On this episode we have former MLB OF Adron Chambers....Adron comes on the show to talk about his college football/baseball career, MLB debut, winning a World Series in 2011 with the St. Louis Cardinals, playing winter ball, time in Indy ball in Canada, transition to coaching. Thank you everyone for listening! Geoff Freeborn
Making my motivational rounds, I invited West Virginia's, Shawn Gates onto the podcast to catch up on old times and discuss our service in the USMC. Thought it would be a nice touch to surprise Gates with our 1/6 brothers, Robert Nunn and Adron Presley. It was smiles all around, as we reminsiced. We enjoyed a great conversation today, as Gates shared his post-USMC service in the WV Nation Guard, deployments to Afghanistan and ultimately, his retirement following 20 years of honorable service. Nunn joined in and we engaged in a few rounds of, "remember when," and discussed inspiring leaders we recall. Finally, we all accompanied Presley on a virtual lunch date in his home town of Laurel, Mississippi, which is the very location of the reality TV series, Home Town. He introduced us to his friends and family and we all got a little peek into the life of Adron, a very good dude. We finished up sharing our thoughts on the topic of brotherhood and the importance of reconnecting with our fellow Devildogs.
As we get ready for the final competitions of the '23-'24 season, we answer listener questions about all things figure skating — predictions, favorite skaters and FS moments, and what 20 programs we'd save in our end-of-the-world bunker. Welcome to our first Scoreography Q&A Episode! We asked listeners to let us know what in figure skating they wanted us to talk about. And we received a far more enthusiastic response than we ever could have imagined! As you will hear, you asked some amazing Q's about our favorite skates and skaters of all time — which, honestly, led us to a mild existential crisis! You asked what programs we would take with us into a dystopian bunker — which REALLY gave us a much greater existential crisis! You were so creative and thoughtful in your questions, we hope we did some of them justice. You also allowed us to dig into some of reasons we love the sport. From Wendy's childhood crush on Kurt Browning to Adron's epiphany at the 2006 U.S. National Championships in St. Louis, MO — all of it was fun to reminisce about. We did make sure to also dig into some of the judging changes we'd like to see, and even offered a few hot takes (Adron had far more than he expected.) We hope you enjoy us getting nostalgic about Paul Wylie program, gushing over countless skaters we adore, and let us know who your favorites are, too! What would you “take to the bunker?” We'd love to hear! In this episode of Sci-Fi Chronicles, Aiden, the mighty Viking, is haunted by his defeat and the unexpected betrayal of Lea. Aiden, Jace and Xenia find themselves in an intense strategy meeting with their team, led by the veteran Stone, as they deal with the aftermath and prepare for their next move. But within their ranks, tensions rise and revelations unfold, painting a daunting picture of the battles ahead.Xenia, hailing from a powerful Federation, gives insight into the origins of the formidable enemy, Adron, and the deadly parasitic infection he has unleashed. As they learn more about these hellhounds, the team's scientists work tirelessly to understand and combat the viral infection threatening their forces.Despite Baker's suspicion and hostility towards Xenia, Stone firmly stands up for her, emphasizing that her allegiance lies with their team and not Adron. The atmosphere is charged as they plan to rescue their one-time ally, Lea, even if it means potential elimination, and devise a way to contend with the substantial threat of Adron.Amidst trepidation, Jace asserts his leadership, inspiring the team with hope and determination. While the staff frantically start working on their assigned tasks, Stone assures Baker in private that anyone posing threat to the mission, even Xenia, would not be spared. This tense episode sees the team navigating treacherous secrets, betrayals, and unknown enemies.
Lea and Adron team up uniting to free themselves.
The Nova team is back at the medical bay to heal wounds from the battle with Adron. When all seems lost Love, Gives rise to Hope.
Lea finally has the chance to meet the mysterious man named Adron.
Wendy and Adron discuss the results of Skate Canada, the second event in the 2023-24 Grand Prix of Figure Skating season. Explosive performances from Pairs team Deanna Stellato-Dudeck & Maxime Deschamps and Women's reigning world champion Kaori Sakamoto headline our experience. But some surprise meltdowns and sketchy judging muddy our perception of an otherwise terrific event. PAIRS The marquee moment of Skate Canada 2023 has to be the free program from Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps that scored a phenomenal 142.39. This vampire-themed program could not look better on them, and seeing how conditioned they look this early in the season solidifies them as not just World podium favorites, but in the running for the World title! WOMEN Queen Kaori Sakamoto came to Canada on a mission and absolutely completed it. Unlike the shaky start she had last season, Kaori skated two gorgeous programs at Skate Canada. A resounding victory was well earned amongst a very strong field, which saw particularly impressive showings from South Korea's Chae-yeon Kim, Rino Matsuike of Japan, Maddie Schizas from Canada, and Lindsay Thorngren of the United States. DANCE We saw the season debut of Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier — who solidified their status as co-favorites for the World Title this season with two sumptuous programs. They faced the fan-favorite disco Brits, Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson, who brought their ever-evolving “Rocky” to Vancouver and came up big for silver. There was also a “competition within a competition” between three American teams — Oona Brown & Gage Brown, Emilia Zingas & Vadym Kolesnik, and Eva Pate & Logan Bye. The Browns siblings took this round by a smidge, but we won't see them again till US Nationals... MENS Japan's Sota Yamamoto secured victory with a fantastic short program and solid free skate. His countryman, Kao Miura, nearly stole the top of the podium with his powerful long program. Things get messy after that, with the disastrous free skate from Korean superstar JunHwan Cha, a surprise bronze for Italy's Matteo Rizzo, and dubious under-scoring that kept Mikhail Shaidorov of Kazakhstan off the podium. Had a conversation with LA comic Adron Duell. We talked theater, standup, social media comedy, tiktok, how being famous on the internet cn give you leverage nowadays, and much more.linktree.com/marconipuma
Love is in the air! The damp, stinky, moldy air. Adron and Travis open the ex-files to educate you, the listener, on how to attract, keep, and potentially slay a mate with LOVE LANGUAGES. Plus: kissin' in kobold, literal love bombing, and Frico the Cheese Angel. You're welcome, Stephanies.
