Trans people in sports?! Huge if true. Republicans would have you believe this is a national emergency of the utmost unfairness, and for some reason a lot of otherwise good allies fall into the "well I just don't know about sports..." trap. So let's talk about where the origins of policing trans bodies in sports comes from (spoilers: it's literally the nazis), and how "unfair advantages" are actually what sports are all about. And let's talk about how trans women don't have those "advantages" anyway. You're gonna learn! Send us a textIt began with a doubt in the Corinthian church — is there really a resurrection of the dead? That doubt spread into denial, and eventually divided the believers. So, they turned to Paul, and his sweeping answer in 1 Corinthians 15 leaves no room for uncertainty:Christ is risen — and because He lives, all who belong to Him will also rise. Our perishable bodies cannot inherit eternity — but in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, we will be changed. The rapture is coming — whether raised from the grave or transformed while living, every believer will receive the perfect, glorified body that no diet, gym, or surgery could ever produce.Death is defeated — its sting removed through Christ's victory at the cross and empty tomb.Paul closes with both encouragement and challenge: “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.” (v. 58)This episode explores the mystery, the triumph, and the hope of the resurrection — and why it should move us to godly living, courageous faith, and overflowing service for Christ.Support the showTo listen to my monthly church history podcast, subscribe at; https://thehistoryofthechristianchurch.buzzsprout.com For an ad-free version of my podcasts plus the opportunity to enjoy hours of exclusive content and two bonus episodes a month whilst also helping keep the Bible Project Daily Podcast free for listeners everywhere support me at;|PatreonSupport me to continue making great content for listeners everywhere.https://thebibleproject.buzzsprout.com

Hey friend! Welcome to Girls Night! It's hot here in Granada, Spain - my family and I moved here last summer - which means I'm instantly desperate for a pool. I cannot wait to go swimming this summer, and as we speak, I'm trying to wiggle one last weekend getaway out of our hotel points before we head back to the US for the summer. But naturally, just like summer means swimming, swimming means swimsuits, which means we're all going to be dealing with our feelings about our bodies in a way we don't have to quite as directly when we're covered in spring dresses or winter coats. Today I wanted to get a little candid - okay, a LOT candid - and share with you what I've been sharing with my in-person friends at my real-life girls' nights lately. And that's how I'm feeling about my body these days, especially considering me and everybody else is about to see a lot more of it. If you're someone who dreads swimsuit season, who starts panicking about "getting beach body ready," or who has ever felt like your worth is tied to the number on the scale or the size of your jeans, this episode is for you. We're going to talk about what it really means to get your body image ready for summer - and spoiler alert, it has nothing to do with losing weight. Before we dive in, I want to acknowledge that everyone's experience with their body is different — and that for a lot of us, the one we have with our body is by FAR our hardest relationship. For some of us, talking about body is tender, for some of us, it's THE MOST TENDER THING. And my hope for this episode is that I've been able to create a safe space for you to process, no matter your experience. And if you find a place where I inevitably fell short, please forgive me in advance. If you've struggled with your weight your whole life, if you've been in a bigger body and faced discrimination because of it, if you've dealt with health issues - your experience is valid, and your feelings are valid. This conversation isn't meant to dismiss the real challenges that some people face, including the very real ways that society treats different bodies differently. What I am saying is that regardless of your starting point, regardless of your body size or shape, you deserve to feel at home in your body. You deserve to define what health means for you. And while mindset work can't erase societal discrimination, it can help you reclaim some power in how you relate to your own body. We'll chat more about this in the episode. Let's dive in! Welcome to Not Well, the podcast where we explore the depths of the human condition with a dark humor and a witty tone. In this week's episode, we delve into body image, chicken farming, and the problematic nature of corporate America's role in the homelessness crisis. Bobby and Jim share their thoughts on open and polyamorous relationships, while sipping on some fancy orange peel wine and reminiscing about Pizza Hut's salad bar. From witchy tales about kombucha to the perplexing use of emojis on Instagram profiles, we cover it all. Tune in to this wildly entertaining episode for laughs, revelations, and non-stop amusement! This week on episode 194 of "Not Well", Bobby and Jim take us on a wild ride through all kinds of topics, with plenty of dark humor to spare. The duo kicks things off by cracking open a bottle of fancy orange peel wine and dissecting a peculiar