This week we're revisiting one of the most popular recent episodes of The Flickcast. The podcast about stuff nerds love. This one is called American Podcast. Enjoy! Here's the description from when the episode originally came out way back in January: This week on the show the boys dive deep into several new and recurring topics. Some of these include Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, the Golden Globes, History of the World Part 2, Season 2 of The Bear, the upcoming Alien series, the stupidity of Wizards of the Coast, The Last of Us and a whole lot more. They're also debuting a new segment of the show about the movies and TV programs of their formative years. We'd probably call it: "The things that made us." But that's already taken. But yeah, it's like that. Kicking things off is George Lucas' second film: American Graffiti. It's a fine choice and the boys get pretty deep into it. Enjoy. And, of course, there's also the usual more. Picks this week include Chris' pick of all the great stuff from Dapper Notes and Joe's pick of the action figures from Diamond Select Toys. If you like the show, please give it a rating or review on Apple Podcasts, or your app of choice. Every rating and review helps. And if you're really feeling it, consider becoming a Patron and supporting the show on Patreon. That would be super cool. Thanks for listening!

Interview with Zach Oat of Diamond Select Toys about what they are showing off at Comic-Con, both exclusives and upcoming releases.
Welcome back to our regularly scheduled Monday programming! This week on the show: Ghostbusters Day clean-up, news and IDW Ghostbusters Crossing Over #3 discussion! First up, some of the items that we didn't touch upon in last week's Ghostbusters Day celebration show, including Diamond Select Toys announcements and photos, the VOID expanding to 20 more cities, Hollywood Collectables' Egon Spengler statue release, and some news on the San Diego Comic-Con fan event. Then in the second half of the show, join us for setting up our Ghostbusters Daughter podcast book club and find out how you can be involved. After that, some spoiler-filled discussion of IDW Comics' latest release in the Ghostbusters event, Crossing Over issue 3.
Jay and Brian welcome special guest Zach Oat to the show. Zach is the director of marketing for Diamond Select Toys. They start off talking products, and eventually transition to pure, unadulterated geekery.
Hey all... Time for another "themed" episode of Action Features. This time around, the boys tackle the classic 1980's cartoon and toyline- "The Real Ghostbusters"! But this one is a bit more special than the other themed episodes as Mike and James are accompanied by a very special guest- Zach Oat from Diamond Select Toys! Zach joins the show to discuss all the DST Ghostbusters product, but in particular the upcoming AWESOME assortments of figures based on "The Real Ghostbusters" toon... Pretty awesome, huh? So get a grip, come equipped, grab your proton packs on your back, but definitely don't split... Time for Action Features.

I am so frazzled I'm not even sure what to write at the moment. I'm getting over Con Crud, which I think delayed my, “Holy shit that was a busy and productive Dragon Con and how did I get so much done and FUUUUUUUU...” reaction. I was diagnosed with Acute Pharyngitis (which translates to “sore throat and tons o snot”, which is a palindrome) and basically spent all of last week laying around watching Sons of Anarchy and not thinking very much. Now I am thinking again. I am planning panels for next year. I am planning panels for other conventions. I am thinking about how flat-ass broke I am and being thankful that there was this crazy glut of toys right before Con (this always happens for the back-to-school season) so I have enough toys to review to keep me going through November. I am also thinking about 31 Days of Halloween, which starts very soon and which I have no posts banked for. Argh. But I have already made arrangements for some Guest Posts and of course we'll have a new, spookily appropriate Best Cartoon Ever (of the month) from Kalan. For now, I'm just going to focus on Kung-Fu Grip: Action Figures of the 70s – 90s and Beyond! panel that I put on at Dragon Con (it's kind of hard to not hashtag that). I was joined by Gary Mitchel and Geena Phillips to discuss the modern history of action figures. In and hour. As Zach Oat told me, “it seems daunting.” Yes, it was. But I went in armed with visual aids from Diamond Select Toys and a ton of vintage stuff from Billy's Toys & Comics and that helped a lot. The room was packed and the audience was fun; ready for a panel about toys. I think ready for a lot of panels about toys. We gave them as much as we could in the time that we had. I hope you enjoy hearing it now! “Procrastibate” by LeSexoflex.com “Batman: Brave and the Bold Theme” by Andy Sturmer -Phantom
Far Beyond the Stars. In 1998, during Black History Month, Deep Space Nine aired what is one of the most creative stories in the franchise's history. “Far Beyond the Stars” brought us the tale of a black SF writer struggling to make it in 1950s America. At the same time, the writers wove this period tale together with Sisko's journey as the Emissary of the Prophets, making a standalone piece serve equally well as a part of the overall story of DS9. In this episode of The Ready Room we're joined by Charlynn Schmiedt and Tristan Riddell to discuss “Far Beyond the Stars,” its multiple messages, how it works as straight SF, and we explore the future television careers of the staff of Incredible Tales. In news we look at a new Bird-of-Prey replica from Diamond Select Toys, tell you how to get your Starfleet Academy class ring, and debate which piece of Star Trek technology we would most like to have. We also delve into the news that J.J. Abrams will be directing Star Wars Episode VII and what this could mean for Star Trek.
Ryan talks with Zach Oat over at Diamond Select about the upcoming toys coming out on their line!
The Captains. Kirk. Picard. Sisko. Janeway. Archer. Every Star Trek fans has their favourite, and each captain has their own unique command style. Sometimes it's hard to put one ahead of the other when ranking Starfleet's leaders, but in this episode of The Ready Room we're joined by Brian Finifter of Down In Front to discuss each of these captains, their pros and cons, and reveal under whom we'd prefer to serve. In our news segment we look at some new Mego-style retro action figures from Diamond Select Toys and Art Asylum, StarTrek.com's interviews with Terry Ferrell and Connor Trinneer, a Technorati interview with Alice Krige, a possible animated series from Roberto Orci, and Five Year Mission's “Year Two.”
