On this week's episode of Love University, we continue exploring the principle of Reversal and how paradoxical action can radically change the quality of your life. Instead of exhausting yourself by forcing outcomes, Reversal introduces a wiser approach. By changing how you relate to time, adversity, and even your own thoughts, you begin opening possibilities to better your life in a powerful way Here are three reversals that can transform your life: Get Your Time Back by Giving It Away Modern life teaches people to guard their time obsessively, yet rushing makes you feel emotionally depleted and disconnected. Reversal teaches that your experience of time expands when you invest it meaningfully in people and experiences you genuinely value. Sharing an unhurried conversation, spending relaxed time with family, helping others, or simply enjoying a quiet moment restores a sense of presence and spaciousness. Life begins to feel fuller, calmer, and more enjoyable. Be Grateful for the Bad as Well as the Good Painful experiences often contain life-changing lessons. Loss, disappointment, and hardship can deepen your appreciation for love, friendship, and the fragile beauty of life itself. When you begin looking for the meaning inside difficulties, your emotional perspective widens and your resilience grows stronger. Gratitude becomes more mature because it now includes both the joys of life and the wisdom gained through struggle. Remove Thoughts That Weaken You You may carry mental habits that quietly drain your energy. These include perfectionism, fear, and regret. Reversal teaches you to separate yourself from destructive patterns rather than automatically believing them. As you stop identifying with fearful or self-critical thoughts, your mind becomes steadier, and your confidence more grounded. Over time, you begin experiencing a freer and stronger version of yourself. Paradoxical action can help you reverse frustration and overcome mental self-sabotage. Start today. What if the secret to your success was to do the opposite of what you've been doing? On this week's episode of Love University, we introduce a powerful principle called Reversal, a complete turnaround of your old patterns to produce superior results in your relationships, finances, career, and personal life. When effort alone is not making things better, you need a complete transformation of the way you've been doing things, a reversal of your usual habits and behaviors. Here are three ways to apply this practice to your daily life: Make Friends with What You Reject You may have spent years pushing away parts of yourself you believed were weaknesses, without realizing those same traits carry hidden strengths. A short attention span can indicate quick energy and the ability to move efficiently between tasks.  A strong desire for approval can show a natural ability to connect with others and build relationships. As you redefine these traits, you stop working against yourself and begin using your natural tendencies in more productive ways, creating ease and effectiveness in your daily life. Turn Fear into Forward Movement Fear has a way of keeping you mentally frozen by focusing your attention on what could go wrong. Instead of waiting for fear to disappear, consider how you would act if you trusted your ability to handle the situation. Then act like that. Now your focus moves toward progress, and each step builds confidence. Over time, you rely less on how you feel in the moment and more on your ability to act despite the fear. This emboldens you and lets your joy soar.   Give Yourself Space Instead of Pressure When you constantly push yourself without pause, your energy begins to decline and your thinking becomes less clear. This leads to frustration and reduced effectiveness. By giving yourself space to step back, rest, and reset, you have better focus and stronger performance. Returning with renewed energy allows you to feel good about yourself and enjoy what you're doing.  With increased contentment and internal balance, your results will be successful and your satisfaction will rise.    In the end, reversal is about taking pressure off yourself and changing your stuck momentum into forward progress. The paradox of life is that by redirecting your energies toward your loving growth, you create the conditions for outer excellence. Step into the power of Invincible You and you will achieve your greatest dreams. For more self-wisdom, make sure you pick up a copy of Invincible You on Amazon at https://tinyurl.com/3y3szh27

2 Corinthians 11:16-33 - Speaker: Lukus Counterman - In 2 Corinthians 10-13, Paul zeros in on the false teachers that were poisoning the church and he directly confronts them. He calls them “pseudo-apostles” and says that they teach another Jesus, another Spirit, and another gospel. Part of his address to the church at Corinth, is helping them see the difference between the servants of Satan and the servants of Christ. Paul was not like these fakes. And one of the distinguishing features was the way they boasted. The false teachers boasted in their pedigree, their rhetorical prowess, their power and domineering control over the church. Paul on the other hand, boasted in weakness. What we'll learn from our text is that true servants of Christ boast in weakness not strength.

