Haydn Cobb and Kevin Turner join Bryn Lucas on the latest episode of the Autosport Q+A. This week, the trio discuss who will most likely succeed in the final three races of the 2024 season and if the sport can expect similar convergence to 2021's Championship fight between teams in the future. They also ponder whether Red Bull has a chance to reclaim second or even first in the Constructor's Championship. There are also discussions on whether the “free tyre change” rule under Red Flags needs to be changed after the Brazilian GP, concerns over the FIA's leadership after the departure of many of its staff, whether Greg Maffei stepping down as Liberty Media's CEO increases Andretti's chances of making the grid in the future, and Kevin is asked if Valtteri Bottas leaves F1 as the sport's “greatest teammate”. THIS IS BRAZIL!The last month has been a roller coaster when it comes to the Drivers and Constructors Championship. As rain, the great equalizer, became a certainty for the Brazilian GP, we found ourselves licking our chops at the battle we were sure to witness amongst the frontrunning teams. Instead, Max Verstappen displayed one of the greatest driving performances of all time. We discuss the odds that were stacked against him as well as what this does for his legacy. While Max found himself dancing in the rain, McLaren and driver Lando Norris put forward a performance that left much to be desired. In one race, their path to a Drivers championship was as good as done while the path to a Constructors title suddenly became perilous. All this while Alpine, a team often relegated to the bottom half of the field, found themselves rounding out the podium and bringing home a season's worth of points.Take a listen as we break down the race, the crashes, and the surrounding storylines of the 2024 Brazilian GP
This week we recap the rain heavy chaos that was the Brazilian Grand Prix. We also went very heavy on the beer/booze chat and we finish up with a little Christmas chat. Enjoy!

This was one of the great ones - one of the great races and certainly one of the great wins. From P17 on the grid Red Bull's Max Verstappen not only took the lead of the Brazilian GP with 26 wet laps still to run but also proceeded in setting fastest lap on 15 different occasions. Some will say that Max was massively helped today by a red flag "free" pit stop - an unpredictable intervention that came on the wrong side of the McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes strategies. One of the reasons, though, that Max stayed out when others stopped was because of the way he was using his Pirelli intermediates. His almost-perfect wear pattern was a testament to his driving on both fast corners and slow. He lost some grip with wear in that first phase; but, despite his numerous overtakes, he never lost the balance of the car. Alpine were strong from the start and undoubtedly did benefit from a "free" stop: Esteban Ocon finished an excellent second (from P4) and Pierre Gasly drove brilliantly from P13 on the grid to finish third. George Russell finished a titanic fourth after leading from the start in a Mercedes that Lewis Hamilton found virtually undriveable; Charles Leclerc was P5 in an equally-difficult Ferrari; and Lando Norris, after starting from the pole and winning the sprint race, finished only sixth. As a result of this astonishing win, Verstappen now has a 62 point lead in the FIA World Drivers' Championship with three races to go.With thanks to Jetcraft, the world's largest buyer and seller of executive jets:https://jetcraft.comTo OEM Exclusive, the passionate suppliers of OEM upgrades for exotic and high-performance vehiclesAnd to TrackNinja, a lap-timer and data app designed to help users improve their on-track car and driver performance through analysis and an innovative Data Garage. There was so much chaos in the Brazilian GP that we forgot there was a sprint race.
Despite a sprint win for Norris, Verstappen absolutely dominated the grand prix to swing the title back to his control and practically end any final title push Norris could muster. It's all but over. A statement made, a drive for the ages and Max now has 1 hand on the title. Fumbles galore, as Mclaren and Norris had it all in their laps, but couldn't get it done. Was it ever as on as we thought or a bridge too far. Alpine, the feel-good moment of the year, a joyous post-race, a podium worthy of a movie and two drivers who kept it clean when other couldn't. And the stewards. They divided fans all weekend. Is it time for a full-time role? We think yes, do you agree? All the plus much much more on this week's episode of BTRL.

In this episode we talk about the possible best race of the season - the Brazilian GP. We talk about the weather, the slip 'n' slides, the winners, the losers and of course, all the drama.
In conversation with Cameron, Peter looks back at the titanic Brazilian GP. There's lots of chat about the quality of Max's drive, about Lando's dismissal of the quality of Max's drive, about Lewis's weird-looking situation at Merc and about George Russell's perfect use of fifth gear just before the braking area into Turn 1, Lap 1. The usual scintillating chat, in other words. So order the coffees and pistachio buns (as per @twoshots, Andorra - one of the world's best cafés) and enjoy.
