We continue our chronological watch through with an early, formative Clone episode, followed up by two episodes we initially did not even realize were related, both centered around a previously disconnected Toydaria arc. Watching these episodes in order gives a significant amount of backstory to a handful of characters who play important roles later in the series, so let's jump in!BECOME A PATRON: https://www.patreon.com/massivebreakdownpodcastDESTINY 2 PODS:PVP: https://destiny-massive-breakdowns.captivate.fm/listenPVE: https://pve-podcast-versus-enemies.captivate.fm/listenCHAT SERVER: https://discord.gg/TheyfeQHOME PAGE: https://destinymassivebreakdowns.com
Tech climbs up the tram into the sky and tries to reboot the terminal. Tarkin sends ships out to shoot them, including his own storm trooper men, so long as they wipe out the bad batch. Hunter makes a precise shot at one of the ships and we see he's got a bit of his brother crosshair in him too. Hunter was always a second best at shooting I think compared to crosshair. I believe he got some of the mutuation as well. Tech reboots the tram, but falls off the ledge, hanging on the wire after the ships shot all the trams off their tracks. Tech says the connection must be cut as he's pulling them down. He says there's no time as Wrecker says no, and he says time for plan 99. Plan 99 is in reference to clone 99 from the clone wars. Clone 99 was a defective so called clone trooper with physical abnormalities compared to his brothers. He worked as a maintenance worker at the clone trooper barracks on Kamino. Despite his physical limitations, he was fiercely loyal to the clone troopers and often helped them in any way he could. Clone 99 died in the episode "The Clone Wars: Season 3, Episode 1 - Clone Cadets" while defending the clone cadets from an attack by Separatist commando droids. He sacrificed his life to help the cadets escape and transmit a distress signal, warning the Republic of the impending attack. Clone 99's bravery and sacrifice inspired the clone cadets to fight harder and succeed in their mission. So plan 99 here as Tech says, is him sacrificing himself for his team. Wrecker tells him not to do it, and tech questions when have they ever followed orders, shooting the wire and falling to his doom along with the tram pulling the others down. As the tram gets back on its tracks, they go speeding into the building and out the other end. As Omega is badly injured, hunter wrecker and echo enter a first person mode as they run to the ship, shooting blasts all around. It was like a video game, it was awesome. Omega wakes up at ord mantell, Sid's bar to get AZ the medical droid, as she comes to terms with the loss of Tech. Hunter tells her it's time to stop being soldiers, and ot just live a new life on Pabu. Seems weird to me since they still didn't save Crosshair but maybe they plan to save him later once they're on Pabu. Sid gives a drink to Wrecker, as she's nervous, and we find out the Empire is in the sky, sending out transports to drop hemlock and clone commandos. Echo tries to reach them, but the empire jammed their comms. Sid reveals she turned them in, as clone commandos come in and stun wrecker, to no affect due to his mutation, until a few more blasts do the job. Hunter goes out to help his brother, as Omega disobeys his direct order to leave. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
in the bad batch finale, tech fell to this death after sacrificing himself for his brothers and omega. Mentioning plan 99, Plan 99 is in reference to clone 99 from the clone wars. Wrecker tells him not to do it, and tech questions when have they ever followed orders, shooting the wire and falling to his doom along with the tram pulling the others down. As the tram gets back on its tracks, they go speeding into the building and out the other end as Tech falls into the clouds with the rest of the tram cart. Now, here's why I don't think Tech is dead. There are actually many reasons supporting his survival. First off, his mutation was intelligence, meaning if anyone could calculate a way out of that situation, it's him. The second was, he had thrusters on his back pack, meaning even if they didn't act as a full on jet pack like jango or baba fett's, he would have been able to slow his descent before hitting the ground and safely land. The third theory is that he fell into water, which would have a better chance of survival with his armor than if he landed on ground. The final theory is that Hemlock was using the clones for his experiments, and the bad batch were the more unique and special clones of all given their mutations and powers, he would have done everything he could to make sure he collected tech before he hit the ground, or to revive