In this week's bonus episode, we pay tribute to Coronation Street legend Dennis Tanner, following the sad news of actor Philip Lowrie's recent passing. We look back at Lowrie's remarkable life and career, and reflect on the character he so memorably brought to life as part of Corrie's original line-up in Episode 1. From his beginnings as the Street's original bad boy to his record-breaking return after 43 years away, we revisit Dennis's most iconic moments and discuss how he became one of our all-time favourite characters.

Episode 12 - Doctor Makere Stewart Harawira speaks on Environmental Personhood What - The "environmental personhood", or legal personhood, movement is a result of successive governments around the world failing to adequately protect the environment, as well as to the growing recognition of Indigenous Peoples' rights and Indigenous legal concepts (Lowrie, 2021; Westerman, 2019). The movement acknowledges that environmental personhood exceeds the value to humanity. It is not that the people have a right to clean air, but that the air has a right to be clean (Parish, 2021). Rivers have become a central focus in the Rights of Nature movement. Who - In episode 12 we hear from Makere Stewart-Harawira, a Professor in Indigenous, Environmental, and Global Studies in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities, Faculty of Education, University of Alberta. Her research focus: is climate change, freshwater governance, Indigenous knowledge systems, ethics and values in relation to integrative approaches to ecosystem and human-more-than- human wellbeing, multi species justice and planetary stewardship. Dr. Stewart-Harawira is an Expert Member on a number of Commissions for the International Union for the Conservation including the Commission on Ecosystem Management, joint Specialist Group on Indigenous Peoples, Customary & Environmental Laws and Human Rights and is a National Board Member for Keepers of the Water, Canada. Sadly, I have no pictures to show but some good news to share I've been researching my family history and can proudly say that I've been finding lots of Irish, Scottish and even Welsh ancestry. I have no problem sharing the names -  - Moon, Dunseath, Lowrie, Thomson, Dunn, etc. So your show helps me connect, in a way, to family long lost physically but coming to me in a spiritual and emotional way. Thanks and keep up the great work! " John Thompson wrote about episode #581: "Hey Marc, Just listened to the Irish & Celtic Music podcast episode 581 and I had a question. One of the last tracks was by Bren Holmes  -  -  a song called SOS. This is a cover song originally written and performed by the Swedish pop group ABBA around 1975 (yeah, I'm that old). I thought you had a policy about not playing covers as they're not "pod safe". It's a great song and I've heard MANY great covers performed at various festivals by various bands. It would be fantastic if you could play more but don't want you to get into any kind of trouble. I'm not quite sure how that works. If you could explain it briefly for your listeners maybe it would clear up the confusion." George Mears emailed: "Marc, I've been a listener since the early days and a patron for several years. The podcast has been my companion for road trips, yard work, construction projects, and career changes; also raising two sons and all the changes 17 years brings. I've written a few times, including in 2018 when my sister and I had our own Celtic Invasion of Scotland after the death of our parents, which you shared with my fellow listeners, thank you. I took a deep stroll through the podcast archive recently, going back to selected episodes through the years. While the music has always been wonderful, it was insightful to hear the difference in your voice, energy, and personal topics from those days. Your podcast has been a shared experience for we, the listeners. Thank you for the virtual weekly meet - up that has brought so much joy. I'll be among your patrons for the next 17 years. Slainte!"

We all know Prince, or so I hope. He is an artist that many have a love/hate relationship with due to him being an artist that might have not been easy to understand. However, no one can deny the genius he was as a musician! And that is what Rebecca and myself cover a lot in today's episode, and much more! Here's little bit about Rebecca: Rebecca Lowrie is a Somatic Sex Therapist and expert in men's sexuality. She has played and worked in the realms of self-awareness and personal/spiritual development for over 25 years, the last 15 of which have been specifically focused on awakening men to their true erotic nature. She is an author, podcast host, and the creator of The Sexual Mastery Activation Cards for Men and The Sexual Alchemy Journal for Men. During this episode we cover: · Why Prince is THE artist that evoked her own sexuality · The advice he might have given her if she met him in real life · Examples of the genius he was as a musician · Time where he played a more specific role in her life · Her take on his life and the saint/sinner analogy · Why she thinks he is empowering women Connect with Rebecca Website: sexualalchemy.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/rebecca.lowrie1 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/s_xualalchemy/ TikTok: @sexualalchemy LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rebeccalowrie/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/rebeccalowrie Check out Rebecca's Online Summit: The Festival of Sexuality Full Replay is available here. On this episode of The Marketer's Journey, I interview Allison Lowrie, CMO at Vacasa, an international vacation rental management company based in Portland, Oregon. Having also previously held roles at Angi, HomeAdvisor and Cars.com, Allison shares her perspective on navigating marketing leadership, building a solid team and the challenges of two-sided marketplaces.Check out this and other episodes of The Marketer's Journey on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, and Google Play! Key takeaways from this episode:Make it personal. In the home and car industry, every purchase is an inherently emotional one, so marketers are tasked with tapping into that emotional element to connect with buyers. This lesson can be applied to marketing in any industry because at the end of the day, every purchase involves an emotional element that can be leveraged to make a positive impact.Get in the right mindset. Another of Allison's tips involves diving deep into the mindset of the marketplace you're tapping into. She and the team at Vacasa engage in plenty of research and outreach to understand their customers' core thoughts, needs and desires, while remaining nimble and flexible so they can switch gears as needed.Focus on your NPS. At Vacasa, a key metric the team uses to track success is the NPS or net promoter score. The company tracks NPS across guests, owners and internal employees to get a sense of overall satisfaction of both customers and employees.Learn more about Vacasa here: https://www.vacasa.ca/ Learn more about Allison here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/allison-lowrie-51b0a21/

