Join America's Roundtable (https://americasrt.com/) radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with Marc Lotter, Former Special Assistant to President Donald J. Trump and Chief Communications Officer at America First Policy Institute. Marc Lotter is from Fort Wayne, Indiana, and serves as the Chief Communications Officer at America First Policy Institute (AFPI). Previously, Marc served as Director of Strategic Communications for the Trump-Pence 2020 campaign. He also was a Special Assistant to the President and Press Secretary to Vice President Mike Pence during most of the first year of the Trump Administration. Prior to joining the administration, he served as Press Secretary to the Vice President during the 2016 presidential campaign and transition. In those roles, Lotter regularly appeared on national and cable news outlets including Fox News Channel, MSNBC, CNN and programs such as: ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos, CNN's State of the Union with Jake Tapper, MSNBC's Meet the Press Daily with Chuck Todd and Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace. Before entering public service, Lotter spent 13 years as a producer and manager for television stations across the country. During Lotter's career in local television news, his work received two Emmy awards and was recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists for the “Best Newscast” in Indiana. Our conversation focuses on: America's economy as inflationary prices persist with high interest rates. AP reported: "Mortgage rates, credit card rates, auto loan rates, and business loans with variable rates will all likely maintain their highs, with consequences for consumer spending, after the Federal Reserve indicated Wednesday that it doesn't plan to cut interest rates until it has “greater confidence” that price increases at the consumer level are slowing to its 2% target. The central bank kept its key rate at a two-decade high of roughly 5.3%, where it has been since last August.” Illegal immigration impacting cities and local communities — will America's citizens and leaders address this crisis? President Joe Biden's policy on Israel. The Biden administration's decision to block the transfer of congressionally approved military aid to the Jewish state presents greater risks. Critics voice concerns that Biden's policy will embolden Israel's enemies in the region, notably Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism. Speaker Mike Johnson held a high-profile press conference unveiling the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act alongside the bill's leaders in the House and Senate, Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, and Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah. According to Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and co-sponsor of the SAVE act: "Current law makes it illegal for non-citizens to vote in federal elections, but it does not require states to obtain documentary proof of U.S. citizenship before an individual registers to vote. The SAVE Act would amend the National Voter Registration Act to clarify that states must require proof of citizenship when registering individuals to vote in federal elections." On November 4, 2022, I finished an 18-year run as an anchor and reporter at WCBS Newsradio. You can read more about my time at WCBS at: https://www.wallstreetnorth.com/2022/11/my-last-day-at-wcbs/ I am pleased to present here one of the highlights of my years with WCBS -- the 2021 Edward R. Murrow Award winning Best Newscast from The Radio Television Digital News Association in Region 11 (New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania). I was privileged to co-anchor this newscast, which was a true team effort. Looking back on this broadcast from March 3, 2020, it's clear that we've come a long way since then. That day we reported on New York's second confirmed case of coronavirus, in a lawyer from New Rochelle, NY. We reported that his family was self-quarantining, a new concept to all of us at that time. The U.S. death toll from the virus stood at 9 people. Dr. Anthony Fauci warned that a coronavirus vaccine would be months away. The Dow would fall 786 points that day as the Fed cut interest rates 50 basis points to help the economy in the looming health crisis. More than 1,300 Democratic delegates were at stake on that Super Tuesday, which would be the day that Joe Biden scored dramatic primary victories on his way to the presidential nomination.

Linda co-anchored live flood coverage for 10 hours on that first day keeping viewers up to date on the significant event. Linda was also host and producer of Global's Woman of Vision series from its inception in Calgary in 1998. For 15 years, she highlighted the stories of inspirational women in the community with monthly television news features and a column in the Calgary Herald.
