Pulp! creator Cody Sullivan sits down with Chris Goulet and Science Night's James Reed to do the unthinkable: Create a new Cryptid. Happy Halloween! This Halloween we decided to do something a bit different. Chris Goulet, James Reed, and Cody Sullivan host a roundtable discussion on what makes a cryptid--and what makes them scary, in particular. Interwoven with the discussion is a larger narrative piece about one man's brave encouter with this nightmare creature deep in the shadow of the woods. This episode promises to be as informative as it is chilling, and if you enjoy hearing James talk about the biology of this creature, head on over to scinight.com to hear more. This episode is complimented well by the latest episode of Science Night, where James and Cody talk about premature burials, graverobbing, and how Queen Victoria's mourning brought an entire nation to reconcile their mortality. Stick around at the end of the episode for a Pulpy take on Edgar Allen Poe's, "The Premature Burial." You can listen by clicking here (https://www.scinight.com/episodes/2020-halloween-spectacular), or searching for Science Night on wherever you get your podcasts! Meet FWB local Cody Sullivan. The actor, writer and musician portrays Nathan in HBO's new eight-episode drama series "Sharp Objects." The show is based on Gillian Flynn’s novel of the same name. It follows reporter Camille Preaker (Amy Adams) as she returns to her hometown to investigate unsolved crimes.Sullivan hasn’t seen the series yet. He watched the first episode at an L.A. premiere, but the rest is still a mystery — even to him. In Sullivan’s interview with DN, he talks auditioning in L.A., working with Amy Adams and why Venice Beach is no match for the Emerald Coast.
Portland, Oregon- Cody Sullivan is the first known college student with down syndrome to complete four years of higher education in Oregon. He graduated this year with a Certificate of Acheivment in the College of Education and he already has a job as a Kindergarten Teacher's Assistant at Kairos PDX! He even performed in Handel's Messiah during his Freshman and Sophomore years, something he says was one of the biggest challenges he faced at the University. Specialized bikes are brought from California with the goal of the week long course, to get those with disabilities, and those without, riding a normal two wheeled bike by themselves. His very proud Mother, Ann Donaca-Sullivan, says BOTH Cody AND his classmates have benefitted from a lifetime of inclusive schooling, when in many instances people just like Cody are kept away from normal instruction or activities with the rest of the kids. Now that he’s made history as the first person with down syndrome to finish four years of college in Oregon, he has that new dream gig working with children at Kairos PDX Charter School. And, he will continue working with Think College Oregon removing barriers for those once thought unable to attend a 4 year University. #StayConnected as heard on Portland’s Morning News with Steve and Rebecca from 5am-9am on FM News 101 and at KXL.com
Pulp! from Beyond the Veil is a new podcast series written and produced by Cody Sullivan. Every episode is comprised of short stories; original work; serialized entries of greater length; ethereal music; reviews of movies, comics, or other media; and in the episodes to come we hope to include interviews, true crime stories, and general discussions of occult themes. This is, to be sure, a multi-faceted podcast inspired by the old Pulp magazines of the 1910s, 20s, and 30s, such as "Weird Tales." Staying true to the idea of an audiozine allows us to approach each episodes as segments to larger whole. Most importantly, we here at Pulp! would like nothing more than to tailor this show to listener requests. We accept submission for original work, and will be implementing changes as feedback pour in. We can be reached at Pulpfrombeyond@gmail.com, and we hope to hear from you. This is, to be sure, a true pilot episode. We are already focusing on increasing sound quality through acquiring better equipment, and as listenership increases we hope to produce this show with greater speed and regularity. Special Thanks to: Amanda Gay [Artist] Zachary Husband [Contributor] Will Okun [Consultant] Christopher Goulet [Consultant] Jacob Soho [Consultant] Daniel Toohey [Moral Support] Dominick Warncke & Carrie Cantera [Moral Support] And, most importantly, all you listeners out there. Thank you for your support.
The Vibrating Antennas (Jay Why, Cody Sullivan, Timmy Lodhi) stop by Onstage with Jim and Tom for an interview and performance. We talk about defining moments, anarchy, freaks, their musical evolution, and more.
On this week's CSI Podcast, Scott and Matt are joined by Chicago improvisers Cody Sullivan and Carly Garber. Scenes include: incompetent employees, bad pranks, lame dates, CVS pharmacy, clothing fads, a trip to the strap club, and the indestructible Chippy.
