Passion for Jesus Passion for Christ should exceed everything else in life. A New Year helps us to stay on track and stay the course. Every day we should seek the Lord PHIL 3:7-12 ESV Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith— that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.

THE LORD LOOKS ON THE HEART! 1 SAMUEL 16:7 English Standard Version 7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
DINING WITH THE HATED— Luke 5:27-32 HATED GROUP OF PEOPLE In Jesus’ time, tax collectors were pretty much hated by the people. These were Jews who were taking advantage by collecting Rome’s taxes plus a surcharge to line their own pockets THEY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE DISADVANTAGED TAX COLLECTOR. The Gk. word telōnēs (av ‘publican’) means a collector of tax or custom on behalf of the Romans The system was very open to abuse, and the publicani seem to have been prone to extortion and malpractice from the very beginning Lk. 19:2 seems to imply that Zacchaeus was the contractor for the whole of the taxes of Jericho and had collectors under him WHEN SINNERS REPENT UP TO HALF MY KINGDOM I WILL GIVE I WILL REPAID 4 TIMES OVER - WOW!
Acts 10:5-6 “And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter: He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do. On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour: And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there. While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee. Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.

How is it that you say, ‘You will become free’?” Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. DON’T BE SHAKEN 2 THESSALONIANS 2 When this corona first hit many were shaken including Christians. And yet the word of the Lord tell us don’t be shaken. So many had their faith shaken, where they stood with God, I heard more people declare, we got to do more, pray more, give more, be more of a light and on and on, MY QUESTION?, SO DOES THAT MEAN JESUS GOT SHAKEN, YOU QUESTIONED YOUR FAITH, DON’T BE SHAKEN NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, WHAT COME DOWN, JESUS IS LORD! 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 ESV “Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers, not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:2 CSB “not to be easily upset or troubled, either by a prophecy or by a message or by a letter supposedly from us, alleging that the day of the Lord has come.” We Trust in our God - We Will Not Be Shaken We Trust That Our God is for Us - We Will Not Be Shaken - Romans 8 We Trust His Unfailing Love - We Will Not Be Shaken We Trust Him When the Battles Rage - We Will Not Be Shaken Our God Is Stronger - Jesus can do all things Let’s call on his name - We will not be shaken!
Faith Center Easter Service with Pastor Rudy. (I renamed this title to "He's Alive Bruh" after getting a big kick out of the video which my grandkids Noah and Nevaeh did on reading the scriptures on the kids part) 1. THE FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST WITNESSED fRIST HAND HIS RESURRECTION PREACHED JESUS RAISED FROM THE DEAD! Acts 2:32-33, 36 KJV “This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Acts 3:26 KJV “Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.” Acts 4:10-13 KJV “Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” Acts 13:29-34 KJV “And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre. But God raised him from the dead: And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people. And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.” 2. JESUS OBEDIENCE TO DEATH GAVE HIMN THE RULE OVER DEATH PHILIPPIANS 2:5-11 - “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” 3. KNOW JESUS IN THE POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION 3 PHILIPPIANS 3:8-12 - “Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.”
John 3:16-17 New International Version (NIV) - 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
THE PROPHETIC PROMISE - THE KING OF PEACE COMES RIDING A DONKEY Zechariah 9:9-12 (quoted in Matthew 21:5; John 12:15) Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. VERSE 9 - KING OF PEACE - Zechariah is delivering the prophecy of the King coming to Jerusalem, with the background of Jesus riding on an ass entering into Jerusalem and people spreading their clothes before him, waving palm branches. "Ass" (KJV; NRSV: "donkey") and "colt": point to one animal in the 'style of Hebrew parallelism' (cf. Genesis 49:11; John 12:14–15), indicating 'peaceful intensions', in contrast to "horse" (or "war-horse") in verse 10.[8] New Testament authors see this verse as a prophecy to Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday as quoted in Matthew 21:5; John 12:15).[22] YOUR KING IS: Coming to you ON A DONKEY - indicating 'peaceful intensions', in contrast to "horse" (or "war-horse") in verse 10 Righteous and having Salvation is he Humble King YOUR KING WILL: Cut off the chariot from Ephraim The war horse from Jerusalem The battle bow shall be cut off He shall speak peace to the nations Rule shall be from sea to sea YOUR KING: Because of the blood of my covenant I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope Declares that He will restore to you double
Breaking Fear - Jesus dismantled fear!HEBREWS 2:14,15 - “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” I John 3:7-8 NKJV““...He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” Matthew 16:15-19He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 2 Timothy 1:7For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

