There is much to consider after Austin - so there are views aplenty on the Big One: can the brilliant Max Verstappen achieve the almost-impossible and win the 2025 world title? Following his clean sweep in Texas, that question is more than hypothetical. Also, how is Zak's McLaren Masterplan panning-out? And, following their aggressive showing in Texas, can Ferrari be truly competitive in the thin air of Mexico this weekend? As a special bonus, this livestream also includes an in-depth chat with Mark Slade, the title-winning F1 Race Engineer. Mark looks back at the events of Austin, ahead to Mexico - and shares plenty of stories about both events. In this episode: Max's controversial tactics! Track limits chaos!
It was the race when McLaren's Lando Norris closed the gap a little to the championship leader - Red Bull's Max Verstappen. It was the race when Max, for his part, incurred two ten second penalties for his over-zealous driving. It was the race when Norris beautifully beat Ferrari's Charles Leclerc in the closing stages. And it was, withal, the race in which Ferrari's Carlos Sainz started from the pole and basically dominated throughout. His was a classic, classy win - a faultless win in which he even had the perspicacity, on the opening lap, to relinquish the lead to Max after effectively passing him off-track. No matter. Carlos ten minutes later made the clean pass going into Turn One. From then on, his was a race of defence - initially against Max, then against his team-mate, Leclerc, and then, finally, against a fast-closing Norris. Under pressure, Sainz made no mistakes. Which is all the more astonishing given that Ferrari will shortly be dumping Sainz in favour of Sir Lewis Hamilton. No front-line driver in the history of the sport, as Peter says in this podcast, has had to endure that sort of abandonment - not throughout the season long, not when they are still capable of upstaging the other driver AND winning races.Enjoy Peter's podcast, then - from the beginning of untimed practice on Friday, when both Leclerc and Norris were obliged to vacate their seats for newer drivers, to the dramatic, closing moments of a famous Sainz victory. Welcome to our motorsports podcast where we discuss F1, IndyCar, IMSA, NASCAR, our own racing adventures, and some other adventures!NASCAR visited Homestead for the second race of the Round of 8 where the playoff standings got shuffled a bit as Larson has a bad race where he now needs to have a good race at Martinsville this upcoming weekend to get himself into the Championship 4. Tyler Reddick took the win at Homestead to lock himself into the Championship 4.Formula One went to Mexico City where Carlos Sainz won the Mexican GP as Max Verstappen entangles himself in some "controversy" that we discuss in detail. Ferrari moves ahead in the constructors championship to 2nd place surpassing Red Bull and is within a reach of 1st that McLaren currently holds. The MX-5 Cup had its inaugural Martinsville race, an exhibition event, that saw Jared Thomas take home $25,000 and a Martinsville clock at the end of the 105-lap exhibition race. A very exciting ending too with everyone leaning on one another and using the bumpers effectively.Coming up this weekend: NASCAR is at Martinsville, F1 is in Brazil, and WEC is at Bahrain for its season finale.
Teammate battles, penalties and safety cars - the Mexican Grand Prix had a bit of everything. Haydon and James break down all the major talking points including; Max's penalty, Perez/Lawson clash and what is the plural of Haas?
This week Barista Josh Racing joins the show to recap the Mexican GP. In typical Track Talk fashion, the race recap goes from qualifying to the last lap of the race... and then the rest is filled in. Did Max deserve the penalties he received? Was Liam wrong to give Checo the finger? Will there ever be another chapter of 'The Ferrari Rivalry for Love'? You'll have to listen to find out! Oh and happy birthday Lance StrollAs always, follow us @tracktalk.pod on Instagram xoxo

2 of 3 in the Merica' triple header and boy oh boy were the elbows out. A Sainz win was one to savour as Norris too a big chunk of points to close the title race again. What a load of bull! Fans and driver were left seething after Redbull got their elbows out, first Max, then Perez. A revised FIA interpretation and with a total of 20sec in penalties saw Max finish mid pack of the top 10. But is this the racing we want or did Rebull overstep the mark. Last week Lawson was the toast of the town but the boys showed his mean streak. A meeting with Horner and a slap on the wrist had many asking, was this the right call? And don't sleep on the boys in red. Second in constructors, they have the pace, the drivers and nothing to lose. Could Mclaren drop the ball in both title fights and go home empty handed? All the plus much much more on this week's episode of BTRL.

In this episode we talk about the Mexican GP - we talk about the battles, the wars, the winners, the losers - and of course, all the drama.
An exciting Mexican GP that saw a lot of passes, and strong drive from Sainz and Ferrari underlying they have the fastest car out there currently. Max and Norris had two tough battles on the track, and Max received two different penalties for 20 Secs. Norris got a strong 2nd place to gain 10 pts on Max. There were very questionable aggressive moves from Max that could have taken out both drivers out. Mercedes had a strong recovery drive to round up 4th and 5th. Magnussen in the Haas also had a very strong weekend.