In this episode, Jo-Ann Berry (Special Educator) and Dr. Candida Fink (Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist) explore the science and clinical use of two prominent mental health treatments: SSRIs and Ketamine. They break down how these medications work, their common side effects, and the importance of professional medical supervision—especially for adolescents in a school setting.Key Points & TakeawaysSSRIs (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors)Mechanism: SSRIs work in the synapses between brain cells, blocking the "vacuum cleaner" (transporter) that reabsorbs serotonin into the first cell, making more serotonin available for the receptors in the second cell. Not Instant: These medications are not a "quick fix." It can take several weeks to a few months to see their full effect.Gradual Dosing: Treatment typically begins with a low dose and is gradually increased, which adds to the time before benefits are felt.KetamineBackground: Originally approved as a general anesthetic and for pain management, it has been found effective for treatment-resistant depression in adults.Rapid Response: Unlike SSRIs, intravenous ketamine can produce a very rapid antidepressant response.Supervised Use: Ketamine and its nasal spray version, Esketamine, must be administered in specialized clinical settings where patients can be monitored for several hours.Practical Tips & Side EffectsCommon SSRI Side Effects: Early, temporary side effects can include nausea, diarrhea, headache, tiredness, or lightened sleep. The "Paradoxical Reaction": In young people, there is a small risk of feeling worse (increased anxiety or irritability) when starting SSRIs, which requires close monitoring.Patience and Communication: It is vital for patients and caregivers to maintain frequent communication with their prescribing doctor and inform school nurses of any new medication.Never Stop Suddenly: Patients should never stop taking SSRIs abruptly without medical supervision due to the risk of withdrawal.ResourcesWebsite: mentalhealthgoestoschool.comUpcoming Topic: Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) as another intervention for treatment-resistant depression.AACAP (American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry) Medication GuidesStudy regarding ketamine treatment for depression in youth ages 18-25Connect With UsLike, Follow, and Review: Please interact with us on your favorite podcast platform or our website to suggest topics or ask questions.Timeline & Timestamps[00:00] – Introduction and the New York heatwave.[01:40] – Defining SSRIs and how they function in the brain's synapses.[04:15] – Why SSRIs take time to work and the importance of patient patience.[06:20] – Common and temporary side effects of starting SSRIs.[07:45] – More serious risks: Paradoxical reactions and suicidal ideation in young people.[12:35] – Addressing the stigma and misconceptions about mental health medication.[15:15] – Introduction to Ketamine: From anesthesia to treatment-resistant depression.[18:40] – The rapid effect of Ketamine vs. SSRIs.[21:10] – Side effects of Ketamine, including dissociation.[23:30] – The importance of school communication regarding student medication.[26:50] – Closing thoughts and teaser for a future episode on TMS.If you enjoy our content, please like and follow - and review if you can!

How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! 34  “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?” 35  “Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?” 36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen. 12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Tenderoni Hotline 25: Have you ever found yourself laughing when you're actually scared, suddenly exhausted in the middle of anxiety, or walking away from a moment thinking you're “fine” only to realize hours later that you were anything but? In this Tenderoni Hotline episode, we're diving into those paradoxical nervous system moments, the ones that feel confusing, mistimed, or just plain off, and unpacking what's really happening beneath the surface.Because here's what I need you to know. You're not broken, dramatic, or bad at emotions. You're adaptive as hell. Your nervous system is running deeply intelligent, well-practiced protective patterns shaped by your lived experiences, your conditioning, and the environments you've had to navigate. And sometimes, those patterns show up as laughter instead of fear, shutdown instead of anxiety, or total emotional fuzz when you most want clarity. In this episode, I'm answering rich, layered questions from my clients inside Anchored and the Somatic Studio, giving you a real, behind-the-scenes taste of what it looks like to live this work, not just intellectualize it. We explore why your nervous system can hold multiple states at once, why emotional awareness often comes after the moment instead of during it, and how your brain and body prioritize survival over neat, tidy self-understanding in real time. We also get into practical, body-based ways to gently build your capacity to notice, name, and work with your emotions as they arise, without judgment, without force, and without trying to override your system. And for my ADHD loves or anyone who's ever been told they're “doing mindfulness wrong” because they can't sit still, we're lovingly dismantling that nonsense too. Stillness is not the gold standard for presence. Movement, fidgeting, doodling, pacing, these can be the very things that create presence in a neurodivergent body. You're not failing the practice. You've just been handed a framework that was never built for you. This episode is both a deep exhale and a powerful reframe. It is an invitation to get curious about your patterns instead of criticizing them, and to remember that your reactions are not random, they're rooted in protection. And if there's a part of you that's been wanting support but also holding back, questioning whether you deserve it or whether now is the time, consider this your gentle nudge to feel into what it might be like to be held inside this work, to have your questions answered, and to not do this alone. So take this with you on your walk, while you're doing the dishes, or while you're moving your body in whatever way helps you feel most here, because you get to learn, grow, and come home to yourself in ways that actually honor your nervous system.Got a question for the Tenderoni Hotline? Failing Forward | Cody McQueen--Jesus explains the paradox of losing one's life for the sake of finding it as we follow him.--Notes

