Marketing Like a Mother

What if you don't have to be the loudest person in the room to have a thriving business? In this episode of Marketing Like a Mother, I'm chatting with sales page copywriter and author Nicole Kepic about how introverts can market themselves in a way that feels natural, not draining. Nicole shares her journey from corporate copywriting to the online business world, how she overcame limiting beliefs about visibility and pricing, and why being an introvert is actually a superpower in marketing. If you've ever felt like the online business world is too loud, too competitive, or just too much—this episode will show you how to stand out your way.Key Takeaways:* You don't have to be the loudest or most extroverted person in the room to succeed—your unique strengths as an introvert are an advantage.* The biggest mistake introverts make in marketing? Trying to be someone they're not. Authenticity is your best strategy.* Writing copy that sells doesn't mean sounding salesy—learn how to connect with your audience in a way that feels natural.* You don't have to be on video 24/7—there are plenty of marketing strategies (email, blogging, podcasting) that work for introverts.* Money mindset matters—stop undercharging just because you think "nice people don't charge too much." Your work is valuable!Links From the Episode:* Nicole's website* FREE Masterclass: 5 Must-Haves For a High-Converting Sales Page* Nicole's LinkedIn* Nicole's Instagram* Nicole's Facebook* Don't Ask Me to Be Loud: The Introverted Girl's Guide to Online Business* Hold My Juice Box: Build Your Business, Be a Great Mom, & Stick It to the DoubtersLoved this episode? So you want to know how to be a great mom to your teenage daughter? Do you have a vision of an ideal mom in your head? Are you determining your greatness as a mom based on how your daughter treats you? Being a “great mom” is subjective to what you believe a great mom to be.  Maybe it's envisioning June Cleaver from Leave It To Beaver as your ideal SAHM who manages to keep everything tidy, never seems to yell or get angry (okay did I just age myself) or Joanna Gaines who seems to manage a thriving megabusiness making homemaking so ultra appealing all the while raising her kiddos.  BTW I love Joanna Gaines don't get me wrong.  Or maybe you're a realist and think a great mom is someone who just wants to know if what she is doing, is enough to prepare her teen girl for the life ahead of her. Are you looking for ways to communicate with your girl so she can start opening up to you? Do you want to understand why is it so hard to approach your girl? Are you stuck on how to approach your teenage daughter in conversation without her freaking out?     JOIN US FOR A LIVE 2-DAY TEEN TALK WORKSHOP!!   You'll walk away with understanding the changes happening to your girl , Shift you role in this teen stage, and discover better communication pathways to connect and grow closer with your daughter   Imagine if you and your daughter can finally have conversations at a level where she doesn't need to hide anything from you! Plus, you'll get to meet other mamas who are all in the same boat.... No Mama Left Behind: The Podcast™️

