Hey friends, hey, welcome to another episode of HER 360. I'm So glad you're here because today we're going to be talking about driving social media engagement by building community. Community is important, especially when we're trying to accomplish our business goals. The whole goal of a community is to move people from being transactional in their relationships, to become emotionally invested in your business or your organization. There's a strategy to accomplishing that through your community, and there are quite a few things that you want to consider as you're determining how you're going to build out your community, which is what we will discuss today. Now when I say community, especially in these first few episodes, I want you not to think about where you'll deliver the community, but instead, we're going to go from a big picture. We always start with if the world was perfect and we could have it however we wanted it, we're going to start there and work our way backwards. Where we'll deliver the community is somewhere far down the road, but today I want to have a conversation about why Social Media Community is important and I want to help you understand what a community is. Once we've had that conversation I want to empower you at the end of this episode to go and start to strategize on your ideas of what type of community you want to establish for your business and in your organization. I'm also going to give you a little bit of homework, and then once you're done with that homework, when the next episode comes out, we'll go a little deeper into this conversation. Now, let's jump into today's episode. CLICK HERE TO LEAVE QUESTIONS FOR TODAY'S EPISODE IN THE COMMENTS

Hey friends! Today, I sat down with a good friend of mine, Jasmine Winters, to talk about influencer marketing. We chat about her experience becoming an influencer, the possible challenges you might face, and the mindset needed for you to grow your platform as an influencer utilizing influencer marketing. . There are many people under the impression that being an influencer and handling influencer marketing is easy but that's not always the case, so we’re going to break down some things to keep in mind: How important networking is! If you want to get into any type of business, you need to remember how important networking can be. Jasmine is going to tell us some of the ways she has created and maintained these relationships over the years, plus what some of them have led to. What it means to be your own boss, there are a lot of responsibilities that come with the title. From being disciplined, staying consistent, and standing up for yourself, just to name a few. Sometimes you gotta know when to take a breath and we’ll share some of our tips to help it from feeling overwhelming. Most importantly we will finish off by talking about knowing your worth and your purpose. In this industry, you need to be true to yourself and your brand at the end of the day. Brands will try to do you over because treating their needs before yours can be their priority, so if you are not grounded in something it is easy to get disconnected. Stepping out of your comfort zone and staying true to yourself at the end of the day is what Jasmin is all about so I love it when I have opportunities like this to just chat with my friend and give y'all some behind the scenes scoop that you should know when pursuing influencer marketing. If you want to check out more from Jasmine Winters below are some of her links: Instagram Youtube Also, make sure to be following me on Instagram to be the first to know when Part.2 with Jasmine Winters is live! Thanks for tuning in and I'll see you in the next episode!

Reveling the secret of driving revenue for your business, I am going to give you some tips and tricks that will make you stand out whether it's your personal or professional side while also helping establish and grow your brand. It's back to school time, yayyy!!!!! I know a lot of you are not nearly as excited about this time as I am and I've gotten a lot of questions on how we've prepared for this season, so I recorded a podcast episode about it to tell you what we've done, especially since we're still knee-deep in this COVID-19 situation. For us, this was something that didn't require a lot because I started preparing early, but I know a lot of moms were holding out to see how things would play out and I know that it's been touch and go for weeks no, so I thought I'd share our process to provide a little tactical advice for you if you need it. Now be warned, I do fuss a little at the end of the episode, not at you, just in general, just because I'm so passionate about making sure our kids feel some stability. If you've got questions after you listen, feel free to shoot me a message over in my IG stories and I'll answer them maybe in an IG live or story soon. Thank you again for always supporting, I know this year is kinda stressful, but you've got this mama, don't worry you'll do just fine! As always, if you loved what you heard share with a friend friend, sharing is caring!!!! Show Take-Aways Prepare the kids Prepare a space for the kids to learn Flex your schedule Inform who needs to know
