The No Mama Left Behind: The Podcast is a truly exceptional podcast that provides invaluable information and support for mothers at all stages of their journey. From pregnancy to postpartum, Marcy and Allison tackle important and sometimes taboo topics with grace, humor, and expertise. The podcast is a guiding light for expecting and new moms, offering education, validation, and a sense of community.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is the level of knowledge and expertise that Marcy and Allison bring to each episode. Both women are well-educated in their respective fields, which adds credibility to the advice and information they provide. They cover a wide range of topics related to pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, and motherhood, ensuring that listeners have access to comprehensive information on these important subjects.

Another fantastic aspect of this podcast is its relatability. Marcy and Allison are not afraid to share their own personal experiences as mothers, which helps listeners feel understood and supported. Their honesty about the challenges of motherhood creates a safe space for moms to share their own struggles without fear or shame. This authenticity sets this podcast apart from others in the genre.

While it's difficult to find any major faults with this podcast, one minor criticism could be that episodes are released on a weekly basis rather than more frequently. This may leave some listeners wanting more content since they have binged through all available episodes.

In conclusion, The No Mama Left Behind: The Podcast is an absolute gem for mothers in all stages of their motherhood journey. Marcy and Allison provide valuable information in an entertaining manner while creating a supportive community for moms everywhere. Listening to this podcast feels like sitting down with close friends who understand what you're going through as a mom. It's an absolute must-listen for anyone navigating the world of motherhood.

Mamas, you don't want to miss this one.In this week's episode, motherhood wellness expert Alyson Hempsey and women's health expert and pelvic floor physical therapist Dr. Marcy Crouch are chatting about one woman's real-life experience with trying to get pelvic floor help after giving birth. While telling this story, Dr. Marcy discusses a common theme she sees in her practice: women who are brushed off over and over when trying to seek help with their pelvic floor following delivery. Well-meaning medical providers are simply not versed in women's pelvic floor conditions, which sadly leaves many women uncomfortable and left in pain because they are led to believe there isn't much to do. In this episode, you'll hear about one of Dr. Marcy's patients and her emotional experience with giving birth, symptoms she began noticing while she was postpartum, and why it was so difficult for her to finally be seen by a pelvic floor PT.Be sure to join us every Wednesday for new episodes of No Mama Left Behind. Who mothers us moms? Is it our partner? Our own mother who lives out-of-state? What does it even mean to ‘Mother the Mother'?In this week's episode motherhood wellness expert Alyson Hempsey and women's health expert and pelvic floor physical therapist Dr. Marcy Crouch,  do a deep dive into what it means to ‘Mother the Mother', and the answer isn't all that simple. For many women, especially those who are estranged from their mother, who have lost their mom, or whose mother doesn't live within close proximity of them, it is really difficult or borderline impossible to have our own needs met in the same way we mother our children. Is it our responsibility? Does that add to the already long list of the invisible load we carry? Or, is it our partner's job to mother us? Dr. Marcy and Alyson share glimpses into their relationships with their partners and emotional needs during trying times as they try to come up with the answer to, “who the f**k is taking care of us??”Be sure to join us every Wednesday for new episodes of No Mama Left Behind. And, since Alyson Hempsey is now in her third trimester, she spares no details when it comes to everything you need to know about pelvic floor health! There are a few different functions of our pelvic floor, but one of the main ones is to support us (that's why we refer to it as the“floor of the core”).  When we add on a pregnancy, the weight of the baby, a placenta, increase of body mass, fluid and blood volume, the load and demand on the group of muscles that make up our pelvic floor grows exponentially over the course of 9 months. This is when common concerns like leaking and prolapse come up (and remember, common does not mean normal). If you are pregnant, plan to be, are recently postpartum, or are experiencing any pelvic floor issues, you do not want to miss out on this week's episode!Selected Links:Marcy's Top 3 Tips for PregnancyPelvic Organ Prolapse and LeakingOur Sponsors and Affiliates:Shop Shine Cosmetics and save 10% off your order with the code NMLB.Check out Mixhers -All-natural remedies made by women for women to help with periods, libido, PMS, anxiousness, sleep, & more. We definitely have, and in this week's episode you get a front row seat into our childhood upbringings and how we are trying to shift the generational cycles as we parent our own kids.Motherhood wellness expert Alyson Hempsey gives us the definition of generational cycles (and generational trauma) and talks about how the ways we were treated as children manifest into our own parenting techniques decades later. Women's health expert and pelvic floor physical therapist Dr. Marcy Crouch shares some memories she has of her own childhood and how they have shaped her as a mom.In this episode we learn that two of the biggest ways generational cycles are perpetuated are through avoidance and overcompensation (ie. avoiding conflict or not talking about strong feelings), and Alyson shares with us some tools we can use to reflect on our motherhood journeys as we work to break these cycles.Breaking generational cycles involves shifting our own behavioral responses and communication styles. With endometriosis, the endometrial-like tissue acts like it's supposed to– it thickens, breaks down and bleeds with each menstrual cycle. But, because this tissue has no way to exit your body, it becomes trapped. This can sometimes cause severe pain, especially during menstrual periods. Brandi is here to share with us everything you need to know about doulas, from the history of doulas, what they do to support birthing and postpartum persons, and how to find the right one for you.Brandi gives it to us straight: whatever you *think* you know about doulas, probably isn't true. They aren't all potions and crystals (though, some totally are, if you're into that). The fact of the matter is: doulas are there to support YOU. Not the baby, not the doctor, YOU, the birthing person, and whatever it is that you need. They are not medical professionals (like a midwife), but, they ARE extremely educated and trained on supporting a birthing person's needs. From helping you get into comfortable positions during labor, to advocating for your wishes during the labor process, to even being a postpartum support person in the weeks after giving birth. And yes, you can totally use a doula if you have a c-section.If you have ever wondered about what a doula is, and how they help you during pregnancy, birth, and beyond, then definitely check out this episode! Connect with Brandi:Check out Brandi's Podcast, Dear Doula, to learn more about how a doula can best support you.Our Sponsors and Affiliates:SRC Health: Medical compression wear for every stage of a woman's journey.