Happy nautical new year, nerds! This one has Adron, Travis, and Ian sailing the seven sleepy seas to create an adventure that can help some old fogeys stay awake. (Fogies? Fogerties?) Plus: rabid sleepytime bears! Plant clones! Weak shanty attempts! Wow!
Ooh baby, this one is a doozy! Ian's out because he had a baby, so Adron and Travis are coming up with baddies to toughen the little sucker up! Personally I'm scared of the pigglies who are going around haunting toes... Plus: three Miatas! Ye olde Best Western smoking policies! And baby eldritch blasts!
Wendy and Adron discuss the highlights from the Skate France 2022 Grand Prix event, including explosive performances from Loena Hendrickx, Guitard & Fabbri, and Adam Siao Him Fa. We also talk about the return of Jason Brown to competition, our desire for skaters to diversify their music choices and move away from the same classic pieces, and why US Skating needs to promote the international camaraderie of skating.
Wendy and Adron breakdown the performances from Skate Canada 2022 — including standout performances from Rinka Watanabe, Shoma Uno, and Miura & Kihara. We also discuss issues watching skating on Peacock, some bizarre scoring during the women's short program, and an often disasterous competition for the men.
Aaahh!!! Real hipsters! Ian, Travis, and Adron teach all of us nerds how to prepare for a cool people Halloween party. The answer involves lots of bird meat and very little clothing. Plus: Adron's first stand-up meeting! The coolest hat ever! And invisible make out sessions!
In the first episode of Scoreography, hosts Wendy Buske and Adron Buske discuss Skate America 2022, and the Quad Axel heard around the world. We explore the biggest moments and surprises of this figure skating season's first Grand Prix event. And we explain the premise, origin, and intended audience for Scoreography. We examine the competitive performances of Ilia Malinin, Isabeau Levito, Amber Glenn, Kaori Sakamoto, Chock & Bates, Hawayek & Baker, Knierim & Frazier, Stellato-Dudek & Deschamps, and more. Wendy and Adron Buske are experienced podcasters whose work includes the long-running show Nerd For A Living, about careers in pop culture entertainment. Adron is also the host of Fictitious, a podcast and YouTube program about the storytelling craft of science fiction and fantasy. Scoreography views figure skating through the perspective of a lifelong super fan (Wendy) and a fairly recent but enthustiastic convert (Adron). The show is intended for the casual skating fan looking to learn more about the sport, and aims to promote figure skating to a wider audience.
In this extra crappy episode of Crappy Castles, the full squad of Travis, Ian, and Adron dive deep into the socio-economic structure of malls and their current state of abandonment. Also we coin the term "Fluffback" Tell us how you have started incorporating the word Fluffback into your everyday speech by sending us an email at wellmet@crappycastles.com
Lactose sensitive adventurers BEWARE!
Can I interest you in some minimap sprinkles? Travis and Ian come up with some stellar side quests to punch up your overly involved campaign, including a fetch quest for a beholder's contact lens! Just in case your D&D narrative was moving TOO QUICKLY. Plus: Ian's got new pants, Adron's got new paychecks, and Travis is pissed about pretty much all of it.
Hop on the eclair canoe and take a terrible trip on the corn syrup seas! And make sure to take your insulin shot while you're at it because this is a much crueler Candyland than you're used to. Plus: Ian tries to steer Travis away from his crippling sugar addiction, Travis attempts to dive nose first into a pile of pixie stix, and Adron continues to be the Necco-white backbone of the show.
Ian learns how to be a fancy lad while slurping liquid chicken. Travis tells him no a lot. Adron makes the best sounding episode yet. Plus a new pixie, horse cotillion, and the origin of vicious mockery.
Dallas Culture Club: Episode 4, Adron TennellAdron Tennell is a multi-sport athlete, playing everything from football, basketball, to track and everything in between. Adron founded Tennell Elite Training, using his gifts and talents combined with his special ability connecting with kids to help develop athletes.