In today's episode, I have the wonderful opportunity to interview and an amazing woman by the name of Alana Higginbotham as she shares her homeschooling journey with us. I am proud to call Alana a friend and she is a wonderful example of what a homeschooling mother with all the confidence exudes. In today's show, Alana shares her story of how she came to the decision to homeschool her boys and why enough was enough. Alana takes her own personal experiences and delivers a message that anyone can use to help their growth. As a Mental Strategist, she helps you turn your anxiety, laziness, and negative focus into opportunity. She shares a few of her own life’s challenges and the strategies she used to overcome them, and today is no different. Alana shares her real-life experience to give us insight as mothers on how we can help create a system for our children that helps them thrive. Tune in to today's episode and get a dose of confidence, especially with the school year approaching and get the confidence to do whatever you choose for the best interest of your family this upcoming school year. Remember, especially during this time, there really is no right or wrong answer, the right answer is the one that serves the needs of your family. Show Take-Aways Alana's story is inspiring because as mother's we want the best for our kids and sometimes we are so accustomed to what we've always known that we miss the opportunity to take control of our kids' learning experience and make it what works best for them. Alana encourages me often to know that I am in charge of this process and all things won't always be perfect but we are the drivers of this ship. This is especially important because so many of us are considering alternative ways to educate our children and we lack the confidence to understand if we do something outside of what we are used to that it's just different not wrong. She gives us a good laugh with her candid experience as being a mother and going through this process together with our children and how sometimes we may lose our cool, but we intuitively know our children and will grow together during the process. There's no misstep or mistake you can't overcome because you are ultimately in control. In today's episode, I have the wonderful opportunity to interview and amazing woman by the name of Delise Bernard that I am proud to call family and who is also the founder of an incredible resource for homeschooling families called Surviving Homeschool. In today's show, Delise and I chat about some of the challenges that homeschooling moms might face and her advice to get through those challenges. I ask Delise to share her insight on what she thinks it takes to commit to homeschooling your children. You all know this is a new road for me, so my goal is to bring as many resources to the table as I can if you're considering this path as well. I was so excited to interview Delise because she invited me to a fairly new community on Facebook, and I was floored by the level of real engagement and support the group provides for families that are just trying to educate smart kids, lol. Delise and I spoke briefly behind her heart behind her group, Surviving Homeschool, and I knew after talking with her that I had to have her on the show. Delise has been homeschooling her kids forever, that's right, her babies have NEVER crossed the threshold of a public school. And while you might think this was her plan from the very beginning you might be surprised to hear how this really came about. Show Take Aways One of the things that stuck out to me the most from today's episode was Delise's advice to stay attached to your why. Deciding to homeschool your children is a major life decision and while it may feel liberating in the beginning, I'm sure it comes with its challenges, as you hear Delise discuss in today's show. But what I love about her reminding us of our "why", is that I know for myself personally, I'm an entrepreneur so it's my "why" that keeps me going when things aren't going my way, so I'm no stranger to the why being the motivation, and I think you could agree with that as well. What it made me realize, however, is that there is no need to compartmentalize the why. My homeschooling why is very much attached to my professional why as well, and if I use the same thought process that I do when it comes to working, I can navigate through challenging times when they come. My hope today is that you find Delise's insight as valuable as I did when she and I first talked about it. Her passion for self-educating your kids and having the confidence to do so really stands out on the show, and if you're a homeschooling family her group Surviving Homeschool is an amazing resource that I highly recommend. I'm apart of it despite me being lousy at Facebook groups and it helps me when I'm there so I'm sure it can do the same for you. When it comes to homeschooling it's no easy decision. As a matter of fact, it took us 3 years to finally commit to the idea and it wasn't an easy road to get there. When I eluded to the fact that we had made the final decision to homeschool our kids, I got a lot of questions about resources we used to help us decide and I'm no homeschooling pro, I'm a complete neophyte, so I don't have much advice as to "How" to get this done, but in today's episode I do want to share "Why" we choose to home school our kids. I know for a lot of parents COVID has caused us to look at things a lot differently but for us it was COVID that made us choose to educate our kids at home, but it was definitely the litmus test to see if I could have all 4 of these kids at home and not lose my stuff, lol. In all transparency, we're not homeschooling all 4. Our oldest daughter is in high school and is getting ready to be a junior and we haven't figured out how homeschooling works with extracurricular activities like the band so we're letting her go back, but as for the 8th grader and the 2nd grader, it's on baby, lol. They're coming home and I don't know if they'll ever see the inside walls of a schoolhouse again as a student, and as for Summer, her future is looking brighter AT HOME, Lol. The month of June is dedicated to Homeschooling on the show, starting with today's episode of me sharing my why. Then next week you're going to hear from a Homeschooling professional that has never sent her kids to school that's right NEVA, lol, and she is going to share some of her insight and really valuable resources with us, followed by another amazing episode after hers from a mother that started her kids in school and snatched them, lol. This is going to be an amazing month of information and I can't wait to hear what you think. So lets hop right on in to today's episode!!!

