On this episode of The Vocal Lab Podcast, hosts Jason Catron and Shelby Rollins are joined by none other than Clark Beckham — artist, vocal powerhouse, and passionate teacher. In a candid and inspiring conversation, Clark opens up about the twists and turns of his musical journey, starting with his early days busking on Lower Broadway in Nashville, where he learned to command an audience one song at a time. From there, Clark shares the highs and pressures of his time on American Idol, giving listeners an inside look at what it's like to perform on one of the biggest stages in the world — and the lessons that experience taught him about himself, both as a singer and as a person. But perhaps the most powerful part of the episode is Clark's reflection on discovering his authentic artistry — letting go of external expectations, finding his voice, and learning to create music that's honest, meaningful, and true to who he really is.“I spent so much time trying to be what I thought people wanted. The real breakthrough came when I stopped performing and started expressing. That's when everything changed.” — Clark Beckham

San Francisco-born and Los Angeles based songstress, Anna Dellaria, uses her flaws to start a fire. Translating lyrical catharsis through bold and powerful vocal delivery, she doesn’t back down from darkness; rather, she turns it into light… That approach has unassumingly drawn the spotlight to her after a lifetime dedicated to the craft. Her recent single, “Cut You Loose” debuted on Spotify’s acclaimed New Music Friday US, Denmark and Fresh Finds. The infectious release also premiered on Dr. Dre's Beats of the Week on Apple Music - with National Radio Support from Sirius XM and Pat Monahan from Train. Dellaria’s recent singles have premiered on EARMILK to critical acclaim. Her music has racked up over 1.5 million digital streams, and been featured across 9 editorial Playlists including several New Music Fridays and top 10 on Amazon Music's "Girl Power" Playlist. Her recording success is coupled with her captivating and dynamic stage prowess. Dellaria's live performances have most recently gained recognition as a selected artist for BMGpm's 2020 SXSW Showcase, and tour support for Clark Beckham's Summer Tour 2021. Expect new music from this buzzing artist next year, with a series of singles to welcome her debut EP. The new music is driven by a desire to create a fresh & authentic sound rooted in turning imperfection into power: darkness into light."

For this episode, I had the privilege to sit down with filmmaker Trevor Hancock. He's worked on music videos for people like Clark Beckham, a Video Editor at DDP YOGA, Worked on the film Death To Life by Nate Powers, and Host of the Portable Trevor Show. We talk about his unique experience of moving from a small town in Tennessee to a house in Atlanta with nearly half a dozen other filmmakers where they've been creating content and collaborating for over a year. We also discuss his personal influences and how he even used a lack of opportunities in his past to propel him to his success today. Make sure you stick around to the end to hear about The Portable Trevor Show, where he live streams interviews with some pretty incredible guests.
We had such a great conversation with Clark Beckham on The Chris & Sandy Show. We talked about so much from faith, family, music, sacrifices, told stories to so much more. WOW a few of the stories he told, you will have to hear to believe. They were awesome! His work ethic is 2nd to none! Click the play button to listen to the podcast.
A couple months ago Clark Beckham laced up his shoes to run 50 miles at the Rocky Racoon in Huntsville, Texas. Since we previously talked after the Marine Corps Marathon, Clark's training had been a bumpy road- think busy life of a musician on tour combined with a rough marathon recovery. Despite a near non-existent training block, he lined up at the start line anyway. Braving the ups and downs of his very first ultramarathon, pushing through every step of the way and discovering just how much he is capable of through pure grit and determination. This is the story of Clark's race. A story in which he will inspire you, make you laugh, make you wince in empathetic pain, and challenge you to go after your own ridiculously lofty goals!! Hope you guys enjoy the show! I am absolutely floored by Clark's story and am incredibly inspired by him! This week we welcome American Idol finalist, first time marathoner and future ultra marathoner Clark Beckham to the show!! I recently met Clark at the finish of the Marine Corps Marathon. Sitting there in my own state of pure exhaustion, I was re-energized by the brief synopsis of Clark's marathon journey- 6 months earlier he was 30 pounds heavier listening to David Goggins' book "Can't Hurt Me" when he pulled his car over and signed up for his very first race. He set a lofty goal of a 3:45 marathon and trained like crazy day after day after day before ultimately getting it done. He also had the added pressure of singing the anthem to 30,000 racers, marines, and spectators before the starting gun went off! Clark's tale is unique and I'm super happy to get the opportunity to sit down and chat with him about it. A solid mindset of perseverance, determination, and the ability to work hard has helped him find success both in running and in his career as a musician (he was a finalist on American Idol and is a fantastic singer!!) Now he's looking to take on his first 50 miler and continuing his journey into endurance and what is possible!! Hope you guys enjoy the episode!! Happy Thanksgiving!! Thankful for all of you for tuning in!