1 Thessalonians 5 The Message (MSG) 9-11 God didn’t set us up for an angry rejection but for salvation by our Master, Jesus Christ. He died for us, a death that triggered life. Whether we’re awake with the living or asleep with the dead, we’re alive with him! So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it. The Way He Wants You to Live 12-13 And now, friends, we ask you to honor those leaders who work so hard for you, who have been given the responsibility of urging and guiding you along in your obedience. Overwhelm them with appreciation and love! 13-15 Get along among yourselves, each of you doing your part. Our counsel is that you warn the freeloaders to get a move on. Gently encourage the stragglers, and reach out for the exhausted, pulling them to their feet. Be patient with each person, attentive to individual needs. And be careful that when you get on each other’s nerves you don’t snap at each other. Look for the best in each other, and always do your best to bring it out. 16-18 Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live. 19-22 Don’t suppress the Spirit, and don’t stifle those who have a word from the Master. On the other hand, don’t be gullible. Check out everything, and keep only what’s good. Throw out anything tainted with evil. 23-24 May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he’ll do it! 25-27 Friends, keep up your prayers for us. Greet all the followers of Jesus there with a holy embrace. And make sure this letter gets read to all the brothers and sisters. Don’t leave anyone out. 28 The amazing grace of Jesus Christ be with you!

BEHOLD YOUR KING! John 12:12-16 GNT “The next day the large crowd that had come to the Passover Festival heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, shouting, “Praise God! God bless him who comes in the name of the Lord! God bless the King of Israel!” Jesus found a donkey and rode on it, just as the scripture says, “Do not be afraid, city of Zion! Here comes your king, riding on a young donkey.” His disciples did not understand this at the time; but when Jesus had been raised to glory, they remembered that the scripture said this about him and that they had done this for him.” Zechariah 9:9-12 CSB “Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout in triumph, Daughter Jerusalem! Look, your King is coming to you; he is righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim and the horse from Jerusalem. The bow of war will be removed, and he will proclaim peace to the nations. His dominion will extend from sea to sea, from the Euphrates River to the ends of the earth. As for you, because of the blood of your covenant, I will release your prisoners from the waterless cistern. Return to a stronghold, you prisoners who have hope; today I declare that I will restore double to you.” Matthew 27:37 KJV “And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.” What the Prophet declared about Our King: Your king is coming to you He is righteous and victorious He is humble and riding a donkey The bow of war will be removed He will proclaim peace to the nations His dominion extends from sea to sea He releases the prisoners of hope and restores double to you!

Cain the first murderer. Because of jeaouly envy he rose against his brother and killed him! 1 John 3:10-12 CEB “This is how God’s children and the devil’s children are apparent: everyone who doesn’t practice righteousness is not from God, including the person who doesn’t love a brother or sister. This is the message that you heard from the beginning: love each other. Don’t behave like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he kill him? He killed him because his own works were evil, but the works of his brother were righteous.” Genesis 4:8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

INTRO: WATCHING SPORTS - I don’t know how many times I’ve been watching sports with the love of my life Annette; whether it’s was baseball or football and the game was supposed to be exciting with the anticipation of who’s going to win and I don’t know how many times I’ve heard Annette say "they don’t want it, they’re not hungry, what are they doing get in the game!" why because she felt they were putting their Heart & Soul into it, they were play their best! What will set the greats apart from the rest? The champions will pul there all and leave it on the field, weather it’s in the boxing ring or on the field. Today we also have a mandate to give it all to God, to Live and Serve Him, His Purpose, His Mission and to do it with all our heart, strength and mind. Today what sets us apart as more than conquerors in Christ is that we put our heart and soul into it, that what sets us apart from the rest! Scriptures on sports to win: 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 NLT - “Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.” 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 MSG “You’ve all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs; one wins. Run to win. All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You’re after one that’s gold eternally. 26,27 - I don’t know about you, but I’m running hard for the finish line. I’m giving it everything I’ve got. No sloppy living for me! I’m staying alert and in top condition. I’m not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself.” Scripture on Discipline for the sports: 1 Timothy 4:7-10 CSB. “But have nothing to do with pointless and silly myths. Rather, train yourself in godliness. For the training of the body has limited benefit, but godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance. For this reason we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.”

