Jesus Christ, The Prince of Peace, Immanuel, God With Us, is the greatest gift ever given. This Christmas Prayer of Intercession was from of prayer call with prayer leaders from across the state of California. Listen and pray with me. I also transcribed and edited it into a written prayer: Immanuel, God With Us! My Christmas Prayer of Intercession Father, we come before you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, Immanuel, God With us. Lord, we declare Your kingdom is coming to earth right now. We declare that it's not about us, Lord, it is about Your Glory. We Are Not Ignorant of your schemes, satan. You know that you are coming against us to destroy us. But we are NOT victims. We declare that we are standing in the gap as intercessors. Jesus was sent to destroy all the works of the evil one. We are His followers and we are on the offensive. We are coming against you satan to destroy all your works. Lord, right now, during this Christmas season, Your gospel is being preached all over, despite the enemies attempts to quench it. Right now, Christmas Carols that declare your truth are being performed everywhere. I break the label of post Christian culture. Right now in every mall on nearly every radio station, your gospel is being preached. Almighty God now move with your power, through your Spirit, the in same way you protected the baby Jesus from Herod, we ask you to move and protect all the babies from spiritual death. We stand again the devil and declare You're not going to kill these spiritual babies, the lost who don't know you yet. Open their eyes to your love. Heal their broken hearts. We Declare that TODAY is the day of vengeance of our God. Father, you rescued your Son from death shortly after He was born, but there was a genocide that broke Your heart. There was weeping and wailing, and we know You grieved with them. There is weeping and wailing today, and we know You grieve with all those who are lost. For the joy set before Your son, He endured the cross. You knew what He would have to suffer when You gave Him to us as a baby. You also endured that suffering for the joy set before You. We declare that that day of joy is TODAY. Now is the time when You can pour out Your Spirit upon all flesh. Now is the time when You can set the captives free. Father we agree with you, we align with your timing, we align with your priorities and your purposes. Father God, We worship you. Lord Jesus we magnify your name, Holy Spirit we exalt you. Today is your day Lord, we do not have to wait until tomorrow. Lord, touch the lost. Deliver all those oppressed by despair, depression and hopelessness. Lord heal every dysfunctional family. Lord heal the sick. Comfort all those who mourn. Lord though the power of your Holy Spirit reveal yourself as the Prince of Peace. Release your Shalom and crushSatan under the feet of your Shalom. Lord, we envision our state on fire for YOU. Lord keep us on fire, let us be logs in the burning fire that his your body. Continue to burn until the whole earth is covered with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord, the way the waters cover the seas. That is why you sent your son. That is why he died. That is why he rose from the dead, that is why he returned to you and why you sent the Holy Spirit. Accomplish these things oh Lord. In this prayer call we began by praying through these scriptures: Psalms 103:3 “Praise the Lord—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,” And 2Chronicles . 7:14 "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." If you have Jesus with you, while whatever you are going thru, may feel like you metaphorically have a terminal disease, you really are experiencing the vaccination - he will bring you thru the dark season and the antibodies He builds in you will bring healing to many others. We mourned and cried out to God for our state. We prayed for the victims of the Santa Clarita shooting and for the community. In a news article, one student was quoted as asking "What type fo world do we live in." I responded to that question through the lease of redemption. This call was very emotional and raw, we grieved and humbled ourselves before the Lord to plead with him to do what only he can do. We called christians to a higher level, deeper commitment great faith to fulfill our high calling to be God's agents through which he implements his solutions. We concluded with declaring his truth and his redemptive purposes over all of California and beyond. On today's call, I shared a word about the baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire. Jesus had to go through a baptism of fire - his sacrifice on the cross to provide that we could be Baptized with the Holy Spirit. We prayed for the California fires. We prayed for veterans and victims of PTSD and we prayed for young people. If you are walking through a dark time, this word is for you. The fire of God fell on Mt. Carmel when Elijah prayed. When the Israelites witnessed this they repented and turned back to God. That fire which was an external manifestation, fire coming upon an altar and a dead animal, which was intended to point to something greater. Malachi prophesied that "I will send the prophet Elijah and he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to the fathers..." Jesus said the Elijah did come, if you had received him, he was referring to John the Baptist. John the Baptist said of Jesus "I baptize you with water, but there is one who comes after me who will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire." In the run up to the cross, while the disciples are waiting for the kingdom of God to manifest, Jesus told them that first "I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how great is my distress until it is accomplished!" Luke 12:50 The burning bush, the pillar of fire in the wilderness, the fire on mount Carmel, those where all