Happy Hump Day, everyone! After a gloomy day yesterday, it looks like we'll get plenty of sun and temps in the mid 60's today. Which is good, because my lawn needs some serious attention. Today we had another round of "One Gotta Go Wednesday". The topic was decades of music. 70's - 80's - 90's - or 2000 to 2010. Which one's gotta go? In the news this morning, changes are coming to your Google search bar, a child in Wisconsin is dead after a skid steer accident, a guy in Texas drove his Cyber truck into a lake, a dude in Maryland set off fireworks inside of a Walmart as a distraction while he tried stealing a bunch of jewelry, and several people got stabbed on a beach in Rhode Island yesterday. In sports, the Brewers dominated the Cubs again last night to take over 1st place in the NL Central, the Knicks rallied from a 22-point deficit in the 4th quarter to force overtime where they would outscore the Cavs for a win in the first game of the Eastern Conference finals last night, the NHL Playoffs continue tonight, Jason Kidd is out as the head coach in Dallas, Adam Foote is out as the head coach of the Canucks, and Rashee Rice violated his probation and now has to do some jail time. We talked about what's on TV today/tonight and discussed the perfect male & female bodies. A bunch of students in California are working to save a wildfire area, a British cop on vacation in Nashville jumped in to help an American police officer who was being assaulted by a suspect that had a hold of his gun, and Sir Jumps-A-Lot doesn't actually jump at all. Elsewhere in sports, the NFL is planning to expand it's international schedule in 2027, Jaxon Smith-Njigba gets the wrong trophy, and Joey Chestnut slaps a guy at bartime! And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a guy dancing in the middle of the road with a rare turtle, a woman who gave birth in a courtroom while handcuffed, a kid who called 911 on his mom while she was driving drunk, & a graduation ceremony that used A.I. to announce the names of the grads.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

What makes the Hurricanes so dangerous right now? And can Montreal disrupt Carolina's near-perfect playoff run?Tyler, Hutts, and the crew give their full Conference Final predictions, key battlegrounds, X-factors, and upset paths for every team still standing. We also dive into the latest coaching drama around the NHL as the Vancouver Canucks fire Adam Foote after just one season behind the bench. Was this the right move for a team still searching for direction? Plus, Sheldon Keefe returns to New Jersey, Bruce Cassidy's latest comments, and a look ahead at a massive offseason for the Winnipeg Jets.

Nick Alberga & Jay Rosehill dissect Vancouver's decision to move on from Adam Foote, and whether it effectively takes Manny Malhotra off the board for the Leafs' vacant head coaching position. Plus, they break down Jay Woodcroft as a potential fit in Toronto, and debate whether he could be the right guy to guide this group moving forward. Also, the guys weigh in on Chris Johnston's reporting that suggests the Leafs are willing to discuss anybody on their roster outside of Auston Matthews. In this super-sized show, I spent the first 30 minutes talking about the Canucks firing head coach Adam Foote. Then I welcomed The Prospect Don to share his insights on this year's draft class, culminating in a Top 10 Mock Draft.
Join Bryan Hayes, Jeff O'Neill and Jamie McLennan for Hour 1 on OverDrive! They discuss the Canadiens' series win against the Sabres, advancing to the Eastern Conference Final, the matchup with the Hurricanes, the Sabres' season performance, Adam Foote's departure in Vancouver and David Carle on the Maple Leafs' radar as head coach. They go around the sports world in the latest edition of Confirm or Deny, Victor Wembanyama's incredible performance, Aaron Rai's win at the PGA Championship and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander winning the NBA MVP award.
The Vancouver Canucks cleaned house by firing Adam Foote and the entire coaching staff just days after naming Ryan Johnson GM, continuing a full organizational reset despite the costly decision to eat two years remaining on the coaches’ contracts. Attention now turns to Manny Malhotra as a possible head coach candidate, creating a potentially awkward wrinkle with his son Caleb viewed as a realistic option for Vancouver at third overall in the draft. Elsewhere, the NHL coaching carousel continues in Toronto, Los Angeles and Edmonton, where the Oilers remain interested in Bruce Cassidy while also initiating talks with Craig Berube. Montreal eliminated Buffalo in Game 7 overtime behind strong goaltending from Jakub Dobes, while some of Buffalo’s top players — including Alex Tuch — failed to deliver in key moments and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen was questioned for allowing the OT winner by Alex Newhook. Carolina now enters the Eastern Conference Final after a 12-day layoff that could initially create some rust, though the rest should benefit Frederik Andersen most. The Hurricanes’ depth advantage over a tired, short-benched Montreal squad appears to be significant. Out West, Vegas heads into the Western Conference Final against Colorado with injury concerns surrounding Mark Stone, and even if he returns, the Avalanche are viewed by most as the deeper and more complete team.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Nick Kypreos, Justin Bourne and Sam McKee share their reaction to the Montreal Canadiens edging out the Buffalo Sabres in overtime in Game 7, Alex Newhook's clinching goal, and what went wrong for the Sabres right before the winner. Then, Clear Sight Analytics CEO and MSG analyst Steve Valiquette (9:32) joins the guys to chat about Jakub Dobeš' performance against the Sabres, whether Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen will be Buffalo's goaltender of the future, and what changes in his game he will need to make. Afterwards, Vally previews Golden Knights vs. Avalanche in the West Final, Mitch Marner's quality shots, and Scott Wedgewood vs. Carter Hart. To wrap up, Nick, Justin and Sam share their picks in both Conference Finals, discuss the Golden Knights losing their appeal for their media violation, and react to the Canucks firing head coach Adam Foote.