Welcome to the Sex With My Ex podcast! Your hosts are Kitty and Johnson, and we can't wait to dive head first into all of the delicious, intriguing, funny and fun things that are sex. Whoop!!Episode 10! Double digits on!We have an absolute POWERHOUSE guest on the show with us this week.Rebecca Lowrie is a true legend in the world of men's sexuality. She is a somatic sex therapist who has spent over 25 years working in the space of personal and spiritual wellness, the last 16 years specifically supporting men.She is an author, podcast host and is the creator of the Sexual Mastery Activation Cards for men and the Sexual Alchemy Journal for men. This week's “What's Hot and What's Not?” segment shares a glorious experience of vulva casting and an awful story Rebecca shares of a disastrous vulva casting experience.Johnson tells us all about his sump taking a dump…We ask Rebecca to share about her ever-evolving journey into and through sexual liberation and she takes us on an incredible journey through her life so far. She originally grew up in America where the conditioning in society very much subdued and shamed women's sexuality. For the first 2 decades of her sexual life she shares how she was always conscious of sexual energy but had inconsistent experiences that didn't offer her a strong and healthy relationship to her own sexuality.During her first marriage there were some confusing and failed attempts at non-monogamy due to lack of understanding and information on non-traditional exploration and desires. In her late 30's Rebecca came across a tantra workshop and it drastically changed the course of her life. At that point she felt her calling and recognised a space she needed to be in. It took a lot of working through resistance before making the step into study and then being mentored in a support role of tantra coaching for three years. Rebecca fully immersed herself and began learning more about neo-tantra, BDSM, and conscious kink. She then stepped fully into a role of working with sexuality and found that so much of this space holding came naturally and intuitively. There is SO much resonance, for Kitty, as Rebecca shares her journey. Kitty tells us all about the calling she had about a year ago to work in this space too and the fear she sat with in knowing her work was evolving into healing in the area of sexuality. To add into this Johnson reminds us of the absolute polarity of the life he used to live as the CEO of a Domestic Airline. It has been an absolute ride over the last 6 months and both Kitty and Johnson are excited about the new business they are currently creating together too.Johnson and Rebecca speak about the feeling of safety and familiarity within the wider sex-positive community. The Festival of Sexuality, hosted by Rebecca Lowrie, served as a pivotal point for Johnson in stepping through imposter syndrome.Rebecca gives us such a great, honest recount of the times of frustration she has had in the industry and the desires she has had to step away - but each time she has returned to the truth that this is her mission in life.Johnson, Kitty and Rebecca have a POTENT ASF discussion about the ways that our (particularly cis, hetro) men have been left behind by the sex-positive movement and let down by the system of patriarchy.Rebecca offers some powerful reflections from her 16 years of working with men and specific examples with clients who are navigating through the unhealthy expectations of this system of conditioning. The conversation offers some very crucial, deep unpacking.Rebecca tells us all about her gorgeous creations - The Sexual Mastery Activation Cards for men and the Sexual Alchemy Journal for men.CONNECT WITH REBECCAWebsiteInstagramTwitterFacebookTikTokSTUFF WE MENTIONEDRebecca's Shop - Get 10% off until 31st August 2022 by using the code SEXWITHMYEXPODCASTSexual Alchemy PodcastPleasure Activism: The Politics of Feeling Good by Adrienne Maree BrownCome and join our community of sex positive, eager to learn and beautiful listeners. But a few years ago it became very evident that my speciality, my zone of genius if you will, was working with men and helping them to explore, heal, expand and discover who they really are as sexual beings.” 5:52 What is sexual alchemy? 11:22 Rebecca's journey into men's sexuality “We kind of know intuitively that there's something very special about sexuality, but the men I work with, they can't quite get there. They haven't figured out what it is yet.” 18:00 Harry asks Rebecca about what she senses in him 24:17 Rebecca's views on healing, belief systems and a client case study “I believe there's a bigger picture that we can't see. That we are here having this human experience, but we aren't just human, or soul or spirit or intelligence, there's a bigger picture.” 26:46 A parable of being non-judgmental of human experiences 30:50 Rebecca shares the story of The Afterlife of Billy Fingers “I did a workshop of his a few years ago. He took, I am not kidding you, six hours to overlap every science known to man to prove that the universal definition of love is equal amounts of challenge and support. He said if you have too much support, you become juvenile and you can't grow and be in your life.” 33:53 Why pain is also an opportunity 38:38 Harry's candid thoughts and Rebecca's ideas on them 41:28 Where to find Rebecca 42:46 Closing If you enjoyed the show, be sure to share this episode and leave us a review wherever you listen to podcasts!
