Your boys are back with three superheroic films this week! First up, the boys talk about the wonders of 3-D film making and we play a game of "What was Kevin Talking About?" Where we ask the question: What was Kevin Talking about?" The first movie is "Felidae," a 1994 animated German film about a cat that feels compels to solve a murder in his neighborhood. The gory crimes lead him into a rabbit hole (so to speak) of violence and conspiracy. Next, is Scrambled Face Jeff's contest-winning pick of "Papi Gudia." In this extremely '80s movie (that came out in 1996), an Indian serial killer named Young Channi puts his soul into a doll to continue his violence. It's all Channi Play from there. Finally, the side characters from Dragon Ball get their own movie in "Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero" from 2022. Will Kevin understand 40 years of Akira Toriyama continuity? And will one of the hosts simply refuse to watch it? And will Krillin fuck a robot? All this plus Nerd News, Buffy Chat, Baseball Chat, voicemails, curses and so much more! Direct Donloyd! Featuring stunning diorama-like handcrafted 3D environments and a doll-inspired aesthetic, the remake streamlines narrative pacing while overhauling combat and adding essential quality-of-life features like auto-battle, speed toggles, and field insta-kills for weak enemies.Dive into the core gameplay: collect stone tablet fragments to restore lost islands through time travel, exploring present and past versions with integrated puzzle-solving and town-building mechanics where you recruit NPCs to upgrade your hometown. The vocation system evolves with moonlighting (dual vocations) and "Let Loose" burst abilities, plus monster hearts for passive buffs and recruitment for a monster park (no direct party use). No multiplayer exists, but optional post-game superbosses await.Analytic Dreamz compares playtime metrics — main story now 40–50 hours (down from 100+ on PS1 and 75–80 on 3DS) — and covers the expanded content scope: 4–5 core party members (Hero/Auster, Kiefer, Maribel, Mervyn, Aishe), 20+ vocations from basics to advanced tiers, hundreds of monsters, 20+ major islands across dual timelines, side quests, casinos, and mini-games.The 2026 multiplatform launch (Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC) drove strong performance: ~457K physical units in Japan week 1 (Switch 178K, Switch 2 160K, PS5 119K), Steam peak at 27K concurrency, and a #4 UK debut — second-best franchise launch. Critics praise the visual overhaul, QoL improvements, and pacing (81–83 Metacritic, e.g., Nintendo Life 9/10), though some legacy fans debate story trimming and removed elements.Analytic Dreamz explores development by HexaDrive with Square Enix polishing, historical context from PS1 (4.1M worldwide) and 3DS versions, plus strategic takeaways: modernization prioritizes accessibility over maximal retention, broadening appeal beyond Japan's core market while dividing purists.Tune in for this comprehensive analysis of how Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined redefines a timeless epic for modern players.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/analytic-dreamz-notorious-mass-effect/exclusive-contentPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

2026 is set to be a legendary year for Dragon Ball, as several major announcements will be revealed for the first time at the official Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event in late January. However, an announcement fans have long been waiting for may already have been leaked, based on recent comments from someone close to the series.Kazuhiko Torishima, a former Shonen Jump Editor-in-Chief who worked closely with the late Akira Toriyama as editor for the Dragon Ball manga, commented on a new Dragon Ball movie -- specifically, a new Dragon Ball Super movie that's been heavily rumored for some time now.Of course, with Torishima's infamous reputation for being blunt, he didn't express much excitement about the rumored film during a livestream. "With how bad things are, we can't expect much from next year's Dragon Ball movie either, don't you think?" he said on his podcast series, KosoKoso.Support The Podcast!https://creators.spotify.com/pod/show/roose366/subscribeFollow For More Content &Streams!Science Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/5nFXe9dPeWrMpyObyAlrnF?si=7358d1cf32cb45b7Youtube Gaming: https://www.youtube.com/@RooseJp/videosTiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@podcastonanime

