For our forever favorite, Kate Clayborn, our third Fated Mates Live episode! During the absolutely delightful event (we had so much fun!), Kate selected an interstitial topic that we've never tackled, somehow? It's time for Marriage in Trouble! We talk about the old school bones of the trope, with ingenue wives and the jaded heroes who have to crawl over glass for them, about marriages that carry enormous secrets, the grovel, the heir, and about the threat of divorce motivating men toward being their best selves. Is this good marriage therapy? It is not. Is it good podcasting? It is. We also want to thank the following publishers and authors for their incredible generosity in making sure that almost every attendee of the Live went home with a romance novel. We are so lucky to share Romancelandia with you: Avon Books, Ballantine Books, Blue Box Press, Dell, Grand Central/Forever, Gallery Books, Lauren Blakely, LJ Evans, Pippa Grant, Ana Huang, Parker S. Huntington & LJ Shen, Elle Kennedy, Avery Maxwell, Ava Miles, Max Monroe, Kathryn Nolan, Amari Nylix, Meghan Quinn, Piper Rayne, P Rayne, Stephanie Rose, Lucy Score, & TL Swan.If you want more discussion of banana-pants romance, join our Patreon and get access to our Discord, where a thousand other listeners are hanging out and giggling all day long. Show NotesRead Kate Clayborn's The Other Side of Disappearing, which is a beautiful road trip of a romance that does not have a marriage in trouble but does have a hero who is pure fire.Sarah used to work for Susan Miller of Astrology Zone, so when she tells you that Mercury is in retrograde, you better listen. Even if it's about The 2000 election Like Jen, you may have thought the superhymen was a myth! But now you know better because of romance, Fated Mates Live, and Megan Frampton.
Headphones in! This is not for beginners. Our second Fated Mates Live episode is live! During the event (which was so so fun we love every single one of you who came!), the fabulous Nikki Payne selected one of the most challenging interstitial topics we've ever tackled—Inanimate (and sentient!) objects! So! This one is very very odd, and filled with a number of recs that just prove that there is literally something for everyone in this big, beautiful romance pool. This is the first of three episodes inspired by the incredible time we had at Fated Mates Live in Brooklyn. During the event (which was so so fun we love every single one of you who came!), we asked guests Nikki Payne, Kate Clayborn and Lauren Billings of Christina Lauren to choose an interstitial topic they would like us to tackle on the show. Lauren chose a great one: Exceptions to our rules, meaning…tropes we don't care for that are done really really well. So! This one is for everyone who's ever asked Jen for Secret Baby or Virgin Heroes and anyone who's ever asked Sarah for Friends to Lovers or Spies. We talk about the books that make us go…not that…but maybe that? We also want to thank the following publishers and authors for their incredible generosity in making sure that almost every attendee of the Live went home with a romance novel. Christina Lauren's newest book, The Paradise Problem, is out May 14th. Preorder it now, and check out their tour schedule to go see them (they're even more terrific in person) when they're near you!Solar eclipses are very cool, and Jen really should have gone home…. as it turns out, 95% is not anything like 100%! If you have the chance, you should go get in that path of totality. Jen's brother Erik was at his office rooftop in downtown Cleveland and saw people getting married, and also took a very cool video at totality. New York earthquake twitter was pretty funny, too. Stephanie Rose checked off a huge number of major life events in her early 30s, in a bit of a whirlwind fashion. She met and married her husband, bought her first home, gave birth two her two kids, and experienced the death of her mom. Then, at 39, she started a business and realized she didn't really have a frame of reference for who she was any more and felt like she needed to get to know herself better. So she used exercises from Julia Cameron's The Artists' Way and then developed some of her own. Using these tools, Stephanie is reframing things from her past. Looking at harder moments and realizing she did the best she could with the tools and capacity at her disposal at that time.Guest Bio Stephanie Rose empowers women to remember their magic through knowing themselves better and live a life that lights them up through mindset shifts, easy to try tips and giving themselves the permission they only think they need to change their lives. In this episode, I sit down to talk with Stephanie Rose, Founder of Firefly Scout. Stephanie and I met about a year and a half ago through "The Artist's Way." She is an empath with a beautiful take on creativity and finding what lights you up. I know you'll enjoy this episode as we talk about her journey, why she does the work she does and some beautiful thoughts on creating rhythms and finding evidence for discovering our magic. Here's a bit more about Stephanie: "Feeling overwhelmed and waking up to the reality that her life wasn't fulfilling her sense of WHY, Stephanie went on a personal growth journey. As a working mom with two boys, a spouse and all the grown-up commitments that come with it, she started