Evangel Church in Tallahassee Florida - Pastor Teryl Todd - Sermons Teaching Preaching Inspiration Help and Hope - Assemblies

In 1991, McDonald's launched the "McLean"—a healthy burger that people said they wanted, but no one actually bought. This phenomenon, known by psychologists as the "intention-action gap," doesn't just apply to fast food; it is the primary reason many Christians feel distant from God. In this opening message of the relationSHIFT series, Ryan Kramer explores James Chapter 4 to diagnose the root cause of spiritual drift. Using the powerful imagery of a campfire, he explains that God never moves away from us; we simply step back until the cold makes us numb. If you are tired of a casual faith and ready to reignite your relationship with God, this message offers the practical path back to the heat of His presence. -- The "Intention-Action Gap" explains why we often fail to do what we know is good for us, creating a disconnect between our beliefs and our daily lives. -- James Chapter 4 serves as a wake-up call to believers who have developed a casual faith, highlighting how unchecked desires create conflict and distance from God. -- Spiritual drift is rarely caused by a sudden rejection of God; instead, it is a slow accumulation of small steps away from Him caused by the busyness of life. -- God is like a fire: He does not change or move. Our experience of His warmth is entirely dependent on our proximity to Him. -- "Paradoxical heat sensation" is a physical condition where freezing to death feels like burning up; similarly, spiritual drift eventually numbs us to the reality of our distance from God. -- The solution to a cold spiritual life isn't a massive overhaul, but a single intentional step back toward the fire. In this rich and wide-ranging conversation, Ali sits down with yoga teacher, author, and anatomy educator Rachel Scott to explore what it truly means to live as a body – not just to have one.Beginning with a candid inquiry into modern yoga culture, Rachel gently peels back the layers of Western commodification to reveal yoga's deeper purpose: presence, self-regulation, and intimacy with the living intelligence beneath our habits and conditioning. From there, the dialogue opens into a profound exploration of embodiment as a spiritual practice – one that includes sensation, relationship, desire, stillness, and paradox.Drawing on decades of practice, Rachel shares how yoga, anatomy study, and contemplative stillness have shaped her understanding of consciousness, love, and human connection. Together, Ali and Rachel reflect on mindfulness versus “body-fulness,” nervous-system awareness in dating and relationships, and the wisdom of listening to the body's cues around safety, timing, and consent. The conversation also moves tenderly into themes rarely spoken aloud: fertility, choice, grief, freedom, and the many ways maternal love can be expressed beyond childbirth. Rachel speaks openly about her journey through wanting children, confronting ambivalence, and ultimately trusting the larger intelligence of life – an experience that reshaped her relationships, her work, and her sense of self.Weaving together yoga philosophy, Tantra, anatomy lab awe, and everyday relational practice, this episode is an invitation to slow down, feel more, and honor the mystery of being embodied. A heartfelt exploration of love, presence, and the courage it takes to listen deeply to the body's quiet truths.FOR MORE ALI MEZEY:ALI - WebsiteALI - LinkTreeALI BIO: Ali Mezey is a Body Therapist, Family Constellation Work Facilitator, Sexologist and Media Maker with over 40 years of experience. 2/8. Pigeons: The Great Communicators and Wartime Heroes — Steven Moss — Moss discusses the humble pigeon as a paradoxical feral bird species possessing extraordinary homing capabilities that made it invaluable as a communications mechanism. Although the famous narrative of Nathan Rothschild using pigeons following the Battle of Waterloo is apocryphal, pigeons were genuinely crucial wartime messengers. Moss emphasizes that pigeons were essential during the D-Day invasion due to radio silence protocols, and the celebrated pigeon Cher Ami saved imperiled soldiers during World War I. Moss notes that British forces even systematically killed Peregrine Falcons to protect pigeon communications, inadvertently contributing to the species' subsequent endangerment and near-extinction. 1869

