One focal point is the introduction of a retail pouring license, which would allow wine and beer retailers to sell by the glass outside scheduled tastings. This change, championed by Karen Heard of the Marietta Wine Market, aims to make the Square a more vibrant and inclusive destination. Other proposed changes include clarifying that restaurants can sell alcohol by the bottle on-site and permitting liquor sales during city events.
