Empowering Entrepreneurial Women with Amanda Koziel Many women get stuck in life because of fear of failure and not being successful enough. But we must remind ourselves that we have the power within to achieve the life we want for ourselves. If we stop being afraid of making difficult decisions, we can learn from our mistakes and build confidence along the way. In this episode, Amanda Koziel joins us to talk about her journey from corporate America into entrepreneurship. We learn the importance of acknowledging one's worth, celebrating the small wins, and moving forward with intention. She reminds us that we can be the womenpreneur we want to be with vision, impact, and purpose. Most importantly, she reminds us that we don't have to settle for less. If you want to build your confidence and step into the next level of your life, then listen to this episode! Here are three reasons why you should listen to the full episode: Learn how to build your confidence and own your power. Get out of analysis paralysis and learn to make decisions. Find out how you can empower yourself and others through Amanda's VIP framework. Resources My first book, Relationship Ready: How I Stopped Fucking Randos and Started Cupcaking My Soulmate, is available on Amazon and Audible. Check out Powerhouse Women and join the Girl Gang Love & Other Drugs The 12-Week Year Connect with Amanda: Instagram | Facebook Episode Highlights Amanda's Entrepreneurial Journey She first worked for a big pharma company in what she then considered her dream job. After a while, she began to feel unfulfilled in her work. Then, she started having panic attacks and extreme pain. Although Amanda was not overworked, she took this as a sign that something was wrong. When her dad died, she realized that life is short. She sold all her belongings and moved to Texas, where her womenpreneur journey began. That's when she got connected to a company that allowed her to become a franchise owner. Becoming a Womenpreneur She did not make money in her new role for seven months. However, she hit six figures within just a year and a half. Amanda was able to achieve this growth with the help of mentors and business coaches. In her journey, she realized that the more successful you become, the lonelier you get. This dilemma sparked the inspiration for The VIP Woman, a platform offering mentorship for aspiring womenpreneurs. Building Confidence Many women still feel like they have to abide by certain rules and play small. Amanda wants women to know the importance of building confidence and maintaining consistency in what they do. Once you own your desires and take hold of your power, everything else falls into place. Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) The “neuro” part refers to your senses. “Linguistic” refers to internalization—how your body processes what you sense. “Programming” is where therapy comes in. Amanda uses NLP to understand behavioral patterns and uses it as a tool to reverse her client's negative ways of thinking. The VIP Woman's Services Currently, Amanda is offering one-on-one VIP coaching through her ELEVATE program. It involves a lot of inner work and reprogramming. Often, the womenpreneurs she works with think that they are not competent enough. But really, the disconnect is in recognizing their inner worth. Developing Vision, Impact, and Purpose First, Amanda recommends honestly assessing all areas of your life and choosing one or two to focus on. When you have focused effort, you see progress much more quickly. Second, you need to reflect on what kind of womenpreneur you need to be to step into the next level version of yourself. It does not matter what your role is but how many people you're impacting. Once you start to grasp this concept, you will find your purpose. Making Decisions Women often get analysis paralysis because of fear of failure. In addition, many of us carry the guilt that we are not far enough in life. Women need to address these subconscious thoughts. Tune in to the full episode to hear how Amanda utilizes NLP to help womenpreneurs reprogram their minds. Know that you can always change your mind and correct your course if need be. Learning From Failures You can start to improve your decision-making skills by deciding on small matters. Once you get into the habit, you'll build the confidence to make even bigger decisions. People who succeed quickly fail forward. They make lots of decisions, make many mistakes, and learn from these along the way. Reimagining Business During the Pandemic At the moment, Amanda is focused on coaching womenpreneurs one-on-one online. However, she is looking forward to coaching teams once the world opens back up. How Amanda Does It Amanda keeps up with all her roles by being intentional with her actions and feelings. She has let go of the idea that she has to grind every day. Sometimes, you're more accomplished if you remove, rather than add, more things to your plate. She also emphasizes the need for a creative outlet. For her, this is ballroom dancing. Most importantly, Amanda recognizes that hustle life is meant to be enjoyed. She wants to remind everyone: you don't have to wait to follow a passion. Daily Non-negotiables and Advice for Womenpreneurs Every day looks different for Amanda because she does not like routine. She eases into her mornings by dedicating 20–30 minutes to journaling or reading, depending on what speaks to her. She also likes to have coffee in the morning. Find one thing to feel proud of at the end of every day. Assert boundaries. Learn to say no to things and be comfortable doing so. Connect with your emotions and find out which activities charge and drain you. Then, delegate or remove the ones that no longer serve you. 5 Powerful Quotes from this Episode “The more successful you get, sometimes, the lonelier it becomes.” “Once you own your power, everything else takes care of itself.” “Make the decision, and then readjust later, or pivot later.” “Start small. Start there. And once you start to get in the habit and the pattern of making decisions, it'll give you that confidence that you can make those big decisions.” “Make a lot of mistakes along the way, but that's failing forward. You find out what is working, what isn't working. It's so much of a quicker path to what you're desiring than just staying in this ambiguous Limbo land.” About Amanda Amanda Koziel is a mentor, womenpreneur, ballroom dancer, and founder of The VIP Woman. She has extensive experience in the field of sales. She currently coaches ambitious women through her VIP (Vision, Impact, and Purpose) framework that aims to help them upgrade their lives and businesses. Amanda Koziel talks to Ashleigh and Kasey about the truth of working in pharmaceutical sales and her business The VIP Woman, a coaching and mentorship platform for women in business.SHOW NOTESAmanda's Sales Story-At 18 Amanda worked as a hostess for a pizza place, though she loved the job, she wanted to make more money. Her mom found an ad for a customer service position, Amanda went in to interview, and shortly after was offered the position selling high end cutlery door-to-door.-It was this position that opened her up to the world of entrepreneurship and sales, giving her a great foundation for her first job out of college in pharmaceutical sales at Eli Lilly.Pharmaceutical Sales and Creating the Right Tone-It was clear from her first training that this field primarily hires a particular type: young, attractive women. While she didn't feel any discrimination from within her company, clients tended to stereotype her intelligence.-She quickly learned that the initial tone set was everything. Creating a professional rapport right off the bat wards off a lot of inappropriate behavior.-A lot of the personality traits that originally get women into sales and be a great advantage can also be misinterpreted and set the wrong tone.Leading a Team-In her previous role as a Sales Director, she managed a diverse team of 29 people. From this experience she realized how much empathy, understanding, and truly wanting to get to know someone and see them succeed impacts their respect for you.-You need to be able to think about the fact that something you might be comfortable with could be very different for somebody else.Starting Her Own Business-With a passion for coaching and mentoring women, Amanda built her business after noticing that there was a gap in the market for high-level leaders in organizations to receive unbiased support and advice.-There are many things that can be uncomfortable to talk to your boss or immediate supervisor about. The truth of the matter is that you can never be fully vulnerable or transparent with the person that writes your paychecks.-Bringing in an outside voice or perspective is also one of the best things you can do for your team or company because that diversity of thought is how new ideas form and innovation happens.Connect with Amanda-LinkedIn-The VIP WomanResources-Secrets to the Millionaire MindSend in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/othersideofsales/messageSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/othersideofsales/support