Now the Philistines had come and raided in the Valley of Rephaim, so David inquired of God, “Should I attack the Philistines? Will you hand them over to me?” The Lord replied, “Attack, and I will hand them over to you.” So the Israelites went up to Baal-perazim, and David defeated the Philistines there. Then David said, “Like a bursting flood, God has used me to burst out against my enemies.” Therefore, they named that place The Lord Bursts Out.” 1 Chronicles 14:8-11 CSB

PAUL’S PRIZE - TRANSFORMING FORGETTING POWER! 1 Timothy 1:12-17 CSB “I give thanks to Christ Jesus our Lord who has strengthened me, because he considered me faithful, appointing me to the ministry — even though I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an arrogant man. But I received mercy because I acted out of ignorance in unbelief, and the grace of our Lord overflowed, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” — and I am the worst of them. But I received mercy for this reason, so that in me, the worst of them, Christ Jesus might demonstrate his extraordinary patience as an example to those who would believe in him for eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.” KEY WORDS THAT SUPERIMPOSED HIS PASS Strength, Faithfulness, Mercy, Grace, Faith & Love in Christ Jesus - Extraordinary Patience of the Lord! FRESH START - MOVING PASS OUR PAST 01/06/18 part 2 We Must Be Able to Move Pass our Pass! Scripture Reading: Genesis 41:51-52 KJV. “And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house. And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.” FORGETTING WHAT IS BEHIND US KEY PHRASES: 1. Remember ye not the former things 2. Former have pasted don't be stuck in the past 3. The Fresh & New will come as we move forward and not hold on to the past “ Forgetting means you are able to move past the past and move forward for what God has planned for your life, nothing greater than living for God and living the plan he has for your life and to not be entangled or trapped by the past! ” * Manasseh - Jospeh The Lord has caused me to forget A Classic Case In Moving Past the Past Genesis 41:51-52 KJV. “And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house. And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.” THE PAST Jealousy and Betrayal Joseph was Sold as a Slave Joseph was wrongly accused of sexual misconduct and did prison time behind it. Joseph was forgotten in prison after doing good (some guys come out with a great attitude and some don't) Genesis 50:15-19 KJV. “And when Joseph's brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him. And they sent a messenger unto Joseph, saying, Thy father did command before he died, saying, So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him. And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants. And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?” Genesis 50:18-21 KJV “And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants. And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.” JOSEPH COULD HAVE: He could have gotten side tracked by lust and sin with temptation He could have allowed himself to be poisoned by bitterness resentment and hate He could have gotten caught up while in prison because of what was done to him JOSEPH'S POWERFUL ATTITUDE: HE SERVED WITH A GREAT SPIRIT IN SPITE OF ILL TREATMENT HE POSSESSED A GREAT SPIRIT OF FORGIVENESS AND DIDN’T ALLOW HATERS AND JEALOUSY TO GET TO HIM HE WALKED IN GODS WILL FOR HIS LIFE IN SPITE OF - what you meant for evil God meant for good. WHAT WE LEARN IS GOD is able to keep you and God mends, heals and restores from hurt, pain and betrayal and that you can move pass your pass the past by the grace of God! GIVE IT TO GOD, let it go and don’t allow yourself to continue in victim mode. We will get past our past in Jesus name.
A NEW BEGINNING, A NEW YEAR! A New Year marks a time when people everywhere celebrate the possibility of building a better tomorrow. It symbolizes the human desire to demarcate (set the boundaries, distinguish, separate) the past from the future, the old from the new. There is a deep human desire to be able to start again, not to be imprisoned by the past. We need to feel hope for new possibilities and see that our future is not governed entirely by our history. SCRIPTURE READING: Isaiah 43:18-19 King James Version (KJV) 18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 42:9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, And new things do I declare: Before they spring forth I tell you of them. Ezekiel 11:19 KJV “And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:” Ezekiel 36:26 KJV “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.” Lamentations 3:22-23 KJV “It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Thoughts for A Fresh Start for A New Year: 1. God will do a New Thing in your Life, He's a God of Newness 2. Don't allow the former, the past to hold you down in life and imprison you to the past 3. Speak what God puts in your heart, speaking and agreeing with God has power to bring you into the newness of God 4. The Mercies of the Lord are New Every Morning 5. Daily Discipline to SEEK HIM DAILY, Everyday Look to Him