Family Travel Advice From Expert Travel Blogger - Eileen Ogintz of takingthekids.com I can not tell you how excited I am that school is finally over!!! I don't know that I've ever been this excited about Summer break, but after having to be the teacher for all this time, I can honestly say I don't care if I don't see another 1st-grade math problem, I'm relieved that the kids can get a break and so can I. But on the flip side of that coin, I'm also like shoots, what am I going to do with these rug rats now that they have all of this time! Like most families, this is our busy time of year with but with this whole COVID thing there are so many rules that we have to know so I decided to call in the help of an expert. Today we're talking to Mrs. Eileen Ogintz who was a national correspondent for the Chicago Tribune then (1987), covering news stories around the country. The travel editor, hearing her tale of woe about the cat and the goldfish pond, encouraged her to write a story about the trials of traveling with young children. That story led to others. “We realized there were a lot of people like me, parents who wanted help planning trips now that they had kids.” The award-winning syndicated column Taking the Kids and this popular website grew out of those stories. The award-winning syndicated column “Taking the Kids” and TakingtheKids.com grew out of those stories. Ogintz is also the author of the Kid’s City Guide series from Rowman & Littlefield. There are now 12 Kid’s Guides to places like New York City; Washington DC; Orlando; Los Angeles, and Chicago, with more in the works. Ogintz is considered a leading national expert on family travel and is often quoted in major publications such as USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, New York Times as well as parenting and women’s magazines on family travel. She has appeared on such television programs as “The Today Show,” “Good Morning America” and “Oprah,” as well as dozens of local radio and television news programs. Ogintz is also often asked to speak to corporate groups about family travel, including Governors Conferences on Tourism. Ogintz holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri and is a 30-year veteran of the news business, reporting for The Anniston Star, The Record in Hackensack, N.J., and Des Moines Register as well as the Chicago Tribune, where she created the paper’s family-issues beat. She has also taught journalism and writing at Northwestern University, New York University, Fairfield University and Quinnipiac University. Today I wanted to share a little bit about how my business is structured that has kept us thriving during this COVID-19 pandemic. In the past couple of months, I've had to privilege of helping a lot of business owners restructure their offerings to help them thrive during this time, and what I've found is that my model of service offerings has been found to be most helpful and has probably been replicated more times than I can count, and businesses are finding themselves able to breathe and see the light, so I thought today would be a great day to share what that looks like. So in today's conversation, we're talking about how I've structured the bones of my service offerings that allow me to adjust rather quickly and have quite frankly kept me at peace during this time. In today's episode, I'm going to share my top 3 ways for earning revenue, even pre-COVID as well as a special offer I have for the upcoming Summer months specifically designed for coaches. Today you'll learn how we use Coaching Consulting and Personal Branding to keep our invoices paying, our clients happy and the hubby happy, lol. Hopefully, today's episode will give you some insight into how you can creatively find ways to serve your audience, especially if your normal service offerings aren't feasible at this time. As always if there are questions feel free to leave them in the comments and I'll answer them in my Instagram stories! Enjoy and be sure to let me know what you think! Hey girl hey! I'm so excited today to share with you the update to the podcast. The podcast has been around for just over a year now, and as you know I was extremely excited about launching it last year around my birthday that I whipped that thing out in no time fast, but if I may be honest with you, I didn't think it all the way through. You see, last year, I was reacting to a demand, which isn't all bad, but I didn't take the time to really strategize how I wanted to the show to 1) be found, 2) build community and 3) last. If I can have another completely transparent moment, I believe there was a little bit of ego around the show and when I named the show and published it I published it around me as the person, and that's NEVER what I meant the show to be. The podcast is a safe place for women that are wives, mothers, or bosses, to come together and have real-life conversations around stuff that matters, stuff that keeps us awake at night, our challenges, and our successes. I've always envisioned the show to be about the women that listen to the show not about me as the host, and I didn't follow my own BRANDING advice and develop for the culture. I developed for me, and God dealt with me for it. I could never get comfortable in the way the show was showing up in the world. The guest's stories are so amazing and so enlightening and I always felt like they were hidden behind me, so I decided to press pause on the episodes and regroup. Now while I was regrouping, life happened and the family abruptly had to move to a completely different city so getting this back together kinda took a back seat until I could get us stable again, and I'm happy to say that we are stable, and I'm ready to jump back on this horse, but this time do it the right way, which is all about you. What is HER 360... So what is HER 360 exactly? I'm glad you asked, in today's episode