As COP30 approaches, what is the real state of EU–China climate relations? In this episode of The Sound of Economics, Yuyun Zhan sits down with Alicia García-Herrero and Cecilia Trasi to explore the state of EU–China climate relations. The discussion explores how both economies share a vision for a green transition but follow strikingly different paths—China prioritising industrial policy and green technology exports, the EU focusing on costly emission pricing and regulation. They also identify pragmatic areas of collaboration like common taxonomies for green finance or joint circular-economy initiatives. They also reflect on whether either side can lead the global climate agenda in a fragmented geopolitical landscape. Relevant research Trasi, C. OverviewRyan and Brian launch a fresh series on the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5–7), Jesus' iconic teaching on kingdom living. Often quoted but rarely lived out, it calls for radical repentance (metanoia: heart/mind shift to action) and distinctiveness from "hypocrites" and "pagans" (e.g., no showy prayers or fasting in Matt. 6:5–8, 16). They cover intro context, Jesus' authority, and the first four Beatitudes as a Godward progression.Key Discussion HighlightsSermon Essentials: Full red-letter discourse (ch. 5–7); contrasts John's back-and-forth dialogues and Luke's Sermon on the Plain. Likely Matthew's memorable summary—not verbatim—but stresses doing over hearing (Matt. 7:24–29: wise builder on rock vs. fool on sand). Crowds follow post-sermon, amazed by Jesus' authority (7:28–29).Setting & Echoes: Jesus ascends mountainside amid crowds, evoking Moses at Sinai (law mediated) but speaking directly as living Word—no barriers. Ties to OT: distinct people (e.g., no pagan practices like raisin cakes).Kingdom Ethics: Draws from law (from above), prophets (future hope), wisdom (human observation). Frames as loving God/neighbor (Matt. 22:34–40). First four Beatitudes focus on God-relationship; latter four on others. Quotes: John Stott (familiar yet least obeyed); Stanley Hauerwas (new age realized now).Beatitudes Breakdown (Matt. 5:3–6): Paradoxical "blessed" (makarioi: flourishing in God's favor, not mere happiness). Describes kingdom citizens' traits—calling all to repent toward these:Poor in spirit (v. 3): Recognizing spiritual poverty/utter dependence on God (vs. wealth as "blessing" in culture; cf. Luke 6:20's "poor"). Promise: Theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Those who mourn (v. 4): Grief over personal sin/failure (e.g., tax collector's humility in Luke 18:9–14 vs. Pharisee's self-righteousness). Promise: They will be comforted. The meek (v. 5): Humility/gentleness (praus: not weakness, but not self-important—like Jesus in Phil. 2 or silent before accusers). Contrasts Roman power. Promise: They will inherit the earth. (Martyn Lloyd-Jones: true self-view expressed humbly.)Hunger/thirst for righteousness (v. 6): Deep craving for justice/rightness (like desert thirst satisfied). Promise: They will be filled.Progression: Spiritual poverty → mourning sin → meek approach → desiring God's righteousness.Resources MentionedBooks: The Message of the Sermon on the Mount by John Stott; Sermon on the Mount (Story of God Commentary) by Scot McKnight (narrative flow, ethical models).Key Verses: Matt. 5:1–2; 6:5–8,16; 7:24–29; 22:34–40; Luke 18:9–14 (Pharisee/tax collector).Next EpisodeBeatitudes 5–8: Mercy, pure in heart, peacemakers, persecuted—shifting to loving others as kingdom ambassadors.

Rewriting Subconscious Code with Paradoxical Heka: Breath, Sound & Sovereignty with Reginald Martin

On Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik Chakraborty sits down with Reginald Martin, creator of Kametaphysics, to unpack how “inherited code”—religion, culture, family scripts—quietly shapes our choices long after we think we've moved on. Reginald introduces Paradoxical Heka, a practical, Kemetic-inspired method using breath, voice, and ritual phrasing to hold two truths at once (e.g., “Even though fear is here, I am sustained”) until a calmer third state emerges. We cover identity after deconstruction, spotting “word-salad spirituality,” and how to test spiritual tools for real-world usefulness. Clear, direct, and immediately applicable for high performers, parents, therapists, and coaches.     About the guest  : Reginald Martin is the spiritual architect behind Kametaphysics, a sovereignty-first framework reconnecting modern coaching/therapy to ancient symbolic roots. His protocol, Paradoxical Heka, helps transmute guilt, shame, fear, and self-doubt while affirming the authentic self. He publishes on Substack at reginaldmartin.substack.com.   Key takeaways: Inherited code persists: you can exit a system yet still follow its rules; name the pattern before the story to regain leverage. Paradox > contradiction: hold “this and that” (fear and support) rather than fighting your “shadow.” 90-second practice: pair breath and a paradox phrase; repeat ~9 times to entrain a calmer nervous system state. Evidence of integration: look for a felt peace, goosebumps/energy shifts, and cleaner choices in tough moments. Ditch vague advice: “just surrender” isn't helpful without a concrete method—test ideas for practicality. Leaders & parents: swap “I'm broken/unworthy” for “I'm out of alignment,” then realign with simple, repeatable steps. Symbolism matters: the caduceus metaphor reflects reconciling inner polarities rather than waging inner war. Apply this week: run Hecca before a difficult call or boundary and note shifts in tone, tension, and outcomes.   Connect with the guest   Substack: https://reginaldmartin.substack.com/ Free resource: 7-point checklist to spot “woo-woo” claims (available on his Substack)   Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life?
