Mark Slade, the title-winning Race Engineer at McLaren, Mercedes, Renault and Haas, chats to Peter about some of the key issues arising from the recent Mexican GP and also looks forward to the November 9 Brazilian GP at Interlagos. Mark won two Brazilian GPs with Mika Hakkinen and for a while - for a week or so - enjoyed a third win with Kimi Raikkonen (before victory was instead awarded to Jordan's Giancarlo Fisichella). A new leader has emerged, and it's Norris by 1 pt. Oh boy what a finish we have. Lando was untouchable and has taken the title lead by 1 point, and who would have thought, with 4 to go we are this close. Bearman fell tantalisingly short of a podium in his drive of the year, a rookie flying under the radar and a future big fish of the sport. And it was a close call for Marshall's and Lawson, a little bit more educating needed for some circuits. All the plus much much more on this week's episode of BTRL.

On the face of it, a Lando Norris/McLaren-Mercedes walkover - and a straightforward race - seemed inevitable. In reality, the 2025 Mexican GP was anything but. It produced stunning drives not only from Lando but also from Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc and Oliver Bearman. It included a dramatically-spectacular first corner melée. And it created, one-on-one, a Max-versus-Charles, Red Bull-versus-Ferrari, soft Pirelli-versus-Hard Pirelli closing battle for P2 that...ended in a VSC. It had almost everything, in other words - as Peter Windsor describes in this podcast. The action begins on Friday, continues with a special Mark Slade interview after free practice and Saturday and concludes with the race on Sunday. With thanks to Jetcraft, the world's largest buyer and seller of executive jets:https://jetcraft.comTo OEM Exclusive, the passionate suppliers of OEM upgrades for exotic and high-performance vehiclesTo TrackNinja, a lap-timer and data app designed to help users improve their on-track car and driver performance through analysis and an innovative Data Garage. A fantastic Mexican GP that was gripping from beginning to finish that saw Lando Norris have one of the best weekends he`s had in his F1 carrier. From scoring pole to a dominating win, to take the lead in the championship from the first time ! Good performance from Ferrari and Charles, an unfortunate 10sec penalty derailed Hamilton who also was having a good weekend until then. An absolutely fantastic race from Bearman from Hass to finish a team history best 4th position, he had a fantastic race!

There is much to consider after Austin - so there are views aplenty on the Big One: can the brilliant Max Verstappen achieve the almost-impossible and win the 2025 world title? Following his clean sweep in Texas, that question is more than hypothetical. Also, how is Zak's McLaren Masterplan panning-out? And, following their aggressive showing in Texas, can Ferrari be truly competitive in the thin air of Mexico this weekend? As a special bonus, this livestream also includes an in-depth chat with Mark Slade, the title-winning F1 Race Engineer.
