Alex Albon is one of the most exciting talents in Formula 1, currently driving for Williams Racing. He has previously raced for Scuderia Toro Rosso and Red Bull Racing where he was teammate to the current Drivers Champion, Max Verstappen. This episode was recorded across two occasions, with the first taking place at the Williams Racing headquarters just days after the now infamous Qatar Grand Prix, which saw Alex need medical attention due to the heat in the car. The second half was recorded in London when Alex returned from an early exit in Sao Paulo. The conversations cover Alex's rise through the ranks of racing, and his struggles when he was dropped by Red Bull, electing to stay with the team and improve the car for his teammates. Alex opens up on the learnings he has taken through difficult periods in his career and his personal life, which he believes have enabled him to develop the mental resilience needed to become a champion.Download The High Performance App by clicking the link belowhttps://www.thehighperformancepodcast.com/app-link Hosted on Acast. That's all for the on-track action from the 2023 Formula 1 season. But the action will continue on the Inside Line F1 Podcast into the off-season of the sport. We've got a few Team Principals lined up as guests followed by Daryl Goodrich (Director of the Brawn GP documentary) and Andrew Denford (from F1 in Schools). But in this episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Soumil Arora, Kunal Shah and @f1statsguru review the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Was the race fitting as a finale for the 2023 Formula 1 season? Or was it underwhelming at best? Frankly, the Feature Race of Formula 2 in Abu Dhabi was far more fun! Max Verstappen's 19th win of the season, his overtaking of Sebastian Vettel's win tally of 53 races, his leading more than 1,000 racing laps this season and more. The 2023 Abu Dhabi was yet another race of dominance by Verstappen and Red Bull Racing. However, it was also another classic for Sergio Perez. Checo lost positions yet again, this time due to a post-race time penalty! It's the third consecutive race in which he's lost positions on the final lap! McLaren's missed opportunities with Lando Norris and their slow stop giving George Russell and Mercedes vital track position and points in their battle for P2 against Ferrari, Charles Leclerc's Sainz-esque approach to clinch P2, Tsunoda-Hamilton's last lap scrap and Fernando Alonso's brake-testing of Hamilton. A lot happened in the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix even if the overall race wasn't as exciting. 'Tyre management' was the name of the game, unfortunately. Btw, did you notice the new podium at the Yas Marina Circuit? Also, AI was in action for 'track limits' this race. Lots to talk about, lots to tune in for! Red Bull Racing may have wrapped up a 1-2 finish in the Drivers' Championship for the first time in their Formula 1 history, but the battle for 4th in the Drivers' Championship is still wide open. Carlos Sainz, Fernando Alonso, Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc are separated by 12 points for P4. Similarly, the battle for the 2nd in the Constructors' Championship is tightly contested. Ferrari and Mercedes are separated by 4 points only. If you're a Formula 1 fan in Mumbai, join our 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix live race screening at Khar SOCIAL on Sunday from 5.30 pm onward. Tickets @ Paytm Insider. P.S.: We will have a live Pit Wall to decode the race via live timing And finally, if the minnows interest you (which we are sure they do!), then only 16 points separated Williams in 7th to Haas in 10th. Yes, they might not be heavy points scorers, but this is Formula 1 and in Abu Dhabi, you never know what result is thrown up! In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Soumil Arora, @f1statsguru and Kunal preview the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It's the 15th race in Abu Dhabi - time flies! But what do you remember the most about the Yas Marina Circuit? The pit lane tunnel exit? Or the fact that it is one of the most-expensive circuits to be ever built...with little to offer for on-track entertainment? Also, if you're worried that Formula 1 will be over and done with after Abu Dhabi, worry not. The start to the 2024 Formula 1 Season will only be 97 days after the chequered flag drops in Abu Dhabi. A Red Bull Racing-Max Verstappen win might be certain. And if so, Red Bull Racing will only be 1 win behind Williams' all-time race wins in Formula 1 (114). Also, Verstappen will overtake Sebastian Vettel to be the third-highest race winner in the sport - after Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher. Of course, he will extend his current record of most wins in a season to 19! But will Sergio Perez lose a spot on the final lap of a race for the third consecutive time? Can Ferrari finally perform in Abu Dhabi? They have scored neither a pole position nor a race win here ever! If they score pole on Saturday, it will be their 250th pole overall. Who will win the qualifying head-to-head in Mercedes? George Russell and Lewis Hamilton are both tied 11-11. Haven't we already given you all the reasons for tuning in to this weekend's 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and of course, this episode, too?
