This Sunday, we celebrated St. Patrick's Day with Irish music, and Albie shared the story of Saint Patrick.
February 11 isn't just Super Bowl Sunday - maybe more importantly it's 2-1-1 Day here in Connecticut, the day when we celebrate and recognize 2-1-1-Infoline, which had its humble beginnings right here in our state and last year, provided assistance to 1.7 million people. Then, we're heading to the Elm City to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of The New Haven Legal Assistance Association, which offers free, high-quality legal services to people living in poverty in greater New Haven. We'll tell you all about it, and how you may be able to access free legal help from their NHLAA team. Then we'll head to visit with the Valley Community Foundation and talk about how that organization is maximizing the power of "Valley-ness" to support and assist hundreds of organization working to take the best care of residents in Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour, and Shelton.
The Elm City String Quartet is a recent addition to Fredericton. We talk to violinist Mark Kleyn about the programs they will be playing this season.
Hartford was a bust, but New Haven's got a little spring in its step! We explored this coastal city on a whim and are so freaking glad we did. From its bold claims of being the birthplace of the burger AND American pizza, the food game in this town is solid. Coffee game? Also on point. Pair that with Nathan Hale being a crappy spy and all of the mystique and intrigue that a certain Ivy League school has to offer, and you need to pull up a chair... because we're about to reveal the secret knock to The Elm City's bustling society. You've been sleeping on this city in Connecticut--and that's why you can't get into Yale. Also, Denise invents a band out of thin air. Enjoy! You can find us on YouTube here and we need you to SUBSCRIBE! You can follow us on social media here. #emptynest #fulltank
In this episode, we take time to celebrate Elm City turning 5 years old! God has done so much and it is good to look back and recount His faithfulness over the last five years. We also made a big announcement about our next steps as a church into Church Planting!

Marya brings the case against her husband, Clark. Their family found and cared for a Spiny Elm caterpillar in their yard. When they collected neighborhood leaves to feed the caterpillar, Marya was shocked to find that Clark clipped them right off the tree. She thinks that they should have only collected leaves that had fallen on the ground. Who's right? On this special day, we looked at the story of Mary Magdalene and how she was given an upgraded understanding of Jesus on that first Easter morning. She went to the tomb looking for the crucified Jesus and walked away encountering the Risen Lord. After Mary encountered Jesus, two important things happened... First, she immediately was compelled to worship Him, and second, she was commissioned to go and tell others about Him. This has always been the response for all who truly encounter Jesus. Is it yours?