In this episode of Add To Cart, we are joined by Dean Jones, co-founder and CEO of fashion rental business, GlamCorner. GlamCorner started in 2012 with Dean and his wife, Audrey. Neither had a fashion background but they did have a united vision to “accelerate the transition to a more circular and sustainable fashion system”. Today, they operate out of a 5,000 square metre fulfilment centre in Sydney, have 130 people on the team, 30,000 articles of clothing in rotation and rent out up to 70 tonnes of clothes each month. Happy Wednesday folks! Long time no talk! Bounty Board is back this week to kick off a series about storytelling in games and to help us get the ball rolling we have special guest Adron Buske! Adron hosts the Fictitious Podcast a show focused on diving into the “Storytelling Craft of Science Fiction and Fantasy” (we know, its fancier than we sound…). Having met at a local gaming expo in STL called Pixel Pop a few years back, Adron and Caleb have interacted several times over the years and finally they made the time to actually record. Together the two get into storytelling in games. For a long time games were seen as just a kids hobby, but as time has progressed, games have become more and more capable of telling truly masterful stories. Caleb and Adron discuss what works for them, what games they think of all the time, moments that captured their attention completely. They talk about many other things as well, so buckle up! This is a good one. https://www.polygon.com/2020/6/2/21278117/how-to-support-black-lives-matter-george-floyd-protests-donate-volunteer-police-brutality (HOW TO SUPPORT BLM) You can listen to us below, or on https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/bounty-board/id1250147253?mt=2# (iTunes ), http://www.stitcher.com/s?fid=141731&refid=stpr (Stitcher), https://open.spotify.com/show/4daSiZttgl09QGureHcs7o (Spotify), and https://playmusic.app.goo.gl/?ibi=com.google.PlayMusic&isi=691797987&ius=googleplaymusic&apn=com.google.android.music&link=https://play.google.com/music/m/I3bfdhd3zgjbx6ci7d6ah6bir2y?t%3DBounty_Board%26pcampaignid%3DMKT-na-all-co-pr-mu-pod-16 (Google Play)! He began his professional career in 2007, playing for the Johnson City Cardinals, hitting .279 in 36 games. In 2008, he played for the Quad Cities River Bandits, hitting .238 with 13 stolen bases in 95 games. He played for the Palm Beach Cardinals in 2009, hitting .283 with 21 stolen bases and 16 triples in 122 games. He split 2010 between the Springfield Cardinals (75 games) and Memphis Redbirds (37 games), hitting a combined .283 with 14 stolen bases in 112 games. On September 6, 2011, Chambers was called up to play for the St. Louis Cardinals. On September 16, 2011, during his second major league at-bat, Chambers earned his first Major League hit which brought in the go ahead runs for the Cardinals to beat the Phillies. Chambers, who had been brought in as a defensive sub for Lance Berkman attempted an inside the park home run, but was tagged out at the plate. Nevertheless, he was credited with a triple off of Michael Schwimer who had walked Albert Pujols in order to get to Chambers. Chambers was also noted for his contributions off the field to help spur the Cardinals on during their quest to win the Wild Card playoff berth. With the Cardinals' playoff hopes looking much in doubt prior to the bottom of the ninth inning during their game on September 24, 2011 against arch-rival Chicago Cubs, Chambers was shown on the WGN television broadcast of the game taking it upon himself to encourage and excite the hometown fans to join him in cheering for the team prior to the start of the inning.[3] Incredibly, the Cardinals began to rally, and Chambers himself was then inserted into the game as a pinch-runner, where he proceeded to score the winning run during a wild pitch.[4] That down-to-the wire win was one of many that month that helped the Cardinals earn their playoff berth. On October 28, 2011 Adron Chambers was added to the St. Louis Cardinals World Series roster as an emergency replacement for the injured Matt Holliday before game 7 of the 2011 World Series against the Texas Rangers. After splitting time between St. Louis and the team's minor league system in 2012 and 2013, Chambers was out-righted off the Cardinals roster on November 5, 2013 and elected free agency. In 2013, he had four hits in 26 at bats with St. Louis. He was kept on the Cardinals active roster through the 2013 National League Divisional Series and the 2013 National League Championship Series. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/ernest-tate/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ernest-tate/support

On today's episode of Behind the Grind Show, we sit down with Adron Chambers - former professional baseball player, World Series champion, and coach/trainer for athletes. We were excited for many reasons to sit down with Adron, but the main reason is he's a great example of someone that never gave up on their dreams. We had the pleasure of talking to Adron about his upbringing, adversities he's faced throughout his journey, and what being from Pensacola means to him. In this episode, you'll learn how he is mastering his craft, and how he's applying the tools and tactics he learned in the MLB in his current career. We hope you enjoy our episode with Adron Chambers.Behind the Grind Show is located at Long Hollow Creatives (@longhollowcreatives) - a boutique co-working & co-op studio space located at 700 N Guillemard St.Behind the Grind Show is fueled by Tacos Mexicanos where they're serving real Mexican street food in East Hill.
