Season 24 Episode #8 Ben Hestley and Shaun J BoyceToday, we've invited Ben Hesley to our studio, where he'll share some pro tips to improve your off-court conditioning for tennis. Ben is from Bull Shark Sports and has years of tennis experience. In today's episode, he'll share some unique tips that many pro-level tennis players overlook that can significantly determine the difference between your victory and defeat. What This Short Session IncludesWhy Long-Distance Running Might Not Be Best for Tennis: Long-distance running utilizes a different part of the cardiovascular system than tennis needs, Ben explains. Tennis takes bursts of energy, not endurance runs.Better Conditioning for Tennis: Instead of long distance running, Ben suggests doing interval training. That means sprinting short distances (20-50 yards or so) and walking or jogging the same distance or amount of time. This is closer to the experience of a tennis match. How to Use Intervals in Your Training: Ben has straightforward advice on how to time your runs. You can sprint for 10-20 seconds, then walk or jog for the same duration. This will be developing the right kind of fitness for tennis.Get Tennis-Ready Fitness: By this type of training, you will be in better condition to play tennis. Developing greater stamina will boost your performance in games.Be Our Next GuestLike Ben Hesley, you can also be our next guest and let the tennis community know your unique trick. This is the conversation we had before recording episode 124 which won't be out until October 24, 2024,In this episode, we talk about more paranormal and spiritual things than we usually do. We talk about our readings with Zoey, dream interpretations, and Megan's child talking to ghosts. But we also ramble on about the Minnesota State Fair, books and TV shows we're watching, and storms that delayed this recording. Megan tells us about something in her childhood that we never knew before! So, grab your State Fair Food, and join us where… The Sideshow begins. Be sure to listen to the episode of The Activity Continues that followed this discussion. It's number 124 and in it we discussed The Dead Files “Starvation Heights” (Season 1). It will be released on October 24, 2024. Content Warning:In this episode we mention kidnapping, being buried alive, dying by fire, dying by drowning, and child death (from an allergic reaction) and possible death in a car crash. Yes, this episode is a lighthearted romp! Actually, it is. These things are brought up because of dreams or past life regressions. So trigger warning for those who need it. Also, we swear a little bit. The Activity Continues, our main even show, is a paranormal podcast where soul friends, Amy, Megan, and AP chat about pets, true crime, ghost stories, haunts, dreams, and other paranormal stuff including the TV show, The Dead Files. We also sometimes interview interesting people, whether it be a paranormal professional, a Dead Files client, or a listener with spooky stories. This episode was recorded on August 28, 2024 and released on September 5, 2024.Chapter Markers00:00:04 Intro/ Content Warning00:00:34 Cold Open00:01:27 Hello and Storm talk00:02:44 Jordan's Ghost and Megan's spirit daughter (death talk)00:07:04 Amy's Car Crash Dream00:09:00 AP's House Dreams &n Mimic Voices00:13:05 Gifts from a Coworker00:14:40 AP's State Fair Adventure & More Storm Talk00:21:28 Kidnapping Fears00:26:52 Vet moment: Hypothyroidism in dogs00:29:24 Megan's Regretful Mom Moment00:32:40 AP's Kitchen Skating00:34:40 Amy's Book Rec00:36:30 AP's TV/Film Recs00:37:35 Allanism00:40:32 Next week00:41:20 Outro Episode links:“Here Lies a Vengeful Bitch” by Codie Crowley: https://amzn.to/3MrKzOWCodie Crowley: https://www.codiecrowley.com/aboutCodie on TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@spirit.boredCodie on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@codiecrowleyTrailer for book: https://youtu.be/MKNxJfnEIcUInsect Sting and Bite Relief: https://amzn.to/3yYxPMoPalo Santo Sticks: https://amzn.to/3T8Z9ONAmazon links could generate a small commission to us at no cost to you. Alleine ist schwer - Der Sportpodcast mit Jonas und Mats Hummels
Endlich wieder Sport-News vom Feinsten!

Over the past 4 days I have been having to and fro discussions - arguments - intellectual tennis matches with people on my Facebook page.. For some reason I feel the need to answer people when they either make unfounded comments or they ask me questions to provide proof or support of my decision to support the Yes 23 campaign. This discussion is going on right around Australia right now.. If you are undecided.. here is a way to fast track your inner discussion.. Hear what the No supporters are saying.. Hear how I and others who support the Yes case answer their questions, their claims and allegations.. There is so much information out there.. I hope it helps some of you who are undecided and looking for more data, facts and information to help you make a considered Yes vote decision.
In this bonus episode, we have a special audio production from British literary scholar Saul Leslie and American writer Wendy Liu. What do you think David Foster Wallace was really like in a tennis match? You are invited to listen to a tennis commentary of a fictional match played between David Foster Wallace and Martin Amis. This audio piece was part of DFW2023, held in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It was written and presented by Saul Leslie, and features commentary by fictional Wimbledon champion and writer Elsa Canetti (voiced by Wendy Liu), and a guest 'courtside' appearance from literary academic Beci Carver. Hopefully this gives you a sense of what it would be like if Amis and Wallace really did play against one another. As for who is ultimately triumphant, you'll have to listen to find out! Be sure to check out this pamphlet for more details about the tennis match and the audio production. Follow Saul: Email - sileslie@liverpool.ac.uk. I'm joined by one of my dear friends, Berkley Reeves in this week's episode. We talk all the things dating in your 30s. Where were at, how we got here, and will we ever wanna share our comfy beds with a significant other on a regular basis!? Let's face it, some of us are so used to our own independence, that finding "the one" is exhausting, and some times a night with a bottle of Chards and some Netflix sounds better than the actual jungle that modern dating is. From a hetero and homo standpoint, I think we cover some pretty relatable topics while exhausting the analogy between dating and a tennis match. As always, be sure to like, comment, share and enjoy.
We are back with another instant classic. This one covers the NFL, MLB, Boxing, Tennis, and a lot more. Shoutout to the Bakersfield sign spinners.
