Join a stirring sermon that urges believers to run like athletes for Christ—forget the past, pursue God's high calling, and rely on the power of the Holy Spirit. Through personal stories and Scripture (Philippians 3, David, Moses, and Paul), you'll be encouraged to memorize God's Word, serve boldly, and share the gospel with zeal. ---- The High Calling of God Text: Philippians 3:1-14 Thesis: As the Apostle Paul saw it, “The Christian is the Athlete of Christ!” (How do you see yourself?) “But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.” (vs. 13a) J It appears at first that Paul can't count! The Greek word for “forgetting” literally means “to neglect or avoid” The fact is there are things in your past that can rob you of Joy and prohibit Spiritual Growth. Past Sins Putting confidence in the flesh! (see vs. 2-6) The Apostle Paul speaks strongly (harshly) about those who try to please God by doing His well in the flesh. “Watch out for those dogs.” (vs2) The Apostle Paul esteems Jesus highly, “Who put no confidence in the flesh” (vs3c) In Phil 4:13, Paul makes it clear, “I can do all things…” “Straining towards what is ahead.” “Straining”-means to extend or stretch forward. Paul envisions us as being “Spiritual Athletes of Christ!” ILL. God is calling us to be intentional and have intensity in our relationship with God. 1st- Run to God! “Come near to God and he will come near to you.” (James 4:8) MEMORIZE THE WORD 2nd Run to God through Jesus Christ! Jesus made it clear, to his disciple, that he was the only way to God. (John 14:6) 3rd Run to God, through Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit! “In the last days they will have a form of Godliness but denying his power. Have nothing to do with them.” (2 Timothy 3:5) ---- Find other Podcasts, Sermon Notes and the Bulletin here. https://www.mvcnaz.org/live Stay in touch with our Church Center App at https://www.mvcnaz.org/churchcenter Contact us through our CONNECT form at https://www.mvcnaz.org/connect With Pastor Chuck Ryan.

Pushing forward to God's best in Jesus
A sermon taught by Sasha Bragari on the importance of your calling.
Everyone has momentous moments in their lives. Graduation for some, marriage or children for others. Some occasions are momentous, not for the good they remind us of but for the hardship: divorce, death, loss. It is rare, though, for such an individually important moment to be shared through one person by the many. Today, we have just such an event. The Lord will demonstrate his grace and kindness, and put into place his eternal plan for our redemption here, in the calling of this one man, Abram. His calling is not dissimilar to ours, for it points towards it.

When Jesus calls the first disciples, he shows us, from the beginning, how he wants to work in our lives, too. In this sermon, we look at how God's calling comes to us through a proclamation, an invitation, and ultimately a provision for our deepest needs. Scripture: Luke 5:1-11
Every believer who answer the call of God is gifted with the HOLY SPIRIT to be the Minister of Jesus Christ to expand the Kingdom of God of Earth

The apostle Paul cared not for titles, certifications and the accolades of men, her had a much higher goal in mind. Paul was pressing toward the mark of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus, and calls us to do the same. Preached live this morning at Bethany Baptist Church in Saint Augustine, Florida.
In today's episode, we continue the series The Calling of God, Moses got God angry because he focused on what he couldn't do, instead of what God can do.
Moses first asks, Who am I? Then Who are you? Today, he asks what f they don't believe me? A legitimate question. We must realize the important thing is our obedience to God and His calling on your life.
First, Moses asked “Who am I?” Now, Moses asks, “Who are you? If we are going to proclaim Jesus to a lost and hurting world, we must make sure we know Him. Do you know Him today? That's what we are talking about in todays episode.
In todays episode, we look at the first question Moses asks God in Exodus 3:10-12. We may feel inadequate to do what God has called us to do, but we can know and trust that God will be with us.
Starting a new series titled The Calling of God. Today, we look at Exodus 3:1-9 where God begins speaking to Moses through the burning bush.

Traditional Worship | Bishop Bob Hayes |Giving is an expression of our faith and a way to reflect God's boundless STEWARDSHIP. In the month of January, we will embrace the theme of making room — creating space in our lives for God's work to flourish. By giving, we open doors for new ministries to grow, the gospel to reach more people, and lives to be transformed. It's not just about finances; it's about making room for hope, grace and love to take root in the world around us. Together, we have the opportunity to be part of something greater, making room for God to move powerfully in and through us.
Harvest Worship | Mark Sorensen |As we start this new year, we want to make room for God in our lives, our church and our community. For the next few weeks, we will talk about stewardship and how, through giving, we come together as a community, sharing in the hope, grace and joy that God provides. When we give, we participate in His work, spreading love and STEWARDSHIP to the world. Together, we are “Making Room” for something extraordinary.
Loft Worship | Daniel Lumpee |Happy New Year! This is the time of year many of us (re)evaluate our habits, our goals and our spiritual lives. This year, we want to encourage and inspire you to make room for what really matters. That means making room for the presence, vision, calling and kingdom of God. Throughout the month of January, we'll explore ways that God is calling us not only to make room to grow spiritually, but also how we can participate in His gracious activity through our giving. We'll see how giving not only supports the work of the church, but also strengthens our connection to a greater purpose. We're glad you're here!

Historically, seven types of individuals were anointed in the Old Testament. All of them foreshadowed the Messiah to come who would fulfill all these anointed roles in the highest degree possible. But here is the mystery of mysteries. Those seven roles have now been transferred to every son and daughter of God in the New Covenant. We all have a calling of God on our life but it is up to us to step into that calling and say yes to Him.
Keep that connection open. Remember, God's time is your time, without limitation. No boundaries and a forever oportunity to communicate with him. Like today. Have you had the chance to give him a call?

Summary: The Holy Spirit is leading us through a process of growth. God's purpose for us is to obtain His nature – taking up His abode in us. Truth, knowledge, and love is the pathway to His eternal purpose in us. Show Notes: As we grow in God do we get stuck in a ministry that we have identified ourselves as. Could an Apostle, Prophet, evangelist, Pastor and Teacher or any other ministry be just an expression of Christ in us as we grow into the fullness of Christ? If we hold on to the past, if we try to minister from that place , we'll never see the completion of what God brought us forth for. We lose our individual identity as it's swallowed up in His great family. The partial will be done away with. That's what we are moving into. Christ in me is the hope of glory. It's the manifold wisdom of God being manifested through His family that is accomplishing His eternal purpose. Quotes: As we grow in God, we grow past things that we thought were the cat's meow. We put them away. They have to be let go of. It's a different day. Christ in me is the hope of glory, so I don't have to rely on all these other things. There's always another level, and it's a constant process of bringing us up. into that realm of spirit where we can function the way God wants us to function, not the way we think we're going to function. God can use us in any order He needs. If you're in a situation where you need to be an evangelist, God can use you there. If you need to be a preacher, He can use you there. But it doesn't mean that's what you are. We are a family. We know that. And we share with each other and we reveal ourselves to each other because we know we're family, because we have this call. It's our response. It's our acknowledgment. It's our humility. It's our bowing down. It's our awe and our fear and our love. All those responses. They're doing something in proving...
In this episode, explore the profound truth that every believer is purposefully crafted and called by God, endowed with unique gifts, and bestowed with the grace necessary to fulfill their divine purpose. Throughout scripture, God issues a “call” to men and women alike. Paul tells us that he was called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel. The prophet Jeremiah tells us that God called him from his mother's womb. Every Christian is entrusted with a special calling, as Ephesians 2:10 reminds us, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” So is widowhood a calling? In this episode, Lori shares her testimony of God's calling on her life, especially her personal call to remain a widow.