sings pointing to something greater. That was fulfilled on Pentecost, the Holy Spirit, God in us. Before Pentecost could happen, Jesus had to go through his baptism of fire - his sufferings on dying on the cross. We all have our own sufferings, we do not need to die, but we do get to have him come into our sufferings and be with us. We get to die to ourselves, we get to take up our cross, we get to follow him. On this prayer call, I shared a word from Isaiah 61 & 62, about the transformation that is promised through the followers of the messiah. Isaiah 62.4 says: "No longer will they call you Deserted,/ or name your land Desolate./ But you will be called Hephzibah,/ and your land Beulah;/ for the Lord will take delight in you,/ and your land will be married." We prayed this promise for California and prayed for the dark history of our state as well as the beautiful things we accomplished and have yet to accomplish. I shared this message at Centro International de Intercecion (International Center of Intercession) A hispanic church in San Jose pastored by my friend Nicolas Laszkiewicz. I speak in English and it is translated into Spanish. "The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops." Elijah displayed all the symptoms of what we label today as bipolar and PTSD. God did not give up on him, instead he gently healed him and restored him and the greater victory in his life did not come when he was strong but when he was weak. Michael Griffiths was a leader and faithful servant to the body of Christ in California and beyond. He was born 10.13.1949; promoted to glory 7.1.2019. Then we look at the "How" to exercise this faith by diving into Matthew 5&6 where Jesus answers this question in the sermon on the mount, We conclude with an example of this faith in from 1 Samuel 1, where Hannah cries out to God in her desperation for a son and dedicates that son to God, this was the birth of Samuel. In this episode I interview my friend Don Smith who tells the story of the San Quentin warriors, a basketball team in San Quentin, which is being made famous by the soon to be released film "Q Ball" from executive producer Kevin Durant of the other Warriors. Don Smith launched the ministry back in 1996 when his church had an invitation to go play basketball with the inmates in the prison. When he walked in the the yard and turn the corner to see all the inmates he heard a still small voice whisper to him "Isn't this a great place to minister." He's been faithful to that invitation and God has surprised us all. I've had the privilege to be a small part of that ministry. Q Ball the movie, highlights the lives of the inmates we've ministered too and who have become our friends. On today's call we prayed for leaders in San Francisco and beyond. We heard the incredible report of Jesus sovereignly visiting a jewish man to reveal himself as his Messiah. We prayed for Jewish people to be saved and for all people. We prayed for the elimination of systemic poverty and heard encouraging reports of current initiatives in the works in the Bay Area. We prayed for the housing crisis and for tiny homes initiatives, we prayed for a holistic solution to the housing and homeless crisis, and the various factors that drive it. This episode is a presentation by Simon Guillebaud that he made at the Menlo Park chapter of New Canaan Society at our last meeting. Simon is an english man who spent the last 20 years in Burundi. He prayed a dangerous prayer and told God he would go anywhere and do anything for him. He challenged us to be radical disciples for Jesus, to live by faith not by fear. It was such a beautiful message, that I needed to hear and we all need to hear. We may call it radical discipleship, but Jesus calls in just plain old discipleship. Praise God we are not suffering the horrific challenges a nation like Burundi has gone through in the last decades, but our region needs true disciples of Jesus just as much. "God has poured out so much blessing upon California, but look at the state it is in now. Intercessors, it happened on your watch. What are you going to do about it?..." Joan Swallow In my opinion Joan Swallow is on o the intercessors I trust the most to pray for our nation and to hear from the Lord on our behalf. She called me up last week "out of the blue" and told me she had a word for intercessors in California, "but your probably not going to like it." I told her to lay it on me, it was a challenge to stop waiting for others, and stop making excuses, instead own the mess and humble yourselves before the Lord in repentance and intercession. I have heard this before. I aspire to live my life in a position of humility. We have been intentionally seeking the Lord humbling ourselves and repenting, I believe in his wisdom he knew I needed to hear it again and repeat the same exercise again, until we get it. I am so grateful to Jesus who drank the cup, not until he was finished but until the job was finished. Lord pour our your spirit upon our state, show us your glory. This prayer call was a wonderful example of what this community is all about. The leadership of the Holy Spirit was so tangible, he gave us a direction and then connected each of the themes and prayer requests so that each build upon the other. We heard a beautiful test case of how one ordinary intercessor is doing extraordinary things to reach South County and specifically bringing the presence of God to the lost, unchurch young people in a simple, creative non threatening, but super powerful way. We prayed over the heart wrenching miracle requests her young ladies shared. We also prayed for singles who wish to be married, to find the Godlier spouse & to be filled with joy and take total advantage of the serena they currently have single. We prayed for economic transformation and then wrapped up with some more miracle reports and a call to action to commit to