Liam Lawson's seat for next year in F1 still isn't guaranteed, as Racing Bulls are still yet to announce who will be driving their cars next year. Lawson's current teamate Isaak Hadjar has had an impressive first season, leaving fans to believe that he will get the promotion to Red Bull next year, leaving Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda scrapping for the last seat F1 Journalist Chris Medland told Elliott Smith that the suspense around the decision is due to Red Bull's contracts. "They have them all under contract. They can wait as late as they want in the season, but I think they're aware that for a few of them, it would really help give them some certainty."

Ferrari do seem to have unlocked pace and performance in the 2025 United States Grand Prix. Red Bull will announce 4 drivers for their F1 teams, Red Bull Racing and Racing Bulls, for next year. Red Bull Racing are considering delaying their final decision on who to put in their second car next season, according to Last Word on Sports, after Yuki Tsunoda has started to impress the team. Red Bull originally set a deadline for this weekend in Mexico, but might deliberate further as the Japanese driver has had an uptick in performance.
F1 World Champion team McLaren hasn't looked this helpless for a while, isn't it? Max Verstappen's resurgence with Red Bull Racing is making minced meat of the papaya cars! Or is it only Oscar Piastri who struggled in the 2025 USA GP? Lando Norris took his time, but managed to finally overcome the challenge of Charles Leclerc to claim the second step on the podium. Williams Racing drivers were clumsy, while Pirelli's attempts to induce a two-stopping race didn't yield. The heat & wind played its part, but weren't the reasons why the 2025 USA GP was borderline boring, even though Max Verstappen ate a large part of the gap between him and a possible fifth F1 world title. Can Ferrari win a race this year? Worse, will McLaren win again in 2025? And if you were the Team Principal of McLaren would you favour one driver over the other?

Red Bull Racing have been given what the FIA call a significant penalty following the United States Grand Prix as they breached the International Sporting Code. Meanwhile Carlos Sainz has been given a five-place grid penalty for this weekend's Mexico City Grand Prix. The penalty was given for Sainz's attempted overtake on Kimi Antonelli during Sunday's US Grand Prix, where the two cars collided and the Spaniard had to retire from the race after.
Max Verstappen wins the sprint after Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris are wiped out on the first lap, while McLaren worries it's lost the momentum to Red Bull Racing for good after the Dutchman blitzes both drivers in qualifying to take pole. Max Verstappen beats Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri to pole position for the sprint to confirm Red Bull Racing's resurgence, but was Norris hobbled by his own team as punishment for hitting Piastri on the first lap in Singapore?

Oscar Piastri leads the 2025 Formula 1 Drivers' Championship. But he's been uncharacteristic in the last two races in Baku and Singapore. Will Piastri swim or sink as the last quarter of races (6) of the 2025 Formula 1 season commence this weekend with the 2025 United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas? Max Verstappen - will he continue to out-qualify and out-race the McLaren drivers? The Red Bull Racing package will be tested again and in warmer conditions in Austin, Texas. Also, will Verstappen deliver his "revenge" against Lando Norris for the qualifying impeding in Singapore? Will Mercedes *finally* announce George Russell & Andrea Kimi Antonelli for 2026 and beyond? This week we have the latest in our series of F1 team principal interviews as we sit down with Sauber boss Jonathan Wheatley. He has been in F1 since 1991 and contributed to eight Constructors' World Championships and 153 Grands Prix victories in various roles with Benetton, Renault and Red Bull Racing, where he won six of those titles. He started life as Team Principal with Sauber in April this year, shortly after the Japanese GP, arriving at work on his first day in a classic Audi Quattro. Since May, the team has seen a significant uptick in form. From 2026 the team will be rebadged as Audi, with a bespoke engine and, along with Chief Technical Office Mattia Binotto, Wheatley will carry the hopes of one of the world's leading manufacturers in their first foray into F1 racing. What skills has he had to learn? What are the advantages and disadvantages of having such a long drawn-out transition from Sauber to Audi? And how high does he feel Gabriel Bortoleto's ceiling is as a driver? Joining James Allen in the studio to discuss the interview are Autosport F1 writers Ronald Vording and Jake Boxhall-Legge. Red Bull Racing, in contrast to many of its rivals, is still investing a lot of time and money into the 2025 car. The Austrian team wants to use this to gain more insight into the correlation between the wind tunnel and what actually happens on the track, and it also gives Max Verstappen a small chance at the 2025 World Championship. Which strategy has Red Bull Racing chosen, and could this potentially lead to Max Verstappen's fifth title? In this GPFans Special, we dive into that.
Unsurprisingly, McLaren win the 2025 Formula 1 Constructors' Championship, equaling Red Bull Racing's record of least races taken to win the teams' title. Surprisingly, George Russell scored his first win around the streets of Singapore - building on a classic pole lap from Saturday. He was unmatched on Sunday, as Max Verstappen, in second, couldn't charge further, and held back the "faster" McLaren of Lando Norris. The Ferrari duo struggled with brake wear issues with Lewis Hamilton picking up a post-race time penalty of 5 seconds. Fernando Alonso, who was furious with Hamilton's "track limit" violations had a feisty race with a slow pit stop. Carlos Sainz went from P18 to the points after Alexander Albon's team work helped keep Liam Lawson at bay. Just two blokes, Andrew & Bruce. talking motorsport over a beer… well, maybe not this week. We pull apart the Azerbaijan Grand Prix: Oscar's slips, Lando's missed punches, Max's metronomic dominance, and Red Bull Racing's revival under its new regime. George Russell, Carlos Sainz, and the small matter of a Williams podium all get a run, too. Then we swing back to The Bend 500, seven days on, to ask what actually mattered, who nailed the start, and who never fired. McLaren are poised to win the F1 Constructors World Championship with a record seven races to spare. Given that this is the final year of these regulations, where the margins are supposed to be tight, how have they done it? A Christchurch father-of-three has won a nationwide competition to design a helmet for Formula One driver Liam Lawson. The competition, run by Lawson's team sponsors Red Bull, invited New Zealanders to submit original designs and offered a rare chance to see their creativity come to life on the F1 grid. Nearly 500 designs were submitted, and the winning design will debut at the Singapore GP in October. Winner Ian Ebbs told Mike Hosking he took into account things Lawson likes —the colours on his previous helmets, and hobbies like golf— as well as including tastes of home. He says the design is a taste of New Zealand. LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

