During the Pentagon press briefing alongside Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth described the two-week ceasefire with Iran as the result of a decisive U.S. military campaign. He stated, “Operation Epic Fury was a historic and overwhelming victory on the battlefield — a capital-V military victory,” claiming it decimated Iran's missile program, navy, and defense industry, rendering its military “combat-ineffective for years to come.” Hegseth added that “Iran begged for this ceasefire, and we all know it,” asserting the regime was “out of options and out of time.” He emphasized that U.S. forces are “not going anywhere,” saying “we'll be hanging around” in the region to monitor compliance, ensure that Iran never acquires a nuclear weapon, and remain “prepared to defend, prepared to go on offense,” and “restart at a moment's notice” if the truce fails. Hegseth noted that “it takes time sometimes for ceasefires to take hold” and framed the pause as giving “a chance at real peace and a real deal,” while praising President Trump for choosing “mercy” instead of further crippling Iran's economy. In this insightful episode of John Solomon Reports, we navigate the complexities of U.S.-Iran relations with retired CIA officer Sam Faddis, a seasoned expert on Middle Eastern security. Faddis shares his perspective on the current ceasefire and the ongoing negotiations in Islamabad, highlighting the challenges posed by Iran's ambitious 10-point plan, which he characterizes as a non-starter for any serious peace agreement. As the conversation unfolds, we delve into the intricacies of Iranian propaganda and the duality of their public posturing versus behind-the-scenes negotiations. Faddis emphasizes the critical importance of demonstrating U.S. resolve and the need for a strong military presence to deter Iranian aggression, particularly concerning the vital oil and natural gas routes in the region. We also explore the potential for internal change within Iran, discussing the obstacles faced by the Iranian populace in their struggle against a repressive regime.Next, we tackle the alarming intersection of immigration and national security as we discuss a recent attempted terrorist attack on Fort MacDill, involving Chinese nationals. John is joined by bestselling author Peter Schweitzer, who sheds light on the concept of "anchor babies" and how this immigration loophole is being exploited by foreign adversaries like China and Mexico.Schweitzer explains the implications of birthright citizenship, detailing how it has been weaponized to undermine U.S. security. He discusses the disturbing trend of Chinese nationals using this loophole to gain U.S. citizenship for their children, which poses significant risks as these individuals may later influence American elections. Finally, we discuss the significant implications of the Missouri v. Biden case with Dr. Aaron Kheriaty, a key figure in the landmark lawsuit that challenged government censorship during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Kheriaty shares his harrowing experience as a board-certified physician who was fired for opposing a vaccine mandate, illuminating the broader issues of free speech and government overreach in the digital age.As we delve into the details of the case, Dr. Kheriaty reveals how the federal government pressured social media platforms to censor dissenting voices, creating a "censorship industrial complex" that violated First Amendment rights. He discusses the recent settlement that reaffirms the principles of free speech, emphasizing that labeling information as "disinformation" does not grant the government the authority to suppress it.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Trump says there's a ceasefire. The market likes it. The White House is calling it a win. But the details sound a lot more like a rushed exit than a clean victory. In this episode, Nate and Chuck break down the supposed Iran ceasefire, the claim that the U.S. "achieved and exceeded" its military goals, and why Iran's own 10-point framework appears to be the basis for the deal. Iran has acknowledged the 15-point plan from the U.S. to end the war. Even though the response wasn't as constructive as many hoped, Kevin Green believes it offers the first steps to an eventual deal. He explains the impact these headlines have on bond auctions and treasury yields. A potential premium in the chemical and materials industries is also on KG's radar, and it's not just because of volatility in the crude oil trade. He expects those impacts to affect AI chips. ======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Options involve risks and are not suitable for all investors. US and Israeli media outlets are reporting that the Trump administration - with the help of Pakistan- has handed Iran a 15-point ceasefire plan. President Trump insists his administration is talking to the "right people" in Iran, and that they "badly" want a deal to end the four week conflict. On Tuesday he hinted at a "very significant prize" gifted to the US by Iranian negotiators relating to oil and gas, and the Strait of Hormuz. Just hours later, Iran told the United Nations that "non-hostile vessels" will be allowed to pass through the Strait. Meanwhile, the Pentagon is expected to deploy ground forces to the Middle East, according to the BBC's US partner, CBS News. Also: the social media giant Meta is ordered to pay $375 million dollars in damages for misleading users over child safety; Russia launches one its largest aerial attacks on Ukraine since the war began, hitting cities across the country with nearly one thousand drones; Denmark's governing Social Democratic Party comes top in Tuesday's parliamentary election, but with its worst showing in more than a century.