live a lifestyle of intercession! It was awesome. In this message from Isaiah 61 & 62. I share how to raise a canopy of prayer to change the spiritual climate over your city. It's much different than what you think. God loves your city more than you could ever imagine. Jesus died for your city just as he died for you. If you will receive his love for your city and “marry” the land, God promises to cover it with his grace and blessing. Today we prayed for the pain in Sacramento. We prayed for God's peace to rest on that city, for the body of Christ to be united. We prayed for Godly voices to speak and be heard. We prayed that the tensions would not escalate into violence and riots and we prayed that the underlying issues of systemic injustice to be addressed and healed. What is impossible with man is possible with God. We also prayed for victims of drug addiction to be healed. If you read the biblical account of the early believers, it is very clear that 1) The Holy Spirit was very real to them, he was a player in the story as real as Peter, Paul, Steven, Jesus. He was a person and an independent actor. 2) He was the x-factor. Like having Labron James on your pick up basketball team, he was the game changer. Christianity without the HS is really nothing, it is like an empty coke bottle, there's nothing there. In the words of Paul "its a form of godliness but devoid of power." Every one says they have the holy spirit, so what is the biblical test that the Holy Spirit is with you? By your fruits you will know them. What did Jesus submit as the proof that he was who he said he was? Believe because of my works, that's what differentiated him and he challenged us and promised us 'Whoever believed in me will do the works I have done and even greater works than these they will do." The Holy Spirit is the X factor, the proof that he is with us is that he does what no human can do. This is what Miracles and Transformation is all about. In this episode Jeff Taylor and I record our prayer for our friend Dick Renard. Recently Dick shared a similar word with his team in Salinas which Jeff is a part of. They started pressing in to receive more faith for miracles, then the opportunity arose. Dick had an emergency back surgery and he is now in significant pain. God is a God of miracles and He has not forgotten about you! In this episode I give an update of how God came through for us when our backs where up against a wall most recently, then I exhort you to get some of the same. He is a God of abundance, What you feel is your greatest liability, that thing the enemy tells you will destroy you, that very thing is what God wants to use to catapult you into your destiny. This is what the apostle Paul meant when he wrote ““My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness'.” Trust Him. Ask for a miracle and expect His power to manifest through your weakness! I am learning the power of listening, surrender and trust. This means listening to the Holy Spirit both what he is say to me AND what he is saying through others. On this prayer call we just got the ball rolling and then the Holy Spirit directed it. On today's call we began by receiving direction from the Lord to learn his word better so we can have our minds renewed and can stand firm on who he sees us as, not whatever else we may thing. We then prayed Psalm 2:8 "Ask of Me and I will give you the nations as your inheritance." We heard a wonderful report from Johnny Clark about a social entrepreneurial project to provide community, employment & housing to the re-entry population in the Bay Area. We prayed for this project and for systemic poverty to be completely broken. Albert Wright led us in prayers for under privileged ethnic youth and shared about the wonderful open doors his CUBU (See You, Be You) program is receiving. It was a wonderful call today. This is a message I shared at a Vietnamese house church in San Jose. It is translated into Vietnamese. In Matthew 28, Jesus shares the parable of the evil servant who would not show mercy after he had been forgiven. We are very often like this because of our pride. Nothing is more blinding than the pride of a victim whose pain holds them captive from seeing what they can and must do to move forward and break the cycle. It is a horrible cycle to be caught in, but that is what Jesus died for. His cross is the great equalizer, we are all equally guilty, equally condemned and equal recipients of his grace to transform our live and break us out of the downward cycle of receiving and giving pain and hurt. I also share out of my own personal experience of how powerful forgiveness is to transform our lives and to allow us to share the light of Jesus with others. The gospel is designed to transform culture and to bring a demonstration of the Holy Spirit with signs and wonders, just like what Jesus did and the early apostles. This is beginning to happen right now in a way that has never fully been realized in this region, and even around the globe. 40% of homeless population in San Jose are minors, we prayed for the orphans. God loves romance & marriage. Sandra and I have been married 22 years, and it just gets better. So this Valentine's Day, I've been talking with my friend Eli Brill. We shared a few stories about romance, and then we got real about challenges in marriage and how we need God's grace because every marriage between a man and woman is cross-cultural. This is my presentation at the San Francisco NCS chapter meeting. I share my story and how the Lord has taught me how to surrender to him over and over. Surrender is the pathway to freedom, power and fulfillment, before every breakthrough in my life there was first a total surrender to His will and death to my own desires, dreams and ambitions. I also share about my fervent expectancy that God is dramatically pouring out his spirit upon on flesh here in the Bay Area.