I'm going to break it down for you and explain my heart behind the change and I'll do my best to explain the vision here below. HER 360 is more than just a podcast, for me, I feel like the podcast is a place that will start the conversation but it doesn't stop there. For me, HER 360 is a movement, it's a declaration that we as women can live FULL, DIVERSE, & BALANCED LIVES, and chase the desires of our hearts, of course with strategy. HER 360 gives us permission to zig when everyone is zagging and stand in our truth's a live them freely. As a mother, it's so easy to get lost in what's happening with nurturing your family that you forget about you. You forget that your period is coming this week and you may need some extra "YOU TIME" this week and the kids can wait. Sometimes you can forget that maybe you're multi-faceted and that pursuing what's important to you right now is ok, even if it means that the kids can't get everything they WANT while you get it. You can easily forget that while you became 1 with your husband to fulfil GOD's plan for your life, that GOD didn't strip you of your own interest and it's ok to have them. You can forget that work requires boundaries and it doesn't define who you are. You are who you are separate of all those things, and self-awareness is necessary in order for everything else to work. And for me, HER 360 helps us define that and gives us the community around us to support us along the journey. The Community In addition to the podcast, it was important for me to ensure that HER 360 was a community. It was important to me that HER 360 connected beyond just the show that there is a place where women can connect with the women that inspire them and build meaningful relationships that connect beyond the show. I'm an introverted person by I thrive when I have a community around me that gets me and cheers me along and corrects me when I can get out of pocket, and I want HER 360 to be that for you. This is YOUR place, I'm just the facilitator of the conversation.
In today's episode of the Kae Whitaker Show, I talk about how I maintain a healthy work-life balance as a busy mompreneur. It's so funny that I'm even having this conversation because when I worked for someone else I yearned for the quote-un-quote "work-life balance", and as so many of you know, when you start working for yourself, that whole idea goes out the window at the cost of wearing that invisible "S" on your chest, and the "Ultimate Sacrifice" of your dreams! Well before you listen, let me just say this, I completely believe in work-life balance, with the definition of balance being what you define it to be, and I practice it daily in my life. Sometimes my definition of balance changes, but none the less, I'm deliberate about making it apart of my weekly routine. And that's what we're going to talk about in today's episode. Now before you listen, a big part of being able to balance work and life is understanding clearly what your priorities are and being able to define balance. If that's a challenge for you I've recorded another episode for you "Managing Expectations and Creating Breathing Room", I encourage you to listen to that episode because I lay out very clearly how to define your balance and go from there. Today's episode I guess you could say is a follow up to that conversation because I share with you how to practically manage the process so you can actually achieve the balance you've defined for yourself. There's no one cookie-cutter definition of work-life balance but to manage your time to do all of what you NEED to do and all of what you WANT to do sure is a good feeling once you've got it down. So take a listen and let me know what you think, and if you're interested in having a brief look at what we discuss during the show you can check out the outline below. How to Maintain Work-Life Balance as a Busy Mompreneur 1. Place ALL of your affairs on your Calendar - ALL OF THEM I know this may seem kind of elementary, but let me tell you what, in a house of 6 there is no way around it. In the past I would only schedule what I deemed as necessary, ie Work, kids activities, ministry stuff, etc, but I would completely ignore what I WANTED to do. You know like go to the nail shop, go to the spa, get a wax, workout, etc. Consequently, I would always do a great job at doing all of what I "HAD" to do, but at the end of the day or the week, I'd still feel like I wasn't fulfilled and drained because I never scheduled what I wanted to do. The minute I started putting EVERYTHANG, yes I said EVERTHANG, on the calendar, I started to feel my spirit come to life. Now let's be clear when I say calendar, I'm not referring to a routine, I'm say intentionally set aside time that can not be compromised on the calendar so you are actively working towards making it happen each and every week. If those activities turn into a routine, great, but if not and routines are hard, like they are for us, at least you know you've intentionally set aside the time and if you stick to the calendar you're going to meet all of your needs. This only works if you work it though, so be sure to tune into the show and hear how I make sure this happens once I've scheduled that time. 2. Project Manage Your Time - Heard of Time Blocking? Now for me, I do time blocking my own way. I start with allocating hours to work, hours to myself, then filling in all of my other commitments. For some moms, this may seem a little backward, and maybe even a little selfish, but it's my way of doing it. Why do you ask? If I don't then I won't get to me. My family is BUSY honey, like always on the go, so I have to allocate time for me to be scheduled weekly or monthly, if not then I'll miss out on me. Once I allocate the time, I still have to schedule it, so don't be fooled my work isn't done and on the show, I give you some of the deets on how I make that happen. 3.