He's the second longest-serving Team Principal on the 2023 Formula 1 grid, but after 18 years in charge of AlphaTauri and Toro Rosso, Franz Tost is hanging up his pitwall headphones. Ahead of his final race in Abu Dhabi, Tost sits down with Tom Clarkson to talk about the highs and lows of leading the team from its inception. Hear about Franz's, sometimes challenging, relationship with senior team Red Bull Racing, their sensational Grand Prix wins at Monza in 2008 and 2020, and how he helped launch the careers of multiple World Champions, Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen. Plus, the Austrian tells Tom which of the 17 drivers he's worked with have impressed him the most and his five stages of development for rookies. On Episode 19 of The F1 Pod on Off The Ball, host Shane Hannon was joined as always by Aston Martin's former Head of Race Strategy, Bernie Collins, and also by Blake Hinsey, a former F1 Performance Engineer with Red Bull Racing. There was plenty of incident and excitement in Las Vegas, even before the race itself got underway in Sin City! We talked all the action - Esteban Ocon's brilliant drive, the Checo v Leclerc battle, and looked ahead to the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this weekend. The F1 Pod on OTB is brought to you by Chicago Town Pizza, real takeout taste for less with Chicago Town.

Otoshops'un katkılarıyla hazırlanan Socrates GP'nin yeni bölümünde Çağıl Özge Özkul ve Emre Baltaoğlu, Las Vegas GP'yi derinlemesine inceliyor. Program, Formula 1 yönetiminin eğlenceyi yarışın önüne koyması sonucu pilotlardan gelen eleştirilere değinerek başlıyor. İkili, Verstappen'in startta aldığı cezayı, Mclaren'in izlediği yolu, Perez'in şampiyonadaki ikinciliğini konuşuyor ve padoktaki ünlüler geçidine ayrı bir parantez açıyor.
What a race, just what a race! The inaugural 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix was Formula 1 hitting a jackpot, at least on-track. Just the way a manhole hit Carlos Sainz on-track on Thursday. If the racing is good, do we forget the teething issues that Formula 1 faced in Las Vegas? Well, at least, in the first half of this episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we've chosen to do so. When last did we see the top-3 battle for the lead of the race in the way Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez do so in Las Vegas? Could Charles Leclerc have won the race if not for the second Safety Car? Why could Sergio Perez not keep the lead of the race ahead of Leclerc? How is it that Ferrari suddenly had better tyre wear than all their rivals, Red Bull Racing included? Why did Ferrari choose to not pit Leclerc under the second SC, just as Red Bull Racing did? Was Max Verstappen justified in taking pot shots at the Las Vegas Grand Prix overall? And of course, his shots at everyone who came in his firing range of opinions about everything Formula 1? How did Lance Stroll and Esteban Ocon recover from a Q1 elimination to a top-5 finish? Also, is the five-second time penalty justified or should the FIA necessitate a swap on-track? Just how was the racing so good? How did McLaren mess up the weekend? How was Red Bull Racing unbeatable despite being only-second quickest in both, the slow speed and straightline? And finally, the key insight as to why Red Bull Racing and several other finishers in the top-10 chose fresh rubber for the Safety Car restarts.

Vegas, Baby! How Las Vegas evolved from gambling mecca to sports town Liberty Media is spending half a billion dollars to make the Las Vegas Grand Prix the “event of the year” in a city known for over-the-top programming. Along with the gambling and the all-star residencies, Vegas just added NFL, NHL and WNBA teams and recently added the Oakland A's to that roster. This episode of Ready for the Big Time: F1 explores the logistics behind this endeavor, revisits the last time Sin City hosted a GP, back in 1982, and checks back in with Daniel Ricciardo about what he's excited to see. All the while, we'll speak with Liberty Media boss Greg Maffei about why returning to Vegas is such an essential piece of the American takeover. Host, Scott Speed shares why he views Las Vegas as a motorsports city and co-host Andrew Lawrence speaks with Greg Maffei, president and chief executive officer of Liberty Media, about the company's plans for the LVGP and cultural impact of the sport since taking over F1. Ready for the Big Time: F1 is a production of the Red Bulletin magazine. Producers include Nora O'Donnell and Melissa Saenz Gordon. Executive producers include Peter Flax and Branden Peters. Almost as quickly have humans created automobiles they were racing them against each other. Eventually this racing, centralized initially in Europe, evolved from is pre WW2 roots to become the creme del la creme, the pinnacle of motorsport....Formula One. Almost as much fighter plane as car, costing millions of dollars each and reaching speeds on the track of more the 215 mph, Formula One cars are the peak of modern engineering. Driven by peak athletes who have been training for it since childhood. So what did it take to bring this sport from its humble beginning on small European tracks to rocketing through Monte Carlo, or down the Las Vegas Strip for the first time this week. Who are the teams? How come there are only 10? How do you Why are some teams more dominant than other? Tune in and find out.