taking moments to put herself first and remember her true self. Through a lot of intentional exploration, she became aware that she is so much more than ‘just a mom' and was limiting herself when she let those basic life details define her. She's taken the process she went through and packaged it up to share with all of us in the Illumination Kit and created a collection of other easy-to-use tools to inspire us all to keep scouting out all the things that light us up." You can find all of her amazing resources, including her Illumination Kit at her website: www.fireflyscout.com. And here are 3 books she mentions in the episode: Discover Your Dharma by Sahara Rose Sensitive is the New Strong by Anita Moorjani It's Not Me, It's You by Mhairi McFarlane I know you are going to be as inspired by this conversation as I was! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/monasticmamas/message

Stephanie is the founder of the popular website GardenTherapy.ca, an award-winning author (Garden Alchemy, 2020), and a student and teacher of organic gardening and permaculture who aims to encourage better living through plants. The Regenerative Garden is a guide to working with nature, instead of against it, by employing permaculture techniques to create a garden that is not just more beautiful and productive, but also more resilient. Whatever the size of your space, from a tiny patio garden to a big backyard, and whether you grow food, flowers, shrubs, trees, or a combination of all, The Regenerative Garden is here to help you become a better, more eco-conscious gardener. The 80 featured projects include step-by-step instructions on how to: Employ intensive planting to reduce weeding and watering chores Use living mulches to amend the soil Build self-watering planters and wicking beds to reduce water use Install a rain garden to catch runoff Plant a wildlife hedge to support creatures and create a windbreak and noise buffer Compost projects and systems to repurpose waste on-site Make a butterfly migration station to support pollinators of all sorts A healthy, organic, regenerative garden is a perfect example of a self-sustaining ecosystem; everything works in tandem, is intricately connected, and comes full circle to create its own never-ending cycle of life. She's an award-winning author and a student and teacher of organic gardening and permaculture, who aims to encourage better living through plants. This conversation will get you inspired for springtime, share practical tips for garden landscapes and focus on Stephanie's most recent book, The Regenerative Garden: 80 Practical Projects for Creating a Self-sustaining Garden Ecosystem. I am so excited to introduce you to the experience and natural vibe Stephanie cultivates, so stick around while we dive into practical permaculture with Stephanie Rose.
Stephanie Rose is a prolific gardening author, and in this episode we discuss her 11th book, "The Regenerative Garden". The Plant of the Week is the Eranthis hyemalis, or Winter Aconite, and although I threw 'pruning climbing roses' into the title, there are lots of additional hands on seasonal gardening tips in this episode, such as cutting back liriope, dethatching your lawn, how to plant and prune lavender (okay, that's not seasonal, but someone wanted to know). --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/intothegarden/support

On this episode I chat with Stephanie Rose of Firefly Scout. Stephanie talks to us about our glow - the light and high vibe energy that is inside us all, and how we can nurture and grow our glow every day, even in our hectic, busy lives. Tune if for this great conversation and learn how to grow your glow. Take Aways After having kids, some mom's struggle with their new identity. It's important to take time to get to know yourself again and take a journey of self discovery to redefine who you are, as a mom, and who are apart from being a mom. Stephanie says your glow is a lightness or your high vibe energy. It comes from your heart and you can find it by getting in touch with yourself and figuring out what brings you joy. As givers, women can be more abundant and give to those around them if they are giving from a full cup, rather than an empty cup. Make a list of all the unique things that give you joy and make you smile, no matter how small or big. Categorize your “joy list” based on approximately how long they take, and use it to squeeze in moments of joy into your life. Cut out things in your life that steal your joy, make you feel jealous, or not-enough. Feeling that you have no time for things that bring you joy is an illusion. You can carve out 10 minutes, either before bed, or when you wake. Just think, you have 10 minutes to scroll social media,...you just have to choose to intentionally use your time for things that bring you joy. Journaling helps you dump all the thoughts and emotions you carry around so that you can clear your mind. Walking, exercise, visualization, and being in nature are other ways you can clear your mind and get out of your “nipping” thoughts. Mindset is like a color of glasses you put on. You can frame what you see in a positive light, and it's a choice in the beginning, but can become a habit. You are not broken, you just need to heal. You don't need to fix yourself, you just need to scout out who you are and find your glow.