knock-knock joke involving oranges and bananas. With Bobby high as usual, the conversation takes some unexpected twists that leave us in stitches. Things take a turn for the morbidly funny as the discussion delves into topics such as Jesus, Catholicism, and Rome. Bobby sends his well-wishes to Jim for his upcoming trip and hopes no priests will give him any trouble, but the thought of being blessed by a strange man in a robe is enough to make anyone shudder. The duo then bemoans the upcoming "take off your shirt" season, with both Bobby and Jim expressing their concerns about their current physique - or lack thereof. From probiotics to witchy tales about kombucha, the duo covers it all, with plenty of quips and witty retorts to keep us entertained. They touch on the problematic nature of a white, red-haired navy admiral singing an African traditional song, and Bobby confesses his love for Chick-fil-A despite their controversial stance on LGBTQ+ issues. A heated debate about chicken farming ensues, with Jim attempting to enlighten us on the realities of the industry - and the shocking truth about how our food is really made. The conversation takes a nostalgic turn when Bobby and Jim reminisce about Pizza Hut's salad bar, all-you-can-eat buffets, and the Book-It program. Jim opens up about a new romantic interest, and Bobby gives his two cents on the situation, including thoughts on open and polyamorous relationships - because who needs monogamy when you can have a whole harem of lovers? The duo then turns their attention to the impact of aging on their bodies and discusses the winners of Drag Race Season 15 and Miss Congeniality, with plenty of snarky comments and biting humor to go around. As the episode comes to a close, Bobby and Jim cover corporate America's role in the homelessness crisis, the quality of Uber drivers, and the perplexing use of emojis on Instagram profiles - because nothing says "I'm not well" like a poop emoji in your bio.Support the showAs always you can write us at nowellpodcast@gmail.com or call us at ‪(614) 721-5336‬ and tell us your Not Wells of the week InstagramTwitterBobby's Only FansHelp us continue to grow and create amazing content, like a live tour or just help fund some new headphones when needed. “Sylvia omg you're so pretty!”“Your hair is so perfect!”“And your skin ... how is it so smooth? You've gotta share your skincare routine with me!”I was used to everyone making a fuss over me and when I ran into those freshman girls at my high school that morning, I wasn't surprised. Everyone either knew me or knew about me – and one thing that was for sure was that everyone wanted to be me!For me, this popularity was like food. I didn't know how I'd live without people constantly telling me how beautiful and perfect I was. Then something so awful that I never imagined possible happened and it changed my life forever. Before school started that morning, I was sitting outside on a bench under my favorite tree. Two guys were trying to make small talk with me about something dumb and I was thinking like whatever – this is normal – they're all obsessed. Then they turned away from me and I noticed that everyone around was staring in one direction. I looked and there she was, exiting the latest Lamborghini in the most fashionable clothes I'd ever seen anyone wearing at school. She looked like an upgraded version of me and was developed in all the right places. For the first time in my life I felt jealous of another girl – like really jealous. I was literally boiling inside. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Three things happen here: (1) What you think of you, (2) what others think of you, and (3) what God thinks of you. This is an episode focusing on the biblical viewpoint on the body. Culture dictates to us something completely different, and the truth is - it always has. We are wonderfully made according to Psalms 139:14-15, and for all that can be imperfect about the created order and even about our physical appearance, the human body - divine as it is - is an amazing miracle. So, why do we still struggle when we look into a mirror? There's a culture script and especially our own insecurity self-talk that keeps us distracted, defeated, and even addicted to our looks. It's pretty much the enemy's plan to make you feel less than. Imagine how miraculous the conception and birth of children must have seemed in Old Testament times without ultrasound or scientific understanding. The whole process was captured in mystery and wonder. But even with technological advances and our ability to peer inside the womb, it is still an absolute miracle the way that a child is formed. Beautiful, amazing, and worshipful are words that come to mind when a baby is born into the world. It is sincerely a declaration that God is real, life is a gift, and that we are wonderfully made. www.sueduffield.com

I was 9 months pregnant with my third kid, and my 2 toddlers were splashing around in the pool. On a whim, I handed my husband my iPhone, shot him a grin and asked him to take a picture. "It might be the last one," I said. He snapped the photo, and I texted it to my mom and sisters with this caption: “This is what 200 pounds of awesomeness looks like, people.” I'm Janie Porter -- now a mom of 4 -- and through the years, I've been on a journey to not only appreciate my body but to see it for all it is, not all it isn't.