Liam Lawson will fill a key role for both Red Bull teams as his wait for a Formula One seat continues. He recorded a best placing of ninth, filling in at Alpha Tauri for five races in his debut year. Director of both Red Bull Racing and Alpha Tauri, Helmut Marko, told Mike Hosking that the 21-year-old still has room for growth. Marko says Lawson will need to be patient in pursuit of a fulltime drive, with incumbents contracted until the end of next year. LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Earlier this year, Oracle Red Bull Racing and Scuderia AlphaTauri announced a powerplant partnership with Ford Performance, starting in 2026. Meanwhile, Andretti Global is teaming with GM/Cadillac to field an 11th F1 team. This episode of Ready for the Big Time: F1 will explore Ford's rich history in the sport, what drove Ford's support away, and why a return is so exciting. Then we'll look at why Cadillac's entry could be the final stroke that sheds their frumpy reputation.Host Scott Speed discusses his connection with Ford Cosworth engines, and co-host Andrew Lawrence speaks with A.J. Baime, author of Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari and Their Battle for Speed and Glory at Le Mans; and speaks with Mark Rushbrook, global director at Ford Performance Motorsports, about the company's exciting and timely return. Red Bull are reported to have acquired extra security for Max Verstappen while in Mexico. In my opinion, you don't need extra security if you didn't do anything wrong or someone isn't after you for a specific reason. Red Bull via Helmut Marko, Max Verstappen and Christian Horner have created their own situation as to fearing the Mexico citizens. Helmut has made racially toned remarks about the Mexican people. Helmut has been disrespectful in the public to Sergio Perez, the Red Bull Racing driver. Max has shown he doesn't respect Perez as an equal. Christian has been seen as the little mastermind behind the scenes and less supportive for Checo as Perez was in close contention for the lead in the WDC. They wanted to feel safe, because they knew they had done wrong. And, let's be real! Mexicans are a proud cultural people with the gumption to take action!
3 races to go for the 2023 Formula 1 season to conclude...or make that 4 if you are one of those who counts a Sprint as an extra race! Btw, is it the Brazil Grand Prix or the Sao Paulo Grand Prix - what name did you grow up to? Interlagos is a very popular racing venue. It stands for 'between the lakes' in Portuguese. If there's one circuit we don't mind the Sprint at, it's this. Lewis Hamilton's charge to the front in the Sprint and Grand Prix in 2021 is still fresh in our memory. In this episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Soumil Arora, @f1statsguru and Kunal Shah preview the 2023 Sao Paulo Grand Prix. Will we see a different team step up to claim P2 behind Max Verstappen? Will Verstappen's dominant win-all-races continue at Interlagos? Yes, Red Bull Racing messed it up at Interlagos last year. But most Formula 1 teams don't repeat mistakes. But what do the stats say? As @f1statsguru points out, the pole sitter of the Hungarian Grand Prix has gone to win the Sao Paulo Grand Prix since many years. If this trend continues, Lewis Hamilton will win top honours this Sunday. In this episode, the trio talk about the unique characteristics of Interlagos, expectant weather this weekend, Williams' chances and if Aston Martin's decline in form and results will continue. We've see three different pole sitters in the last three years - remember Kevin Magnussen? And we've had three different race winners in the last three years. Let's see who takes top honours this weekend...two times over! Tune in! The irony of it...! Daniel Ricciardo's perfect audition for Sergio Perez's seat at Red Bull Racing came at Perez's home race! A race in which Perez made an audaciously overambitious move at Turn 1 of the opening lap; a move that he thought would make him win the race. Instead, he found himself launched mid-air after colliding with Charles Leclerc's Ferrari. In this episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Soumil Arora and Kunal Shah review the 2023 Mexican Grand Prix. Max Verstappen won both the races in Mexico - with rocket-like starts, to start with. Lewis Hamilton finished second to Verstappen again, only that this time around, his Mercedes W14 was legal. Yes, it passed all post-race scrutineering. After clinching yet another pole position, Charles Leclerc finished 3rd for Ferrari. From 1-2 at the start, Ferrari settled for 3-4 at the chequered flag. Did Ferrari's strategy for Carlos Sainz make sense to you? They let Lewis Hamilton undercut him in the pit stops. And of course, Ferrari's mis-reading of the crossover between the medium & hard tyre - a crucial choice they made the restart. Did we witness 'Hammer Time' by Hamilton in Mexico? He drove a solid race on the medium tyre while his team-mate George Russell had yet another lacklustre outing. Russell only just fended off a resurgent Daniel Ricciardo in the AlphaTauri. Ricciardo's six points helped AlphaTauri jump two places in the Constructors' Championship. But did it also propel Ricciardo's chances at Red Bull Racing? Poor races from Perez only make the case to replace him stronger. Esteban Ocon and Nico Hulkenberg's tussle for 10th, Yuki Tsunoda's missed opportunity and of course, Lando Norris' recovery from a Q1 exit to 5th place at the chequered flag. Yes, Norris finished 12 places higher than his start position but he ended his 4-race podium finishing streak thanks to his errors in qualifying. A lot happened in the 2023 Mexican Grand Prix, including a fan brawl in the stands. Tune in! Young American women are among the biggest drivers of F1's current popularity boom, and their wide-eyed enthusiasm for the sport is forcing the hidebound male gatekeeper fans of the sport to get with the times. In this episode of Ready for the Big Time: F1, we'll examine the communities that these young women have formed around F1 and how it's unlike anything this sport, or rival men's pro leagues, have ever seen. This episode is hosted by Scott Speed and co-host Toni Cowan-Brown, aka @F1Toni, who speaks with culture writer Lily Herman, author of the newsletter Engine Failure and co-host of the podcast Choosing Sides: F1 (SI and iHeartRadio) and content creator Mikaela Kostaras, aka @SheLovesF1.For more episodes from seasons 1 and 2 of Ready for the Big Time: F1, CLICK HERE!