The initial manga, written and illustrated by Toriyama, was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1984 to 1995, with the 519 individual chapters collected in 42 tankōbon volumes by its publisher Shueisha. Dragon Ball was originally inspired by the classical 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West, combined with elements of Hong Kong martial arts films. Dragon Ball characters also use a variety of East Asian martial arts styles, including karate[1][2][3] and Wing Chun (kung fu).[2][3][4] The series follows the adventures of protagonist Son Goku from his childhood through adulthood as he trains in martial arts. He spends his childhood far from civilization until he meets a teenage girl named Bulma, who encourages him to join her quest in exploring the world in search of the seven orbs known as the Dragon Balls, which summon a wish-granting dragon when gathered. Along his journey, Goku makes several other friends, becomes a family man, discovers his alien heritage, and battles a wide variety of villains, many of whom also seek the Dragon Balls. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_Ball Links https://www.davidrevoy.com/ https://www.peppercarrot.com/en/about/index.html Pepper and Carrot Episode 1 https://www.youtube.com/@DavidRevoy https://framagit.org/Deevad hpr4134 :: Goodbye Craig Maloney. While 2025 wasn't the worst year to be a Dragon Ball fan, mainly thanks to Dragon Ball DAIMA, it has been a rough one for fans of the Dragon Ball Super manga. Continuing its extended hiatus, which began in 2024 following the passing of Akira Toriyama, only a single new chapter of the manga released in 2025. Now, with the year close to ending, and there still being no sight of Dragon Ball Super Chapter 105, it's clear that major changes are happening. With the end of 2025 comes the end of an era for Dragon Ball Super, and the beginning of a new one. 2024 will go down in history as the final year that new Dragon Ball anime episodes and manga chapters at least partially written by Akira Toriyama were released. When the Dragon Ball Super manga eventually returns, most likely with the long-awaited Black Frieza Saga, it will be the beginning of a new era, one where the future of the most famous Shonen series of all time will solely be guided by Toyotarou.Support The Podcast!https://creators.spotify.com/pod/show/roose366/subscribeFollow For More Content &Streams!Science Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/5nFXe9dPeWrMpyObyAlrnF?si=7358d1cf32cb45b7Youtube Gaming: https://www.youtube.com/@RooseJp/videosTiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@podcastonanime

This week in the Video Dungeon we're gathering the Dragon Pearls and summoning Shenlong! Looking for the weirdest Dragon Ball movie ever made? Join us as we dive into the bizarre, action-packed, and hilariously unauthorized world of Dragon Ball: The Magic Begins! This 1989 Taiwanese live-action adaptation takes Akira Toriyama's beloved characters on a wild ride — with questionable wigs, off-brand names, and a ton of unintentional comedy. This film is a so-bad-it's-good cult classic from Taiwan that retells the Dragon Ball saga with over-the-top martial arts, and unforgettable costumes. Think Goku meets bootleg Power Rangers. Joining us is special guest, Jenna Fryer, all the way from planet Namek!
Once I saw the trailer to Maliki: Poison of the Past, I knew I had to give it a chance as the cool looking anime-like vibe pulled me in (the characters are clearly based on the late, great Akira Toriyama's style), as well it's unique turn-based RPG battles that keeps things fun and interesting. Based on a French manga series (which explains the anime look), the plot places you into the life of a young lady named Sand.

For this Film Episode we take a look at the last of the Dragon Ball Super Movies so far. Here is a movie that does some very different things for a DBZ movie. This is a movie that makes Gohan and Piccolo the main characters instead of Goku and Vegeta. Which one will I give the #1 nod? Then I checked out LOTR: War of the Rohirrim in our TALK TOPIC. All this and more in this edition of A.C.M.G. presents TALK TIME LIVE!
Just last year, Sony had grand designs of a new PlayStation leadership structure executing on an exciting multi-pronged strategy, but only three fiscal quarters later, the plan has come undone. Hideaki Nishino and Hermen Hulst were bestowed co-CEO roles -- the former looking after hardware and services, the latter after software -- but now, Nishino will hold the CEO role alone, with Hulst demoted and now reporting directly to him. While Sony Corporation itself made some other changes as well, including installing Hiroki Totoki as the larger entity's CEO, changes to PlayStation's executive structure so soon after alterations were first made says something rather clear: Bad choices were made, and rectifying them as quickly as possible is the best idea. We discuss. Other news this week includes Xbox quickly becoming PlayStation's biggest publisher, with yet another Xbox game -- Forza Horizon 5 -- en route to PS5, rumblings of new films for Resident Evil and Beyond: Two Souls, PlayStation 5 continuing to outsell the PS4 in the US when adjusted for time, layoffs at BioWare following Dragon Age's tumultuous end, MLB: The Show 25 skipping PS4 for the first time since the console launched, and more. Listener inquiries wrap things up. Is NCSoft's Horizon MMO cancelled? How does a game's budget actually get determined? Should future Dragon Quest games abandon Akira Toriyama's art style? Will Colin's Herman Miller chair ever arrive? Please keep in mind that our timestamps are approximate, and will often be slightly off due to dynamic ad placement.