In today's episode, I talk through how to get through your life's transitions, ad what I've learned as I've had to go through these last few transitions of my life in business and life in general. Whether we like it or not, transitions are a huge part of our lives and if we can be completely honest, as a wife, mother, and entrepreneur they aren't always the easiest to navigate. I've had my fair share of experience in this past couple of years with some transitions of my own, and I created this episode with the hope of being able to inspire those of you that feel like you're drowning during this time of transition and wants some advice on how to get through it. These are rooted in my own experiences so I'm hopeful that you can find the energy to persevere after you listen. I'm grateful for the opportunity to share my journey with you and hope you find today's episode helpful! As always, let me know what you think in the comments once you're finished!
In today's episode I talk through how to successfully utilize a focus group to help your business launch new products and services smoothly. Focus groups have served both myself and the clients that I work in a number of ways. One of the primary reasons why we utilize focus groups is to assess the sentiment of a market before we release a new product or service to gauge how hard we'll have to work to accomplish our goals. I think oftentimes focus groups are thought of as something only large corporations do, but the reality is that any small business can incorporate the use of focus groups, the key is making sure you are well prepared to moderate the conversation and collect and analyze the data after it's complete. So in today's episode, I share a recent focus group experience a client of mine and I facilitated and how we prepared for the experience. If after you listen to this episode, you'd like to know about how about what we do with the data after the session is complete, I'd be more than happy to record an episode to explain, just let me know and if I get enough listeners to request it I'll gladly do it. Until then, some things you can look forward to learning from today's episode is How to prepare for a focus group The benefit of conducting a focus group What you can expect from the experience of a successfully executed focus group Steps to take to make sure you are able to create an environment that relaxes everyone and gets you the information that you're looking for. As always, if you enjoyed this episode, please share it with a friend, I've included a pin-worthy and IG stories sized image to make it easy. Can't wait to hear what you think and see if you'll be attempting to leverage focus groups in your future marketing efforts!