In today's episode, motherhood wellness expert Alyson Hempsey does a deep dive into the term, “The Great Resignation” along with women's health expert and pelvic floor physical therapist Dr. Marcy Crouch. Together they talk about what the term means and how it has specifically affected mothers across the United States.A total of 48 million people quit their jobs in 2021 according to EdSmart. For mothers especially, balancing work and raising children has always been difficult; however, the pandemic brought it to new heights and presented a whole new set of complexities. In this episode, we talk about the various reasons why mothers left the workforce, including lack of child care, managing work from home, and limited employer support. Let's face it, simply being a mom is a full-time job, and if the pandemic taught us anything it's that mothers are essential. The fact of the matter is, there needs to be better options to support working moms if we want to continue to see them in the workplace. Hey friend! Have you ever been in a situation or seasons that have either made you wonder whether motherhood and your dreams are possible together, or that make you feel like finding balance or feeling "good enough" in either area is impossible? I sure have. For so many of us, this is the story of our life in the military, and in entrepreneurship. I and so many of the women I coach are on this journey too, either reconciling their identity and dreams & desires for their career, fitness, and more with their family life and motherhood. We often wonder if it's possible, feel like it's unsustainable & get disillusioned when we're trying to balance it all and it's way harder than expected or we're feeling pressured to sacrifice what matters most as the cost of "success". We want so badly to believe it IS possible to be a great mom and pursue those dreams at the same time, but it can sometimes feel discouraging in a society or environment that doesn't deeply value motherhood or support mothers well, and where we often feel forced to choose between, or feel like one is always at the expense of the other. Sometimes we can even feel guilty about wanting to have "it all" in the first place, because there are narratives on both ends that make us feel like it has to be an either/or, or that pursuing our dreams is selfish in motherhood. Today I'm sharing 5 mindset shifts to help you be encouraged if you're feeling like it's difficult to balance being a mom, and the other areas of your life. We're uncovering why and how I believe motherhood and dreams DO go together, and how children are the greatest REASON to dream, instead of motherhood meaning we should or have to give up on our dreams. I pray that whenever you're afraid your dreams are not possible, or unsure of the path to make it work without compromising who you want to be for your family, or wrestling with your identity, this strengthens & inspires you to let the Lord keep leading you in His will, and to trust that He can do the "impossible". With God, babies and dreams can, and ALWAYS will go together. *If you're looking for more clarity, balance, joy, & less guilt and overwhelm as you pursue your dreams as a mom, and wish you had a tight-knit community of incredible like-minded, faith-oriented women who GET IT and can support & encourage you through the joys, struggles, fears, doubts, and everything in between, JOIN US today in my Renew Small Group Coaching Program! Is there a certain amount of time it takes for you to be a great mom or expert mom? It's been said that it takes about 10,000 hours of practice in order to become an expert in something. Well, you're a mom 24/7...so that would mean about 417 days or about 14 months. If you ask most moms of a 14 month old if they consider themselves an "expert mom" most will probably answer, "no."So how do you know when you have reached "great" or "expert" mom status?Maybe it isn't the 10,000 hours, but it does take a whole lot of time, patience and work. The more you practice, the more you learn and the better you get. So really, the answer is forever!Maybe not the answer you want as a mom; but know that you are a fantastic mom now and as you learn and practice your mothering more, you will become even better! The only way to be a great mom is to learn and grow! The reason you work on yourself, learn personal development, read the books is to better yourself. And when you better yourself you better your children and those around you.Today, take one small step to learn and grow as YOU: buy a book, check a book out from the library, download a podcast, read an article, watch a video. Do something today that will help you to grow and become an even better mom and person.www.allyoumama.comIG -@MeghanQBarrett

Sister, I see the burdens you're carrying.   In this episode we discuss the challenges of trying to keep our family + faith first while serving in uniform. We dive deeply into mom guilt and the high expectations we feel in both work and at home, and our torn, conflicted hearts as working moms who desire to be the best we can be for our families, and also be the best we can be in military service or the impact we feel called to make...the fears of failing our families, falling short in our work, of letting others down, of not doing enough in either areas of our life, or living up to what God is calling us to do.   We take an honest look at how motherhood is not yet normalized in the military, and the pressures and realities of the job that cause many military women to leave the service because we feel forced to choose between our family, career, or health. We often don't feel comfortable with the “cost” of success, and often feel like we're losing ourselves & what matters most, or our children & marriages are bearing the cost of our service. We don't want to sacrifice our presence with our family for the sake of our career, but also don't know any other way, or feel we have a choice.   Join me on this journey sister, and take heart that you are not alone in the burdens you're carrying. Do you find yourself secretly wondering if you're a good enough mom?    Do you wonder if you're doing enough for your kids - providing the perfect balance of saying YES, but also giving the structure they need to thrive?   Do you hope your kids are truly happy and getting their needs met?   Do you subtly fear that your weaknesses and imperfections are going to pass down to your kids and you're going to hurt them because of the areas that you just can't seem to “measure up?”   I could go on and on with the questions (and really fears) that might be frequently swirling around in the back of your mind and in the deep places of your heart as you do your BEST to raise your kids.    I know this because I AM a mom too…and I know these questions so well.    There is NOTHING I want more than to be the BEST mom that I can for my children.   AND I know you want the same.    But here's the thing… Although asking yourself hard questions and checking in with yourself from time to time is NOT a BAD thing. There's so much wisdom in self reflection as you seek to keep growing.    It's important that you identify the lies and if your questions are rooted in doubt, fear, insecurity, comparison to others, mom guilt, or simply SHAME?   I know Mother's Day is upon us and as you anticipate your family celebrating you in some way, you might be triggered to subconsciously ask some of these doubting questions or feel a certain way …and wonder if you're WORTH being celebrated as a GREAT MOM?!    Today, I'd love to speak some TRUTH and bless you This Mother's Day (or whatever day you're listening)   But first, let's take a moment and set our feelings aside and discover WHAT OUR KIDS actually want from us and how we can be a better mom (from their perspective).    When I ask my Kids the question “How can I be a better mom to you” the answer is always the same…and I'm going to share that with you today because I bet your kids would agree too.    Be Blessed this Mother's Day! ~ Michelle    Connect ~ www.NourishingMichelle.com/connect Email ~ Hello@nourishingmichelle.com IG ~ @NourishingMichelle  FB ~ www.Facebook.com/NourishingMichelle

