middle” — those uncertain in-between phases where old systems break down before new ones emerge.    With 25+ years of experience, she has shaped transformation for Nike, Unilever, Calvin Klein, and Philips, authored 9 bestselling books (150,000+ copies sold), and spoken alongside Simon Sinek, Amy Edmondson, Yuval Noah Harari on stages like TEDx and Workhuman Live.   Jitske's sharp, funny, and “aha”-filled style makes anthropology highly accessible for leaders facing change, culture challenges, and transformation.   Topics:  The messy middle: Leading effectively through uncertainty and liminal times The real drivers of company culture: Rituals, symbols, and hidden power structures How to “think like an anthropologist” to sense change and spot unseen dynamics The difference between formal power and cultural power — and why rank-awareness is critical for leaders What tribes can teach today's organizations about handling dilemmas and conflict   More about Jitske:  Founder of HumanDimensions, a pioneering training company that helps organizations strengthen teamwork and company culture.  Featured in the Patterns of Life documentary series, in which she traveled to India as an anthropologist.  Former Fellow at the Oxford Leadership Academy; holds a master's degree in cultural anthropology from Utrecht University.  Other books by Jitske: Building Tribes, Wow! What a Difference, Work Has Left the Building, Jam Cultures, andThe Corporate Tribe (which won the prestigious 2016 Management book of the Year Award). Take a look at Jitske's keynotes, other public speeches, TV appearances, and writings.    To get a sense of Jitske, here's an appearance she made on The Culture Lab podcast, talking about the making of a corporate tribe and how to effectively deal with diversity in a team.

Introduction: In today's fast-paced world, many of us struggle with feelings of confusion and uncertainty. In the latest episode of the Mask Off podcast, host Keiara Gladney dives deep into the importance of clarity in our lives. With insightful discussions and practical advice, she guides us on how to achieve a clearer understanding of our paths and purpose. Main Content:**Understanding Clarity** Clarity is more than just a buzzword; it's the foundation for meaningful relationships and personal growth. Keiara emphasizes that clarity is about mutual understanding and the ability to ask questions. She shares a poignant example from her own life involving a medical decision for her father. During a call with his doctor, she did not hesitate to ask clarifying questions to ensure her family had all the necessary information. This kind of proactive communication is vital, both in professional settings and in our relationships with God and others.**The Struggles of Confusion** Many individuals find themselves feeling lost in various aspects of life due to a lack of clarity. Keiara points out that this confusion often stems from a fear of asking questions. In her experience, particularly in some religious environments, asking questions can be discouraged, leaving many feeling isolated and unsure. This lack of communication can stifle personal and spiritual growth, creating a cycle of confusion.**Gaining Clarity Amid Overwhelm** When faced with feelings of burnout or emotional exhaustion, Keiara advises listeners to turn to God first. Acknowledging one's feelings is the first step toward clarity. She suggests evaluating the sources of overwhelm and identifying what can realistically be changed. For example, if late-night conversations drain your energy, consider setting boundaries around your availability. The key is to take actionable steps toward a healthier emotional state.**Faith and Prayer as Tools for Clarity** Keiara stresses the role of prayer in achieving clarity. It's not just about asking for guidance; it's about building a relationship with God where you can receive direction and encouragement. Through consistent prayer, we can shift from operating on emotion to being grounded in faith and purpose.**Actionable Steps for Gaining Clarity** To summarize, Keiara presents several questions to reflect on your current state:1. What does clarity mean to you in this season of life?2. What areas of your life feel confusing, and why?3. How can you begin to seek clarity in those areas?4. What realistic changes can you implement today to reduce overwhelm?5. Who can you reach out to for support and guidance?By engaging with these questions, you can begin to unravel the confusion and find a clearer path forward. Conclusion: Clarity is essential for navigating life with purpose and intent. By asking the right questions, seeking divine guidance, and being honest with ourselves, we can break free from confusion and operate in alignment with our true purpose. Remember, clarity isn't just about knowing where you're going; it's about understanding the journey and the lessons embedded within it.Key Takeaways:- Clarity is fundamental for personal growth and meaningful relationships.