Just in time for the United States Grand Prix in Austin, season 2 of Ready for the Big Time: F1 opens with an episode recorded at the track, with arguably the most popular figure in Formula 1, whether he's behind the wheel or not. F1 journalist Justin Hynes speaks with Daniel Ricciardo on the growing popularity of F1 in the US, why he loves the Austin track so much, and waxes poetic about his love for NASCAR (and Texas BBQ).
We're roughly a month away from Formula 1 hitting the Vegas strip, and to say it's a "controversial topic" would be a massive understatement. On one side, you've got the proponents who love it; they say it will bring global attention to the city, shine the spotlight on Vegas as a world-class sporting city, and be a HUGE economic benefit for the city with an estimated $1.2 billion impact. Then, on the other side, you've got the people who absolutely HATE the event; they're tired of traffic tie-ups & construction chaos, they're disgusted with F1's greed, and they're tired of disruptions on the strip with track preparation - including blocking off the Bellagio Fountains & closing the Mirage Volcano. Joining me for his second appearance is Todd McCandless, host of The Parc Fermé Podcast, an awesome F1 podcast. As we get closer to "lights out", I thought it might be fun to have Todd back for another chat about the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Todd was here about a year and a half ago after the race was officially announced, but with things fully in motion and race weekend quickly approaching, I figured it was time for an update. Todd and I also talked about the current F1 season, Max Verstappen & Red Bull Racing's dominance & the effect that was having on viewership, and whether or not the addition of another American-based team would re-spark U.S. interest in Formula 1. The inaugural season explored what it would take for Formula One to make the big time in the United States. Now, with an American driver on the grid, an American team and three US GPs, F1 fever has arrived in the US, and in the process, the sport has embraced some distinctly American traits. This season of Ready for the Big Time: Formula 1, unpacks the Americanization of F1. Host Scott Speed, and co-hosts F1 Toni and Andrew Lawrence, will explore the splashy plans for the Las Vegas GP and Liberty Media's winning strategy to the rising popularity of F1, how American carmakers are betting on F1 and why reaching female content creators may be the secret ingredient to propel the sport into the stratosphere. Launching October 19. Explore season one of this series HERE.Ready for the Big Time: Formula 1 is produced by Red Bull's Red Bulletin magazine. It's produced and written by Nora O'Donnell and Melissa Saenz Gordon. Engineering by Full English Post. Executive Producers include Peter Flax and Branden Peters.
New Zealand driver Richie Stanaway says teaming up with Shane van Gisbergen at Red Bull Racing has made his return to the sport so much easier.
We expect discussions and dissonance around Andretti's entry in Formula 1 to hijack all stories from the 2023 Qatar Grand Prix, including Max Verstappen's impending 3rd Formula 1 World Championship. But does Formula 1 need an 11th team? We're split in our judgment and opinion. On sporting grounds, we agree that an 11th team will do wonders for Formula 1 and upcoming young talent. But from a business perspective, it's tricky - that's where we had peak disagreement despite having no vested interests in Andretti's entry. Why should the existing 10 teams agree to devalue their business? Why is Andretti interested in Formula 1 only now? Is the FIA pressurising Liberty Media to enter into an agreement with Andretti by making their (acceptance) stance public? Lots of interesting discussions that will hopefully give you a better understanding of the messy situation that Formula 1 faces with Andretti. And of course, this episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast is also the official preview episode for the 2023 Qatar Grand Prix. A sprint race weekend, a fast-flowy circuit, and is resurfaced, re-kerbed and will offer a challenge via different track temperatures and of course, the first time running of the ground-effect cars. Will Ferrari's better tyre degradation prevail? Is Mercedes' claim that Ferrari have better tyre degradation since the summer break true? Will McLaren continue to eat into Aston Martin's points gap to 4th place? We reckon McLaren will continue to be the team closest to Red Bull Racing this weekend, too. A new circuit, different challenges...and lots of sports washing. Tune in!