In today's episode I got to chat with the fabulous Mrs. Erica Hood Vincent and let me tell you what, get you some tissue because you are going to need it! This particular episode really touched me because Erica and I met via Instagram and we really bonded when I was venting one day maybe a couple of years back about the treatment that my son was receiving from his teachers at school. You see, my 12 year old has ADHD and it's not been easy maneuvering through the school district, and what I didn't know at the time was that this lady name Erica Vincent was watching me and had been where I was currently at and literally picked up her phone, sent me a DM, told me to call her and we talked for hours about what I could do to help my son and help myself as his mother and we've been on and kicking ever since. Now I knew we had that in common, but it wasn't until we met for this podcast episode that I learned she was also navigating through having a son that chose a different lifestyle than what she worked so tirelessly to provide for him and the heartache that she endured doing so. But Erica is a fighter and believes God for his miracles, even though Erica shares with us very vividly the struggles that she endured while raising her son, she reminds us that God is always in control and that every single thing will work within his plan, and for the Vincents, it did just that. So sit back, and relax as you listen to today's episode. Allow yourself to feel the emotions that Erica is giving us and think about how good it is to be surrounded by a group of girlfriends, that love and care about you. Be sure if you listen to today's episode and you connect with Erica that you let her know you found her on the show! In today's episode we are joined by our cost host Mr. Timothy Whitaker and he's talking to us all about his perspective as it relates to working with a boss wife. In the beginning of my journey I have to admit there was quite a bit of tension in our home because I wasn't able to clearly articulate to Timothy what I was trying to do as it related to this business and it caused a bit of a wedge between us and we had to work through it so that I could really do what I now know I've been called to do. I've spoken with so many women about the tension that their business is causing and it's my hope that through our transparency in today's episode we can inspire you to have a more open conversation with your spouse about your business and the two of you can get on the same page and make some magic happen for your family. Full Disclaimer: We are not marriage counselors we are just sharing through our experiences, if you find that things are really tight at home it's both of our suggestions that you seek professional guidance. This show is only intended to be inspiration and insight into how we worked through it not professional marriage counseling. Now with that out of the way, today is also the hubs birthday so if you would shout him out on the gram and let him know you heard the show that would be amazing! Enjoy and be sure to let me know what you think in the comments! Think this episode was bomb.com and pin worthy? Share it with your friends!!!
One of the number one questions I get asked on a regular basis is how I manage 4 kids, a business and my marriage without loosing my mind, and I respond with the fact that it is all about managing expectations and creating breathing room in your schedule to enjoy yourself. I'll be the first to admit, that it is indeed a challenge to try to juggle all of your responsibilities and as a mother sometimes I feel like I'm failing in one part of life and excelling in another at the same time, and it's in these moments that I like to do what I call "priority checking" where I can realign myself and be better off for everyone involved. Usually I know it's time for a good priority check when I start getting cranky and start snapping and getting highly irritable, and in those moments for the sake of everyone in my house I get somewhere and check myself before I wreck everyone in my household, lol. Hopefully from today's episode you can glean from a few of my exercises and find a way to balance out so you too can get back to "normal" and not take everyone out in your path, lol. Let me know in the comments below if you've mastered this whole idea, I myself and our other girlfriends are all ears! Enjoy the episode and don't forget to subscribe, rate and review! XOXO, Kae Think this episode is pin worthy? Yayyyy!!!! Feel free to pin this image and share it with all of your friends!
In honor of Mother's Day I thought it would be super cute to share the 10 things that I could think of rapid fire that my mother taught me that has carried over into my adulthood and my parenting of my own kids. Now in no certain order I share the 10 things that I could think of first that I think are lessons learned from my mother in my childhood and how I think they effect me now in my parenting. These 10 things were thought about good bad and in different and a lot of them made me giggle just a little as I was recording. I also uploaded this episode to youtube and got some views from pistachioconsulting.com, if that is your platform of choice. This Mother's Day I challenge you to do the same. Whether the relationship was good or bad with you mom I'm sure there were some lessons that you aspired to be like or you didn't and define how they've played a part in the relationship that you have with your own kids to this day. If you've got a mommy to share with send it to her and make her day, but if not, tuck them away in a little safe place of yours and review them every now and again as a reminder of the role that your mom played in your life and now that of your kids. This was a fun exercise for me because my mother and I are thick as thieves, but I do realize that this time of year can be a challenge for some because some may not have mom physically present to share this moment with, and for you I want to say I love you and am sending comfort your way. If you decide to participate be sure to let me know! I'd love to see if we share anything in common. Snap a quick pic of your list and post it on IG and use the hashtag #kaegetsme and tag me in it and I'll share it in my stories for today! I hope your Mother's Day has been filled with everything you wanted it to be. Have an amazing day mommies because you deserve it! XOXO, Kae Think this episode is pin worthy? Yayyyy!!!! Feel free to pin this image and share it with all of your friends!

We're girlfriends now, and when you're with good girlfriends you can safely and confidently share your troubles and get amazing advice from a sister that wants to see you win! So get ready, because this is completely new for me as it's new and totally out of the ordinary from what you're used to hearing from me, but again, just like good girlfriends, we are going to grow together, laugh together, cry together and do life together! I hope you're ready for the ride because I sure am and I can not wait to see where this train takes us...