(00:00-25:14) – Query & Company opens on a Monday with Jake Query and producer Eddie Garrison touching on all the things that happened over the weekend. Jake also shares a story about Forrest Lucas after his passing was announced last week after the show. Plus, Jake discusses briefly the final preseason game for the Colts against the Bengals. (25:14-38:54) – The voice of IU football and men’s basketball, Don Fischer, makes his first of many appearance of the season on the program to recap his son’s first win of the high school football season on Friday, shares what he has heard thus far about Fernando Mendoza in comparison to what Kurtis Rourke did a year ago, highlights the wide receiver room for the Hoosiers, and identifies the interior offensive line as the unknown area on the football team. (38:54-45:37) – The first hour of the program wraps up with Jake discussing his trip to Milwaukee for the IndyCar race. He recaps Christian Rasmussen’s first career win and his experience at the Milwaukee Brewers game. (45:37-1:09:20) – Jake Query and producer Eddie Garrison shift the focus of their conversation back to the Indianapolis Colts and how they might have shifted their thoughts on what they are wanting the quarterback to do. It all leads back to Chris Ballard and how long it’s taken him to address the position following Andrew Luck’s retirement. (1:09:20-1:21:32) – Ed Carpenter, team president of ECR, joins Query & Company to celebrate his first team win in four years with Christian Rasmussen capturing the checkered flag yesterday in Milwaukee. He shares what he saw in Rasmussen when he decided to sign him, the situation between Rasmussen and Conor Daly in Portland a few weeks ago and reveals that Alexander Rossi and Rasmussen will be back next season. (1:21:32-1:29:56) – The second hour of the program concludes with Jake discussing something he noticed during his game experience on Saturday at the Milwaukee Brewers game because it’s something that he has seen change over the years. (1:29:56-1:56:39) – The Dean, Mike Chappell, from CBS4 and FOX59 makes his weekly pitstop on Query & Company to access the quarterback position with Riley Leonard having a standout performance against the Cincinnati Bengals. Will the Colts trade Anthony Richardson? What would it take for the Colts to trade him? Mike weighs in on those questions and doesn’t envision any surprise cuts, or players making the roster once the initial 53-man roster is announced. (1:56:39-2:08:52) – Jake needs help with figuring out when things changed with people texting to ask if they can call you versus just calling you and then waiting to get a call back if someone doesn’t answer. (2:08:52-2:17:56) – Today’s show closes out with JMV joining Jake in the studio to discuss his weekend in Milwaukee, the passing of Robin Miller being four years ago today, and the Alex Palou to Red Bull Racing in F1 rumors.Support the show: https://1075thefan.com/query-and-company/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