him and heal him back to health so he can run tests on him. I think in the third season, we could see the empire running tests and experiments on Tech, and this would likely be used as some sort of major mid season cliff hanger or something, as we all thought he's dead. The fifth and final theory that tech is alive, is that Rex went to save him, somehow Rex went to iriadu just after the bad batch got out, and ended up finding Tech and saving him, only to show up later with him in season 3 to save the day. The main theory I cling on to here is that Hemlock recovered Tech's glasses, meaning he probably found the body and took him to the lab. I think he had a ship ready to catch him because of how valuable tech is as an asset. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Finally, we've come to the end of The Clone Wars Season 2. And, appropriate for a season subtitled "Rise of the Bounty Hunters," we do so with a trio of episodes about future fan favorite hunter Boba Fett (co-starring Aurra Sing and Bossk, two other fan favorite mercs). It's an imperfect arc in many ways, but it succeeds in at least one important metric: getting us to talk for too damned long about them. In any case, some news before you get to the episode: We'll be taking a break for our next scheduled episode and returning on October 6th, with our normal monthly Patreon episode going live on September 29th (so get your questions in to amorecivilizedage@gmail.com). This week, the crew goes over two more Clone Wars episodes! "Clone Cadets" and "ARC Troopers"
The boys discuss the plot of the first 6 episodes of Star Wars: Clone Wars Season 3, read a scene from "Backstroke of the West", and learn that central theme of all the canon is Dooku's love. S3E1 - Clone CadetsFive headstrong clones struggle to complete their training on Kamino. These cadets -- Hevy, Cutup, Droidbait, Fives and Echo -- seem to be a "bad batch" and are unable to work as a team. As Shaak Ti and drill instructors Bric and El-Les debate the cadets' fate, the clones learn to work together and accept their destiny as soldiers.S3E2 - ARC TroopersThe Republic learns of an impending Separatist attack on Kamino, and Anakin and Obi-Wan hurry to the planet. After the Republic repulses the Separatists' diversionary assault, the real attack begins. Asajj Ventress, General Grievous and an army of droids rise out of the oceans, bent on destroying Kamino's clone production facilities. Rex, Cody, Fives and Echo lead the clones in a desperate defense of their home planet.S3E3 - Supply LinesRyloth is under siege. Trapped on the surface, Jedi Master Di rallies the local forces with the help of Cham Syndulla. Desperate to save them, the Jedi Council dispatches Senator Bail Organa and Representative Jar Jar Binks to the planet Toydaria, where they are to convince the neutral regent, King Katuunko, to send aid to Ryloth. Bail and Jar Jar must convince Toydaria that their cause is just -- before it's too late. Trade Federation envoy Lott Dod attempts to prevent the Toydarians from giving up their neutrality. Katuunko follows his conscience and secretly aids the Republic, which Jar Jar is able to keep secret from the snooping Trade Federation agents with his inimitable distractions.S3E4 - Sphere of InfluenceChi Eekway and Che Amanwe, Chairman Papanoida's daughters, are kidnapped and held for ransom. Ahsoka Tano teams up with the Senator from Pantora, Riyo Chuchi, to aid the new chairman in recovering his family before the Trade Federation can unduly influence the future of his planet. The Chairman and his son, Ion, track down the kidnapper -- Greedo -- on Tatooine, and rescue Che Amanwe. Meanwhile, Ahsoka and Chuchi find Chi Eekway held captive aboard a blockading Trade Federation battleship over Pantora, and expose Trade Federation officer Sib Canay as a Separatist conspirator.S3E5 - CorruptionPadmé, on a diplomatic mission to Mandalore, guarantees the pacifist planet the Republic's full protection, but she and Duchess Satine soon find something sinister lurking beneath the planet's serene facade. Moogan smugglers have been sneaking in supplies, including bottled tea destined for the Mandalorian schools. To increase their profits, they have been diluting the tea with a hazardous chemical.S3E6 - The AcademyAhsoka is assigned to teach a class at a leadership academy on Mandalore. Soon after she arrives, Duchess Satine's zealous nephew -- Korkie -- and his classmates uncover a nefarious plot. Prime Minister Almec is revealed to be an active part of the black market conspiracy on Mandalore, and he attempts to permanently silence Duchess Satine and the cadets before they expose his corruption. The Domino Squad is failing miserably at working together to pass the Citadel challenge.