- Fear of asking questions can lead to confusion in various life areas.- Prayer and self-awareness are crucial in finding clarity amid overwhelm.- Regular reflection and proactive communication can help navigate life's complexities.Follow & Connect:FB: Keiara B. It's easy to feel overwhelmed by the pace of change in talent acquisition. AI developments, vendor mergers and acquisitions, a confusing technology landscape, and shifting candidate behaviours are just some of the current trends making everything feel chaotic. But if we take a step back and look carefully, patterns start to emerge. There are clues everywhere to what the future will look like. So how do we make sense of it all? My guest this week is Adam Godson, General Manager of Paradox at Workday. In our conversation, Adam cuts through the noise, explains how the agentic future is taking shape, discusses what Workday's acquisition of Paradox means for the market, reviews the predictions he made on the show this time last year about 2025, and shares where he thinks things are heading in 2026 In the interview, we discuss: Whether Adam's predictions from this time last year were accurate Workday's acquisition of Paradox The power of end-to-end employee lifecycle data The potential power of agentic AI Frontline hiring and how it has evolved AI development Will candidates have their own career agents? In this powerful episode of The Journey to Becoming Podcast, I sit down with Stefanie Gass — Christian business and podcast coach, boy mom, seven-figure CEO, and host of the top 20 globally ranked show, Online Business for Christian Women. Sometimes being lost isn't failure—it's freedom. The best views, lessons, and growth often come when you step off the path everyone else is on. Show Notes: In this introspective Shark Theory episode, Baylor Barbee takes a morning walk with his dog Bear that turns into a life lesson about uncertainty, perspective, and purpose. What started as a detour through unfamiliar terrain became a powerful reminder that being "off track" doesn't always mean you're behind—it might mean you're exactly where you're supposed to be. Through encounters with wildlife and an unexpected birdwatcher, Baylor explores the difference between fear and perspective, showing how a change in mindset can turn panic into peace. What You'll Learn in This Episode: Why feeling "lost" often signals growth, not failure How adrenaline and fear can distort perception The beauty of getting off the path and exploring new territory Why comparing your journey to others only slows your progress How to stay calm and confident when you can't see what's ahead Featured Quote: "Just because we're on the same path doesn't mean we have the same destination. Sometimes getting lost is how you find what's truly meant for you."

In this episode of The Scratch Golfer's Mindset Podcast, I sit down with my mentor, world-renowned mindset and performance coach, Elliot Roe. Together, we engage in a power discussion to unpack what truly separates high performers from the rest—how to release subconscious resistance, redefine balance, and access peak states on demand. Elliot reveals why detachment from results is a prerequisite for sustained success, how subconscious childhood patterns quietly sabotage progress, and the science behind hypnosis as a tool for lasting transformation. He also dives into the relationship between identity, fear, and indecision—and how understanding these elements can elevate your performance on the course, in business, and in life. In this episode, you'll learn: How to balance ambition and detachment to perform your best under pressure. Why "invisible resistance" keeps you stuck—and how to finally remove it. The neuroscience of hypnosis and how it reprograms limiting beliefs. How identity and subconscious stories shape performance and self-worth. A simple exercise to reveal the habits separating you from elite performers. Why fear of success and fear of failure are two sides of the same coin. How presence—not anger or intensity—fuels true peak performance. Whether you're chasing your next big win, breaking 80, or scaling your company, this conversation offers tactical frameworks and mindset shifts to help you remove the invisible brakes and unlock your true potential. Build a non-variance win: Add a weekly pursuit (gym, BJJ, etc.) with incremental progress so your