If you're a normal Mom, you feel like you're not doing a good enough job. But you are. I know because I've worked with almost a million Moms. You are NOT a bad Mom if…Your child doesn't brush his teeth or hair, listen the first or fifteenth time, or eat everything (or even anything!) on his plate.Your kids squabble with each other and act ungrateful. Your kids go to school with mismatched clothes (or the same hoody for 18 straight days!). You feed your child potato chips for breakfast because sometimes you have to make it through the moment so you can accomplish 100 other tasks that are more important! You get calls from school because your pre-schooler doesn't sit in circle time, your 3rd grader doesn't follow directions, or your teenager does the bare minimum just to get by.People judge you constantly and think you just need to get better control of your children (as if you haven't already been firm and consistent with consequences).YOU are a GREAT Mom because no one has any idea what you have sacrificed so your kids can be happy and safe, so your home doesn't fall apart, even though you feel judged and alone. You're not.YOU are a GREAT Mom because even when you are exhausted, you get up in the middle of the night to calm your child's fears even though your simplest needs often get ignored; because there is nothing as relentless as the love of a mother. You are a GREAT Mom and don't you forget it.Most of you don't really believe that or feel like that inside.  So what can you do differently to get rid of that guilt or feeling of never doing enough?  (1) Stop comparing yourself. Don't believe those Instagram posts featuring parents who juggle it all effortlessly. Stop internalizing your own mother's guilt trips. Those are lies. Instead, surround yourself with people who understand how hard this is.(2) Actively counter those negative voices in your head with positive affirmations. You'll hear that in the Straight Talk for Stressed-Out Moms program. It's very powerful when you create a new soundtrack in your head to replace the old one.     - I am not responsible to make sure everyone is happy, grateful, and well-behaved.      - I am not responsible for making sure everything goes smoothly for everyone else.     - I relinquish that responsibility so my kids and spouse learn how to control themselves.     - Today, I take care of myself so I can give without feeling exhausted or resentful. Wake up and say your own affirmations every day until they become internalized and you actually believe them!(3) Do unto yourself as you have done to others. I dare you to take this challenge. Yes, it's a twist on the admonition to “Do unto others as you would have them to unto you.” But you already do/give to others—you just don't take care of yourself well. And that will leave you feeling drained and resentful. Why DO you give so much to your kids and others? Because you deem them worthy of your unconditional support, encouragement, forgiveness, and love. Why, then, do you make those same feelings toward yourself so conditional? Don't you think YOU are just as worthy of giving yourself and receiving unconditional support, encouragement, forgiveness and love? Well you are. And it's about time you started acting like it. You ready?

You NEED to change your mindset that you're a BAD MOM for putting yourself first. I don't know about you, but I don't want my daughter to grow up witnessing a mom who is constantly exhausted, worn out, and stressed 24/7. I am setting the tone for her life RIGHT NOW. You're doing the same for your babies too. When they see you take care of yourself, it shows them that they need to prioritize their self care too. So here are some things YOU MUST prioritize, especially now that you're a momma. THINK SNOWBALL: 1. S is for SLEEP. Make sure you're getting enough rest. When you're tired you aren't thinking clearly and your mood may suffer. 2. N is for Nutrition. Eating food that's good for you will help you recover, give you energy, and is especially important if you're breastfeeding. 3. O is for Omega 3 Fatty Acids. Fish oils have been proven to reduce anxiety and depression in new moms. 4. W is for Workout. Exercise will improve your mood and help your body recover from giving birth. Plus it's an energy booster.5. B is for Baby Breaks. Take some time away from your baby. It can help you feel more like yourself again! 6. A is for Adult Time. Spending time with other adults—your partner or your friends will help you maintain important relationships.7. L is for Liquids. Try to drink at least two quarters of water daily. EVERY. DAY. 8. L is for Laughter. Remember to laugh and give yourself a break.  Life with a new baby requires a sense of humor.
