This weekend I spoke for the first time in front of 100s of people and while I was nervous I shared very REAL experiences and what I've learned this year. Hopefully other people can learn from my experience. In this speech we laugh, we smile, we cry, and we hug it out.
In part 2 of my daughter Lyla's story, she shares HER perspective. She opens up about what brought her into a depression, what she was feeling during her self harm and suicidal thoughts, and what helped her to hopefully help other teenagers and parents.
This year has been the hardest year for my 14 year old daughter. She dealt with severe depression and we had to navigate that as a family. We are at a part in our journey where we are ready to share and she is ready to own her story to hopefully help other kids/parents that are going through something similar.
