The last month and a half have been huge for that galaxy far, far away. The Bad Batch ended, Tales of the Empire came out on Star Wars Day, I spent several hours at Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland, The Acolyte had its red carpet premiere (which our guest attended), and a new High Republic novel was released! What a ride it has been! Joining me to discuss our adventures in Star Wars is the Avar Kriss of the fandom herself, Becca Benjamin from the Tarkin's Top Shelf and Kanata's Castle podcasts. Join me; it is your destiny! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pageturnerstheywerenot/message
This review is coming a day late because I needed extra time to process this amazing and incredibly morally complex episode of The Acolyte. This new series continues to be surprising and subversive and unpredictable, and boy do I have some thoughts on this particular installment of the show. Join me as I share some rambling thoughts on a deeply thought-provoking episode! With special shout-outs to my good friends Becca Benjamin and Eleanor Mueller. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pageturnerstheywerenot/message
A Star Wars insert podcast series that asks more questions than it answers - this time between Star Wars shows. Today on Hot Stove Breakfast pack #66 - We are asking questions on the Bad Batch Season 3 trailer, released last week. Joining me for this Disney+ Star Wars offseason chat is once again my co-host and card squadron winger Gregory Cass from eyeoncanon.com. So if you are joining us for the first time like Jonesy, This is an insert series podcast in the regular feed where Greg, and I will trade questions to each other that we have not talked about before - which means there is a chance like fantasy draft to swipe that choice from another member of the panel, so you better have some spares, or just a cooky theory. And I will remind anyone, if you haven't seen the trailer for Bad Batch, this is a warning that there will be spoilers for this show. If you haven't watched yet, we all invite you to please come back and listen after you've watched. Live from the Fan Stage at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim, join Ryder Waldron, Mark Sutter, Becca Benjamin and Anne Convery as they discuss Ahsoka Tano! Ahsoka Tano has become a beloved Star Wars character as her story has spanned The Clone Wars, Rebels, the Ahsoka novel, comics, The Mandalorian, and the Ahsoka series. But why has she become such an inspirational fan favorite? Should she have walked away from the Jedi Order? And how did leaving the Jedi Order affect her future? We will also discuss our favorite Ahsoka moments, our favorite aspects of her character growth, and did she become the purest example of a Jedi only after leaving the Order? **This is a live recording so the audio is not perfect.**

I chat with Becca about Star Wars
Welcome to episode 65 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: The Novel Bracket Part II. On this episode, Dennis, Jay, and Darth Taxus conclude the quest to determine the best Star Wars novel of the new canon. As usual, there is some news to get to first. The Future of Star Wars in the News Current Star Wars concerns the future of Star Wars on the big screen and the organizational structure at Lucasfilm. Bob Iger commented on the frequency of the release of Star Wars films and Kathleen Kennedy signed a new deal to remain the President of Lucasfilm. Next, Jon Favreau finally released the name and a brief synopsis of his live action Star Wars television show and the Scoundrels react. Plus, there is news about Vader Immortal and a producing legend passes away. Hyperthetical - The Novel Bracket Part II After the news, the Scoundrels begin part II of their discussion to determine the best novel of the new Star Wars canon. If you haven't heard Part I, we recommend checking that out first. This episodes begins with round two and ends with the naming of a champion. Returning for the discussion are Jay Shepard from Jedi Journals, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Case Files, Green Justice, and Scarlet Velocity, and Becca Benjamin from Kanata's Castle and Tarkin's Top Shelf. Silence Fools! As every episode does, episode 65 ends with "Silence Fools!" In this edition, Dennis, Jay, and Taxus react to an iTunes review and then discuss the results of the last Twitter poll. Afterwards, they propose a new poll about what new Star Wars content they are most excited to see. Thanks for tuning into episode 65 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: The Novel Bracket Part II. Social Media and More Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels is a bi-weekly show that features three first-generation Star Wars fans. Each episode, RetroZappers Dennis Keithly, Jay Krebs, and Darth Taxus offer their hot space opinions on Star Wars news. Then, they engage in Star Wars discussion in the "Hyperthetical" segment. Top ten lists, book reviews, Rebels discussion, and interviews are all on the table. After the Hyperthetical, each episode features listener feedback with Silence Fools! Dennis Keithly can be followed @DJKver2, Darth Taxus is @DarthTaxus, and Jay Krebs is @JoyceKrebs. SCubedPod thrives on listener feedback. Therefore, Dennis, Taxus, and Jay would love to read your email on the show. To reach them, email the show at SCubedPod@RetroZap.com. For instance, have an opinion on Star Wars comics, Rebels, or the comics? We want to hear it. Also, have a question about some Star Wars detail? Send it to us! It doesn't have to be Star Wars. Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels T-Shirts can be purchased here. Finally, Dennis, Taxus, and Jay would appreciate an iTunes review for the show. Thank you.
Welcome to episode 64 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: The Novel Bracket Part I. On this episode, Dennis, Jay, and Darth Taxus are out to determine the best Star Wars novel of the new canon. As usual, there is some news to get to first. Star Wars Celebration Chicago News and Honors The latest Star Wars news begins with a discussion of announcements concerning the hosts of Star Wars Celebration Chicago. Next, the news turns to a groundbreaking honor for Kathleen Kennedy. This show was recorded prior to the latest information from Bob Iger on the future of Star Wars films, and that will be covered in episode 65. Hyperthetical - The Novel Bracket Part I After the news, the Scoundrels dive into this week's "Hyperthetical." Since Lucasfilm reset the Star Wars canon prior to the release of The Force Awakens, a couple dozen novels have graced the shelves of bookstores that enhance, define, and compliment the Star Wars universe. Some, naturally, are better than others. The Scoundrels are out to determine which one is the best. Therefore, they have created a Star Wars novel bracket and are conducting a single elimination vote to determine which book is the best. Joining them for the discussion is Jay Shepard from Jedi Journals, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Case Files, Green Justice, and Scarlet Velocity, and Becca Benjamin from Kanata's Castle and Tarkin's Top Shelf. This is the first half of the discussion, and the Scoundrels get through the first 18 match-ups. Silence Fools! As every episode does, episode 64 ends with "Silence Fools!"