self-worth isn't hostage to poker/golf/markets. Calendar = truth: Audit your week. If sleep, family, training, and mindset work aren't scheduled, your goals are fantasy. Clear the landmines first: Use hypnosis/subconscious work to neutralize old emotional triggers so you're not "driving with the brakes on." Identity follows behavior: List what the best in your field do, mark what you're avoiding, and face those reps—belief grows after action. Indecision is ego-protection: Not deciding preserves the story "I'd win if I tried." Decide, act, and let data reshape the story. Presence beats anger: Elite performance (golf, trading, UFC, business) comes from calm focus and recovery skills—not rage or intensity. Key Quotes: "If you know what to do and can't bring yourself to do it, you don't need a strategy coach—you need a mindset coach." "Balance isn't a weakness. It's a performance enhancer." "You can't separate who you are off the course from who shows up on the course." "Indecision is ego protection—it lets you believe you'd succeed if you tried." "Fear of failure and fear of success both whisper the same lie: I'm not enough." "Our work as coaches is to file down the edges of the cube until it rolls smoothly—until you're in flow." "You are not your issues. They're learned patterns—and they can be unlearned." Picasso's Guernica: B2B Marketing Lessons on Finding Clarity in Chaos with Chief Marketing Officer at Conviva, Jerome Stewart

A masterpiece doesn't have to be simple. Sometimes the most powerful stories emerge from complexity, cohesion, and staying power. That's the lesson of Picasso's Guernica, a chaotic painting that, when viewed as a whole, tells a timeless story. In this episode, we explore its marketing lessons with the help of our special guest Jerome Stewart, Chief Marketing Officer at Conviva.Together, we uncover what B2B marketers can learn from building campaigns with a unifying story, turning complexity into an advantage, and creating content designed to resonate long after launch.About our guest, Jerome StewartJerome Stewart is the Chief Marketing Officer at Conviva. He is a dynamic and people-driven marketing executive with a proven track record of building high-performing teams, elevating brand visibility, and driving revenue growth in early-stage and industry-leading technology companies. Jerome is an experienced global leader with six years of international business experience outside the USA, as well as an accomplished Amazon bestselling author. What B2B Companies Can Learn From Guernica:Campaigns need a unifying story. Guernica shows how fragmented, chaotic elements can form one powerful story. Jerome says, “Each one of those [individual pictures] stands out, but when you take a step back and you look at it in its entirety. Indeed, there is a cohesive story.” Marketing works the same way; every asset matters, but true impact comes when the pieces connect into a bigger, memorable narrative.Complexity can be an advantage. At first glance, Guernica looks disorganized and overwhelming. However, his chaotic canvas still communicates a clear message. Jerome points out, “Maybe some people look at a more modern artistic style… and you can say, ‘Hey, this just looks really messy.' But as I say, dig in a little bit deeper and you see there's a very rich story.” In marketing, don't be afraid of layered stories. Campaigns that invite discovery can spark deeper connection and longer attention.Strive for timeless content. Picasso's painting still sparks reflection nearly a century later. Jerome connects this to marketing: “We're trying to tell stories and we're trying to come up with stories that stand out and that maybe stand the test of time. That will resonate into the future.” Campaigns should be built with staying power, not just to make noise at launch but to linger and influence long after.Quote“A bar  to hold ourselves against is did we tell a story? Was it clear? And something else that Picasso did brilliantly well, he took something as complex as war, and he didn't simplify it in any way. He did something cohesive. [We have to]  challenge ourselves to do the best that we possibly can to tell those stories.”Time Stamps[00:55] Meet Jerome Stewart, Chief Marketing Officer at Conviva[01:34] Why Guernica?[06:57] Visiting Guernica and Its Impact[14:58] Role as CMO at Conviva[16:45] Understanding Guernica[28:08] B2B Marketing Takeaways from Guernica[35:31] Marketing Insights and Strategies[42:27] Advice for CMOs[44:53] Final Thoughts and TakeawaysLinksConnect with Jerome on LinkedInLearn more about ConvivaAbout Remarkable!Remarkable! is created by the team at Caspian Studios, the premier B2B Podcast-as-a-Service company.
